I enjoy this place once in while it's never great but it is close to home I got a Ruben and I'm pretty sure the meat came from a small plastic package it was tough for thin sliced corned beef and lacking flavor the soup it came with was way to salty for me ,being there just after noon and it was 3/4 the way empty I think they need a little change up ,it's a tough economy and people want good food when they go out to eat I'm sure I'll be back but noon to soon

I really wanted to go here upon passing because it sits back off the road and looks like a dark little ski chalet where people that are having affairs would go to meet up secretly. I phoned my husband and had him meet me here for dinner and by the time he got there I was two grey goose cocktails ahead so I was enjoying myself. It is a rather large space inside and had a feel of a warm and cozy supper club. They have a large menu and the waitress told me that most everything is homemade there. I had swedish meatballs and I have never had true swedish meatballs before made in the midwest and I found the ball texture harder than I was anticipating. I grew up on the east coast and used to porcipine balls which have rice and a softer texture. Overall the flavor was great and the gravy and mashed potatoes were awesome. I am just now curious if all Swedish balls are more dense and tough. Any ball experts out there? The husband had the fish sandwich and to be honest I was enjoying my cosmo afterglow so much I don't know what he thought but I think we will be going back to explore more of the menu. Oh I don't think I have to mention it but I appreciated that my bartender Tina listened to how I wanted my drink and delivered it with perfection......yayyyyyyy

CHEESE CURD LOVER'S D E L I G H T !!!! As a cheese curd connoisseur, I can assure you that the only better curds around are at the Minnesota State Fair and The Blue Heron in Hugo. I think the closer you get to Wisconsin the better the curds :-) And if you ever make it to COLBY WI during Colby Days , you will not be disappointed. It's where they make Colby cheese for heavens sake. So, going to the Bungalow is a trip back in time. The décor is a few decades ago, but so what. Our River Falls college student waiter was attentive and accommodating. He even got us a sandwich off the lunch menu well after lunch. Besides the curds, we had perfectly done wings that were an ample size. However, my French dip was bland and lackluster. Not very flavorful beef. Hmmm. Club sandwich OK. This was my 9th , 10th visit in the last 15 years, and it is always a pleasant experience. It is one of those places where if these walls could talk . If you want to by pass Stillwater traffic/parking, stop here. Again, yet another restaurant that presents ice cold rock hard butter with the warm breadsticks. BRING THE BUTTER CHIPS TO ROOM TEMPERATURE !!!

Cool. This place is in a time warp. Kind of like the dinner clubs your parents would take you to on Sundays. Atmosphere aside, the foods pretty good. Recommend the Chicken St Croix. Friendly service and reasonable prices.

Went there last week and was very unhappy. Walleye tasted fishy,(old?), and steak over done. Garlic smashed potatoes not even edible, tasted like soupy instant mixed with large chunks of potatoes. With a group of 17 and they limited us to 4 choices on the menu. WHY? One person wanted just a salad off menu and they made a huge deal about making the exception. Server was very pleasant and did a great job but we will not return.

I have always had good food and service here! I know you can't be a server here unless your 18, the person who seats you is probly in highschool! and i have had a party here, they are not a banquet hall so it does depend on the size of the party you have & on friday & saturday nights they are SO busy with walk in and reservations that it had to be before 5 or after 7:30, Thats a good problem to have i would say! we didnt want a banquet hall because you pay more for that! Its nice to see the same faces working every week! i eat out alot and usually disappointed! im a celiac and the bungalow has many options! In fact they are starting with gluten free bread! You have come a long ways bungalow from 5 years ago! Keep up the good work! The homemade food is hard to find these days at great prices!

I had a late lunch here with a friend a few Sundays ago. I entered with a bit of trepidation given that it appeared to be a bar, but I found the food very good. Pretty standard menu but well done. I had the tuna melt which was freshly prepared as was my friend's cobb salad. The cobb salad had a lot of nice looking ingredients and I think I would try that next time. Portions were large. Service was good and the place appears to be a friendly local hang out. I would certainly go back if in the area.

Great place all around! The food is delicious and the ambience is very comfortable and laid back. They offer a Friday night fish fry as well as a prime rib special on Saturday night. I've been coming here for years and will continue to do so.

I don't know what these people were smokin, but the food and people are great. If you don't like friendly people and home cooking done well. Then eat here.

I have never had a great meal here, but I've certainly had decent ones. The bar is pretty good, the staff pretty nice, and the decor is pretty ok for being in a weird location. You can expect a huge portion of Midwest food with more fat/cholesterol in one sitting than anyone probably needs. But, I think we all need that now and again. As a purebred Midwesterner, I know I do.

Reminds me of that perfect place you'd take your mom for her birthday. I'm sure dad would like it too. Our high school server did a really good job. The burgers are tasty here! Liked their coleslaw too.

New management has apparently not upheld the high standards demanded by the former owner - Bungalow Bill. The recent reviews seem to indicate that things have changed.

So, this place isn't a 4 because of the decor or location. But my family lives in Lakeland, so when I visit, which is every year...we go to the Bungalow. Why is this place so important? It's one of the only resturants in city limits and serves some decent lake fish and fried cheese curds. Service: Meh, who ever the local high school kid is that day Decor: Your grandma's house Food: Sink to your gut, good old home style cooking. Don't eat here if you have a history of heart problems, digestive problems or other wise unable to consume a fried fish.

This place gave my friend food poisoning the day before we were in a wedding! They ran my card at the bar before asking me if that's what I wanted and way over charged me. The bartender "corrected" it and when I checked my account I was charged twice!
