Yummy yummy yummy, chicken wings in my tummy. That's really all this review should say... it's the best thing about the Choo Choo Bar.. the chicken wings.. they are freaking tasty as hell... I grew up in this general area of Minnesota.. so my family has frequented this place since I was a little kid. I had not been there in about 20 years.. until recently.. and the wings were everything that I remembered them to be. Salty, crispy, and amazing. They are marinated in gin & soy sauce.. so yeah, of course they are good.. Other than the wings.. the place is a-okay.. it's a bar.. it's in Loretto. It's what you'd expect... Go here. Put yummy wings in your tummy.

I started going here when I moved to Loretto, best burgers I've had in some time. The rest of the menu is great but after I move, I'll still be making the drive for one of these burgers now and then.

I gave 4 stars only for the chicken wings.. Haven't tried anything else. It's some of the best wings I've ever had. I usually get the buffalo and choo choo flavor. The choo choo flavor is a dry rub and is popular. Service is hit or miss. I've had it where the waitress did her job perfectly. I've had it where the waitress was so busy talking to me that she WASNT doing her job. And I've had it where the waitress did the bare minimum and seemed a little crabby. Either way I'll return time after time because the wings are that good.

Not a bad place at all. Came here over the weekend for some food and libations. Nice patio with a fire pit outside to take away the nip in the air. From the outside, the place looks pretty big, but as you step inside, one realizes it's much smaller. The main reason is they have a Caboose inside. Seriously, an honest to goodness caboose. Quaint seating within and adds a nice touch of nostalgia, as my grandfather was an engineer for the Milwaukee Railroad. The bar is chock full of locals on the weekend, which makes for a lively bunch. The service was great, but then again, we ordered before the rush of swillers. I had the bacon cheeseburger...it was tasty, but nothing special. Pretty good house chips and comes with a handful of dill pickle slices which are God's gift. The lady had the half rack of ribs. Those were pretty good as well. Garlic mashed potatoes were a nice accompaniment. Decent sized tap list, but I stayed with the trusted friend in a Nordeast. The lady is a lightweight and when she ordered the strawberry daiquiri, they might as well have served it in a pitcher. It was a good thing that I was driving. On the off chance I return to Loretto, I'd consider stopping in again.

Cute bar and grill. Limited menu but it was good. Full bar. They didn't squelch on alcohol. My one drink made me tipsy.

Really cool small town bar! I like this place for the atmosphere and the food is pretty good as well. The chicken wings are the best, get them every time. They also have a chicken buffet that is pretty good, nothing elaborate but good. I would definitely recommend stopping in for a drink and food if you've never been here before.

Food was great, patio was cute. Waitress was rude, and clearly did not want to be there. I felt the need to be extra nice to her just to get a smile (should be the other way around). Disappointing service will not be back.

Food is awesome and the service is just as great. They let us host our fantasy football draft inside the caboose there. Friendly staff and good atmosphere. Love coming here!!

Love the choo choo. Great wings, great cocktails, and ice cold beer. The kitchen closes pretty early, but when it is open they always make great food. Him the bartender is a stand up guy. Can't ever go wrong here, especially if you get the choo choo wings.

Best damn chicken (wings) in the state. I've been going to the Choo Choo bar since I was a little kid (over 30 years). The service is always great, the drinks are always potent and the food is always fantastic. They fairly recently started doing breakfast on the weekends which is another great reason to go. When it gets really busy, the service can be really slow (especially at dinner), but it's always been worth the wait. My wife's Grandpa cast the bell above the bar. Not sure why I think that's cool... I just don't know anyone else that has cast a bar bell.

Been meaning to stop in here after reading reviews.... Wasn't totally impresses but I'm sure we'll give it another try eventually. The menu looks really fabulous with a lot of variety. I made the mistake of ordering the crab cake sliders for my meal (they are an app). They were okay but too rich for a meal. The service was also less than impressive... Very slow and not the friendliest.

Not much happening here when i have been. Cheap beers and regulars. There is a newer patio outside with a nice fire pit. If you want to just roll into a local bar for a pint, this is fine.

We were not there when it was busy. There was only one server but the service was great and so was the food. I'm not one to hang out in bars and it is 25 miles away but I would stop in again for a meal if I happened to be in the area. I thought the salmon sandwich I had was great. I've never seen that anywhere else before. My wife loved her Sicilian steak sandwich. I'm guessing that any of the sandwiches are good. The sourdough roll they were on was especially good. The wings are marinated in soy sauce. For us they seemed very salty but they seem to be working with most of the customers so if I were you I would give them a try.
