We thought we would try thier pizza since we are big thin crust pizza fans. I hate to say it but we've had much better. The pizza was fine but not great. The toppings were not evenly spread out on the pizza so we had lots of overkill of toppings in one spot and not much in other parts of the pizza. We ordered the house pizza and the hamburger was overkill. Why a pizza place still uses canned mushrooms is beyond me. I would most likely not go back. The sauce was very bland and the crust was ok....

Oh, Duane's. If my father hadn't grown up in Fargo I never would have tasted your wondrous pizza. I live in California and don't get out there that often, but when I am there, I eat here at LEAST twice, usually more. It is simply the best. Also, for some reason, the Moorhead location seems to be better than the one in Fargo.

My wife left Moorhead 20 some years ago, but she knew this is where we needed to eat dinner when we passed through. While the restaurant had relocated, the pizza was as she remembered it... excellent! We had a 3 meat pizza, and a taco pizza. Both were fantastic. My wife had a fun time reminiscing with a couple of the staff, and our kids loved the pizza and the environment.

Very good pizza and a very good restaurant. One of the best sauces and good toppings. I love the Jo Jo's. You are not from Fargo Moorhead without enjoying this pizzeria.

I guess it's a good thing everyone's taste buds is different. I can't believe that this place supposedly have the best pizza in town. The pizza was way to salty, and the pizza was cut as if it was being served to a toddler, the fries were cold and soggy, and the chicken was salty as well. I spent $50 and I was very unhappy with the food, I didn't enjoy it one bit. I will never order from them again!

One of the oldest and still the best pizza places in town! It doesn't matter what toppings you like but the pizza is always great! A little more spendy than most places but worth it at least once in awhile! They also have a descent deal Monday-Wednesday, Large for a Small, but for pick up or in house only. Still a good deal though.

So I tell the woman, which place has the best pizza up here? She says this place, and to top it off, it has damn good fried chicken (broasted, actually, but, I saved correcting her for later). Ok, deal. Drop by for dinner with a friend of hers, and take up residence in the booth. I'm starving so, it's menu demolition derby time... 13 inch, 3 meat pizza 7 piece broasted chicken (comes with a mountain of fries too) Order of garlic cheese bread And I go with a salad bar as well, because, I'm a glutton for punishment, and I love salad bars. My trip to the salad bar definitely wasn't what I imagined. It was a bag of lettuce, with what looked like canned fruits packed in syrup poured trays, maybe days old toppings (bad enough where I didn't bother testing some of the items), and the dressings were all kind of mixed together. And my bowl was about the size of my palm. Wonderful. After one attempt at that, I said to hell with it, no thanks. I would have needed to fill the bowl a dozen times just to be somewhat happy. Pizza arrives and I'm thinking pizza is hard to screw up right? Well, toppings were solid, but the slices were cut to the size of a finger tip. I shit you not, it's like they cut it once, forgot where they cut it, and re did it the opposite way. Look down at your keyboard, see the keys? Imagine a slice of pizza maybe 2 keys big, with the biggest being 4 keys big. Yeah, it means you could say "I ate 40 pieces of pizza" but it made the pizza fall apart as we tried to serve it. Just a fucking mess. Taste wise, it was ok. Nothing special. Chicken and fries arrive. Fries were good... them even throwing in the odd jojo fry was welcome. However, the chicken was broasted for way too long. There wasn't faint sign of moisture left in poultry, at all. I could see Ashley turning green with rage as her first time coming back to her favorite place was being ruined by this shit. I ate one breast, and half of a thigh. Otherwise, it wasn't edible. It was simply too damn dry. We left 3 entire pieces of chicken behind, and told the waitress it wasn't edible. At that same time, I mentioned to her we're almost done with our meal and my garlic cheese bread hasn't arrived. About three minutes later she emerges with some soggy, store bought garlic bread with a slice of white Kraft single on it. No sauce for it, oh hell no, you get your garlic cheese bread just like it says! When asked how it was... "it's bread, with a hint of garlic, and a slice of cheese - it's nothing more." After making mention of the meal, we got the bread for free, and I didn't care to take it any further. I simply wanted to get out of the place before I got too pissed and said something I'd regret. Took the check up to the front and we departed without much said about it. I did get a "sorry" from my significant other for the experience. She looked forward to reliving the greatness it had, and I looked forward to sharing it with her... and we would have preferred gas station pizza.

Have been going here once a month every sunday for over 10 years, my family and I love meeting here and having some good pizza and crinkle cut fries. Would not change a single thing about it. Great Great Great food!

Salty, thin crusty, heavenly pizza. There is NOTHING like this place in Mpls. Goes best with a pitcher of light crappy beer. Seriously. go if you're here. This location is better than the Fargo location.

Made a trip all the way out there based on the great reviews. Very disappointed overall. It took almost an hour to get our greasy slab of yuk. The ingredients were not fresh (canned mushrooms) and they cut the slices so small it was like eating mush. Oh and did I mention the place had as much ambiance as a Waffle House and we were the only ones under 70.

It's been at least 10 years since I last ate at Duane's and it hasn't really changed: it's a great place to congregate with family/friends over some cracker-thin crusted pizza that is cut into checkerboard sized squares. There were four of us (my 3 kids and I) and we demolished an order of cheezy garlic bread, a 13" Half & Half (3 meat on onside, Canadian Bacon/green olives/jalapenos on the other) and an 11" 3 meat over canned sodas and lots of laughter. If I ever ate there alone, I probably would see the flaws that other low scorers note, but that would be missing the point of eating at Duane's. Every group that was in the restaurant when we were consisted of a gaggle of family and/or friends yelling, laughing, joking and enjoying themselves. That in itself is worth four stars. :)

Duane's Hous of Pizza is known as the 'best pizza in Moorhead', as they should be. My first visit to Duane's was nothing short of pure pizza bliss! Duane's House of Pizza is made up of thin crust, robust Italian red sauce, & toppings a plenty. We ate @ the restaurant (delivery is also avaliable) & the restaurant is decorated in true 'up north cabin chic'. It has the feel of an old school pizza buffet from the early 90s, complete with the mini salad bar, hidden valley ranch, & garlic cheese bread. A great place with great pizza & good service. We visit Moorhead two-three times a year & will definetly visit Duanes when we go :)

OK...I may be travelling from CA. I am a native to CT and we take our pizza serious. Out in CA, I am yet to find any decent pizza. Then I travel to Fargo, ND and this place came HIGHLY recommended. I have to say this pizza was NOT good at all. It may have filled the hunger gap, but any future visits will NOT include this place in either location. I would rather do without. However, the shining star was the Jo-Jo's...very good.

We were in Fargo visiting our sister and we wanted to hit a local pizza place. After looking over the reviews on Yelp we decided to try Duane's House of Pizza but went for the Moorhead location based on the reviews. The only reason this place got 3 stars was because the pizza was excellent. That and the fact that they were a bit of a comedy club that day so the humor was like an added bonus. I asked the server if she had any pizza recommendations and her answer was, "I'm Vegan, I don't eat it." The rest of the humor included watching the servers drink pop while not visiting any of the tables, forgetting to take our order and after stating we were ready to order our server responded, "Oh, really?" If you are layed back and have a sense of humor then I say try this place because the pizza was great. If you are looking for excellent service and an excellent overall experience you may want to stay away. One last tip, go for lunch. They were running a one topping pizza special for $5.99. Great buy!

Our server was rude and the food tasted off. Avoid the chicken and pizza and salad and you'll be alright. Slow and unfriendly service
