Never been disappointed with food purchased at Massads - very untypical mall food court food but it really is outstanding. The chicken schwarma is incredible, I would get the children's size as the adult is too much food for me. The falafel wrap is my current favorite - absolutely top notch and always delicious. I would also like to plug the SOUP - word has it the chef's at Olives, thier other restaurant make the soups and it shows. I'm to the point that no matter what kind of soup is served then I'm asked what can we get for you today, my answer is always "SOUP" Yes I mean it, it is that good. Salad dressings from the ones I've tried all appear home made and are wonderful, highly recommend the parmesan peppercorn. If anyone from Massads ever reads this - can you PLEASE bring back the crab salad? I MISS it :( Service is quick, friendly and great food - what more do you want?

Under ten dollars and delicious?! This is absolutely a Turtle approved chicken schwarma! The falafel is really yummy and perfectly moist.

We stopped here for lunch while in town with family. Hubby had the Schwarma, while I had the falafel, both on pita. The falafel was tasty, as was the Schwarma - it had a nice vinegary sauce. Could have used some onion, but a good sandwich nonetheless. Definitely worth stopping in and trying if you're in or around the mall.

I have been a Massad's customer since 1993 when Meray's restaurant was downtown Mankato. I've been eating chicken schwarma from Massad's for a very long time - 20 years. As the Massad family has diversified its Mankato businesses in the last 10 years, the quality of their signature item - the chicken schwarma from Massad's - has suffered. My last visit to Massad's was just before Christmas in 2013. I ordered two Schwarma's from Massad's in the mall. It was the worst I had ever had without question. The chicken was dry and tasteless and luke warm, and the schwarma sauce tasted as if it were mass-produced. Even the pickles, tomatoes and lettuce tasted sub-par. Gone are the days when Massad's would marinate the rotisserie chicken for days before cooking the chicken on the rotisserie. I remember you used to get big chunks of chicken that were golden brown and a little bit of char on them. You could taste the marinade in every bite of a schwarma. John Massad himself used to cut the chicken off the rotisserie and spoon his fresh-made schwarma sauce on the inside of the pita. You could taste that garlic 'bite' from the schwarma sauce and it was like a taste explosion. No longer. Today, the personal touch that made Massad's my favorite Mankato restaurant is long gone replaced with low-wage workers who have no clue about quality control. Mass production seems to have won out over over closely controlled quality that made the schwarma a local Mankato legend. Coupled with the Massad's diversifying their businesses and I think that has also contributed to the precipitous drop in quality. I haven't seen John Massad in his mall store in years and the lack of quality shows. I have read some of the reviews here on Yelp, but these folks really don't know how far the quality of Massad's food has fallen. I wasn't sure if I should even write a review because I am sure Massad's food is still good for the most part and most people probably don't know the difference, but for someone like me who has been a 20 year customer, the quality has fallen off a lot. On my next visit to Mankato, I am likely to skip Massad's for the first time. Ever.

Our intention was to go to the actual restaurant but then it started to snow. Horrible weather and an unwillingness to sit in a hotel room lead us to the local mall. Massad's was surprisingly great for a food court dining experience. Chicken Schwarma, roasted veggie sandwiches, and a falafel wrap made for an excellent dinner. It's not a destination location (probably a 3) but in comparison to the other choices this place is awesome!

Is it odd to go to the mall just to eat at the food court? Not when Massad's is an option. The staff is wonderful and the business is owned by a local family, but the real draw is the food. Their falafel (a vegan-friendly option) is my go-to, but their roasted veggie and hummus wrap is equally delicious. They also have amazing tabouli! Most people that visit Massad's get the chicken schwarma, but don't be afraid to try out some of the other options on the menu. Don't get me wrong, I loved the schwarma in my days as an omni, but I promise that there is much more to Massad's than one sandwich. That being said, the schwarma is still my partner's favorite food.

For mall food, I was really impressed. I think it's funny that half of the time I ate out in Mankato it was at a Massad's restaurant, but to be honest I wasn't exactly bowled over by my options at the mall. My husband didn't get a chance to go to Olives with me for lunch earlier in the trip, and he really likes Med food so I thought I'd try their mall version and compare the two places. I really liked my order here, I actually ordered from the kids menu but it was more than enough food for me. The chicken here was different then at the restaurant somehow I think. Anyways, we were really happy with our choice to eat here and now that I know it's a local joint I like it even more!

High marks for quick serve mall food. The hummus is very good as was their chicken wrap. No fried heart bombs!

Gotta love schwarma's! Massad's has the best schwarma's that I have ever tasted. It is always fun when we come to town to head to River HIlls Mall and grab a schwarma and sit and people watch.

Pleasantly surprised they have another location in Mankato on stadium and monks ave. As well as their location in the River Hills Mall food court. The interior is updated and fresh but i tell you about the food now it's Awesome food I've never been disappointed you can't go wrong with a chicken schwarma they offer it on panini or a wrap they offer different types and Mediterranean sandwiches and salads and pasta salads and a few vegetarian options and have a kids menu. They also have their hummus and schwarma sauce available for purchase which I think is very cool. Can't wait to get back and try something else.

Very unhappy with my choice to go here. Meat was dry, sauce tastes like cheap ceasar dressing (very salty), and they do not allow hummas on their sandwiches... As far from real mediterrian food as you can get

Just recently moved to Mankato and I'm a slave to Massad's. Every time I've been there the food has been fresh, colorful, and cheap. They even have beer to drink in house - unheard of for a "fast food" place that boasts a drive-thru. The service is consistent and the place is always very clean. I'd take Massad's over any other chain by MSU campus.

Subpar overcooked chicken schwarma that has pickles? WTF? This is not schwarma at all. Better rename it Minnesota Chicken Pita Pocket.

The first time I ever came here I was 14 or so and my sister and I took my Grandma out to lunch, her choice! I was very surprised that my grandma, who always seemed so prim and propper, wanted food court mall food - insert gasp! Well, after ordering the chicken schwarma I soon realized why! This thing is amazing. The meat is tender the pita is fresh. All I can picture is Grandma with the sauce dripping down her arm and not even caring - you know its good when Grandma lets her guard down and gets all messy eating food court food in the River Hills mall!
