For more than 100 years, this place was a bar. Now, it's a quaint, rural restaurant alongisde the bike trail. You'll find home-cooked style food - they're known for their excellent broasted chicken - and delicious desserts. In addition to the friendly service, the home-style food, and the cute decor, the restaurant also sells an assortment of one-of-a-kind merchandise, clothing items, soaps, and home decor that you're not likely to find elswhere... merchandise such as garden blocks from Blessing & Light, and other items that make great gifts. There is usually a daily buffet special (the best being Wednesday's broasted chicken buffet). This is a nice small-town restaurant that's not a bar. It's a great place for taking your family, or older relatives.

When you walk in the door of Jordie's you should have a pretty good idea of what to expect - home cooking served by friendly people that doesn't cost much at all. Don't expect garnishes, don't expect a paleo menu, don't expect matching chairs at the table. But if your expectations are right, this is a great place for a slice of pie or some crispy hashbrowns (claimed to be the best in the world by my 94 year-old grandfather).

Unremarkable. Maybe we were just unlucky. We sat outside at a table in the garden area. Thought someone would clean the bird crap off our table but...nope. After the server finally showed up (a very nice girl who tried very hard to handle whatever tables she was covering). We ordered a chicken sandwich and a chicken wrap. I ordered my wrap with on onions. It took significantly over an hour to get our food. Soup was cold tasted OK and my wrap had loads of raw onions. Server asked how is your food?... So I mentioned it had onions. She apologized and offered to have the kitchen make another....like we were going to wait another hours and a half to get that. Our food was certainly not noteworthy/special. Apparently the pie is famous/good. Advice would be... stick with the pie and plan on a two+ hour event.

I met a friend here for pie, and what a pie it was! Located in a beautiful old brick building across from the Soo Line Trail, Jordie's is impeccably clean, and decorated in a familiar, kitschy, small town manner. I had a large and decadent piece of 'forest floor pie', which included apples and any kind of berry you can think of. The pie was generously dotted with whipped cream and rested on a berry sauce. The crust wasn't as flaky as I prefer but was tender and flavorful, so I can't really complain. The filling wasn't overly syrupy, and though I was skeptical of all the flavors in one pie, the difference from bite to bite made for a great pie eating experience. The coffee was even adequately strong! I'll have to come back some time and have a full meal in the hopes of upgrading them to five stars. As it stands, it is my new favorite pie shop!

I no longer live in the area but this is one of the places I HAVE to go whenever I'm home in Holdingford. I especially like to take the bike trail in (about 45-60 minutes for someone whose biking basically only includes coming here once a year). The trail is gorgeous on the way in and the food is superb at Jordie's...beautifully presented, super tasty, and breakfast couldn't possibly be more reasonable in price. Oh my gosh, and the pies...they look like something from a magical pie shop but I'm always too stuffed to even try a piece. I tell everyone and their mother that they need to go here. There's a little side room inside the cafe just for two that's my favorite place to sit, but the outside garden seating is stunning as well.

Our kids may not always want to go on a family bike ride on the Soo Line Trail, but when we tell them were going to Jordie's Cafe it's a no brainer! Delicious homemade desserts!

Jordie catered food for my group for a weekend retreat at Linden Hills Little Falls, Mn. The food for the entire weekend was wonderful. From the lasagne and salad on Fri nite, to the brunches on Sat. &Sun., with a special turn of the century menu planned just for our group of 20. Everything was delicious and beautiful. The service was excellent, and Jordie, herself, was a delight. I can't wait to visit her cafe, and would hire the catering service without any hesitation.

should be 6 stars - only allowed 5 If you want real Minnesota food and great ambiance with a super team staff and owner... this is where you want to go. Did I mention great value!!!? PS... I know what the listing says but this is an alcohol free establishment.
