Inviting and comfortable atmosphere. Friendly and knowledgable service. My wife ordered the fettuccine alfredo. The pasta is homemade, and the sauce rich and lovely. My salmon special was also very tasty and well presented. For dessert, my wife got a creme brulee and rated it an 8, which is pretty good because she is a bit of a creme brulee snob. Bernardo, one of the owners took the time to stop by our table and chat. Overall it was a great experience, and we will definitely return.

I have been wanting to try this place ever since they opened, tonight a great evening to sit on the patio and enjoy a meal, or so I thought... I ordered the special (champagne chicken) the meal was served with green beans and mashed baby reds. The mashed potatoes were very tasty and had a unique flavor. The green beans seemed fresh but was glazed with some sort of Asian teriyaki sauce that was over bearing and did not compliment the dish. This leaves me to the chicken. At first glance it looked great then I cut into it, it was tough or rubbery if you will. Once I took the first bite I knew this was a prebreadded fried chicken breast that had a bland poor attempt at a champagne reduction on top. So very disappointing, it is not difficult to use fresh chicken breast and make a flavorful reduction. I would pass on this place in the future. On a side note the sever Katie was wonderful and pleasant.

We had been trying to get in here for dinner ever since they had their soft opening. Bella Vista has taken over the space that used to be the Mississippi Belle which was closed several years ago after a slow steady decline. The new Bella Vista is a welcome treat. Nice décor, a mix of tables and large booths, a nice bar which greets you as you enter and several smaller tables for two in the bar area. They also installed some large windows in the front and side of the building which really lightens the place up. Here are some of my thoughts of the highs and lows and because there were both, I settled on a four. A future visit may well bring me to a five star rating. When we arrived we were told by the hostess that it would be a 20 to 25 minute wait. No problem we sat at the bar and ordered a libation. I ordered a Rob Roy which was very good. My husband ordered a local craft beer - not much can go wrong with that, and our third dining companion a glass of Prosecco. We also ordered an appetizer which was an angel hair pasta creation with two scallops and a lobster cream sauce. It was delicious but had a little too much of the angel hair for my taste. Our drinks were about finished and it was well past the 25 minute mark when my husband went up to the hostess and she said it would be another 20 to 25 minutes. Fortunately a table opened up for us much sooner that that. The place was hoppin as we heard it has been every night for dinner. It took a little bit of time for our server to get our drink orders and then our dinner orders. When the drinks came we also got a basket of rosemary bread. It was tasty but would have been so much more so if it had been warm. Also the olive oil for dipping was somehow off. We all stayed away from it and I ordered some butter which came in very cold hard little paper wrapped pats. I had ordered a glass of the house white to have with dinner and my husband got a manhattan which he declared to be very good. Onto the entrees which were fantastic - definitely five stars on those. My chicken piccata was the best I've ever had and it came with scrumptious smashed potatoes, a perfect accompaniment. Our other two meals were the seafood soup and spaghetti con vongole. Both were considered excellent!! The acoustics were pretty bad, but most of the artwork had not arrived yet. That should probably take care of absorbing some of the noise of happy, satisfied diners. We were all very pleased. For me this was at the top end of four stars. Next visit - and there will be many more I hope - this could slip into the five range. Yeah Hastings for having this little gem!!

Was looking forward to coming here for some time. I love fancy Italian restaurants because many of them have fresh made noodles in house. Those that have had them can tell right away if the noodles are fresh. Chewy, stretchy and snappy all in one delectable bite. I was looking forward to that when I ordered my lobster fettuccine and I made sure to ask the waitress if the noodles were made in house, she replied yes. I'm pretty sure what I got was a bowl of creamette crap with some Ragu Alfredo sauce and 3 lobster bites for $17. We had the birds nest appetizer that was mind blowing, but the lobster fettuccine just plain blew. Make the trek to Broders for a real bowl of pasta for a better price! I'm pretty sure these noodles look too perfect and are too reminiscent of my poor college days to be made fresh. I hate being lied to, but you can be the judge...

Fantastic! The atmosphere, music and got-it-together wait staff all contributed to an outstanding lunch for the family. The six and a quarter of us had calamari, bruschetta, two lasagne, seafood ravioli, tortellini, meatball sub and salads. This food was amazing, hot and fresh - perfectly seasoned and just the right portion size for lunch. The prices were good, the whole place was clean. Makes me want to move here. I wonder if they do mail order?

This place is great! The food is yummy! I just wish they had a patio out back that faced the river.

Driving back from Red Wing it was around lunch time, and there's an area a couple of streets parallel to the main road, 61. And it's very quiet. As great as this menu looked I ordered a fish sandwich and a soup. Both were delicious. We went back recently for dinner. I had the shrimp scampi, and it was average, and a simple marinara sauce on the angel hair pasta. But the deal breaker was the Italian nachos.Topped with loads of shrimp, black olives, pepperochini, and a seafood cream sauce, with hot pita chips to dip. The service was great. Background music is questionable. Golden oldies may be great in an old style Italian dive in the Northeast, but not here, will definitely quell your sense of the romantic.

Went here on a date and was pleasantly surprised. We walk in and stand around for a moment to wait to get seated. After a few moments, a woman at a laptop who I will assume is the owner seated us. The decor is modern and packs a lot of saturation. The paintings made my SO want to barf but other than that the atmosphere was spot on. As frustrating as it is when a menu is tiny (yeah guys the wine list is longer) that normally signals that they've mastered what actually made it onto the menu. Get the birds nest app when you go. We didn't order it and man did it suck when everyone else in the place got it. It looks so good! The SO and I both ordered pasta and they were cooked well. If the noodles are so much as a hair past al dente, he wont eat them. The bowls they serve them in can be a bit deceiving. I kept eating and the bottom never showed itself. Our waitress was very personable and sweet. We also got the panna cotta which was good. Me having to pee is what gives this place 5 stars. I walk into the ladies rooms and it's like this little oasis!! They thought of everything in there. The place had a smell good candle lit and it's decorated well. There's a baby changing station and a little cart full of things us girls always need. Tissue, hygiene products, and a covered trash can. It was like being at home! 5/5 would use potty and eat there again.

Oh what a great place for dinner. This place hasn't even had its Grand Opening, yet it is already packed every night for dinner. First, these new owners smartly gutted the old Mississippi Belle and brought this location back to life, allowing it to fit perfectly into the Minneapolis St. Paul restaurant scene. It's now clean, contemporary, and correctly lit, with an atmosphere and floor plan any restaurateur would be proud of. Our meal started with a delicious Rosemary Bread. Our appetizers followed with The Birds Nest, which was a very good and fun appetizer of perfectly cooked scallops nested in deep fried angel hair pasta. The crab cakes were very tasty with a nice sauce and well prepared. We also shared a beet salad with goat cheese and a good quality balsamic. Simply put, the beet salad was to die for. We then had entrees of chicken piccotta and lobster fettuccine. The chicken was moist and perfectly cooked with a great balance, which is often hard for many other restaurants considering the capers which are integral to the dish can overpower. The lobster fettuccine was absolutely delicious with a properly executed sauce infused with a seafood flavor such a dish deserves in a fine restaurant. Our meal was followed with an excellent crème brulee and fruit. All in all, the service was very solid and the timing between courses was perfectly measured. Even the bus people were constantly on top of their game and I watched curiously as they turned around the tables in mere minutes, literally cleaning them from top to bottom in the process. (Some restaurants barely clean the table tops with dirty cloths, much less clean under the tables between every serving.) This local area has been known far too long for serving mass quantities of average to mediocre quality food. NOT NOW. Hastings now has Bella Vista, an Italian restaurant with a diverse menu that serves the same fine quality dishes you would expect at any 5 star downtown restaurant, but in atmosphere that is as comfortable and non-pretentious as any you will ever find. This was one of the most pleasing meals I have ever experienced and in my view one of the finest restaurants anywhere in the South Eastern suburbs. Definitely worth a drive. Bravo!

Extremely disappointing date night! My husband and I love to try new places and support our local businesses, so when we saw a Groupon for Bella Vista in Hastings we knew we had to try it. The night started out great with the nice atmosphere of the restaurant and a nice waitress but these were the only good points of the night. First of all the food was mediocre at best for too much $$. This was not the worst part of our experience though. The worst part came when the owner would not honor our Groupon! The waitress told us they were having problems with it and she got the owner for us to talk to. The owner came over and apologized but said Groupon "screwed up" the deal and she would not take it. We explained that obviously this was something she should deal with thru Groupon and it was not our fault (and as the saying goes The customer is always right) but she refused to honor something we paid for for her establishment. During our conversation I told her I had worked in the restaurant industry for 20+ years and my parents own a restaurant and we have never had such horrible abrasive customer service (especially from a new owner!!). Needless to say we will never go back and do not recommend it to anyone.

We've been here 3 times and have not been disappointed. The food is good, there are some creative dishes, especially on the appetizer side and the staff is friendly and efficient. In Hastings, this is as close as you are going to get to "fine dining".

Saturday night was a planned "date night" for me, the missus and her sister, so we dropped the kiddos off at the Y and headed down to Bella Vista to try it out. I do think that an escape from the constant noise of 3 & 6 year old boys tends to affect one's expectations, i.e. we didn't walk in with HUGE expectations, but we did have our novice critics' hats on. We arrived around 5:30pm and we were seated at a back table right away. All three of us immediately commented on the "rustic contemporary" decor, terrific lighting, and comfortable seating...the remodeling of the space is quite impressive considering what a dump it was just 6 months ago. Our server was friendly, helpful and completely familiar with the menu; she shared her favorites and most popular items and we ordered a bottle of wine (Sauv Blanc) to start. We wanted to try several items so we decided to share everything. We kicked things off with two appetizers: the Bird's Nest (great flavors & texture) and calamari (loved the kick in the marinara), as well as a Caeser salad. It was a great start and the perfect amount for 3 people, if not enough for 4 as we did leave some on the plates. For the entree we tried the Bolognese, which was delicious. The dessert tray was too much to resist, so we shared a slice of pumpkin cheesecake, and I can honestly say it was the finest piece of cheesecake I've ever eaten. It went perfect with coffee...decaf for one and espresso for me. Summing it up, I wouldn't say that everything about our experience was perfect, but the experience was relaxing and enjoyable and overall I walked away feeling like we just discovered a hidden gem. And the best part is it's only 6 blocks from home! There were several items on the menu that we want to try so we'll definitely be going back. We're so happy to finally have a contemporary fine dining establishment in Hastings...buon appetito!

Wonderfully renovated space with an inviting and cool vibe. We were greeted warmly and received prompt service throughout our visit. For an app, we ordered the Bird's Nest. It was absolutely delicious. The scallops were perfectly cooked and the lobster sauce was rich and sweet and skillfully balanced by the pesto sauce. Yum. For entrees we ordered the Lamb Chops and the Bag 'o Sea Food. The lamb chops had an amazing grilled char and were drizzled with that delicious pesto. The sides did NOT disappoint. Fricken delicious mashed potatoes and crunchy teriyaki glazed green beans. Shut up. The sea food entree was in a spicy broth with a wonderful depth of flavor. It had a nice mix of meats and shellfish. The pasta was not overcooked and it was all well seasoned. The sauvignon blanc the waitress, Samatha, suggested paired perfectly with it! Excited to have this affordable, high end restaurant in Hastings! Excited to come visit in the summer when they open their patio!

I absolutely love this restaurant! The food is great, the atmosphere is really cool, and it costs enough that obnoxious familes with screaming children dont come! Ive had great service each time I go, and every item on the menu Ive had has been stellar! I will continuously be coming back!

The food is above average and for a small town restaurant. I have ordered the Chicken Marsala the 2 times I have eaten dinner at Bella Vista and I would highly recommend this restaurant for dining in Hasting. The service has always been very friendly, fast and accommodating. My only concerns is that my Chicken Marsala was a little too salty and the olive oil dip for the bread could use a little Italian seasoning.

We tried Bella Vista for the first time a few weeks ago and the service and food was great. Had been telling everyone to give it a try. Went last night and something was terribly different. Service was not good. Staff was complaining and not focused on the customers. The meatball sliders were raw. The chicken parm was undercooked. After being up all night sick I am hesitate to go back. Very disappointed.

The decor is perfect for the space and the vibe they created. We were told we had a 15 minute wait but there was room at the bar so we bellied up. We were sat in less than 10 minutes. We were put in a booth and it was honestly the most comfortable booth I had ever been in! The dining room was packed and the waiters were obviously busy, but our waiter made sure to stop by quick (with his hands full of meals) to let us know he would be right with us. When he returned, he took the time to explain the off menu specials and answer any questions. He "sold" the off menu items so well that two of the people I was with changed their minds and ordered the specials and they were both happy they did. I had the tomato oregano mussels and Lobster Linguine. Both were fantastic and the portions are plentiful! While we were eating, one of the owners stopped by to make sure we were enjoying food. There is really nothing I bad I can say about the place. I can't wait to go back. I already know that I am ordering the crab cakes and Bag-o-Seafood!

My wife and I visited my mother in Hastings last night, and made a point to stop by the "new place" in town... Bella Vista on 2nd St. As we walked up to the front door, 4 women were leaving, each with a huge smile on their face, and carrying leftover containers (points to portion size...). I asked "how was your meal". They all nodded and continued to smile, and made sure we knew Tuesday night is "half price wine night". Definitely took advantage of that, along with 6 really nice food items from the menu. Simple dish names, each extremely well crafted and presented. Prices VERY reasonable for such high quality food. Our server just happened to be one of the owners (Jennifer), and she was relaxed, friendly, knowledgable and made some great food recommendations. The rest of the staff was attentive as well. We all noted how hot the food was when we were served... Bella Vista is a new treasure in an old building. Hopefully the residents of Hastings will recognize and value this, and show their support while this fun, on-trend independent restaurant gains traction!

About Taco Bell

Taco Bell is a haven for Mexican delicacies such as tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos, and other specialty items. Owned by Yum! Brands, Inc. Taco Bell is one of the fastest growing American chains of fast food restaurants. The restaurant operates from 7,072 different locations which are mostly run by independent franchisees and licensees.

The background story of Taco Bell is interesting and inspiring for budding entrepreneurs. The fast-food brand is the brainchild of Glen Bell, who started his first food venture as a hot dog seller in San Bernardino, California. The year was 1948. After witnessing long queues outside a Mexican restaurant called Mitla Café across the street, Bell saw the opportunity and demand for hard-shelled Tacos. He reverse-engineered the recipe and later started selling Tacos and called the venture Taco-Tia.

Later, the name changed from Taco-Tia to El Taco. Eventually, Glen Bell sold the company to his partner and opened the first Taco Bell in Downey in 1962. By 1964, the restaurant also got its first franchise in Torrance. The 100th Taco Bell restaurant was opened by 1965. PepsiCo acquired Taco Bell from Glen Bell in 1978 and the restaurant brand is currently a subsidiary of Yum! Brands which looks after the restaurant business of PepsiCo.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
