High Cholesterol at Whataburger

Calorie intake is the main concern for people with high cholesterol while dining at a fast-food restaurant like Whataburger. Well, you can always try the Lighter & Smaller options from the menu to cut down your fat intake. Opting for grilled sandwich or burgers are preferred compared to double meat or triple meat cheesy burgers which contain high cholesterol.

Foods to Avoid at Whataburger for High Cholesterol

Cut down on your meat intake to control your high cholesterol. You must skip Double Meat Whataburger and Triple Meat Whataburger at all costs. Whatacatch Dinner may sound tempting but the famous fish sandwich is also full of calories and unhealthy fat. Another few visits and portions still good, service still serviceable. Food still twisted great and the bartenders know what they're doing. But a side of Bacon???

I am giving one star only because I can't give any less than that. Probably one of the worst experiences my family and I have ever had. The restaurant was not overly busy for a Sunday evening in the summer. We seated ourselves on the outdoor patio and while the view was beautiful; that was the best part of our experience. We had to wait over 30 minutes just to get our side salads, which we had to ask for. I was told by the waitress they had a vinaigrette dressing, but they brought out regular vinegar and oil (which was fine, but not what I was told). We had to wait ANOTHER 30 minutes just to get our food. Shortly before our food came out, another waitress tried to bring our dinner salads in which I let her know how long we had been waiting. Our food finally came out at 70 minutes. SEVENTY. When it finally arrived my husband's walleye was cold, as were the fries in our kids' meals. I had to wait another 5 minutes for my food. My husband could not eat his walleye dinner it was so cold and unappetizing. He ordered a burger and fries which arrived within 10-12 minutes. The steamed vegetables on my plate were so cold that the shaved Parmesan cheese that was supposed to melt just sat on top of the vegetables. Also, who serves a cold tomato slice with steamed/grilled vegetables? When we got the bill and went to pay the server we had hoped they might compensate us just a little since we had to wait so extremely long and they acknowledged that we had to wait. There must have been an issue in the kitchen as they mentioned that the Head Chef was now in. Our disappointment continued when we saw all they did was remove the inedible walleye dinner and comp half of the burger he had to order. Horrible experience. I suspect they get so much traffic because boats can dock and get gas, but that doesn't make up for the experience. Our waitress wouldn't even make eye contact with us as we sat there and waited and waited and waited. There are other places to eat in Cross Lake, go there, to any of them. They have to be better than this place.

Best place to go on the lake! Large groups can expect to wait, but enjoy the ambience /- knotty pine and pine log EVERYTHING ! They updated the bathrooms too :) Get the Shrimp Bang bang or the burger basket -- fantastic bartenders who are glad to see you ! Dock guys are the Best ! Come every weekend if you can

  • Dave B.

Skip this place, unless you like lousy service and food. Ribs are not meant to be prepared in a slow cooker. Once our food was delivered we never seen the waitress again till she dropped the check off. They probably missed out on selling about 12 or so cocktails from our party. The only nice thing about this place is the outdoor seating.

    (1)
  • Sue S.

Not sure how we could have had a worse experience. Setting is the only reason to patronize. Food is boring bar food of poor quality and hadn't been updated in decades. No GF options. The servers could care less about their customers. We will not be back.

I have always loved this place! We recently started going here for breakfast too and the food is great. It's a great location, casual atmosphere and great service. We'll continue to come back time and time again. :)

Get the Tex Mex for breakfast. The chorizo is yummy! But whatever you do, unless you haven't eaten in a month, don't get the full! It is a giant tortilla stuffed with hash browns, eggs and chorizo. They call it spicy sausage?! We got the full and 4 of us were able to have it for breakfast. Now I would like to give 7 stars for the bloody mary. The garnishes? Out of this world! Beef stick, cocktail HUGE shrimp, olive, peppercini, pickle. The Mary itself - perfect! Spicy, tangy, delish! We also ate dinner there. Husband got the French dip and he liked it. I got the sirloin blackened. You have to specify Cajun style but it was a perfectly cooked Medium and the mea was great quality. I got a side of steamed veggies (yellow carrots and beans) and MN wild rice. MN is home of the wild rice, if you didn't know. But please, go for the Bloody Mary and try a chaser of the Left Bridge Hop Dish. The HD is the best beer in MN right now! (But it might be from WI)

The view from the balcony on the second floor of this restaurant is pretty spectacular. One looks out on two lakes and the channel in between them (where this restaurant is located). The food is pretty much American fare with an emphasis on fresh-water fish. Sandwiches, baskets of nnn and fries are the luch fare with more hearty items included for dinner. It has a full bar and the service is prompt. It often fills up for views of the sunset and, if you have to wait outside, the mosquitos will devour you. There's a gas station for boats located on the channel and often one sees families with water ski iquipment topping off the tanks.

  • Joseph O.

Great venue - right on the channel between Cross and Rush Lakes, and, as a huge plus, they allow well-behaved dogs outside on their patio. The food is okay, not great, but there's the problem: over the past couple of years, The Wharf has gotten to be the most expensive place to eat in the area. Burgers are 30% more expensive than Moonlight, and the drinks are more expensive too. I would give this place a 4-star rating if they were more competitive on prices. Bottom line: go to Moonlight.

  • Emily E.

Great service. Super friendly and up beat wait staff. Food and drinks were served quickly. Food was great for what it was- good burgers, fries and onion rings. If you're looking for a place with a fun atmosphere and good burgers-This is it.

  • Jack M.

Great summer atmosphere - fun watching the boats cruise by. The food was great! Lots of fun drinks and good beer selection.

  • Dan S.

Food is good and it is the place to be during a Saturday afternoon in the summer to people/boat watch. It is the place to be seen and seen at.

    (4)
  • J W.

Two stars for food four stars for location and a fun place to people and boat watch. Food is always iffy so stay with the simple items that are hard to screw up. Prices again reflect the location an not the quantity or quality of food.

Like other people have said....location is beautiful and perfect when dining outside! I had breakfast. It was the small version of the cajun breakfast and i am glad the waitress stopped me when i said large because she said the small is enough for a grown man, boy was she right! I thought there was just too many hashbrowns in this dish cause they werent done enough for me. The hollandaise sauce was pretty good but maybe too much of that was laddled over the dish because it overpowered it. The marbled rye would have been great but i asked for it to be well done and it wasnt even close to being well done. The concept behind this dish was right on though. The bloody mary with a beer chaser was excellent! Just the right amt of spice and vodka made this an enjoyable cocktail. This rating is from my dish but my families meal was quite delicious and 5 star.

  • Ken W.

Food and service at the bar is great! If you sit at a table...service goes down quickly! It's spendy too! But a great location on the channel!

    (4)
  • Tim G.

Well the boat parking is cool, but...... the food is way overpriced for a plate of fried food. Unless you are sitting outside on the patio and you are a regular, you will have terrible terrible service. I had 6 servers walk by my empty drink. No one ever asked how the food was, and the price was way too high for the mediocre at best onion rings and burgers. For a place that relies on the summer season, you should step up your game.

  • Bobby W.

Hello Folks!!! order the Crosslake Burger! it is AWSOME. 2nd Choice is the Jamaican Burger!!

    (4)
  • J L.

The location is one of the best in Minnesota but the food is your typical bar food but over priced. The services is slow but the drinks are good. To quickly sum it up, location location location. That is why I would come to this bar/restaurant.

  • Robert D.

Have to split the difference and give it 3 stars. The breakfast and Bloody Marys were great. Omelets, pancakes and Bloodys with beer chasers are hard to beat. We came back for dinner. They had an extensive cocktail menu and all of our drinks were good. The meals in our party of 9 were very mixed. Steaks and salmon were good, the Captain's Walleye was not. It was overcooked and way too heavy on the batter. The Key Lime pie desert was not good at all but the Molten cake hit the spot. Stick to the burger and sandwich menu and order up on the cocktails. Definitely come in for breakfast. They have boat slips as well as plenty of parking spaces in their lot. Have both downstairs bar area seating as well as quieter, family oriented seating upstairs. Despite some of the menu choices, would surely come back.

Food almost ok. Have given them numerous chances. I think they are over rated personally. Yes the view from the second floor deck is mighty fine. Strictly very casual and come as you are

  • K P.

The food is really good here BUT it's way overpriced. We ordered four lunches (normal stuff like burgers and chicken fingers) and the bill was over $70! We enjoy sitting out on the deck and watching the boats go by but I wish they'd upgrade the deck and furniture out there. Also, on the upper deck, the railing is built in a way that it obstructs your view of the water. The furniture looks like it was made of old packing crates and could not be more uncomfortable. The bathrooms are dingy and dark. The service is fairly prompt, but I notice it's faster for people who order alcoholic drinks (which I'm sure is where they make their money). The location of this restaurant is great for people-watching, and the gas dock is very handy!

    (3)
  • Lisa K.

Great location, expensive, mediocre food. Good people watching on a nice day, and plenty of boat parking.

    (2)
  • Mike D.

Was there for lunch and sat in the crows nest. Nice view and pretty good bar food but the place needs a good cleaning and some tidy-ing up. Nice property and friendly staff. Impressive wine selection but did not partake. Definitely seems to be a night spot as it had the feel of a bachelor pad the morning after a good party when everyone has a hangover and the house is a mess.

  • William T.

Yum!!! We had black n bleu burger and Captains Walleye. Both were excellently prepared and perfectly done. Fries were perfect balance of crispness and softness. We'll be back next time we are in the area.

  • Chanie M.

If I am going to eat pub food in the area, I eat it here. Not to mention the tasty breakfast that they offer with catchy chain-oriented names. The bar scene is weird at night, but can be fun if you're with the right people and enjoy talking to locals. Servers are pretty nice, but I don't come here for good service.

  • Dawn S.

Went for breakfast and ordered eggs Benedict.eggs hard so sent back. Told 45 minutes to get new order. Cancelled order. They still bought out reorder and just as bad. Talked to manager and she made excuses rather than rectifying situation. We are locals and love this place off season. Apparently once it's season mgmt does not care about quality. Will not be back.

  • William D.

On our boat tour of the chain of lakes we always stop in for a couple of cold bevrages & some cheese curds. The views of the channel (& clientel) are pretty cool. Your basic bar food ,enhanced by the above mentioned sights.

    (4)
  • Kat W.

What's disappointing is that their old chef moved to the Manhattan Beach Lodge's restaurant. However, the location is great because its on a channel and they have an ample number of boat ties. They also get major points for having seating on their lawn, patio and second-floor balcony. It simply cannot be beaten for a good meal or drink/apps in the summer.
