Davanni’s Pizza & Hot Hoagies

5937 Summit Dr
Brooklyn Center, 55430
Reviews:
I've been in town for a couple of weeks and Davanni's is one of the few places that delivers. They are fast, good, and most things are worth the money. I did get a single serve pasta dish once that literally only had two bites to it but every other time the portions have been adequate. My only complaint is that everything had Gorgonzola on it. I like Gorgonzola but it is sometimes overpowering the other flavors.
The medium veggie pizza is awesome. I wasn't sure if the medium would be enough for my wife and i. We were stuffed and had 2 pieces to take home which was a nice addition to our next night' supper.
My wife grew up on Davanni's. So every time we're in town we have to stop by one of their locations. This past week we stopped by twice -- both times for lunch. The first time I got a pizza hoagie. It's essentially a pepperoni pizza in a hoagie roll. Pepperoni, sauce, and mozzarella on a toasted bun. It's definitely a tasty sammie with a little zing coming from the sauce and pepperoni. During my second stop, I went with a solo white pizza with chicken, onions, and pineapple. It was a small, four-slice pie on a regular crust that was a perfect balance of crispy and chewy. Even though it was busy both times I stopped by, service was still fairly quick. Davanni's is the kind of place you order at the counter and when your food is ready they'll call your number or name. Both times we waited less than 15 minutes. They may not have the best food out there, but for the price -- and considering it's a locally-owned Minneapolis staple -- it's a place that I know I'll revisit the next time I'm in town.

The Global Kitchen

Reviews:
Not in the mood for a Big Mac? The Global Kitchen offers a combination of Latin and West African menu; guaranteed to titillate you with exotic alternatives for your dining. I feel bad for friends and the locals that live here. I am sure they would literally kill me if they found out I told people about this spot. It is a double edged sword, i am sure they want the spot to themselves and don't want it packed all the time, but then i am sure they realize, it won't be open for much long if there isn't a lot of foot traffic for this new business. Very charming, undiluted little place with great neighborhood restaurants and neat shops nearby. it's not inconvenient to get to at all, just off of 94 West and Shingle Creek Pkwy. Great India & 50's Grill are two of my other favorite spots close by. It is a half-baked menu but a very interesting one to try; my personal favorite from the African menu is the divinely flavorsome and heavenly scrumptious 'Couscous' (steamed semolina, with vegetables and your choice of meat) and from the Latin menu, the 'Caldo De Camaron' (Shrimp soup) has a very unusual taste but superb nevertheless. 'THE DON'T MESS WITH JOSE BURRITO THE MIDWEST'S BIGGEST BURRITO' is literally the biggest burrito you have ever laid eyes on. Very clean, calm relaxing atmosphere with great service; it is only a matter of time before yelpers realize this sheltered, mouth-watery new spot.
Enjoyable meal; the owner was nice the food was very good; the only downside was service was slow.
Food was good. Food was also over priced and very slow service for only three people being there.

Only place close to me that's open late & it's become my go-to. Great food & service. They are a little slow at times, but the staff has always been extremely friendly to me.
Mayyybe it's because I came here extremely hangry, but that cheeseburger was GOOOOOOD. It's fast food, yes. But it didn't arrive quickly. No worries, I'll wait a bit longer for easy-to-make food. It's also sorely lacking in customer service. It's all teenagers who would rather you didn't bother them by interrupting their conversations and texting. *eye roll* See - two can play at this game! The cheeseburger tasted fresh (think more Culvers than McDonalds) and the few fries I swiped were the kind that seem like they are dipped in breadcrumbs before frying. In a super hungry pinch, this place fit the bill.
It does have good food there but TERRIBLE TERRIBLE SERVICE! They need to get some new management and new employees. Sat in the drive thru for 25min!! Went to the window an all I seen was the employees talking and having good time. Honked at em and they jus looked at me and went back to talkin. They obviously don't care about their job! Wish there was another location other than this. I'd go across town for Better service!! Sucks the service and people are so terrible, but it's great food.

Panera Bread

Reviews:
i love the soufflés (pretty much the only thing I like) but the last dozen times I have come in within an hour of opening I walked right back out the door. They're ALWAYS out!! And I can't even special order them. I'm finding somewhere else with soufflés because panera has wasted so much of my time and gas!!! It sounds petty but I stop for breakfast everyday but never get any frickin breakfast!!!
I have been frequenting this Panera Bread lately the last few months. They have different management now, the customer service, cleanliness of the facility and food quality has definitely gone up, from what it used to be... Drastic change from what I remember ..even from a year ago. I am glad I decided to check this Panera out again. What a change, now it is pretty outstanding! One time I went in with my mother - - my mom doesn't like restaurants, but she adores Panera, so if f we go out to eat, we like to visit a Panera- - and we were sharing, since the portion is so big, and we got two plates, two forks, two of everyting without even asking! Now that's customer service! I don't know the new manager's name, but he is always going around, and making sure everything is good. He and his staff is always pleasant.
My wife and I stopped for lunch today. We've never been to Panera Bread previously so I can't speak to differing locations, but, we will never go to another Panera Bread. I had an Italian sandwich on ciabatta bread; my wife had the worst French onion soup I've ever had the displeasure of tasting. The soup was room temperature and a far cry from French onion soup anywhere. My Italian sandwich was dry and equally tasteless. We also shared a very dry brownie that seemed to feel and taste a few weeks old. It's been ten hours now and my wife is sick to her stomach and belching the awful taste of that soup. We must be strange as we don't understand the hype over this chain.

The food wasn't good and the service wasn't good either. I was really sad cause I love applebees.
This place is just a disaster , s$&@ hole place , terrible pasta , when you order an appetizer and you have just started eating it and the food comes out it is just horrible , pasta is severely over cooked , don't ever come here

I love their chicken but they have the slowest and worst service ever! Horrible service!!!
Went there for dinner. Didn't get my entire order. Make sure to check your order before leaving their parking lot!! Out of a lot of items. Slow staff. This restaurant has been open for six months and the level of service has seriously deteriorated. If you are craving Popeye's I'd try a different location. Good luck trying to call them because they don't answer their phone and their mailbox is full.
I got a two-piece combo, and both breasts were barely lukewarm. Later, I ordered two of their pumpkin pies and an apple pie. They gave me all pumpkin pies, and all of them were lukewarm. I went in the bathroom, now anxious to get the frell out of there, and noticed the flour on the inside handle in the bathroom. That means employees don't wash their hands when using the toilet. Nice. Not EVER going back.
