Ok, here it is. One of the places to go in Delano. Or it is the plAce to go in Delano. So it's a townie bar with regulars, family's, alcoholics, bikers, the occasional out of towner and it's a dive bar. Let me list things out. I have had good food and I've had bad food. I ordered a medium rare hamburger once and got sick from it. But I came back. I just don't order medium rare hamburgers anymore. They have a really good pizza and a lot of different items on the menu to choose from. And it's all cheap. And remember this is townie bar food. Not gourmet at all. Now the service can be iffy. They have great, good, ok, and bit@&y bartender/servers. On of their great bartenders is Pam. I keep coming back to this place for one reason the beer is really cheap. If you can't get drunk off of $15.00 or way less during happy hour then you might have a problem. And that $15 includes tip. But hey your in Delano you can either go to the Applebee's and Spend $30+ for food and drinks. Or u can go to Daves and spend $15 for two large pours a meal and the tip. Try the place out.

What you see is what you get at Dave's. You are in the wrong place if you are expecting a gourmet meal, but if you want a simple burger and a cheap beer you won't be disappointed.

Dave's town club is a small townie bar and grill. The best thing about this places are the prices, everything from the food and drinks are the cheapest you'll find anywhere. The food is your typical bar food, nothing special. Service is hit it miss, if it's a Friday or Saturday night and they're busy, don't expect quick service, but it's all on par with the prices. Overall not a bad place if you're on a budget!

I've loved Dave's for years, but haven't loved it over the past year. The food is still outrageously affordable, but I've been so disappointed these past few visits. Dave's is a great place to sit and to drink. By all means, go there to drink a beer after work. Dave's is not a good place for conversation as it is always loud. Do not go there to catch up with old friends over dinner. If you eat, be prepared. Be prepared to always get onions even if you very, very specifically ask for no onions. Be prepared to wait much longer than you would expect for simple bar food. Be prepared to forage for your own silverware/condiments/drinks because nobody will check on you after your food is dropped off. I almost always end up going to the bar to ask for my food bill long after finishing what I can cover with ketchup enough to choke down. Burgers and fries have really gone downhill over the years. Last week I was served chocolate brown french fries, which even smelt burnt, yuck. I've heard that the pizza is still good! Oh Dave's, I want to love you again. I really do.

Okay, this is an interesting place. It feels like something out of a mid-west movie. I keep forgetting that I live in the mid-west these days. My kids love it. They run to the video games and I barely see them except when they are out of quarters. This gives me a chance to chat with my husband and have a beer. Other children are doing the same thing, so no one notices if the kids get a bit loud. It's VERY inexpensive and the burgers are good. It's not elegant, classy or trendy but they feed a hungry family very well.

All the folks that give Dave's bad reviews on yelp need to remember where they are going and what to expect from a town bar. This is not a hipster joint with a chef and a million dollar interior. If it was, the food and drinks would cost 4 times the current menu prices. Get real! If you want to take the kids out for good bar food (wings, burgers, fries, pizza) and have a drink or two for $30 or less, its the ONLY place I know of that still exists! The kitchen can be slow when it get busy, which is most nights around supper time, but its worth the wait. It's a good place to people watch and the kids love the old school arcade games or coloring a I LOVE DAVE'S poster that grace the walls of the dinning room while they wait for dinner. The food is good, if you like bar food. There are usually specials like "T-bone Night" or "Taco Night" that is a break from the usual fryer food. If you expect a dinning experience with "professionals" as some reviewers suggest, you are confused, misguided and should stay home. If you want to have fun, eat some great wings and maybe catch a buzz, Dave's is the place.

4 star burgers at a 5 start price. The rest of the menu is two stars (on 2 data points). Friendly place. A few decent beers. Stick to the burgers.

Dave's Town Club has been a staple in the Delano community for years. Since I have not lived in the area for 12 years now I had to come back to grab a beer and burger with my pops. Wow was I impressed! I looked at the simple menu and was unsure what to order. I went with Cheeseburger basket at $5. The waitress asked how I'd like my burger prepared so I said medium but not expecting much as usually bars dont cook your food correctly. I was pleasantly surprised with Matt, the cook, brought out my perfectly prepared burger. Who knew I'd get such a wonderful meal for only $5?! After chatting with some of the local bar patrons I found out that this place is all that and a bag of chips. For reals. Apparently they get fresh meat from the local meat market daily. Rieders Meats supplies the beef, bacon and other meaty things they sell at Daves. YUM! I will definitely come back to this place. During Happy Hour you can get any domestic beer on tap for $2.25 for a 25oz beer! Hellz yeah! or if you need to chill a 12oz mug will cost you a mere $1.60. I feel like I'm living back in Wisconsin during my college days getting fed & wasted for under $20. Other specials throughout the week include Monday night wings for $.25 a piece, Wednesday nights is a Mexican Buffet for $7.00 that changes every week. According to Harry, a frequent bar patron, Saturdays you must come down for Prime rib! "It's simply fantastic!" For only $11.95 you can get a Queen cut of the Prime rib or if you want the King you can get that for only $14.95. Of course you get a choice of potato, dinner roll, salad, vegetable and au jus for the dippin. I could go on and on about the variety of wings and homemade daily soups but you're just going to have to go check it out. Yum and I'm not broke!

If I had to wrap up this entire review into just a few sentences so you don't have to go into all the details, I would tell you that: Dave's Town Club puts absolutely no effort into any aspect of their restaurant. The employees are not motivated or professional, the food is not good, and the space itself is overly tacky. I think it bothers me the most to say this, because there are such simple fixes for them to be able to take pride in their food, as well as their restaurant as a whole... but since you've got like 3 restaurant options for Delano, I guess I can understand why they don't set a high bar... they have no one to compete with. What a waste. Here's the full review: I had set a really high bar after reading the positive reviews for this place. I am a little confused as to why it has received such great reviews... People are right in saying it's great for kids - because kids have no taste or opinion when it comes to quality food or atmosphere. The floors are carpeted which grosses me out, especially when I see food and french fries laying around on the ground. There's cheap, old faded Vikings posters on the wall, but everything just looks cluttered. They need a remodel. We stopped in to watch the Vikings game, so it's great they had TVs. The layout of the place, however, is kind of awkward. The space is long and narrow, with a crowded ugly room in the very back, packed with tables. Yes, there are old arcade games for the kids, but they're placed in the tiny hallway connecting the front/barroom with the ugly back room.... in other words not the best place for kids to be playing with traffic moving through. We ordered burgers that were extremely cheap (yay!) I had read they had great food for low prices, can't argue with that. .........the food we received..... was very disappointing. My burger was overcooked and the patty itself was a sorry excuse for a burger. I ordered the 1/4 lb, but this was like a MEATBALL. SPHERICAL-SHAPED. SMALL. I was literally staring at it wondering "What the Hell is this." I've had better burgers at McDonald's. The waffle fries were good. But I ordered a side of seasoned sour cream that tasted like... sour cream. MOST disappointing was definitely the service. The food took literally 30-40 minutes, and the place was not THAT busy. I have a feeling they only had one guy cooking in the back... a grungy-looking dude with a long ponytail... who frequently came out to deliver food to the guests. I should also add that I had a great view of the grungy-looking kitchen... eh. Our bartender server was a 20 something blonde dressed pretty casually. She brought my buddy chicken strips. He said, "Actually I ordered the Trio-Platter". She responds with, "No you didn't." Really? She did end up giving him a free beer, but that was a horrible way to treat a paying customer. The right response would have been "I'm so sorry I must have mis-heard you. I'll get that done on the fly. Did you guys want to keep the strips as an appetizer?" She was also a bit defensive when I asked if she knew when we would receive our food. I usually don't ask things like that, but we were worried she might have forgotten to put our order in because it took so long. She replied that they were really busy. I would say UNDER-STAFFED is a more appropriate way of putting it. I've worked in the restaurant industry and customer service in general for over 10 years, so I take a lot of pride in how I treat customers. There is nothing more important or impactful than good customer service. So it's a real shame to have people working these jobs who just don't care. You can sense they don't care - it's in the food, and it's in the atmosphere. You can literally taste their lack of caring (haha). If you are a child with little money and no taste, you will be just fine with this place.
