I had a hoagie here for dinner while drinking at Dailey's with a friend. The sandwich is pretty plain and boring about on par with Subway only you don't have all the options for toppings to spruce it up. For $8 bucks or so you'll get a sandwich, chips, and a pickle. Kind of pricey in my mind and it wasn't very filling. Maybe I've been spoiled by the sandwiches I can get in New York but I would rather go to Subway or Quiznos.

If I could give negative stars for this place, I would! I was at the Mound Carbones' location today around 12:30pm with my two kids & two of my friends & their children (3 adults, 3 toddlers, & 2 babies). We stopped by on our way home from Minnetonka Orchards upon recommendation by the Orchard. It was all of our first time at a Carbones' so we were excited to try out the pizza & hoagies. Unfortunately, we had a very poor experience that left a bad taste in all of our mouths. Service was ungodly slow despite the 4 employees behind the counter. The female employee taking orders could not figure out the register so all of our orders were entered in incorrectly. After we had placed our order, we sat in the booth right across from the cash register. The same employee came up to us & asked us if we were dining in because if we were, then there was a server that was supposed to take our order. We didn't see a server when we came in & it was our first time at the restaurant, so we were not aware of that detail. We told her this & she said "Oh, I guess I can bring out your order." When she brought out our order, it was incomplete & incorrect. A kid's pb&j pizza was missing & an item in a takeout box was brought out. Eventually, this got straightened out, but we had to go back up to the counter & request our beverages. I stood at the counter for an unreasonable amount of time not being acknowledged. One employee was going on a smoke break. Another was dividing up some cake while another was juggling a knife. I seriously contemplated going behind the counter to get the drinks myself because it would have been quicker! Our kids were starting to meltdown because the food order wasn't correct & they had to wait on their milk. With so many different pizza options in the area, I don't think we will be stopping by again.

We are new to the area and were impressed with this restaurant! From what we could tell, they've recently renovated. Went there for lunch on a Sunday and had GREAT pizza. (Oh, and they have Surly on tap.)

It's ok. They just remodeled and it is really nice inside compared to what it used to be. I like the sausage and onion pizza, the other food is ok. Drinks are great and prices are not out of line. I really didn't like this restaurant before, but it is definitely getting better!

Terrible service. Three ditsy/trashy girls standing around so focused on anything but their job that I waited for minutes before getting *no* service and walking out. Absolutely pathetic and unacceptable - will *never* visit this dump again. On the bright side, at least one of the ditsy/trashy girls on duty (the "bartender") got some advice about tattoos from one of the trashy customers (while I was waiting for service). Go team...you suck!!! Is this review too harsh? No - do your f*ing job when you're at work!

You sure don't get what you pay for! Ordered a sausage pizza and there were more pieces without sausage than pieces with sausage. Pepperoni hoagie has one layer of thin pepperoni, why even call it a pepperoni hoagie? Got 6 waffle fries with it al well. Service is TERRIBLE. Spoke with the manager about all of this and he seemed as though he could care less. We will never come back.

I just scratch my head when I read some of the previous reviews. I think the issues were back when Dailey's Pub and Carbone's were basically sharing the same kitchen, with a door joining the two. This was several years ago. Since then, it was totally remodeled and is just, Carbone's ! The food here is very good. The BLT is maybe the best I have ever had. The waffle fries are available with a seasoned sour cream dipping sauce, Get Some ! Delicious ! The pizza is great, the hoagies can't be beat ! Nice outdoor patio, but it is on a busy intersection. What do you do ? The only drawback is some of the local loser's that hangout here. There are so few good places out in this area. This is one of them !

Great pizza and calzones for the area. The consistency has varied for us, but the pretty good pizza keeps us coming back. The drinks have always been great! A good place to bring your family!

This place is horrible, the service is as bad as it gets. I don't know who is in charge of this place but they have a lot to learn about good customer service and running a decent restaurant. If you don't mind being ignored, crap food, HORRIBLE customer service and waiting 15 minutes to get a drink this is the place for you. I mean I ordered a beer and they didn't even fill it to the brim, that is a big no no in my book. I recommend you avoid this joint. You're better off eating frozen pizza at home.

Been going to Carbone's for years. We bring our son for wings and the Big Buck hunter game. The food is decent but the service has always been pretty bad. Tonight was a major exception. Our server gave us the best service and friendly attention. Went out of her way to make sure we were taken care of. Kudo's to her and we will be back sooner because of it!

It's hit or miss with Carbones. The night I went with friends the hostess was rude skipping us for another party after we'd been waiting 30 mins. When I pointed this out to her she rudely told me "oh sorry". One of our party has MS and wanted to sit so badly it was clear she was struggling to get to the table and get in her chair. When I pointed this out to bitter hostess bi@ch she just turned on her heel and walked away. The food was OK nothing to write home about. I'd rather go to Narrows but Carbones has more space.

My husband and I had lunch here today and I ordered a prime rib sandwich and the bread was burnt which ruin the entire thing. The waitress was kind enough to take it off of our bill and that was great. Then at supper time, we ordered a large super pizza to go and the crust was black! We have learned our lesson. We will never go here again.

My wife and I have tried this place several times. The food has very little flavor and creativity. The food will fill you up but it will never wow you. It does have a pretty good atmosphere as you can watch a game and drink some drinks, but don't go expecting to have great food. Even the pizza, which is very hard to mess up, always leaves me dissatisfied and wondering why we paid so much for below-average pizza. If you just need a quick bite with the kids or want to meet a friend to hang out and have a drink, go here. If you're looking for a Friday night meal that will wow your senses, drive to Excelsior or Wayzata, Because you won't find it here.

We've had the super pizza twice here - so good. All the toppings they have on one pizza. It's a feast. Service was a little slow. We got our food fine but the waitress didn't come back to check on us for a long time. Ran out of water. Pita chips and artichoke dip was good, not as creamy as most but the chips were great.

Little pricey - but the thin crust pizza is great!

I went there with my family while we were visiting them in Minnesota. I must say that I was less than impressed with Carbone's. The decor was pretty cheesy and they had the Gophers game on the TVs and blasting over the radio which didn't set the stage for a great dinner. The server was moderately attentive, but wouldnt' bring waters for the table despite multiple requests. On several occasions, she brought A drink for the ONE person who requested waters for the table. It's irritating, but the experience could be redeemed with great food. This was not that. The magherita pizza was made with flavorless tomatoes which left the pizza sub-par. The other pizzas that we had were fine, but nothing knocked it out of the park. The combination of the game blasting, the boring decor, the un-awesome service, and the meh pizza left me at 2 stars. There has to be better than this in the Western 'burbs of Minneapolis!!

Came into this Carbone's with a group of 25, half were kids from being at a basketball tournament. We had 1 server for our entire group. I fully get that our group size and separate checks per family added difficulty for the server, but it seems the staff and kitchen was clueless. The result was getting our food 90 minutes after ordering. 2 pizzas and a chicken fingers was our family's order and we received our food last out of the whole group. In sitting for that long, we never once had an apology or an update, just the staff pretending like it wasn't happening. Before leaving and paying with a 20% tip I shared that it was a less than pleasant experience with our server who let me know it was our fault for being a big group with separate checks. Wow.

I have such mixed reviews on this place. The food has been good, but sometimes it's horrendous. We've been told different things by different servers, leading me to believe there is a lack of communication. The drink prices are spot on for the area and the food is generally good. They do offer gluten free pizza crust, but we've received a lot of mixed information regarding the crusts which makes me wary. I've gotten quite sick from being 'glutened' there before, so not quite sure what that was all about. Overall, since it's local and has a good bar, we'll be back. But the servers and cooks should be trained better in serving gluten free guests. And if management doesn't want to do that, remove the gluten free crust option, simple as that.

When I moved to Mound, I was worried about where I was going to get pizza...glad to say I don't miss any pizza I have had with Carbone's near by. Carbone's is one of the best pizzas I have had over the years. Lots of cheese (some say too much, but not me)...and lots of sausage (good tasting). Their cheesebread is a disappointment.

Eh....it's okay. If you eat in you'll wait a while for service. It's slow.

You know how some people say that even when pizza is bad, it's still good? Well, this place COMPLETELY discredits that theory. I RARELY give one star reviews on here, but this place was just horrible. I certainly gave it a fighting chance; I tried it once, and then I tried it again a few months later, figuring maybe it was just an off-day for them. I was wrong on that. The service is REALLY slow; we waited for about 20 minutes (and that's being generous) while the waitress swiped our credit card. And then the food; we ordered pizza fries and a large pizza. The 'pizza fries' were just pieces of crappy bread with semi-melted cheese on it; definitely not what I would call pizza fries. The pizza was bad too; I've tasted microwave pizza that is heaps better than the stuff at this place.

First off. I must say that I love Carbones pizza. Now on tot the review. We went there for dinner Sunday evening, they weren't busy at all. We ordered a pizza and a quesadilla, after 25 minutes the waitress returned and told us that they lost the pizza ticket and that they would remake the entire order and that it would take about 7 minutes. She also said she would speak to the manager. 20 minutes later the food arrived and it was fresh however the pizza was missing one of the toppings. Oh well, better than having a wrong topping. Throughout all of this the manager never once appeared to apologize. Once we finished dinner we waiters for the server to return with the check however after waiting 10 minutes I went to find her. We finally received the check and the manager did comp the pizza at least. We paid and left. At this point we won't be returning again. Very disappointed.

We have lived in the area and ordering from Carbone's for about 4 years. Prior to the last 2 delivery orders I would have rated them a 3 or 4. 2 weeks ago we ordered sandwiches with waffle fries and both orders of fries were not cooked. I called to let them know they were sending out unacceptable food and was told by the manager that she had to call me back later in the night cause she was busy. I was ok with that since I understand they get busy and it really wasn't a big deal. However, i didn't receive a call that night and recently heard a voicemail on my phone from another manager at another time. I didn't call back as I considered the fry incident a one time issue. Well, we ordered pizza for delivery tonight and was told it was going to take an hour. Not unusual for them so I didn't mind as the pizza is normally pretty good. It showed up 20 mins late and was disgusting. It had weird black onions and was so cold I feel like it was in a delivery car for a hour after it cooked for 20 mins. I am not going to call since it is clear they don't care. We are done for a while Carbone's. Maybe we will come by this summer on the boat and see if you can redeem yourself. Very disappointed.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
