Four of us stopped in to check this new eatery out. We were greeted by friendly staff and our waitress and servers were excellent. We had the antipasto for appetizer and also a mozzarella dish. Both were good with the bread and the pesto outstanding. My only complaint was on the antipasto we Received two pieces of manchego, each about the size of a nickel and the equivalent of one small slice of Parmesan! That was it. Not enough for the four of us to taste both. The sirloin tip entree was prepared well and the two halibut and one walleye entrees were cooked perfect but all three of us noted there was little to no seasoning. In fact it was bland. The ambiance is good but that night the temperature was set to low as it was a bit cold for dinner. We are going to give it another shot in the future as the happy hour price on the appetizers can't be beat

Great food. I had the chicken breast & it was very tasty. Someone in my Party had the duck & said it was excellent. I would highly recommend this place.

Rustica was a relaxing setting for an after work happy hour. We tried a tasty mix of appetizers- shrimp, asparagus frittata, and a roasted vegetable platter. We especially liked the shrimp and roasted vegetable platter. This was my first visit....will definitely visit again.

Dinner for two was pleasant. Well trained service. Food was very good. Interesting wine selection. The restaurant was full yet the aesthetic was intimate. Perfect eatery and well worth it if you have a big budget.

Ambience=great. Food is spectacular though rich. Service was exceptional. I hope it's a mainstay for Moorhead; and hoping they can have a late night or bar menu with some less expensive fare.

Love this place! Same owners as Mezzeluna is what I understand and they do not disappoint. Drinks and food are great, ambiance a thumbs up, and the servers have been on top of their game every single time I've been. This is as good as it gets in the FM area! Highly, highly recommend.

This place is really good! We went for dinner on Halloween and this place does not disappoint. The atmosphere reminds me of smaller restaurants you would find hidden in neighborhoods of larger cities. Must haves: Apps Pork Belly Burratta Beef Tacos (note they are a large portion and could almost be a meal in itself) Entrees I had the Halibut special with duck fat fried potatoes and Brussels sprouts which was fantastic! It seriously rivals Gordon Ramsey's Halibut that I had a Steak in Las Vegas. Fiancé had the roasted chicken breast with sweet potato mash and it was delish as well. My only negative was the dessert. We ordered the apple pie and it was more of a pastry type pie then a homemade apple pie. We will be back!

Excellent restaurant, best in Moorhead by far. One of the best in the area. Burrata, pork belly, stuffed dates are all outstanding apps. Big fan of the nightly fish feature, the pork saltimbocca, filet medallions, and prosciutto wrapped lamb are all winners too. Top notch service and a great ambience. They have recently opened up a tavern side with wood fired pizza and now have patio seating available as well. Highly recommended.

In town and took my MiL out for her birthday on Wednesday. I didn't bother making reservations because....well, it's Wednesday. When we arrived shocked to find every table full and no openings until much later in the evening. Reluctantly, we sat at the bar and ordered cocktails deciding if we should stay or tough it out and eat at the bar. Luckily, James and Mark were behind the bar. My partner and I are foodies and eat out quite frequently, but the MiL does not. James and Mark did a great job of making her feel at ease and was patient with all of the questions. I ordered the duck - which was cooked beautifully, it came with a berry relish, butternut squash puree, and Brussel sprouts. My partner and his mom ordered the Walleye which came with chilli tomatoes, potatoes, and was enjoyed by both. There are comments that the price point is too high for the area. To that I say, you pay for what you get. Life is too short not to pamper yourself and you need to splurge every often. We had two salads, 3 entrees, and each of us had 2-3 cocktails and our bill was less than $200 - which is impressive for what we got. Next time I visit his MiL I will definitely be back here. Sit at the bar and ask for James or Mark, you won't be disappointed!!

My wife and I have been meaning to try the eatery portion of Rustica out for a while. We've been to the tavern before and were thoroughly impressed with the quality and variety of the pizzas, especially for the price. This time, however, we opted for the nicer eatery side. The atmosphere is casual and inviting. The staff were polite and quick to grab anything we needed. For entrees, I had the Salisbury steak, and my wife had the duck confit. Our only complaint about the food was that the duck confit, according to the menu, is supposed to be crispy, but this duck confit was definitely not crispy. It reminded me more of baked duck. Don't let that scare you, though, because the flavor was phenomenal, and we would definitely order it again. Both meals came with fresh vegetables on the side that were in season and extremely flavorful. Overall, we enjoyed our experience here and will be back again.

We went to Rustica last night for a nice dinner and had a great experience! We had only had appetizers before, so this was the first time having actual dinner; and we weren't disappointed at all. We started with the roasted veggies appetizer and it was amazing...this coming from a true carnivore too! For dinner we had a chicken dish and a chorizo pasta dish. Both of them were very tasty -- something we would order again. Wine and drinks were great too. The service was excellent. The only thing we didn't like was the little basket of bread served in between the appetizers and the main course. The bread was pretty blah...not much taste. Not a big deal though. We stuffed ourselves with food, and unfortunately didn't have room for some of the tasty looking desserts they have. Maybe next time! Will be back!

I love the Fargo food scene! Only people who haven't been there recently would scoff at the idea of great food in this town - there is plenty. New to me and my colleagues (we're from all over the US) is Rustica. The restaurant itself has a bar area with dining tables, and then a dining room only area - high ceilings, cool sort of minimalist decor and the nicest serving professionals you could ask for. Sweet, sweet people. We ate from the Happy Hour menu which provides an excellent value and surprisingly filling portions. We had a Rosemary Lemon Drop martini, with a piece of rosemary sticking straight up in the middle (pretty, tangy goodness). The board with Toasted Veggies, hummus, pesto and bread was so attractive, healthful and delicious - only $8 and I couldn't finish it! Great for sharing. We also had the Gulf Shrimp with Romesco Sauce - sitting atop a delicious polenta croquette with pesto that was crunchy with pine nuts - much more interesting texture and taste than the typical fine-ground pesto. The shrimp was one large piece, perfectly cooked and beautifully plated ($8 also). Rustica is relaxed, nice atmosphere, not so loud that you can't hear your companions - yet energetic enough to feel fun. With the two separate seating areas you can choose based on the "vibe" that you want once you walk it. I am eager to go back and experience the food and kind, attentive service.

A fantastic bottle of Albarino, beautifully-cooked scallops, irresistible fried Mahon cheese, and top notch fresh pasta made for an exceptional dinner for two. Oh, not to mention the truly wonderful asparagus soup of the day! A real delight on the other side of the river. Brilliantly executed as always, Eric and Sara -- and a big congrats to General Manager Mason!

It is definitely worth crossing the river into Moorhead for this restaurant! Props for having a gluten-free menu and GF parmesan rolls! My sis has an allergy, and so she was especially impressed with this restaurant. The server (Laren) was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The soup of the day, Southwest Carrot with Cilantro Oil, was the highlight for me. We also ordered the Mahon appetizer....fried cheese...need I say more?! Both the soup and fried cheese appetizer were seasoned to perfection. I ordered the chile braised beef pasta, egg I expected to have a kick to it, plus the server highly recommended it. It was the opposite of what I expected; it needed more salt and spice. The rest is my dining companions were very pleased with their entrees, so I guess I was the only "miss" of the table. The atmosphere is very warm and friendly, and it is fun to watch the chefs from the back window of the building.

Stopped by at 10:15 pm, the happy hour menu was still served till 11:00. Had the kale salad, pork belly and scallops. All the favors were excellent. The salad was served on a chilled plate, and the warm food on a heated plate. I wish my stomach would have allowed me to try more. I will be back. Great place for foodies and those who have an appreciation of harmonious flavors.

We enjoy Rustica every time we go there. I truly appreciate how my favorite menu item is slightly adjusted without any problem. The service is consistently strong. Moorhead is lucky to have Rustica.

Checked out Rustica for the first time for my birthday date night with the hubby. Rustica is the kind of restaurant that totally makes it worth the cost of a babysitter...color me impressed! What a great addition to downtown Moorhead. The service was outstanding, atmosphere was just lovely, and their menu is right-sized with perfect portions - priced exactly what I expected for this type of establishment. You MUST NOT miss the poutine app - as they say here in Minnesota, "uffda, that's good stuff!" It's a fabulous once-in-awhile treat, because 3,000 calories later... For our entrée, I had the pork loin saltimbocca, which was amazing. 2 pork loin medallions were perfectly cooked with a nice sear on the outside. The little bits of prosciutto on top may just have come directly from heaven. It was served with a light caper cream sauce (and I'm not a huge fan of capers, but this was a great balance to the saltiness of the pork) atop crispy fritas. Yum. My husband had the paella - he loved it, and commented that the sauce was nice and spicy but not overpowering. My only disappointment was that I ate so much I couldn't even handle the thought of dessert... so I guess we'll have to make a second trip to test the dessert menu! What a lovely experience, I can't wait to go back.

What a great place in Moorheads downtown scene. Have been here a few times, but this time I was out with the girls for Happy Hour. The cocktails where spot on and we had three appetizers...antipasto platers (caperberries...yum), dates stuffed with chorizo (this was like dessert), and the porkbelly. All the food was great and our waiter Dallas was very attentive and great. We did not feel rushed out, even though we took a table for over 4 hours. A gem of a place.

I have eaten in the restaurant twice and each time the food and service have been fantastic. Rustica staff were attentive and the food was perfectly prepared. What a pleasant restaurant to have in Moorhead.

Had 10 people there for a birthday celebration and we had three people taking care of us. There was never an empty glass or empty dish cluttering up the table. Great atmosphere and located in a beautiful old building, but was a bit loud for such an intimate place. Perfectly sized menu but I still had trouble choosing! Appetizer: Bacon wrapped chorizo stuffed dates...HAVE THESE! Sweet, smoky, spicy..delicious. Entree: Salmon, artichoke, caper, Kalamata olives and pasta in a creamy sauce served with French bread. Still have half in my fridge for lunch today, SCORE! Side: wild mushroom barley...like a side of rice only barley. Had to try it...would like to eat it every day! Dessert: rosemary scented flan with orange. Cheesecake's sophisticated cousin. Tasty! Overall beautiful presentation, and good portions. Prices are right on for this type of establishment.

Got there late, after 10 pm; entrees were no longer available but they were still serving appetizers and they were amazing. The pork belly was unbelievable. Very friendly staff and great atmosphere... Highly recommended.

Wonderful place to go for a special occasion, date, or a fancy night out with a small group of friends! The interior of the restaurant was lovely - a lot of dark woods, twinkle lights, and dim lighting. Started off with the appetizer of the Crispy pork belly with avocado-basil salsa, which was a bit too rich for my taste, but I would highly recommend it if you'd like to indulge in some delish porky goodness. The highlight of the meal for me was the salad of baby spinach with crisp apple and roasted sweet potato....it came with fried brie, candied pecans, and a smoked bacon dressing. This was probably one of the best salads I've had in my life, and it was perfect combination of flavors and textures and further proved my view that you can never go wrong with fried cheese. For entrees, we ordered the crispy duck confit and the chile braised beef pappardelle pasta (comes with a cream sauce), which were both excellent. The portion of pasta was huge and so I was only able to finish about half of it. This menu is pricier, and so if you're looking to get the most value for your spend, I'd recommend one of the pasta choices. I will note that when I reheated the leftovers the next day, there was so much butter in the pasta sauce that my noodles were soaked in a pool of oil/butter...which made me feel slightly guilty, but still. Totally. Worth. It.

My husband and I went here for my birthday dinner and it was fantastic. We both got happy hours drinks: my husband got the beer on special and I ordered the two different martinis on the happy hour menu. Both were delicious and inventive. We also got the poutine and stuffed dates apps which were divine. I love poutine and I would say that this lived up to my poutine expectations. My husband especially liked the dates which were sweet but also spicy with the chorizo. For dinner, he had the paella and I had the fish special. Both were amazing. The service was great and so is the ambiance. We left stuffed full of delicious food and happy with our outing!

Entrees were excellent; my husband had the fish special, and I had the roasted vegetable torta. Dessert was a mixed bag. My husband's bread pudding was great, but my Tres Leche Cake was decidedly odd. The only way I can describe the filling is that it was like a stick of cold, unsalted butter. Perhaps the cake had come out of the freezer moments before? But the cake layers and the whipped cream frosting weren't frozen, and the filling never softened at all as I ate it. It's a mystery. Overall, good food. Just don't order the Tres Leche Cake unless you're into solving culinary mysteries.

Superb! It's great to see a new fine-dining restaurant in Moorhead. The service was top-knotch. The food was prepared and presented perfectly. The menu options were eclectic and affordable. The atmosphere is great for a quiet dinner, date night or gathering with friends.

Great new restaurant on main in Moorhead. Menu offered many great apps. We liked the Burrata cheese plate and the pork belly. For the entree we had the flat iron steak and the beef pasta which were both wonderful. If chef Eric is in the kitchen you can be sure that the soup of the day will be awesome. We tried the beef with blue cheese soup and it was amazing.

The quality of the food here is THE BEST, as is the service. If you want to take friends out and impress them, this is the place. I normally do not order scallops because most restaurants can't get them quite right but I tried them here as an appetizer and they were beyond perfect! I had steak tips as my entree and they were good but very rich. The only drawback to Rustica is it is very noisy which is typical for these old buildings. Their menu doesn't have a lot of "plain" food but if you want to try something not so typical of the FM area, this is the place because they will cook and serve it to perfection!

Much like Mezz only a bit quieter! Service was great and the food - comparable to Mezz but the portions were smaller. Needs a larger foo-foo drink menu to maybe include specialized martinis. Will definitely go back lots to try on their menu!! Get the corner table by the front window - great location to bring your sweetie :-)
