I grew up on Carbone's in St. Paul. Now, as a big boy, I moved to Lakeville with the wife and we frequent this location. As you may expect, Carbone's is famous for their pizza. While we do order their pizza from time to time, we like to indulge most on their delicious artichoke dip appetizer with its heaping helping of toast. Most recently my father in-law showed me the glory that is Carbone's pizza fries. These are just silly good. Greasy, cheesy goodness. They are now a second favorite appetizer and honestly we will just be back for these apps and drinks most of the time. Each time we have been to Carbone's has been for football on Sundays but there is always room for seating in there. One side of the restaurant that is hidden by a wall seems to be louder than the other side. We're not sure what that's about (why were we not invited to the party?). Service has always been outstanding here. If you have any issues with food or booze, they take care of you promptly without putting up a stink. We had flat Stella on our hands during our last visit and our server apologized, sampled it and agreed it was flat. They swapped the keg and we were back on track. All smiles the whole time. Overall this is a place with great food (even beyond pizza), great service and large TVs. It is definitely family-friendly and should be visited frequently with or without the kids. Keep up the great service and food Carbone's of Lakeville!!

Love love love their Alfredo! I would challenge anyone to find a better Chicken Alfredo! Very friendly staff and very prompt on to go orders! If you want quiet you can dine on the dining side and the other half is a bar with TVs and more! ~Dottie S.

Very typical Midwest sports bar and lounge. The pizza here is very good and it's a good place to catch a game. I only had beer while I was here, but they also have a full liquor bar. There are a crazy amount of TVs to watch whatever sporting event you would like and the staff is very friendly. I've had a couple sandwiches and would suggest just sticking to the pizza. While they were good, they weren't the most amazing thing I have ever tasted.

I've ordered from here on numerous occasions. However the last few things they've forgotten key pieces of my order. Today they didn't give me dressing for my salad, last time the same thing, and the time before that forgot my cheese bread. It seems like they aren't checking their orders very well before sending their drivers out. The only reason they get 3 states is because the food generally does taste very good when you get your food.

My favorite local pizza joint. Sometimes the sauce is a little too thick, but otherwise it's the best around.

It was OK, clean enough, didn't use the bathroom. Friendly staff. Lots of TVs. Pizza was pretty good. I would eat here again.

It seems to sway between really good and excellent with Carbone's. I have never had a bad experience here(although if you enjoy peace and quiet), have your order to- go or delivered. I am old. The pizza, and the calzone, and the sandwiches are sinfully good. I can't speak much for the service because the delivery is awesome. Please tip the drivers. P.S. I am not a delivery driver, never have been.

I will openly admit that their pizza is good. Just the right amount of sauce and cheese combo. They also have delicious artichoke dip. But this is perhaps all they should place on the menu. Last night we were there and I attempted to order their pasta, again. I thought something as simple as meatballs would be fine to do.The meatballs were not just dense they were too hard to cut with a fork alone and required sawing with a knife. The garlic in them killed my tastebuds. This is the 2nd round with pasta and both very bad expereinces. The wait staff is young and could care less who they were serving or if you had been served. Finally one stopped by the table to ask if anyone had helped us - bless you! Good pizza - order out and save the rest of the menu for NEVER.

Carbone's is the type of place that you go to grab a draft beer and some pizza or a hoagie. I realize that they have separate seating for the restaurant area and games in the back but this is just not a good place for a family meal with the kids. It's loud, the service is not fantastic and I just can't imagine children enjoying the experience. We often go to watch sports and just chill since it's pretty close to our house and the pizza is delightful. We are to the point where we both order pizza or hoagies or appetizers. If you order pizza and say...nachos, there is no guarantee that the nachos won't show up until after you're done eating your pizza. Yes, this has happened to us. We told our waitress that we didn't want them anymore and they took them off of our bill with their apologies then boxed them up and gave them to use because they said they would just toss them otherwise. That being said, the pizza is fantastic. I like the thin crust and we always get the Carbone special. It is special! And delicious! It's salty and cheesy and saucy just like pizza should be. Just don't go here thinking its going to be a fine dining experience cuz it's simply not.

Came for lunch today with three co-workers. I was pleased to see a lunch special with several great and reasonable options (which means I will come back). I ordered the pizza with side salad option for $7 which includes a coke product. The salad had freshly chopped ingredients with a generous portion of Ranch dressing (I did order French). The salad contained ample cherry tomatoes, red onions and thinly sliced cucumbers on a bed of crispy iceberg. The slice of peperoni pizza was piping hot and pretty darn good with very generous portions of mozzarella and peperoni. The pizza was greasy---I liked it that way---on top of a thick yet sometimes crispy crust on the outer part. There was also a good amount of satisfying pizza sauce. The service was also great and the very large projection TV's inside make it a fun sports bar.

Not your typical Carbone's. A fun TV filled bar, servers are hit and miss. Bartenders are usually great. If you have to order one thing, get the Cajun Chicken Pasta. You will not be disappointed!

We 4 adults ate here (2 locals & 2 from OH) for the first time (for OH) on a Friday night around 9pm, after a long day of travel and a cold Farmington H.S. football game, so I was starving! The jalapeno poppers (NOT something I usually eat - for health reasons, but my son ordered to share) were really good. The pizza was good too, and is my MN son's favorite. Perhaps if I wasn't so hungry it might be 3*'s. The service was friendly & good too. The prices seemed reasonable, and the sound level of the TV's was low enough for me, a non-sports fan.

One of the best local pizza chains in town. Great pizza, hoagies and pasta. Menus and prices may vary a little because of different owners. We live close to the Lakeville location and enjoy going here for happy hour or a casual dinner. Sports bar atmosphere with many TVs in the main bar. There is a separate, smaller dining area more for kids and families I guess. Nice decor inside and they have a patio on the side of the building with a heaters, fireplace and a fire table Great happy hour ! Domestic taps are like $1.75; Surly Furious for $2.50 and $4 and $5 appetizers. Don't tell just anyone but, a shot of Jameson is only $3.50 during Happy Hour ! Oh yeah, they have an amazing artichoke dip. CHEERS !

Went to dinner 06/22/13 with 2 adults and 3 kids. Kids ordered mini pizzas and spaghetti - nothing spectacular, but passable - same quality "italian" that you could find at Perkins or Bakers Square. Husband ordered calzone - rated it average to decent. I ordered the club melt and onion rings. Club melt has so much sauce on it it was drowning and greasy, onion rings came out so heavily salted they were inedible. Server took onion rings and sandwich back to kitchen and kept it on the bill until we said something. It's hard to ruin basic diner food, but they did. Multiple TVs playing multiple sports (on mute) in the booth / dining area made for a distracting dinner. I can see this being a good place for a sports bar, but they should have stopped there - not good for family, kids, or anything other than mediocre americanized italian.

Great pizza and pasta. I love the Cajun Chicken Pasta and the Chicken Cobb Salad.... and of course the Carbone's Special. They were just voted best pizza by readers of both Mpls/St Paul Magazine and also MN Sun Newspapers.

I have never had a bad experience at Carbone's in Lakeville. I know everyone has their own opinions on what a real pizza should be, but mine is exactly what comes out of the oven at Carbone's. Thin, hot, crisp, great sauce, & great toppings. It's the perfect package. Their other menu offerings are all fantastic as well. Great sandwiches, burgers, salads, pastas, and more.

Um. I just don't get it. I know this is a very popular spot, but the food is so bad! I think it is overpriced. Yeah, I went in between lunch and dinner. I know the wait staff and kitchen staff might not be at the top of their game. But why does it take 40 minutes to order a chicken sandwich and a pop? Really?

Before I rant, just let me say I did NOT try the pizza, so my rating would possibly be higher if I had... To satisfy the latest set of cravings, I arrived at Carbone's looking for a spicy bloody mary and some hot wings with ranch dressing. When we walked in, the customers were in the mid-20s to late 30's range, and it looked like your typical sports bar crowd: bro-love abounded. My friend and I seated ourselves, because there was not a server to be found, and the bartender didn't even glance our way. This was particularly irksome, because he was not busy. We sat ourselves in a booth, and it was about 10 minutes before a server sauntered over. She asked what we would like to drink in a bored voice, and left with our order. Another 15 minutes later Bored Server came back with our bloodies. Now, I asked for extra veggies, and I know I speak english, so why was there one skinny pickle and one olive in my glass? I didn't push the issue. We then ordered wings and weren't surprised when Bored Waitress came back in another 20 minutes with a measly plate of tiny, over-fried wings with neon orange sauce. Okay, the wings didn't taste awful, but they certainly looked it. Underwhelmed to say the least. Again, I can't justify giving this place one star because I didn't try their specialty. I can only hope the pizza is a redeeming factor for this place.

I have been frequenting this place since it opened, through all of it's iterations and expansions. It stared out as a pizza bar, then added a dance floor and dj booth, then expanded into a sports bar and restaurant that now caters to the MMA and fight club crowd. The pizza is awesome, the beer selection is limited and I don't think they ever had any happy hour specials. It has always been loud, but it is max volume on fight nights.

Say what you will about them; but their pizza is so delish it makes you forget that you are sitting in a crappy sports bar. But some like that sort of thing. The pizza: they cut into squares, is so so scintillating greeeezy that I think my heart slowed a bit. But that's what I want in a pizza-I'm not eating it because it lowers my cholesterol. And I really can't get good pizza here in LA, so when I go home, it's one of the first things I eat. Along with a Grain Belt Premium; it's truly a winning combo. When the waitress came by to see what else we needed; I asked for a bed.

Some of the best pizza around in the south suburbs. I would go there just for the Italina Pizza Fries alone, but the pizza is great. The other parts of the menu aregood too, all-american sytle. Good sports bar to go and catch a game. The bar is always a hot spot for night life south of the river.

Oh how I miss Carbones! I moved out of the area and have cravings for the Super pie. Loaded with cheese, meats, and veggies, this is to die for! Goes great with some salad, ice cold draft beer, and a bunch of friends to share with!

Atmosphere sucks. Very open. Poor service. Pizza is good. If ya throw enough cheese and toppings and get a good grease pond going how can it be bad? Right? Not a huge fan of this place.

This sports bar is not a bad place to go. They are probably best known for their hoagies. If you have one get the assorted hoagie, that's where they put several types of meat on it not just one. It's good for takeout. The hoagies are a step up from Quiznos but also a step up in price. They are probably on par with Potbellies (but you can get beer and catch a game here.) I haven't had the pizza, but it didn't look like anything special. It seems to be a popular bar. If you drive by in the morning (they aren't open in the morning) you can see many people have left their cars in the parking lot there.
