I called Melrose with a really inconvenient request: To make and deliver a birthday cake the next day to a house more than 20 miles away. I fully expected them to say no, but they came through for me! On top of that, there was a huge blizzard the next day, but they still delivered it right on time (even though I had insisted that they could wait another day). The cake was beautiful, the friend to whom I sent it was thrilled, and they really enjoyed it. The price was very reasonable, to boot! Overall, they went above and beyond and made his birthday really special!
A small-town, locally owned Dairy Queen--how much more American can it get? I grew up in this town and to this day still appreciate that we had a DQ. When I was a kid they even had Mini Golf in the back. Not sure if that's still around. If for some reason you haven't been to a DQ before (recently immigrated, live under a rock, were stuck on an island, etc.), what are you waiting for?
A last minute decision on our part tonight to try something new. The pizza was very good! Waitress was a bit slow at the end and we did not know if we paid at the table or at the counter. We will definitely be back for the pizza. The food was served in very good time.
