Love the new location in canal park. It's the largest and nicest Grizzly's in the twin ports. Great atmosphere and a large bar area.

Stopped here on the recommendation from one of the locals we spoke with. Cannot recommend very highly. Sports bar fare with a bigger menu. My wife had an average rack of ribs and I had a mediocre brisket sandwich with some cheesy potato mush. Maybe it was a bad night but I was not impressed with the food.

The most amazing smoked chicken I've ever tasted! Our waitress was awesome too. Hubby got a very spicy dish and she was tight on top of the situation when he needed a drink to put out the fire in his mouth. Lol! I would definitely recommend this place.

First timers. It always smells so great. We were all very disappointed. Waiter was not good. Never checked back with us to see how our meal was. My burger was like a piece of charred coal. Fries super salty. My husband had the chicken and ribs. He like the ribs. The 1/4 chicken was dark meat and look like it can from a pigeon. So small. There was no bread and we did have to wait.Oh I got charged $0.25 for a side of ranch!! When all three meals were bad, the service was bad and just an all around bad experience. Don't be fooled by the immediate seating light on the billboard outside. There must have been 15 people waiting. So disappointed.

First time here. Waited 30 minutes for my beer. Server running like crazy so I understood. Wings were good, not great. Will give another chance. Managers might want to staff better for Wild playoff game...

Food was incredibly bland. The lettuce in the salads was not fresh. I had to dip all my food into some watery ranch dressing just to make it semi-edible. I have never written a review on here before, but really, think twice before you give them any money

The nightly happy hour was the last good thing here now bad service ok food and bad happy hour. Only reason I gave two stars is they still serve until 2am. Other then that just another going down hill canal park restaurant. Only took two years for them to let a great place to become below average. I used to go three times a week. Now they will be lucky to see me once a month. Doubt they care but I'm sure more locals will follow my lead.

I have came in here to check this place out and I had a great meal. I had the pulled pork sandwich and it rocked!!! The bartender was pretty awesome too. Friendly and was very helpful, not only to me but to everyone that walked up and sat at the bar. I would highly recommend this place.

Went here for a quick lunch & it was great. Split a rotisserie chicken salad & chili soup w/ the hubby. Fresh salad, great tasting chicken & super quick service. Most definitely recommend

I got the 14oz ribeye. The Steak had good flavor, but it was tough. Meat had zero marbling. Again, it was a ribeye. Suppose to have some fat. The baked potato was a but small and so was the salad. For $23.99 I expected better. Bartender asked me how it was and I hold him. He didn't do anything about it, but he asked The service was good though. It was pretty empty, however. Might be different on a busy night. I would go here again if everything else was packed out.

from the outside, you can tell and smell that the wonderful smokey flavor is coming from grizzly's which that is what drew us in. because of the smell, you'd think they'd have really good food but that's not the case. when we got in, the bar area seemed pretty busy but going over to the tables, it was dead for such a big place. it was very old and western looking but i'm guessing that's how the decor was meant to look like? it was a blah look. they seated us at the very end of the building away from everyone. my wife had ordered a drink which she said was pretty good. good enough that she ordered a second one. the grizzly skins were huge. more potato than anything. we both had a burger. my wife was wondering why the waitress didn't ask how we'd like our burgers so we had to ask the waitress ourselves. looks like they just cook them one way per the waitress but we told them to have it come out medium if possible. we both ate half of our burgers. my wife thought it was pretty tasty while mine was just alright. after getting back to the hotel, we rested and rested we did. my wife ended up with a really bad stomach ache and then "had to go" to the restroom several times and even in the middle of the night. i started to feel the same way after. the following day we decided to throw away our leftovers. it kind of ruined our trip there to duluth because it's kind of hard to walk down canal park and the lakewalk with stomach pains and feeling like you have to use the restroom any moment. the pain lasted a few more days even after we came home. we vowed never to come back here. we later on found out that a grizzly's opened up near my wife's work in the city. although her co-workers said it was one of the best burger they've ever eaten, just us hearing the name of it made us both want to puke.

This place was terrible. My steak was chewy and had absolutely no flavor. The chicken was barley warm. They list they're fries as "north shore fries" they are just plain fries that they dump a heap of salt on. My wife had a chicken sandwich that had good flavor but was barley warm as well. It was as if they microwaved the chicken on it. They brought out bread with my meal that was hard as a rock with a terrible olive oil. I only gave this place two stars because they have Fitger's on tap. Next time I'll just go to Fitger's.

The food here was great and the service even better. Being from Texas there aren't many wood fire grills so this was an awesome experience. The wild rice soup was amazing and the steak couldn't have been cooked any better. I will defiantly be back next time I am in town.

Terribly slow wait staff with no personality, never mind the barely cooked chicken an a baked sweet potato that was mush. One family left because something was wrong with their salad but were polite enough to lot say it out loud. With the multitude of other options, I'd avoid this place

I'd rather go to the national BBQ chain around the corner than eat here. I wouldn't come back. Cons: 1) Water coffee 2) Mediocre service - Took forever to return with basic things like BBQ sauce, which you think they'd have at all the tables, right? 3) Improper staff behavior among one another - Rude bantering with the explanation from our server that "it's ok, we work together." We were sitting at the bar for our late afternoon lunch. 4) Tired bought out chain store? - Their menu and food taste made me think they bought out a non-BBQ place that was a chain location. 5) Gross salad dressing - it was so cloyingly sweet you wouldn't know it was dressing if it didn't come with the salad. 6) Bland brisket sandwich. Had to ask for BBQ sauce, there was none served or brought with the meal. Pros: 1) No food poising? 2) Nothing was spilled on us? 3) It was close to our hotel 4) t's not overpriced if you must eat here for logistics reasons

The pictures on the menu in no way reflect the food that actually comes to the table. I felt robbed. They are really good at marketing and false advertising...not very good at food. Disgusting steak, no flavor, cooked well done when we asked for medium rare. I felt like I was at Applebee's. Mango habanero wings were decent, but WAY too spicy. I understand habanero is very spicy, but a little mango flavor to balance the spice would have been nice. Never going back, spent 70 bucks...including the 4 glasses of reasonably priced wine, which was the best part of the meal. Caesar salad was ok, should have stopped ordering food after the salad. Never going back.

Not sure why there are so many bad reviews but we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here. We sat at a high top in the bar area. The atmosphere was great. Service was prompt and courteous. I enjoyed my chicken sandwich but it was the chicken soup side that really made the meal great. Possibly one of the best bowls of chicken soup I've ever had. He had the Carolina pulled pork sandwich and it was tender and delicious. Cole on top was a nice touch. Waitress made sure our drinks were continuous, always appreciated! Lovely area in Duluth near the bridge. We will return if we get back to Duluth in the future.

Terrible service, dry food. Bummer because we had high hopes. We were in Duluth for a conference, while there the best place to eat was Timberlodge.

Was recommended to come here from someone at another restaurant because their wait was really long. I'm glad that I did. The wait wasn't too long and my waitress was really good and attentive. I ordered the medallions and the waitress was up front and said the 6 oz was only two pieces and the 9 oz was 3. I'm glad she told me that because I switched to the 9 and it was just the right amount. They were very tasty and went well with my wine. I'd stop back here again.

We've been here a couple of times for happy hour. Very nice atmosphere. The servers have always been great. The food is good, nothing we've had is outstanding but we're having appetizers most of the time. Very good beer selections. Local and regional selections.

Positives: convenient location near hotels. Nice bar area. Negatives: Dining area has the type of atmosphere and decor you'd find at a Perkins. Same chain-feel bar and grill you find everywhere in Canal Park. Food was very bland and uninventive. Overpriced.

Very tasty! Bourbon salmon was delicious so was the chicken wild rice soup. Ribs were tasty. Long island was gigantic! We sat in the bar and since it was draft night it got a little loud. However cheese curds were only okay. They didn't squeak (the sign of a good cheese curd).

Sirloin steak tips were flavorless and chewy. Cheesy hash browns were a gooey mess Salad was boring and not fresh, dressing has clearly been sitting for a long time Garlic bread was soggy and tasteless Atmosphere was drab and dull Worst option at Canal Park

very pleasant place, would not say the food was off the hook, in fact would never order the ribs again, BUT, did enjoy the people which has a lot to do with the dining experience. Wife and I returned for lunch on day 3 in Duluth, great bartenders, they know their barley and hops. Be well

We have eaten at the Grizzly's at the Miller Hill Mall location, and we absolutely loved it. When we saw that it was in Canal Park we were excited thinking it was the same quality. We think not!!!!!! the food looked and tasted horrible and our server thought it was appropriate to talk about us to another server while we were still there. I would think twice about visiting this location of Grizzly's. Go to the Miller Hiller Mall location.

I went to Grizzly's Wood Fired Grill on Saturday night around 9:00 pm. Well decorated restaurant with a quiet atmosphere at late night time. I ordered Kodiak Burger (For those man enough to tackle it: two fresh Angus ground beef patties, thick slab bacon, aged cheddar cheese, fried onions, lettuce, & tomato. Not for the meek!). It comes with one side, but that wasn't enough for me so I ordered two sides: sweet potato fries and cheesy hash browns. The burger was perfectly cooked. Two juicy patties were flavorful and seasoned perfectly. Bacon was crispy, but I felt like there wasn't enough cheese on my burger, so I decided to make my own more manly version of Kodiak Burger, which I would call a Polar bear burger (because Polar bear is bigger than Kodiak bear). I took my side orders of cheesy hash browns and sweet potato fries and piled them on top of the Kodiak burger. Now I had enough cheese on my burger! The combination of Kodiak burger and two sides was mouthwatering delicious! Cheesy hash browns are flavorful and have more than enough cheese in them. They were perfectly seasoned and I enjoyed every bite of it. Sweet potato fries are crispy and flavorful. Overall the food is delicious and I would definitely come back. Maybe next time they will have a bigger burger on their menu.
