I cannot believe this is rated a 3.5 stars. The service is great, food is fresh and creative...quiet yourself you self-proclaimed food critics. It's great, authentic, fresh food a half block from Lake Minnetonka in beautiful downtown Excelsior. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention their house margs that are fantastic. Oh, and I'm 6'6". I'm NEVER hungry after leaving there...just trying to figure out how miserable I'm going to be after getting a scoop at Lick's during the summer months.

Great food and service. Only downside here was the cost. It's a little spendy for 3 small tacos. Great flavor and options though!

Ok so I was excited to see a Mexican restaurant in Excelsior when we first moved here, however I've been disappointed on several occasions when eating here. First, the food. I had the chicken tinga tacos - they were tacos smothered in a heavy tomato based salsa. There are so many different ways to make tinga, but these just didn't hit it. It tasted like they drowned their tacos in the salsa they serve with their chips - not good. Second time I ate here I had fish tacos which completely fell apart with their sauce, it was too messy to enjoy. Lastly, the service at the bar was great. They were fast and friendly. When we sat at a booth however, our waitress was really rude! She was hurrying us through our order and seemed irritated that we were there. Oh well!

Disappointed!!!! Monster burrito was cold, chewy and considerably malnourished - especially when compared to Chipotle. We were still hungry after dinner and ordered an appetizer, which was good. Jamison was a short, short pour. Look if I go.to Chipotle and get this, I'll deal with it. but these aren't Chipotle prices; nor should be both be hungry after our entree.

Tried the lobster tacos and the sesame chicken tacos. Everything was really fresh! Lobster tacos were not too full of flavor so we were disappointed. The sesame chicken tacos were a nice twist on Asian and Mexican. They put two corn tortillas on every taco, and it is just too much bread which dilutes the flavor. Service was great.

Great tacos, great atmosphere, great service. My wife and I have visited several times and enjoyed each visit. The sesame chicken tacos are my favorite and they have Pacifico on tap.

Before I even start this review, I'm going on record that Excelsior seems like a cool town. I'm in the Twin Cities for work this week/weekend, and didn't feel like battling traffic, so I decided to take the short drive west to this charming town. + Great venue - right along Water Street + Open, airy; lots of seating, but didn't feel cramped + Plenty of televisions - The televisions at the bar are a bit "in your face" - quite large and sorta' low + Happy Hour runs 3-6pm + Friendly, prompt bartenders + Not a huge tap selection, but there are some unique ones available + Two size options (16oz and 25oz) - Pints were a bit pricey, even with happy hour (around $6/per) + Guacamole appetizer was good; chips were crisp, guac was decent - Shredded lettuce at bottom of guac was unusual - Very light on pico de gallo (almost like a garnish) + Thank you for including a lime on the side; brightened things up nicely + Tacos. Wow. I'm a fan of tacos, so when I saw the menu, my eyes lit-up, my Pavlovian response was triggered, and I felt like a kid in a candy (er, taco) store. Tons of selections, and, unbeknownst to me initially, you can mix-and-match the tacos at will. + Pastor taco: super tender, tons of flavor, nice pineapple accent + Steak taco: perfectly grilled/griddled steak, gorgeous blend of flavors + BLT taco: pork belly. You're welcome. Aside from the beer, prices were fair; I was in-and-out after 2 brews, guac, and chips for just under $30. The only odd part? I was there around 5:30pm, and I found it odd that the owners were doing paperwork and quizzing the staff about tips, etc., right out in the open. One of the managers/owners was quite literally counting cash and completing deposit slips (or something) about a foot from me. Not a big deal, just sort of unusual. Were I a resident, I'd frequent this place quite often.

My buddies and I were in Excelsior for a brewpub trip to Excelsior Brewing, so we hit Lago Tacos for some brunch. The staff was super cool and I ordered an Enki IPA, a new brewery near Lake Minnetonka. Good stuff. I ordered the tinga chicken burrito breakfast, but in bowl form. Tons of eggs and fresh and flavorful pulled chicken with tons of grilled peppers on the side. Amazing! Everything was super juicy and flavorful. The eggs were full and fluffy. Great breakfast plate. They also had some great breakfast potatoes with slick salsa that accompanied it. My friends got bloody Mary's, which they said had great tomato flavor. They also came with a flash fried pickle. Beautiful! I have had fried pickles, and this was by far the best ever. Super great waitresses too. Good times!

My wife and I were searching for breakfast in Excelsior and we ended up here due to default. Most restaurants around town don't open till 10am, but Lagos was open. What a surprising treat!! The food was fresh, sizeable, simply excellent. The staff were warm and welcoming. I had the garden omelette which was out of this world. My wife had the pork green chile (a recommendation from the server) which she loved. Well done everyone, Excelsior is in dire need of a warm, welcoming spot. In our experience the only other restaurant that makes you feel welcome is O'Connors. The others have an attitude of pompous entitlement. We are heading back to Lagos for dinner tonight. Hoping it's as good!

Yum. A little gem in Excelsior. The service was good (we sat at the bar) and the food was flavorful and hot. We had empanadas and mahi mahi tacos, we enjoyed both.

I want to love this place, but they keep missing the mark. Let's start with the chips, which is where most Mexican/taco places begin. They charge $7.50 for them! WTF! Ok, so I get they're not free, but $7.50 and get this, NO REFILLS on salsa. I could probably support your policy on not refilling guac, but no salsa refill? Next I should mention drinks. I liked the tap selection. New Belgium "Slow Ride" in particular. Margaritas left me disappointed again though. Cost $11, sized in a rocks/low ball glass. WAY overpriced. Tacos. This should be where they standout. I had the guava pork and my wife had the surf and turf. Her complaint was the apparent one shrimp per taco rule. Mine was the consistency of the shredded pork. Seemed like some type of canned compressed meat. Not sure we'll be back. Excelsior is pretty competitive for your dining $$$.

Some of the best food in town. All are amazing. Sesame Chicken tacos are unbelievably good. Always a solid choice. Only down-sides are a small-ish space and what seems to be some training needed on newer staff before they're throw in. Don't let it stop you from going!

Trendy tacos and burritos. My favorite tacos are Sesame, Coconut Shrmip and Guava BBQ Pork. The refried beans are perfect and the Corn cake is very flavorful. As far as drinks go, try the Mojitorita. Great date night spot-head over to Adele's for frozen custard afterwards.

  • Kimberly E.

No horchata!! Knew I wasn't at a true taqueria. Otherwise, veggie tacos and fried walleye tacos were tasty. Strange menu...Have to get three of same tacos with side of rice OR beans or corncake. The latter was def disappointing at room temp. Beans were delish even if a small portion. Would have liked salsa options over hot sauce (siracha and ketchup?). Local beers. Waitress was stiff but fairly attentive.

21 check-ins. Nuff said? Good food! The staff is great and the apps, burritos, and sauces work for me. I always order a side of of jalepenos to kick it up a notch" I prefer the steak(flank). Tasty and smothered is a nice touch occasionally.

  • Aeron R.

Expensive, loud, and cramped. Theirs high priced menu is clearly not driven by cost of ingredients. The main ingredients at Lago are rice and iceberg lettuce. Not recommended for vegetarians. The weak margarita wasn't too sugary tho, it was too sour.

  • Carlos G.

I have been to this location 2x in the past month. They have a decent selection of local brews (plus some Mexican options) and tequilas. I usually order the Excelsior brew option if not then I go with a mexican beer for the food. I also had a great mint margarita, great flavor and not too strong. The food is great but dont expect to get authentic taqueria food here folks. But if you are open to the concept of fusion cooking then yes its good. The habanero sauce which I thought was going to be horribly hot was mild at best. The corn cakes are great!!! The ambience is very nice, good looking people show up every time I am there. And it you are there at sunset you get a free shot if you sit by the bar. :)

Great street tacos in MN. We've had better in other states, but in Minneapolis, these are tough to beat. We loved the lobster tacos, they have a nice bar atmosphere, and it's prime location near Lake Minnetonka.

I really like this place. The fish tacos are my favorite, but the beef ones are good also. Great atmosphere friendly staff. Can be crowded on the weekends. If you arrive later you will probably be seated right away.

  • John R.

We had two versions of fish tacos. Very good but not distinctive or memorable. Portions are quite substantial, we took quite a bit home. Service was average and they weren't yet busy. Given the size of the portions the pricing is reasonable. I'd go back if for no other reason the location in downtown Excelsior, a favorite destination of ours.

  • Chris J.

Tacos were tasty and enjoyable. The ceviche was good with the exception of only being given a couple chips to eat it with, asking more more brought out a couple more but we ended up taking half home to eat with chips. If you get the Water Street drink be forwarned, this drink is really spicy! Also, while there are a number of large TV, don't expect to hear the game. Strictly muzak on the sound system.

Stopped in here yesterday and had a delightful lunch. I arrived around 11 a.m. on a Tuesday and we were the only table occupied in the place. The space is really cute and cozy -- fits right into downtown Excelsior. Our server was attentive and friendly. I had the walleye burrito bowl -- YUMMMM. Love the option to get your burrito in a bowl with no tortilla and all the fillings (including sauce) in their own neat little spot on the place so you control how much of each item in in each bite. It's possible I'm a control freak about eating. Anyway, everything tasted super fresh and the fried walleye was a great addition to the traditional burrito items. Also, get the sweet corn cake on the side. It's fantastic! Prices were reasonable -- I paid $15 for my meal and a Diet Coke and left STUFFED. There is a parking lot in the back as well as free parking on the street in front. Will definitely come back here in the evening to sample some margaritas.

I was there on Saturday night and they were falsifying a fundraiser for the Excelsior 4th of July Fireworks display through the sale of their tequila shots; NOT TRUE!!! All proceeds were just going right back to the establishment. All local residents who thought they were donating to a cause, should get their money back. Staff are rude and I would NEVER recommend this establishment! FRAUD!

  • Marc S.

They will definitely survive. I liked what I got, I had al pastor, chicken tinga, and carnitas. I liked the al pastor a lot, the mango salsa was perfect on it, the tinga was a little smokier than I prefer(i've never been a huge fan of tinga but I decided to get it anyway) and it was kinda dry(common in chicken taco's in my opinion), but not bad by any stretch, and the carnitas were really good, I loved them all and will definitely be helping them survive in Excelsior by parting with my money regularly.

Lago Tacos is exactly what we have needed out here in the Western Suburbs. Their steak quesadillas are the best I've ever had. Their Walleye Tacos are divine. I really recommend trying their Traditional Margarita. It's made with fresh squeezed limes and agave, very tasty. If you are lucky to be there at sunset bartender Jesse does a fun group sunset toast. They start serving breakfast on March 16th, can't wait to try that menu. Leave time after your meal to stroll through Excelsior and take in the rest of the town.

Came in on a Saturday night around 9:30pm. Place not too busy. Waited a while for service with my group of 6. We ordered several appetizers and drinks, one was nachos- got a plate of 6 or 7 chips (seriously) with melted cheese, and green onions for $11.95. We looked to complain but our server did not return to our table. We paid at the bar and left. Too many better places to eat then here. Hope they do better.

OK - I REALLY REALLY wanted to like this place since I live so close to it and I support local businesses but the food was very average. I tried a sampling of many of the tacos: mahi, carnita, chicken, shrimp, etc. and all of them were bland and and lacked any type of spice. The beans were also bland and tasted like they came out of a can and the food in general was all a bit cold. We ordered an interesting sounding appetizer of fried avocado and it came out just like that - fried avocado with some type or ranch dressing - it needing something fresh to balance out the richness - fresh jalapenos, lime wedges, something green but was just heavy and greasy. They also charge extra for quite a few things - the tacos come with no sauces whatsoever - want sauce - costs extra - want chips - costs extra. The prices already are not cheap and the food taste certainly doesn't justify the price. Don't expect Barrio flavor or quality and certainly not the authentic taco spots in Minneapolis like at Midtown Global Market like Sonora Grill (amazing place). I am hopeful that this is just part of being new and that the owners will take some of the feedback and integrate it. If you are going to charge what you do for tacos - throw in some salsa, throw in some chips - something. Some food quality and flavor opportunities as well. I DO plan to go back however and give the place another chance especially when they start breakfast mid March and hope to be writing a revised review of having had a fantastic experience. I'm rooting for you Lago Tacos!!! Even though this was my experience - look at all the other glowing reviews and give it a try yourself.

The first time I visited Lago Tacos, they'd been open for approximately a week. (This was March 2013.) At that time, I gave them three stars - it was a fine experience, but nothing overwhelmed me, the food was kind of dull, the drinks were meh, and it was too expensive. I also promised to come back after that review - and after Lago Tacos had some time to work through the pains of opening a new business. This time, my experience was very different. My strawberry margarita was really good! I had the chicken tinga burrito, which had many complex flavors. (Really!) The chicken was pulled finely, but still chunky enough to be authentic. There wasn't too much cheese, the avocado was obviously fresh, and the pico de gallo was a home run. Here's the real standout, though. Jorge's Jalapenos. I anticipated, when we ordered these, that they would pretty much just be jalapeno poppers. No way, Jorge! They had halved the jalapenos lengthwise, stuffed them with avocado, cheese, and a little pico, topped with very light sour cream and crumbled cheese, and had flash-friend the battered jalapeno. It was like a popper, but so so so much better. Well done, Lago. Not only have you grown up in a year, you've grown up to be really, really good! We'll definitely be back often to try the rest of your menu!

Great place to eat! And they even deliver to the dock! I have never been disappointed with anything I've tried. The spicy jalapeño margarita is to die for!

  • Andrew C.

As usual, the food is just "okay" here. Everything tasted fine, but the burrito was soggy, and messy. Plus, they charge extra for even a tiny amount if salsa, (really guys?, for tacos sake, just incorporate into the price of everything! All around the food continues to look and taste unimpressive when you can get better tacos and burritos with all the salsa, poco, and cilantro you want for less $$$ at Pinedas.

I really wanted to love this place. We stopped in on our way to the cities. I have to say we ordered the lobster tacos, and my son who is 8 had the chicken tenders. The lobster tacos had no flavor and I think there was two flakes of lobster which may have been canned. We waited 5 hours to stop in and eat because we wanted to try it. We should have stopped in duluth, would not have missed anything. Now I have to say our server was very nice and good at her job. My son had the best meal of the day, his chicken tenders were phenomenal. Maybe we will give it another chance some time and order anything but lobster.

My husband and I were so excited when Lago's opened as we love Mexican food and live in Shorewood. We really wanted to like this place and have returned 4-5 times but every time we are dissapointed. The food is just okay and is quite expensive for what you get. Chips and salsa are not included which is very dissapointing and nothing is very spicy or hot. Service has varied depending on our visit but has never been outstanding.

When I saw a Mexican place opened up in Excelsior, I was ecstatic! Especially since growing up in Chicago, Mexican street food was a staple for my diet. (This is not a healthy admission FYI!! LOL!) Walking into Lago I was extremely impressed by the look of the place. Great bar, clean place, and the servers were really nice. The only issue I had with the staff was their lack of knowledge of the food. What kind of place does not require every staff member to try and have intimate knowledge of the food? This is the basics. Now lets talk about the food. Besides being WAY overpriced and way under seasoned for Latin street food, it was just all okay at best. My family ordered the beef and potato tacos, steak burrito, cheese quesadilla, guacamole, fried avocado, corn cakes, and rice. I am going to go through each of these one by one. Beef Tacos w/ Potato: Yes, this mixture is traditional Mexican and I really like it. What I do not like is the fact the the mixture was way under seasoned. It was just okay. It almost had the flavor of Taco Bell, which is not a compliment. The other thing that really made me upset was that there was no limes given with my tacos. You have to serve lime with these tacos, it is the acid it needs. Steak Burrito: I saw another post about this burrito reminding them of Chipotle, to which I believe that is insulting to Chipotle. The steak had no flavor at all. I was looking forward to a nicely grilled flank steak that was well seasoned or marinated, then placed in the burrito. Instead I got this nasty grey steak with way to much iceberg lettuce and again under-seasoned beans and what ever else was in there. ----I did get a side of "Hot Sauce" which again had no flavor at all. Cheese Quesadilla: These were okay, like they should be. My only problem here was that sour creme, or better yet Mexican Crema was not offered when I ordered. Also, I was told that the only was to get Cheese only Quesadilla was to get them from the kids menu, because the full size was steak only. I HATE when a place tells me no. I am a customer, I don't care if it is not on your menu, you have tortillas and cheese, go make it. Guacamole: First off it is not even on the menu by it self. Second of all, if I order it, wouldn't you think to ask if I need chips. Not here, just the guac.... My other issue is again under seasoning. I don't know if they just ran out of salt and pepper, but had no flavor. Needed more onion, jalapeño, lime, and especially cilantro!! Fried Avocado - Okay I love when places try something new, but this was a miss for me. It was just a nasty greasy mess that was just mush on mush. I think this could be successful, but the chef needs to tweak this more. Think texture, and maybe some lime zest in the batter. Just needs something that is missing. Corn Cakes: Yet again under seasoned, and so greasy! I love corn cakes, and these just need some help and could be great. Your cook is just messing you up! Rice: Having a Mexican Grandmother beans and rice are a passion of mine. My first issue was I was told you do not offer beans and rice together...Seriously!? The second issue was that your rice is not fresh. You can taste it at the first bite that the rice was cooked a few days ago, or is out of a can. This is just insulting! I am not going to give up on this place, because Excelsior really needs a great Mexican spot. But, the owner needs to kick his chefs into high gear and get them working on the food. Also, his staff needs to learn their menu and be a little more flexible with what they can do. Get it fixed guys, Excelsior needs this place to work!

Huge disappointment. Music and bartenders (tossed dishes/utensils) are too loud, horrible margaritas (perhaps they didn't rinse out the mixer, which is not a great thing in and of itself, but it tasted like it had coconut rum in it); guacamole had avocados, salt, and maybe a little garlic, but no lime, no cilantro, and no tomatoes; and theater clearly was disappointed that we went ordering more than appetizers and drinks. Pal, we're not here to pad the bill for you, and it wasn't busy, so don't ask us three times whether that's all we're going to have. A little more pleasant personality (really, any personality at all) will get you a tip. Was really hoping to like this place, but nothing would cause me to come back.

Mediocre. I really wanted to like this place. I love tacos and fresh food on general, so I thought I would love it. Maybe it was an off day or something, I'm not sure. The atmosphere for the most part was good. Several people told us they were getting a table ready and asked if they could help us which was nice. I ordered a mix of different tacos-- the pork one with pineapple (sorry, I don't remember the name), carnita, and the steak taco. The pineapple one only had 3 small pieces of pork on it and basically nothing else. The ingredients made the soft shell that it was in look huge. Didn't taste much other than tortilla. Definitely didn't taste pineapple which was disappointing. The steak one was ok, but again, not much in the tortillas (they give you two for each taco). The meat was good, but I would have liked more of it (and some other favors would be good too). The carnitas taco was the best one I had. Why? Because it actually had stuff on it!! It was pretty much filled up. Overall, a nice atmosphere. Overpriced for what I received. Pretty decent service overall, but I after we all say there finished for 10 minutes, I had to ask the manager who walked by for the check. She was very helpful and attentive. Even stopped by earlier to ask how our meal was. I would try it again and give it a second shot, but when I can spend the same amount of money and get a lot more food at Maynard's, I may not voluntarily go back without some coercion.

Great but simple variety in tacos and burritos. They did have vegetarian options as well. We did the variety sampler which had enough food for 6 people at least with lots of dips and chips. We ordered from the boat and went and grabbed it. it's a little messy to eat on the boat especially when no plates or silverware was provided (we didn't ask for it and just assumed, next time we will).

Great food, great beer selection (as is par for the course for restaurants in the area), friendly staff and good atmosphere. Any taco and burrito place will inevitably be compared to Chipotle at some point, and Lago comes out way on top. Great place to grab a bite, watch a game on the many TVs and have a drink with friends.

This is a fun spot to hang out at. Summer time its pretty packed and is in a smaller location. This isn't your run of the mill mexican restaurant. Expect to pay 7-10 for a margarita, 7 for chips and salsa, 1 for extra salsa. They do have a nice selection of beers. Food wise is all good street style tacos and burritos. They have the fresh tasting food down and the hot sauce is good. The real secret about this place is the breakfast on the weekends. It is fantastic and I have been there twice for it. I would go back here for breakfast any weekend I could.

Breakfast is better than dinner. Service was good. Seating area is very small. Not great for larger groups. Tacos are average at best.

We had great tacos and chips/salsa! Sit at the bar at sunset and you get a free shot. Biggest complaint I hear by most are drink prices and you have to pay for chips and salsa. Maybe after they have been around a bit and the newness wears off they will fix this, but no complaints from me about the food I was served!

Nothing like a great summer day out on the lake .... followed by an late evening dinner at Lago Tacos with some great food and drinks. My partner and I spent the day in the sun on the lake and built up a great appetite for some good food. We walked into the place and it was kicking! The atmosphere was energetic full of conversation and sports on the television. The staff greeted us at the door and were nothing but professional, quick, and very polite. Due to our hunger we decided to expedite our wait and eat at the bar. After sitting down, we were immediately asked what we wanted to drink and the bartenders were more than happy to provide us recommendations. We ordered the Chips and Salsa/Dip Plate which included 4 different salsas for the chips. Great flavors out of all the salsas, the plate was a great fusion of flavors. Our meals were great and were more of a modern approach to Mexican and not necessarily authenticate. With the Chicken burrito, why have a side of rice or beans on top of the burrito itself; this seems a little out of place or too much. Overall we were very satisfied with Lago Tacos and now have a great place to go back to again in the future. Some minor things overall with the restaurant this place is a great place. Great atmosphere and staff along with good food add together for a good night.

Very good Mexican in a great little town. I have been here a few times, and really enjoy the menu and the beers. The tacos are imaginative, including the Ahi Tuna, Walleye, and Shrimp versions. All are excellent. The chips and dip side (not free) is excellent as a starter and can be out in a minute or less if you are hungry. Probably the most overlooked thing here is the breakfast on weekends, which I think starts at 9am. It is excellent, I have yet to try anything that I didn't love. This restaurant is a great addition to the Excelsior food scene, which now is very respectable and provides enough options for someone to walk up and down main street and "menu shop" until they find fare they like. Good stuff. The only reason I didn't go with 5 stars is because it might be a tad overpriced, but that doesn't stop me from going back again and again.

I think they took the bland part of the Scandinavian and British dishes mixed in a bit of rice and called it Mexican food. I have been there twice thinking Both my wife and I picked something bland the first time. Nope the second time was just as bland. Chipotle blows this place out of the water and that isn't even great Mexican food. I am all for keeping a simple menus and quite enjoy that but one would hope that if you only do a few items tacos and burritos that you do them well. Come on man, someone must have really had to try to come create the blandest Mexican food on the planet.

The food, ambiance, and service was fantastic. The deep-fried avocados and the shrimp tacos were nothing short of superb. Clean, satisfying, delicious flavors! So, so yummy! And the dessert quesadilla with cinnamon ice-cream (that followed a seriously legit margarita) totally blew my mind. I CANNOT wait to go back... this place is wonderful! Lago Tacos, thank you for a truly great lunch experience yesterday!!

This place is outstanding. It has great service and a fun and inviting atmosphere. Food comes quickly and waiters and bartenders are so friendly. Decor and feel on the inside is exciting and comfortable. Now food.... Um delicious. Never had such fresh and filling tacos in my life! I will most definitely come here MANY more times! ***TIP: look up times of when the place opens because it gets very busy very quickly and it's not that large on the inside so try to come as soon as possible but you won't have to wait too long for a seat most likely

Very friendly servers. Food is consistently good. Always tastes fresh, but dont expect anything that will blow your mind. The kitchen doesnt seem to put out anything with much creativity - just basic mexican really. There isnt much of a range in ingredients or presentation. Guacamole is fairly bland. rice and beans are as basic as it gets. The chicken, shrimp, and carnitas are tasty though. The restaurant is small, and the bar isnt really separate from the dining area, so its sometimes loud. I think they should do away with daily 'shot' at sunset. I dont expect the bar to pour a bunch of straight liquor shots for everyone for free, but doing a shot of syrupy orange juice is pretty cheesy.

The interior is really boring. It's like they haven't quite figured out the style of the place yet. I like the tacos and the margaritas are really good (although probably overpriced) and it's nice to have a Mexican place in Excelsior but it's just such a really lame and boring atmosphere inside.

Well, after eating there yesterday, I was pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent. Growing up in Chicago and eating a lot of authentic Mexican food, the flavors were great. We ordered the steak and carnitas tacos that had excellent flavor. They were fresh tasting along with a nice portion size (which is three per order). We also ordered a Mahi Mahi salad with grilled mangoes that was delicious. For an appetizer, we got chips and dips (two salsas, guacamole, and beans). I would say that the initial size of the salsas were small, but they graciously brought out more of them and the chips per our request. The burritos were also very good and well proportioned. I would say that they are a bit on the higher side for pricing for them though compared to some other authentic restaurants. Our favorite of the night was the fried avocado with the jalepeno ranch. These were outstanding. All at our table loved them and could have honestly ate platters of these all night. They were night greasy at all, but had a light breaking on them that was perfect. You just have to be prepared for avocado to night be crunchy, just the texture they should be when they are ripe. Again, these were great. The only downside all of us felt at our dinner was the corn cakes. They were not to our liking. Decent flavor, but somewhat mushy. The prices were a bit high, but not anything out of the norm for a typical restaurant. All in all, a good overall experience for the group. We will definitely go back.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
