New to Yelp and can't believe no reviews for Riverside. Been coming to Crosslake for years and Riverside is a must go for dinner or lunch or Sunday Brunch. Food is very good. Lobster Bisque is amazing. Au Gratin potatos awesome. steaks, burgers, sandwiches - all excellent. Prices are what you expect for this area. Friendly and prompt service. The owners are always there and make you feel welcome.
We have been coming to Crosslake every summer for 20 years, and Riverside Inn has the best food in town. My husband loves the lobster bisque (lots of lobster in it!). The fried chicken is perfection! They have an all-you-can-eat chicken special on Tuesday and Thursday nights. Great steaks, au gratin potatoes, salads, sandwiches. (I especially like the shaved prime rib sandwich!) The only item on the menu that I'm not crazy about is the shrimp scampi -- sometimes the shrimp is a little overcooked and it sits in a puddle of watery butter. Everything else is delicious! The service is prompt and friendly. They really make sure you're taken care of. If you sit in back at the window tables or out on the deck, you get a beautiful view of the Pine River and all the wildlife around it. A great restaurant for families and large groups too!
My family and I had dinner at Riverside tonight. Atmosphere is so cozy and the staff is all so friendly. Our server was very attentive, we never waited for anything. Drinks and food were timely with our salads arriving quickly. The dinner salads came on a chilled plate - very reminiscent of the good ol supper clubs! The walleye was delicious and not a bone to be seen. Other dishes at our table were the BLT, Chili, Dagwood Sandwich and a kids chicken strips. We all loved the entire experience start to finish. Definitely dine at Riverside if you are looking for a cozy and delicious meal.

Rafferty’s Pizza

Reviews:
Thank you Rafferty's for having Gluten Free pizza. You are innovators to a small town. I can't speak for the service, since I have never dined in (I only get take out). Very unique selections for pizza options, and seems like a fun, kid friendly place in our nice town square.
If you remember (and liked) "Shaky's Pizza" or have ever enjoyed "Round Table Pizza" on the west coast, then Rafferty's will bring back fond memories... Just a little less semolina flour dusting the crust. We enjoy the Crosslake installation a bit more than the Nisswa version, but they both deserve three+ stars. The house pizza's are not too adventurous, but the crust is noteworthy and the beer is cheap. Don't expect Pizza Luce, or even (the good) Davanni's, but Rafferty's is still far superior to Dominos', Pizza Hut, Papa John's or any other big chain. It's especially great for kids. If you find yourself in the lakes area craving a decent slice of 'za, then Rafferty's will tide you over.
Stopped for for lunch. Was greater by very nice and friendly staff. Ordered a pizza and wings. Wings are baked which we like. Sat outside on their nice patio and where aloud to have our small dog join us there while we ate lunch. Pizza was fresh and done just right. Now we are not talking wood fired thin crust but basic and tasty za. Would stop by again.

Food was pretty good but the restaurant was a bit drafty and I forgot to bring a sweater. If your coming here make sure to Bring a light sweater or a long sleeve shirt of some kind and order a hot beverage like coffee or hot chocolate to keep warm.
Been coming here since the days when it was the Crosslake Cafe. Visiting the Pine Peaks is a summer lake weekend tradition for our family, but I stop in on day trips up north in the winter months as well. The weekend breakfast buffet is good, with standard fare and salad bar available. Very good pancakes off the menu, but the ones on the buffet seem different. The veggie breakfast skillet and chicken fried steak are great. Service can occasionally be a bit slow, but not terrible as the place tends to be very busy. Adjoining gift shop is a good place for kid tshirts and home garden items. We were at the Pine Peaks on Thursday, might go back Monday morning!
I have come here for years for breakfast. never have been here for lunch or dinner, so can't comment on that. The breakfast is always outstanding, anything I have had is great. My favorite is....well, any omelet they make. Service is always very, very good and even when the are packed - which is often in the summer - the kitchen cranks out your order amazingly fast..

Reviews:
My Boyfriend and I started frequenting this place back in 2013 when we first bought a lake home in the area. What we liked about the place was that for the most part drinks were a decent price and the food was pretty good. We especially liked the Friday Night Fish Fry. Whenever we had out of town guests we brought them here. After a while we became less enamored. There is a very cliquish group there and they are not friendly even though we made some overtures. Anyway, last weekend we had out of town guests so I called the Cedar Chest early on a Friday and asked for a reservation for a nice table on the deck. We arrived a few minutes early and ALL THE TABLES WERE OCCUPIED. We got stuck in the way back corner table. I went in to talk to the owner who was tending bar. When I explained the situation she said it was too bad but all the tables got taken by people who just sat down. I said I had a reservation. She said she couldn't help where people sit. I asked her what was the point of the reservation then. She had nothing else to say. No apology. Nothing. I wanted to leave but everyone was hungry and was looking forwad to the fish. I won't go back ever. I am sure they won't miss my business and won't care.
First time here and enjoyed it. Definitely a local joint. There for dinner and got to partake in happy hour. They give you what looks like a pull tab to determine the cost of your drink. I got two drinks for $1.00 each! My steak was overcooked but tasted good and my baked potato was delicious! Husband had a pizza and it was decent, although likely frozen. Great service, appears to be a family run place? All in all a good place and we will likely go back again.
We love coming here-- I'm sure everything is good, but we stick with the broasted Chicken- fantastic!

Ate here on June 13th. Bartender Mike is the "BEST". Food is great, service is great. I had the Walleye Tacos. I wanted something different to drink. Mike whipped me up a Stella go Naked. Stella Cidre, Grey Goose & Lemonade served in a wine glass. My new favorite summer drink.
Good service...items on the menu...not delivered as advertised. Specialty drink did not have two of the four "specialty items!!!!" Ordered the burger "medium rare," was told no problem!! Came back "well!" Was juicy, but tasteless for me. arrivederci Bourbon Room!! We live two miles from this establishment, but don't have the same affinity for it since it was no longer the Ox Tavern!!. Too many other options. Joe
I'm reserving judgement until we get our food--but the staff are friendly and the Chardonnay is cold! It's warm in here and it's rainy and cold outside.

Another few visits and portions still good, service still serviceable. Food still twisted great and the bartenders know what they're doing. But a side of Bacon???
I am giving one star only because I can't give any less than that. Probably one of the worst experiences my family and I have ever had. The restaurant was not overly busy for a Sunday evening in the summer. We seated ourselves on the outdoor patio and while the view was beautiful; that was the best part of our experience. We had to wait over 30 minutes just to get our side salads, which we had to ask for. I was told by the waitress they had a vinaigrette dressing, but they brought out regular vinegar and oil (which was fine, but not what I was told). We had to wait ANOTHER 30 minutes just to get our food. Shortly before our food came out, another waitress tried to bring our dinner salads in which I let her know how long we had been waiting. Our food finally came out at 70 minutes. SEVENTY. When it finally arrived my husband's walleye was cold, as were the fries in our kids' meals. I had to wait another 5 minutes for my food. My husband could not eat his walleye dinner it was so cold and unappetizing. He ordered a burger and fries which arrived within 10-12 minutes. The steamed vegetables on my plate were so cold that the shaved Parmesan cheese that was supposed to melt just sat on top of the vegetables. Also, who serves a cold tomato slice with steamed/grilled vegetables? When we got the bill and went to pay the server we had hoped they might compensate us just a little since we had to wait so extremely long and they acknowledged that we had to wait. There must have been an issue in the kitchen as they mentioned that the Head Chef was now in. Our disappointment continued when we saw all they did was remove the inedible walleye dinner and comp half of the burger he had to order. Horrible experience. I suspect they get so much traffic because boats can dock and get gas, but that doesn't make up for the experience. Our waitress wouldn't even make eye contact with us as we sat there and waited and waited and waited. There are other places to eat in Cross Lake, go there, to any of them. They have to be better than this place.
Best place to go on the lake! Large groups can expect to wait, but enjoy the ambience /- knotty pine and pine log EVERYTHING ! They updated the bathrooms too :) Get the Shrimp Bang bang or the burger basket -- fantastic bartenders who are glad to see you ! Dock guys are the Best ! Come every weekend if you can

Service was good food not so much. Chicken pesto pizza wasn't bad but the crust was so soggy. Spaghetti sauce was so disappointing. Beer was cold the up side to the meal
Great place for up north to get away from the typical burger and pizza bars all over. Always a great place to go.
For a family run business, they don't know how to cook Italian. My noodles were so soggy they fell off the fork. When we sat down, the waitress asked if we wanted menus! It was a bar more than a restaurant, so it sounded like the patrons were having a LOT of fun.

Moonlite Bay Family Restaurant & Bar

Crosslake, 56442
Reviews:
Being on the lake is a huge advantage for Moonlite. It is the place to go on the Whitefish chain for nightlife and it has plenty of dock space to park your boat. Its usually busy during the summer months and its hard to find a table on the patio on nice days. The food is average, but the service is the worst. The staff likes to ignore you if you are at the bar waiting for a drink. Not good.
Very bad food and service with high prices (typical up north crap)! But a fun place to hang out and have a couple beers on the patio!
Disclaimer: **This review is solely based on the atmosphere and the nachos.** The atmosphere is fantastic. I don't live near water and this lake makes me really wish I did. Moonlite bar has a great patio to sit and watch the boats and look at the lake. It also has great tv's inside in case it gets too cold or you want to watch a game. Now for the nachos. They were served and I thought "What the heck is this sh*t"as the top had a bunch of unmelted shredded cheese. I thought I was being served a cold, crappy plate of nachos. Boy was I wrong. Underneath the unmelted cheese is layers of absolute awesomeness. Melted cheese, delicious ground beef, lettuce and olives. I was sold. Please don't yell at me if you come here and order something else and have a bad experience. The nachos is where it's at. #boatlife

It's a pull up bar! Great place to come on the Lake! Fun tiki bar-- pretty good food but wonderful ambience and service
Excellent food with a nice view! My family all enjoyed their food. The sweet potatoes fries were absolutely delicious! I had the Pesto Pizza which was pretty good, and the pepper poppers which were quite tasty. The service was good and the prices for lunch were decent. There is a nice view of the lake with a north woods cabiny atmosphere. For vacationers in Cross Lake this is a good spot!
We are staying at the Whitefish Lodge and received a coupon for the restaurant here. Although it was a great coupon, (buy one get one of equal or lesser value free) the food was not good at all. If your looking to drink and have a good view of the lake, then this place would be for you.
