The happy hour specials here are pretty great. I must say that they definitely give Houlihan's and Buffalo Wild Wings a run for their money. The food is delicious and I've never had bad service at this establishment. The atmosphere is pretty relaxed and the fireplace and kitchens add an inviting aspect.

Quick service, smiling waitress who knows to say your name when she brings your food. Good bar and quick service from the bartender too (but it wasn't a very busy night). Paid $15 for fish and chips, which seems high but I'll admit it was very good and a large portion. REALLY good cole slaw, although that's kind of a weird thing to rave about I guess.

One of my favorite restaurants! Try their chocolate martini and their cajun Alfredo! Also they have the best patio!

The restaurant was way too hot and smelled like bad perfume with no ventilation. We were all very very uncomfortable. I tracked down the manager and told him that it was too hot. Despite the restaurant being completely full he told me the restaurant didn't have the money to fix the air conditioning unit. He also said something about not being able to fix the temperature but he could deliver good food and a smile. food was average waitress was prompt but not courteous

Dinner 5/26/14, ordered Buffalo Chicken Salad and a bloody mary. 1. Buffalo Chicken Salad came to the table PARTIALLY PREPARED. It is served with CELERY STICKS. This sucked, as I was forced to chop most my own salad, causing me to spill the side of dressing. If I want to prepare my own salad, I will stay home and prepare it and not pay nearly $13 for a partially prepared salad. 2. Don't order the bloody mary; it was watered down and tasteless. In fact, just go somewhere else for dinner.

Food was decent, but was missing that "wow" factor. The restaurant seemed to be understaffed

I've come here a few times for lunch with coworkers. This place is your standard suburban bar/grill. It is way overpriced. There is no lunch menu, so the prices are for dinner options, which would still be overpriced. $16 for an average salad is crazy.

Did Someone Get The Best Of JAKE'S? "I need somewhere to hang my head" after mine and my wife's latest trip Jake's City Grill which was one of our favorites, but I think someone got the best of Jake's and changed some things and it wasn't for the better. Not sure if they swapped out their executive chef for one that isn't the greatest, but they definitely changed one of the best things they had on their menu and that was their fries. You're not really upset about the fries are you? Yes, yes I am! Jake's used to serve these yummy skinny fries, but now they're serving these typical fires found everywhere. Dear Executive Chef... You set yourself apart from everyone else, why would you change that? You should consider making changes for the better! I'm sure you're still getting people coming in, but on the Saturday night that my wife and I stopped in during the prime time of evening dining, it wasn't that busy. It was even strange when our server walked by and said our drinks would be coming shortly, the bartender is a little preoccupied. How? No one is here! Well, lets talk about the dishes my wife and I had. As we were getting sat, my wife saw something that looked good and wanted to get. That was their handmade Pizza Rolls with a Caesar salad in the middle of the plate. By the looks of the picture I took, would you eat it? Of course you would! However, if you want an awesome handmade pizza roll, you should consider stopping by Lucky's 13 or Old Chicago. While Jake's version had some delicious sausage, it had very little sauce and almost no cheese. IT'S A PIZZA ROLL! I decided to take a stab at their Philly Style - Prime Rib Dip. Where do I start? Again, by the picture, anyone would want to devour this thing just by it's pure size, but its look is deceiving. I hope it wasn't their best attempt at making a prime rib dip and/or Philly, but if it was, I've had far better! Add some flavor to your meat, trust me, it goes a long ways and it's good thing there was au jus, because it was a little dry as well. Remember our fries dilemma? Well... I probably had three fries and left the rest! I do have a confession to make and I'm hoping the Executive Chef doesn't get his or her hands on it and ruin it and that's their Shrimp & Sausage Chowder. One of the best soups any restaurant has offered and really the reason why I wanted to stop by in the first place. DON'T screw it up Jake's! My wife and I are and have definitely "moved on to someone new..." and I think the Foo Fighters would agree with me as well. If it's not broken, don't fix it!

Very tasty food, attentive and friendly staff. Had the Philly cheese steak with sweet potato fries. Very good and a decent size portion.

It seems like a plague that most restaurants in the suburbs do not care what their food taste likes as long there is ample supply of beer for the suburbanites. Grotesque? yes but does the business model work for these restaurants? also sadly yes. I have been to this establishment a number of times both for lunch and happy hour. One great thing about them is that the servers are great. But the food can be described as lacking in any taste or originality and just a plain old BLAH would explain the culinary experience. 2 stars only for the nice service. Parking is easy to find and restrooms very clean each time i visited.

Went here on thanksgiving. What an error. The turkey was mostly dry. Drinks were a little on the watered side. The one bright spot was they serving the turkey. He was really good and really extra nice.

I have to admit that the Maplewood Jake's is better all aspects of food, service, and parking. I only venture here with the bf when we are visiting his friend who lives out here. Food: They have huge portions when it comes to their entrees. I'm talkin' my head x2 sized plates. So that's good, but the quality is very mediocre. I once had JakeWings returned twice to be cooked more... and I wasn't even offered something else. :/ I should of just asked for a bowl of soup. I was ravenously hungry when they came out with it the third time, so I just scarfed it down. They're a bit pricey for what they have to offer and the quality can be quite upsetting. I do love their ahi tuna appetizer though and their burgers can be quite heavenly when the craving for charred meat is growing in your stomach. Service: Service here can be good or bad, depending on whether they have a big group in or not. Everyone is usually really friendly though, so I can't complain too much. Oh, one thing I do have to gripe about are the drinks. Too expensive and not enough alcohol. I'm a smaller person, so when I come in with an empty stomach, I do expect to feel some kind of tipsy-ness. It only makes sense, right? Please add more alcohol to your drinks so I don't feel like I paid $10 for a martini glass of juice.

Wow; disappointing. I had really high hopes coming here for brunch. The main issues were the lack of quality and variety. The meats were average at best; the eggs dry; the "beef with au jus" was leftover sliced beef in a flavorless gravy (noting like the prime rib implied .) There are much better brunch options at this price point. I subbed a burger for the disappointing brunch which I would give a 6/10, but being priced at $12.95 was OUTRAGES for not even being hand pattied. Overall VERY overpriced and lacking quality. Would not return in the near future; manger did however seem interested in getting feedback to try and improve things.

Amazing Sunday brunch buffet. Variety and quality of food was wonderful. Service was very attentive. Sitting on the patio by the fountain is always a great experience.

Enjoyed a nice Sunday brunch with family when I visited the Twin Cities this weekend. This location opens for brunch at 10 am on Sunday and serves it's regular menu at 11. We had a good selection of food, especially liked the thick-sliced bacon and watermelon. Our server was personable and treated us well.

Apps took a very long time to come out, and not much more then 5 minutes did our food come. With no space on the table we attempted to eat. Server walked past twice with making eye contact and didn't stop. Apps were OK at best , meals were not worth it. A murky water was present in the dish with my fajitas veggies. Waitress said the chef informed her it was water from the pico. Nasty and Don't recommend the fajitas or calamari. Will pass on Jakes for a while.

Like other reviewers, I find the price points at Jake's inconsistent with the quality of food served. It tends to a be a bit of a meat market for the 30-40 something crowd on weekend evenings, and the noise is a real drawback. Thank God for the smoking ban, because it was intolerable before that. There's nothing remarkable about the menu, it's decent but overpriced by about 20 percent.

This is the third visit to Jakes and it continues to disappoint, but this was the final strike. Tried the chicken pita and it felt like I was biting off a piece of cement. The third bite was a chicken bone. I flagged the manager and he took it away, never returned to apologize or ask if I'd like something else. Never saw him again. We were sitting at the bar and the bartender knew what happened and didn't apologize either, in fact, his attitude was short. I heard the couple next to us saying their queso wasn't very good and instead of offering to replace it he just shrugged it off! Won't be going back!

Review is for restaurant only not bar. Ate here with a group of 4. We all enjoyed our food and was shown great attention by the waitress. Price was cheap to moderate. They have a shared parking lot with plenty spots close and lots of seating. I'll go back.

Normally, I like this place... So I'm writing this review to tell you what NOT to order off their menu. Over time I have ordered quite a few things that I would highly recommend, like the sandwiches, any of them, well, almost any of them. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich this past Friday. Ug. That's a sandwich? I have to say it was just gross and the sandwich had no balance. I should have gone down to Potbelly's and got a good sandwich. My wife ordered the Fajitas. Tasteless. Perhaps the chef forgot what the word "seasoning" means because that dish was BLAND. Avoid those 2. The garlic burger is pretty good, anything on their ciabatta bread is good, tacos were good, etc., etc...

My friend and I were starving after yoga and zumba classes in Eagan so we happened to go to Jake's on the recommendation of another friend. First of all, let me tell you that I was looking so "hot" after those classes, but the hostess didn't bat an eye when she sat us. We were sat in a both in the back by the door to the patio. Thankfully, last weekend it was in the 50s so the staff going in and out of the door wasn't that painful. The manager was apologetic and careful about opening the door while going, the staff can learn something from him about being considerate of diners when going out the door. My friend got the Ahai Tuna salad which she said was good and she had plenty to take home. I had the Mediterranean Chicken Flatbread which was huge and filled with delicious roasted vegetables along with the chicken, plus it came with a side Greek salad. I took half of my food home as it was just so much. The service was good, our waitress made sure our drinks were always filled. She was provided enough attention without feeling like she was hovering. I would definitely comeback here as the food was delicious and you get a lot for your money.

I'm out an about travelling on business in the beautiful state of Minnesota. Can you say that like they do in 'Fargo'? Hit Jakes the first night into town for a chicken salad after a long day of travel from the sunny California. Food was fresh and coconut chicken was very tasty. I ordered a side of grilled vegetables. Summer squash and such. Grilled perfectly:) although there was so much oil on it that it was ruined:( Would go back to try their burgers, otherwise, might stop in for a beer, the bar was really huge and decor is fun.

Jake's us a good place for lunch. Their menu provides a lot of variety, they have very good burgers, and brick oven pizzas. The service is usually really good and it is a very nice casual atmosphere.

I like the decor and ambiance of this place. Service was good, staff was friendly. Good selection of menu items. Ahi Tuna Spinach Salad was good, especially liked the wasabi vinagrette. A good choice if you're in the Eagan area.

I am not one to write reviews, but our dinner last evening there was one of the worst meals I have had in a long time. Bad service, too. We stopped by Saturday night, and left after being told that it was going to be a 45 minute wait. Understandable. And it got my hopes up that it had to serve good food! We came back Sunday night, and got seated quickly -- the place was DEAD. I thought that would be good news..... First our server didn't introduce himself, spoke nothing of any specials, and seemed like he was late for a race somewhere. Our water glasses were empty way too much, for way too long. He never asked how our food was (lucky for him), never said "thanks for coming", and dropped our bill off like it was radioactive waste. We are a pleasant family of four, out for Sunday night dinner, and we would have had better, more personable service at McDonalds! Now for the food: My wife's BBQ chicken pizza was only 2/3rds covered in toppings, and we couldn't find any BBW sauce. That is not a good place to cut back to pad the bottom line. The chicken was tasty enough, but very little of it. My son's Fish and Chips -- and he is not a picky eater -- said that he should have sent it back. It just didn't taste right. My daughter's Fettechini Alfredo was very bland. And my cheeseburger was over cooked, tasteless, with small bits of salad tomato (what ever happened to beefsteak tomatoes?). And worse yet, our fries were cold and limp. We definitely wanted to send those back, but we never saw a server to complain. We will never come back to this restaurant, even though we live in the neighborhood. Really disappointing, and I'd opt for Houlihans or BWW's next door, or even Smash Burger, Panda Express, or Chipolte!

Not the best meal/service/atmosphere I have been to but they are ok in a pinch. The first time I was here I had the Bacon Burger - which was dry. The second time here I had the turkey melt which was fair. They have yummy soups. Their fries are those really thin ones which get cold really quick. Not great at refilling your coffee/tea. They also assumed my husband wanted hot tea the first time we came here instead of asking what he wanted. Our second visit here they seated us next to the only filled table in the room - which had 8 people sitting at it and they were LOUD. Having tried this place twice now I think I would keep driving rather than stop back in anytime soon. There are enough options in the area to make this drop down on my list of places to eat at.

Surprisingly good. Never been to a Jake's before. The JakeWings are better than expected. Portions were very generous. We had the Prime Rib and Herb Roasted Chicken. Both were very good! Our server was very attentive and friendly. Was a thoroughly enjoyable dinner. There were only two things that took away from the evening. 1) The A/C didn't seem like it was on so the area where we were sitting kinda got stuffy. 2) The price, leans towards the more expensive side. (We did each get an appetizer, entree, and dessert) Wouldn't be able to come frequently, but would definitely come back again if the opportunity presented itself.

I hate it when there's an 'E' at the end of Grill. I did not have high hopes for this place for two reasons. I was attending a family gathering for Mother's Day (none of them my mother), and the stupid name. I can only speak for myself, but the Greek Chicken Flatbread I ordered was very good. I had chicken, cucumbers, olives, lettuce, and other Greek flavors all in a flatbread. It came with a Greek salad on the side. That was also very good. My only complaint was the plate was very hot, and the salad was on the same plate. Our server was pretty good considering there were 15 of us. All the food come out at relatively the same time, and no mistakes. We were not offered water, but that might be a restaurant policy rather then a server issue. I am not a fan of chain restaurants, but I would come back to Jakes.

This was my first trip to Jake's, and it was pleasurable. They have an expansive and diverse menu with everything from pizza, to pasta, to sandwiches, to BBQ, to soups and salads. This location was very fast in service and delivery of the food. It resembles all the typical fast casual restaurants you're used to seeing (Red Robin, Ruby Tuesday, etc..) but it was pleasant. Additionally the place looked very clean and that's always a plus. What more could you ask for?

Jake's is another one of those places near work that we seem to end up at quite frequently for no better reason than it's close. Our most recent trip there was a for a large group happy hour there the other night. Beer selection was pretty much what I'd expected, a boat load of macro-brews on tap, Summit EPA and Summit IPA. I'd gladly tack another star on this review if they'd up their game with regards to the beer selection. I'd like to see more local brews on tap or really any other craft selections. The food is generally OK, not good, not bad, just OK. For our happy hour, we had a selection of appetizers including buffalo wings, Jake wings, nachos and Asian dumplings. The only thing that really stood out as good to me were the Jake wings. I really liked the sauce on them, sort of sweet and spicy, but not overpoweringly so. Food for lunch or dinner is pretty much what you'd expect from a place like this, burgers, sandwiches, pasta, etc. Again, nothing spectacular, the food is just OK and portions are quite large.

Very surprising for a "chain" restaurant, as the food and atmosphere is definitely above average. I highly recommend the Hawaiian style pizza, though I'm sure all of the combinations are great.......also try the Prime Bites are quite tasty!!!

Overpriced but large portions! Used a $40 groupon and we got articoke dip which was delicious. I got turkey melt with fries which I would highly recommend and it a cheaper menu item. My bf got a steak sandwich and that was also very good. Finally we topped off the meal with a dessert from the dessert tray. We went with the cold chocolate cake and ice cream. Soooo good! It was a good meal but we only went there to use Groupon otherwise it's pretty overpriced.

Typical sports bar and fare. I'm always worried that when one place tries to do so many different things that it will do none of them well. Jake's has its own special pizza, a full burger menu, a TexMex section, and its own smoker for Q. Any one of those is a restaurant by itself. It took us forever to pick from such a large selection. Our table had pizza, brisket, and carnitas tacos. All were passable to good, none were outstanding. The brisket was tender but a bit fatty (but those mashed potatoes might as well have been left off for all I ended up wanting to eat). The tacos were tasty but so wet they disintegrated. The pizza was cheesy, but my daughter concluded it was too much cheese in the end. Service was pretty decent and friendly, and food was on our table in good time. And the Twins were up on every screen, which gets a +1 from our family. The place is VERY noisy (even our server mentioned that to us!). No WiFi.

I went here with coworkers as a treat from my boss. I ordered Jake's burger. pretty tasty, although there was leftover still the food good and I don't think too much sodium. We went for lunch and very busy but service was prompt. Cannot say about the prices because it was a treat :)

Stick to the buffet because the omelet ingredients do not include salt and pepper. There is a good variety on the buffet but not much selection of gluten free options, even the hash browns have gluten in them for some strange reason. I am a little bit disappointed in the experience overall.

Ya know what doesn't suck? The Key Lime Martini at Jake's. I am not kidding. I am a Key Lime Martini fanatic and it just doesn't get better than this. I seriously have a love affair with these Martinis. So if you love Key Lime, stop by Jake's to get a martini! So, now that that's out of the way, let's talk about the good stuff: foooood. Jake's is an American Restaurant chain throughout the Twin Cities. Since moving to the Southern Burbs, I have to say it has definitely become one of our favorite places for Happy Hour/Dinner/Brunch. They really do have it all. Now what I typically go there for is HH. This particular time, I went with my co-workers to enjoy in the Happy Hour specials from 3-6pm. Jake's has a great wine/cocktail/beer Happy Hour--along with some great deals on their very delicious appetizers. I've tried almost everything on the menu (I know, I love this place) but I apps I would recommend are Spicy Green Beans, Dumplings, Jake's Wings, and the Spinach Artichoke dip (this one is especially good). They just know how to hit the spot on the apps--and it's not easy to find a restaurant in which all my co-workers have a favorite! Besides that, service is typically right on point--bartenders are friendly and the facilities are usually always clean. Tip: Stop by for Brunch if you aren't able to do the HH specials. Great place to take the family after church too!

Arrived at peak time on a Saturday night but seating was immediate. Menu was generally un-original. The place could use a good cleaning - trash in the floor as we were seated. Table was too small for our group (even though there were many other seating options). The food was okay, but nothing to write home about. Apparently tonight was a fish fry because the fried pita chips on the appetizer tasted decidedly like deep fried cod. Salad was meh---nothing great-- very run of the mill. The ribs were overdone (which is difficult to do!). If you like large portions - this place has them. Server didn't quite get the order right or the bill but did try to make the adjustment quickly.

My wife and I were there for dinner in mid-July. Service was average. The server didn't correctly ring in my order of the philly style French dip...so when he took the dish to be "remade", they just put cheese on top and nuked it for 10 seconds and brought it back out. I was hoping it would have been melted fully, using a salamander-type melter. We ordered the Jake Wings as app. They were outstanding. Best wings in Eagan. My wife ordered a Mediterranean Flatbread wrap. It was good, but a tad dry. The chef should add some more dressing to the pita, or offer a side of something the dip it in. Overall a good experience. Order the jake wings, not the Philly French Dip.

I have always been a fan of their prime rib! For the size, price, and taste. It was great. I have had it plenty of time and the tenderness and flavor of it is always on point! Of course this kind of meat, you must only get it rare to medium. It will kill the quality of this cut to get it cooked any further. Definitely recommend everyone who comes here to at least try it once. This time tho there was a bit more fat on it than usual. Overall it was delicious. Also have tried the beer-battered mushroom. That was pretty decent. Nothing too fancy about it. Sauce was great tho. Jake wings were very good. It had a nice tangy zesty flavor. They were grilled wings but how they cooked it had a nice crisp on the skin. Super juicy. Service wasn't bad. Attentive.

After a night of helping the girlfriend at school, we decided to not go to Granite City and instead head to Jake's for dinner, hoping for something decent and fast considering it's been a long night. Stroll in, greeted and sat with no issues. Cool. We get time to order, asked if we have any questions on the menu - none. Order goes in, I opt for the lemon garlic chicken kabobs a side caesar salad and Ashley goes with the chicken club. Everything is going well, and then the salad arrives. Everything tastes ok as we both dig into the salad. Then, all the cut lettuce is gone, and we have a plate length, fully intact, romaine heart. I kick myself for not taking a picture to prove this point. But, I stared at it skeptically wondering, "is this standard, are the cooks and staff around a corner wondering how I tackle this waiting to laugh at my decision, where in the world is Carmen San Diego?" Ashley starts laughing at me as I decide to knife and fork it instead of cow it and try to stuff it in with stalks hanging out. Either way, rather freaking strange. Food comes out a few minutes later... and things look ok. The chicken was pretty tasteless and didn't have a hint of lemon or garlic to it. Not sure why they lie to you in the menu description that there's going to be lemon and garlic taste, but, hey, it fooled the hell out of me. The tzatziki sauce that came with it, or I'm assuming it was tzatziki, was close to flavorless. But, considering they lied to me about chicken, who knows what the white sauce actually was? My veggies on the side were ok. Some were fried up nicely, some were fried up too much and rock hard. It was like a guessing game on which one was going to be cooked correctly, and which one - CRUNCH - wouldn't be. Rice was rice... Tried the pita bread on it's own, meh. Tried it with some things stuff inside it, meh. The chicken club was pretty solid though, I'll give it that. Probably because they don't lie to you about a fake flavor profile you might expect. But, it was ok and served on ciabatta. Now why this could be a 1 star review (only isn't because the sandwich was A-OK and my food, while lacking it's menu noted flavor, was still ok), is that we went the entire meal without seeing our server. He made 3 laps around his tables, including stopping to talk with and older couple, but not once decided us two needed a check in... despite my empty water glass sitting at the edge of the table, and Ashley trying to flag him down for a condiment. Luckily a runner was able to help bring the condiment for us. Considering I've got some more time in Eagan to be had, I won't consider stopping here again.

My whole experience with Jake's could be summed up with a "meh" Nothing about the restaurant is unique or original. The decor is nice but very plain - nothing different than any other basic restaurant. The prices are a bit more than I expected - the entrees are on average start around $12 and up, which I didn't feel like the food was worth. I ordered a Jake's Burger because I heard the JakeSauce is really good. Along with the sauce, the burger is topped with cheddar cheese and crispy onion strings. The burger was very plain and I couldn't even taste any of the special "JakeSauce". It lacked flavor and was not anything special for me. It came with fries that were heavily spiced, which was fine at first but got to be too much as I kept eating them. Our service was great and they did a good job of keeping up with our group of 10 but otherwise the experience was just average. Nothing made me wanting to come back for more.

I was pretty excited to stop in Jake's for lunch with my co-workers. Everyone raves about the Jake's sauce, the wings, and the pizza rolls. We've had the pizza rolls and wings catered in the office before but catered food is never as good as the real deal. When I went into the restaurant for lunch I was really craving the burger. A friend of mine said she loved The Jake burger. This burger comes with fried onions and Jake's sauce. I also ordered a side of sweet potato fries as a side and kept my regular fries (Fry overload). The first thing I said to my coworker was "where is the Jake's sauce, I don't see it". Turns out that the patty had an ever so slight glaze of Jake's sauce. I took a bite and it was unimpressed. It was all bland. I couldn't take the Jake's sauce or even the onions on the burger. It all tasted the same, and yes all of my taste buds were working properly. The sweet potato fries were average. I'm a sauce person and I personally think that a special sauce is necessary to come with sweet potato fries, ketchup does not compliment well. The fries that came with the burger were good. They were seasoned and crisp. Overall, our server did a great job of serving our large group over the lunch rush. I always had water in my glass, all of our checks were right, and our food was served at the same time. I was just unimpressed with the my food and how bland it was for how much everything cost.

Stopped here with a group of work friends at a very random time, about 2:30pm. Our server seemed aloof & mildly annoyed by our presence. He served our drinks & we decided to share the Chicken Nachos & wait until 3pm (the start of Happy Hour) to order the remaining appetizers. Food Review: The Chicken Nachos were the typical 'Oh crap, not enough cheese or toppings and a ton of chips left-over' scene. For Happy Hour, we ordered the Pulled Pork Minis, Bruschetta, Jake Wings & the Panko Crusted Chicken Strips. Now, all of these were REALLY good. It was a bummer that an order of the Pulled Pork Minis only came with 2 sliders (tough to share with a group of 6), so we had to add on another order & cut them in half. I liked the Bruschetta because it wasn't a hard crostini you bite and snap off. The bread was thick & soft (almost soggy), but I'd rather have that than a hard cracker with toppings. The Jake Wings came with their signature 'Jake's Sauce', a sweeter BBQ style dipping sauce that's really tasty. The Panko Crusted Chicken Strips were really crunchy & delicious, also plentiful enough to share with a group our size. Our group was ready to order more drinks & after placing that order, it took our server about 15 minutes to return with the drinks. Most of us we ready to get the tab by this point, but had to stay longer than planned to finish those drinks. Our server maintained a 'too cool for school' attitude with our table when he brought the check. With happy hour prices, I think the food met expectations. I wish our server was a bit more friendly/down to earth & attentive. Positives: Reasonable Happy Hour Prices on apps & drinks, tasty food Negatives: Big bar atmosphere, Weird service Overall, I wouldn't hate going back, but I wouldn't be too excited either.

The second most average place on Earth. (Dita has already proclaimed Red Robin to be the first). Jake's was our settling point when Sam W. and I couldn't decide where we wanted to waste our money. We didn't want anything too exciting and we definitely weren't looking for value. Jake's fit the bill perfectly. The menu is a combination of every other chain restaurants' on the planet, minus anything you actually want to eat. The prices are close to twice what the food is worth. The decor here is the least thought provoking shade of maroon and tan that I have ever come across. The service is there.... somewhere. Sam looked at me and said "Oh my God, this sounds fucking disgusting! Apple, bleu cheese, and grape flatbread with melted Parmesan cheese and a honey drizzle! Barf!" So I ordered it because I didn't think it sounded all that bad. It was the most average flatbread whateverthefuck that I have ever had. Sam stared at the menu and upon finding absolutely nothing that he wanted, he ended up ordering the hamburger sliders that were on happy hour special for $6. After an average wait, Sam's sliders came out on a plate that would easily hold three sliders but only came with two. The onion straws on top were stale enough to use as shoelaces. The burgers had a watery grease pouring out of them. But, the buns were fresh, Fuck yeah! After a perfectly disappointing and mediocre dinner, two pieces into my flatbread and a look on desperation on Sam's face (Couldn't tell if he had to shit or if he was still hungry) I flagged down our waiter and asked for the bill. He returned with a full pepsi for me, which was nice except I didn't order it and I was drinking iced tea. Jake's is so lame, I need a nap from just trying to remember it.

We have had some hits and misses here. Overall a solid spot to stop to grab a bit with some options. We havent had anything that truly stands out but nothing truly bad either. They make great sandwiches, have some good fish tacos and the staff is great.

I like Jake's. Always have. I would classify Jake's as an upscale American bar with a diversified menu that's way above your average bar food taste. The service is usually always decent too. It's no five-star service but it's your everyday decent service. I went to lunch today with ten people and the food came out all together and as ordered. I was impressed! For a Friday lunch rush, the service was great! I even had a refill of my iced tea in front of me before I requested a refill. However, I was disappointed in my salad. I ordered the Greek Chicken Salad ($12.95) and found it to be completely bland and lacking flavor. The chicken wasn't flavorful and was flat - almost dry. The dressing tastes more like herbed olive oil and I like my salad dressing to be the 'wow' that makes the salad. I ate almost all of the pita bread as that was the best part of the meal but even that tasted stale. I will go back. I know Jake's has food better than the salad I had. I will just make sure to order other food next time.

Jake's is alright to be honest. The service can be slow, which is a pain point when the goal is to come in, eat, and get it within a reasonable time. Food is meh for the most part, as it is fairly expensive for the quantity that you are getting. The vibe is nice though, which is perfect for business networking events. Overall, I like Jake's, but would not want to spend my own money there.

I really enjoy the Eagan location. The mangers were active and helping the over flow of the restaurant. Staff was helpful and the chef's specials are always on point. Great happy hour apps and huge patio w/bar. Try the city Bloody Mary with a jakes brew chaser!

This is one of those places that is really hit or miss you ether get great service and amazing food, or the polar opposite, the times I have been here were during the dinner rush so I do cut them some slack, but at the same time I have had times where it was 15 mins before I got my first drink and an hour before food, I would not recommend this place for large groups. Patio is very nice!!

Twice I have gotten the Greek flat bread and once I had the Margarita pizza. Both were delicious! The Greek flat bread is HUGE it is definitely a double lunch portion and I over gorge myself on it every time. Uh, hurt so good!

Servixe was friendly and attentive for lunch. I ordered the lobster tacos (it came with 2 tacos). It was tasty and served with rice and black beans. It was pretty good for lunch, right portion. Not much lobster but you can taste it. I wouldn't mind visiting again if I returm to Minneapolis.

Happy hour was okay, the beer battered mushrooms are definitely a favorite for my family but DONT order the sliders what ever you do. Waste of money! Very dry and only come with two. Very small portion and disappointing

We were there last Saturday night, the night before Mothers Day. We were a party of 4. It wasn't particularly busy, and service was prompt. We ordered our drinks, but I didn't receive what I ordered. Pinot Grigio doesn't even look anything like Cabernet. Got that straightened out about 10 minutes later, so I had to use my water for our toast. The waitress took our order, and we waited at least 20 minutes until we saw her again with our salads AND our entrees. What was she thinking? On top of that, our entrees were all cold except one piece of salmon. We flagged down the waitress and told her we were unhappy with our salads arriving the same time as our COLD food. She said she couldn't do anything, but she'd find someone to come and talk to us. About 10 minutes later, a manager type showed up to find out what our problem was. After telling him, he said he'd have fresh food brought out, comp two of our meals and we could share a free dessert. It took another 20 minutes, and that food wasn't much warmer. We gave up, flagged down the waitress again, and asked for take-home containers and our free dessert. Ordered creme broulet, and even that was lumpy. Our waitress apologized, but needless to say, we won't be going back. She never refilled our water glasses or asked if we wanted more drinks. It was in our opinion a total disaster.

I am not in love with this place like some people... Not my first choice. Drinks are overpriced, food is mediocre, and service has never been top notch. Only thing I actually like about this place is the ambiance, decor and outdoor seating. My most recent experience, I had to wait forever to get the bill... Our waitress kept walking by us completely blind to the fact we were trying to get her attention for a solid 20 minutes! At one point I was ready to flag down a different waitress. I only go here when someone else suggests it... Definitely not my first choice!

Fair place to get a good meal. Eat here or their Eden Prairie location regularly. Large portion sizes - enough to split in 1/2 with someone else and share and appitizer and be stuffed. A must have is the shrimp & sausage chowder.....you're a fool if you don't add a cup of it to your entree order for an extra $3.00 or whatever it is.

Good food choices. Nice atmosphere, but not a quiet place. Great patio! I feel bad for their staff this week, it was miserably hot inside. Uncomfortable to sit and eat, so horrible to have to work in it. If you go, tip the staff well, they are working hard for their money!

Good but not great! I've been to Jake's a handful of times and each time it's been decent. They have a very large menu, but nothing really stands out to me. I always get the same thing, but on the most recent trip, I changed it up. There was a very large group of us eating for a recent event, 15 to be exact. We were seated promptly at the reservation time and shuffled off to a table where the brunch buffet usually sits. Drink orders were taken promptly and because of the group size and dynamics I said, "This situation calls for a Millers Lite." Which is what I received, no water to go along, fine. I know the other people in my group LOVE this place, they don't get out much. I can't speak for anyone else, but I had the chicken enchiladas with a double portion of beans, no rice. The generous portion came out hot and fairly quickly. The service was good for our size group, but like I say, nothing about the food stands out. The HH specials are reasonably priced and they have a great patio. If you're in Eagan looking for something besides any other chain try it, otherwise I would not drive there just to eat at Jake's.

I absolutely LOVE three things on the menu at Jake's. They have delicious pizza rolls, not like the kind in the grocers freezer, but awesome little pinwheels served with caesar salad. I love their bruschetta appetizer. It has so many awesome flavors and is over the top when you get a little goat cheese in the bite. And lastly, the best thing I've eaten there, were the lobster tacos. I can't rave enough about these tacos. they were sweet and creamy and still crunchy. It was fantastic.

Ok, so the first thing to remember here is the name. It has "City Grille" in it, so for the best food experience... order something that is normally grilled. While they have other things on their menu, nothing shines like their burgers and steaks. ESPECIALLY the Angus. Their fries, when fresh, are fantastic. When ordering, medium means medium, etc. (which can be a trick to find). Good food, an expansive and pleasant environment, and plenty of TV's for those with ADHD.

I stopped in because I couldn't find the restaurant I was looking for. Jakes food was so good, I've already planned to come back. Service was outstanding. The meal was spectacular, even for American cuisine. Ambience was good, but try to be seated near the bar area if children annoy you.

Good buffet, good service, allright food, good seating mapping. minimal junk on the walls, alot of TVs. allthough it is too expensive for the quality. When a buffet has shrimp and a carving table, thats cool but for 16 or 17 bucks a plate, thats not worth it.

Jake's smells so awesome! During the holidays, it's so warm and cozy in the bar area by the wood-fire pizza oven. When patio season is in full-force, it is the best place to go for business lunch. Happy hour at the outdoor bar is relaxing too, with the pond right there. They have very good salads and burgers. The pizza rolls they make in the wood-fire oven are pleasing. Not a fan of their Super Sampler Platter (feeds 3-4), consisting of spare ribs (good flavor/no meat), firecracker shrimp (overcooked and fairly small), onion rings (terrible - couldn't cut the fat, leathery, ol' onion with a knife), wings (so-so), spinach and artichoke dip (with 5 soggy pieces of dipping chips) and planko chicken strips (best thing on the platter). Would love to try the pizza next time. Service is hit or miss. Oh, and of course, the sangria. Smaller glass, not much flavor. A little more citrus-y than I care for in a sangria.

No WiFi.

Attentive.

Stick to the buffet because the omelet ingredients do not include salt and pepper. There is a good variety on the buffet but not much selection of gluten free options, even the hash browns have gluten in them for some strange reason. I am a little bit disappointed in the experience overall.

I've come here a few times for lunch with coworkers. This place is your standard suburban bar/grill. It is way overpriced. There is no lunch menu, so the prices are for dinner options, which would still be overpriced. $16 for an average salad is crazy.
