Often in life we find ourselves on hard times. Those days when it's between the much-needed medical procedure for your youngest child and the succulent taste of a mouth-watering 5 dollar foot long*. This Subway makes it easy to decide between the two. There is something to be said for the sheer boldness of their Sandwich Artisans. They combine ingredients like Picasso blended paints. They do things to your tastebuds that are illegal in several counties in Utah. They make an atheist find God within four bites. Their services are so incredible that you half-expect them to call you the morning after to tell you how great of a time they had. Also includes a handy indoor seating area for eating your meals at the location (I mean, who even does that anymore?), as well as free napkins to wipe the extra honey mustard off of your face and out of your hair. #yoloswag #sandwichartist4life *only when its on a promo deal or when the owner isn't around to catch the Sandwich Artists ringing up the sandwichs for the cheapest one on the menu and pocketing the chain

First time here and it is BOMB. I had the daily special summer sausage sandwich. I picked soft rye with lettuce tomato mayo and provolone cheese. It was excellent and for $4 a pretty good value also. Generous portions of fresh meat and cheese. The cookies were soft chewy and delish. Atmosphere is pretty cool as a break from the normal lunch spots. The staff is very friendly and helpful. A great experience.... I will be back.
Great selection of meats and cheese, and some left over bones with marrow for the dog. Staff seemed friendly, the location was clean and well organized. We visited many times and never had a complaint. All meat we tasted was of good quality and the staff were very attentive but respectful.
Absolute A+ on service. I've only been here once, but I felt very welcome when I asked a question. They have a large variety of meats and also have a nice seating area inside. I would certainly recommend this business.

Bella Pizza

We love Bella! Their specialty pizzas are the bomb...buffalo chicken fries & the Alfredo pizza are our favorites. Super friendly staff too. One of our fave places in our hometown. You won't be disappointed, this is a great pizza place!
Absolute greasy goodness is the best way to describe Bella Pizza in Cottage Grove, pizza chains are a dime a dozen across the country but this place shines on my taste buds. The cheese is thick, toppings just right, crust is not too thin but just right in that sweet spot between perfect crisp but not too much and much less dough than hand tossed. I personally would add a sort of crumb base to perfect the flavors a bit more, but it is not needed. Overall very good pizza for the price. Definitely give 'em a call next time I've got the craving.
Buff chicken pizza is my favorite, wait... jalapeno and pinapple, uggg yes all so good. Delivery drivers are not just some young punk kids. They are all very nice and polite. Food is outstanding!!! We only order pizza from here.

I think about every time I go here I get excellent food and service plus I think it's about always really clean
I liked my first visit to one of these, so came back for another. This time to have some of the highly recommended custard. It was fine, but not great. To be fair, I don't know what "Great" custard would be either, but this was not it. However, this location is also nice, wifi works well inside, there is outside seating with umbrellas, it was all clean, employees are nice. Parking is easy. But then it seems to be easy all around here.
I know, I know, it's a chain.... But it's such a yummy, inviting, addictive and friendly chain, that I can't help loving it. Their burgers are good, their cheese curds are yum, their mashed potatoes are great and their "ice cream" (frozen custard) is incredible! Plus they let me order the kids meals and don't make me feel silly. I mean, who doesn't want a grilled cheese sandwich and a vanilla ice cream cone now and then? The restaurant is always super clean, the employees are always friendly, there are some TVs in the dining area for your entertainment, and there's even a fireplace for the winter months. (Or people like me who insist on eating frozen dairy even when they are already shivering.) Summer is the best, because you can eat outside AND because they have the Lemon Ice (with strawberries. Mmm. Or raspberries. Drool. Or blueberries....aaah....)

Tom Moy’s Cafe

I grew up in Cottage Grove, Tom Moys was and still the best Chinese food I have ever had. I remember when it was strictly a take out counter. I remember seeing Mr Moy using an abacus to do his books. He was a nice man and made his customers feel like old friends rather than customers. It was a sad day when he passed away. When they expanded to include a small cafe that was wonderful. The servers were great and always remembered your name and even knew what you would order etc. When I left for the navy my parents would take me to Tom Moys whenever I was home on leave. When my parents passed away they even sent a card. When I have been back to MN I always stop at Tom Moys to eat. I wish we had a place like Tom's here in Indiana where I now live. Nothing compares to them.
I've been going to Tom Moy for over 35 years and it is absolutely the best Asian restaurant in the entire state of Minnesota! my biggest recommendation you can't miss the fried rice it is to die for!
Tom Moy's is great for take-out dinners; delicious food and quick, polite service. I love the real chicken chow mein, the fried rice, the egg fu yung, and the pork wontons are so delicious! The people complaining about the chicken vs real chicken thing must not eat a lot of Chinese take out, because it's quite common. I don't mind it...the real chicken chow mein and the real chicken fried rice are both amazing! The first thing I wanted when I got off the plane from California was Tom Moy's...you just cannot get chow mein like this in California.

Decided to give this place a second chance after they failed on my first try. THAT was my mistake! I WILL NOT spend a DIME at this location EVER again! The first time they forgot dressing for the salad we ordered, not a huge deal until they made it a 45 minute wait. This time it was an online order, stated the normal hour, hour and ten minutes until delivery. Two minutes past the latest projected delivery time a phone call to the store gets me a "the driver just left" response from the lady who answered my call. Thirty three minutes after that my next phone call gets me a "sorry we were busy from the football game, and you should've been quoted delivery times were an hour to an hour and a half" response, to which I explain to Melanie (the manager I spoke with) that its been WELL past that time frame, she apologized and did as any food manager should and attempted to remedy the problem by offering a free meal on them next visit. I explained that wouldn't be necessary as I won't be giving them the option to screw up a third time! As I stated earlier, we ordered online, at 6:15, our food did not get to our house till well after 8. The the driver apologized for the delay and explained that it took so long because they were short of delivery drivers...I'm sorry?!? Football game or not, don't use the manager or owners lack of planning as an excuse for why it takes over two hours to get food ten minutes from your business! It's a shame, because the pizza is generally pretty good. But not worth the headache of having to deal with THIS location! Save yourself the time AND frustration, go to a different Carbone's!
Carbone's is a good stop if you are in the mood for some Hot Dago's or a pizza in Cottage Grove. In fact, it is the only sit down restaurant of this kind there so you don't really have much choice if that is what you are in the mood for. I usually come here on my way home from a long day skiing at Afton Alps, and nothing hits the spot better. The sandwiches are excellent and the Pizzas are good. They do tend to be on the greasy side, but they are not too bad. Just don't bring calorie counters with you... Unless you like watching them squirm :) As for the decor, it is fairly simple, with a few LCD tv's on the wall where sports are played. I believe they often have Fantasy football drafts here for people's leagues, so if you are in need of a location it might be worth a look. At any rate, give it a shot if in the area as it will fulfill your needs, but I wouldn't drive across the cities for it.
Their pizza is great, it has a nice thin crust just the way I like it. Don't expect a huge beer selection, just the basics.

Starbucks

Reviews:
I've visited this Starbucks a few times now for my caffeine fix, and they have yet to disappoint. I am a sucker for holiday ciders, hot cocoas and lattes, but I don't want to blindly sip down 400 calories...so I love that (like most Starbucks) they have the calorie count listed on the board for their holiday drinks (and they always have the info readily available for their regular menu items). They have quite a few custom options, if you ask. For diabetics or calorie-conscious caffeine addicts, they have about 10 different sugar-free syrups (including peppermint for the holidays), so you don't have to miss out on your favorite flavors just because you want a drink sans sugar. Yesterday I tried the gingerbread latte (which was delicious btw), but my BF prefers a warm chai latte to its caffeinated counterparts--he also knows there's tons of sugar in the concentrate they use to make their chai (and he's been trying to watch his waistline). So, I asked them if there was any way to make it sugar-free. Although not the same, they were able to whip up something similar that did the trick--By steeping a chai teabag, mixing it 50/50 with steamed milk infused with cinnamon & nutmeg, and finally adding sugar-free sweetener, they created a sugar-free chai tea latte :) They really aim to please at this Starbucks, which is why I will continue to stop here whenever I'm in town.
Drive-thru is the only reason I go here. It's good coffee. I wish they wouldn't try to sell you on stuff you don't ask for. Decent place.
I love Starbucks, but this is the worst one I visited, and this isn't based on one experience! One, they are always talking amongst themselves, never greet as you enter and often times don't exchange in small talk or eye contact at the hand off plane! Once at the drive thru, I said my order slower since they had yet to get it right four times prior, and I was met with a sassy and even slower repeat of the order in a very mocking way! Plus they are rude to each other, when they aren't talking to you and your waiting a few minutes for your drink you cant help but listen in... They were ridiculing a new girl in front of customers, imagine what they say about you when you leave!

Dairy Queen

Everything a smaller town DQ should be: They hit the fundamentals of their product, and there's a really nice local vibe here. Something about seeing the little league team sprawled across the patio slurping ice cream cones is very reassuring, like Charelton Heston whispering Charolette's Web in your ear as you fall asleep. There are two small downsides to this locations. One, it's on the side of a divided road so if you're on the wrong side you'll have to work a little to get in. Two, the drive through lines can get really long. Otherwise it's a really cute DQ with a walk-up window (no inside seating) and a nice patio.
The thing that makes this Dairy Queen so maddeningly difficult to review is that everything negative are things they have no control over! For example, their location. They are right on 80th St, and easy to get to if you're already traveling east- just turn into their lot. But if you're coming from the other direction, you have to turn by the Walgreens, go through a stoplight, a stop sign, and a hotel parking lot to get there. Similarly, when you're leaving- if you want to go east, no problem, just turn right out of their lot. But if you want to go west, you've got to go east and then try and find a place to whip a u-ie, and let me tell you- there's no legal place within a half-mile to even do this! My other complaint is that they're not a "full service" DQ, which makes me sad, because then I have to go all the way to the middle of Woodbury whenever I have a chicken tenders, toast, and gravy craving. Otherwise it's a standard DQ: walk-up window for ordering, and some outdoor tables. They have a drive-through, which gets pretty crowded in the summer, but they get through the orders pretty quick, and the employees are always friendly.
