The only time I'm ever here is when they only offer their late night menus, which is sort of a bummer. From their late night menu, I honestly don't think their food is all that great. Chicken queso dip- the chicken is so thick you can't even scoop it up with the chips. They'll break in the process. Chips, no bueno. They have a bitter after taste. Quesodilla- they have jalapeño in them? ??what the....??? Either way, it's not good. I ordered seasoned fries and they turned out to be waffle fries with a seasoned dip? ? I'm so confused, but they weren't seasoned. Edamame is make in a spicy kind of soy sauce topped with salt, this one wasn't too bad. Corn dog- taste like something you can buy at the grocery store for sure. I got chicken wings, I forgot what flavor I got, I want to say bourbon? They were very sweet. Their late night menu really isn't that impressive. Drinks are impressive though! Great selection on beers.

For "bar food"... Mm yum! Service is average, well below average at the bar (so don't order to-go if you're time sensitive) but the food is awesome!!

Our Favorite New Restaurant! So glad to have a new great restaurant in the area. Great food, lots of food choices, great tall yummy beers on draft, GREAT service and friendly staff. Me and my girlfriend have gone twice now in the last 2 weeks and it is now our new fav date night spot away from the kids to have some good food and drinks. Go support this new place so it stays around and we can all keep enjoying going there.

Clive's Roadhouse... Let's see here. I had come here on a more unusual occasion. What had happen was I was planning on going to Texas Roadhouse; however, I neglected to notice that they open at 4 p.m.. Whoops! My bad. So instead of starving for the next 2 more hours I decided why not try Clive's. They seem not that bad or any thing. So a friend and I came out here. The sign said, "Please seat yourself." So we did just as said, we sat ourselves. Now it was about 2:45, so this is prime dead time in terms of working as a server. We waited around a bit... and then a bit more... and then a bit more. Clearly the service staff did not know that we were there. But that wasn't that bad of an issue, I understand that happens from time to time. But the food.. My rating is primarily my food. I had ordered a 7 oz sirloin med- rare along with a cup of their Cream of Chicken Wild Rice. The cup came out right away; most servers can probably guess why, but I was satisfied by this soup. It was thick and creamy and was quite tasty. Now the steak came out. Of course, me a lover of mashed potatoes, dug deep into the fluffy goodness. The mashed potatoes were somewhat garlicy, which is not an issue with me; in fact I'd like more garlicy notes if possible. But the seasoned veggies were blan and actually not hot enough for me. And the steak was meh... Still done med-rare; but it had the char as if to be on a grill flame but that it was burnt. The only thing I can compare it to is the char that is on a grill after all the food is done cooking and you need to clean it. That overpowered burnt flavor pretty much ruined the whole steak for me. I even used steak sauce to try and compensate and get rid of the flavor, but was unable to make it go away. The highlight of my meal was the potatoes and the soup. My friend had ordered the Buffalo Chicken Wrap, which came with Waffle fries. He didn't eat too much of it but apparently he enjoyed it. To me it didn't look like much, but that is me. I may or may not go back to Clive's Roadhouse. I really wanted to try their pasta, but my friend did mention we were at a steak/burger house, and the chances of the pasta being good... fair to slim. Bottom Line: Don't order the sirloin unless if you can deal with the burnt flavor.

Only thing that was decent was the food. Service is terrible and booze was terribly watered down. Won't ever go back. Chicken tacos were pretty good, but the chicken avocado gyro was pretty basic and not worth writing home about. If you complain about anything--don't bother-- they won't change anything in your order without up charging you. Gross. All in all, poorly managed, poorly wait staffed, food subpar. Not worth your money.

I've drove past Clive's more times than I can count since it opened a few years ago. Last night, I didn't have the urge to cook so I decided I'd pull up Yelp and get the skinny. After reading Kara D's review figured I should probably give this place a go and called up a reinforcement to stop in with me. At 6.30 the place was hopping, but had adequate seating for the rush and we were accommodated without a wait. While a mix of bar, sports bar, restaurant, the noise level wasn't entirely too loud so I could hear my companion easily (even sitting in the bar area). It had been a couple days since I destroyed some red meat so we went with the steak bites (it was her idea even, not mine, so don't judge me too harshly). Very tender tenderloin bites that were seasoned nicely with garlic, horseradish and some olive oil. The tomato and onion topping added just enough to it as well to make it a solid little bite. I opted for the rotisserie chicken meal - half a chicken, garlic mashed taters with white/country gravy and veggies. Friend went with a bacon burger and waffle fries. My meal was fantastic. Chicken was extremely tender, pulled apart really nicely and was well seasoned throughout. Also a very big piece of chicken that actually resembled half a bird, not a tiny drummie and little boob (men do love big boobs after all). Mashed taters were decent. On the lumpy side, if you dig that, and the gravy wasn't overly salty, which is nice considering it's a very fine line when making gravy. Veggies - green beans and carrots - were steamed nicely but not overly done to be smooshy. Burger was decent by all accounts, not world beating, not bad. Waffle fries were solid, not overly salted. The only thing that was a bit off putting, in a way, and keeps it from being a 5, was we weren't done eating before getting the bill and it was almost like we were being rushed out of there. Plus, no offered refills after the bill was given - which while you're still eating - isn't the best situation in the world. Otherwise, a solid place, and I'm glad I finally got around to stopping in.

We went there a couple months back and We were seated and waited 20 mins and no one ever came to take our order even though we were only customers there. There was about 8 employees standing around talking...so eventually we just left so never got to try food

Great place, good food, reasonable prices, good service and BIG portions. This place is a fun casual place that has everything Buffalo Wild Wings or some other chain doesn't. Family friendly and usually little to no wait. Outdoor seating is nice too. The perfect place to have lunch/dinner between soccer games!

I have tried 3 different entrees and haven't been impressed with any. Their signature pork sandwich was very underwhelming. Meatloaf sandwich didn't really work either. The food is mediocre, service is OK, and it is a nice atmosphere. Like it better than all of the crappy national chain restaurants Blaine has to offer.

I've been pretty generous with the stars lately... or maybe I am just getting better at picking places! But I give 5 stars for this restaurant because it met my expectations of a "Roadhouse", and I have nothing to complain about from my visit! As far as local chains of this caliber go, this is "As good as it gets!" (Whoohoo!) Exclamation point! I came here at 6pm on Saturday night, party of 5, prime time. Though the parking lot inferred it would be crowded, we were pleased to find the inside of the restaurant was not, and we got an appropriate table right away. Our drinks came out quick, along with our chips & salsa (ordered from menu, not free). We flew through a pile of pull-tabs while we waited for our food. For large meals for 5 people, I think our food came out considerably quick. For $11, I got shrimp tacos - they came with 2 soft-shell tacos packed w shrimp, chips, salsa, guacamole, and chipotle ranch dressing. They were damn good, and it was a great value because I didn't come close to clearing my plate. I was also jealous of my bf's prime rib dinner. I love when a slab of meat comes with meat juice. Haha, that probably just ruined it for you. We stuck around for a few more drinks. We were there for maybe an hour and a half, and the service was quick but not rushed. Best yet, it's easy to get to, off of 65/Central. (It also happens to be in the same plaza where I go to heat yoga... I might have to make a combo of sweating out the slabs of beef there after...)

We like going there because it's close. The food isn't bad, but again it's over priced. The salad dressings seem watered down. Good selection of burgers and the fries are great. Family of 4 your looking at $50-60 for dinner We would goo more often if it weren't overpriced.

Decided to check this restaurant out since we've never been there before. Me and my twin sister went together, and we had a great time. We loved the atmosphere and the food. We will be back again!

I told you I'd be back to give this place a second chance. Of course then it was a short-lived Irish pub that I review elsewhere Well, Clive's is a different beast. Its a decent sports bar not far from the big soccer complexes in Blaine (the Velodrome is across the street). The fare is what you'd expect apps, burgers, sandwiches, and entrees like chops, fish and chips etc. The beer list is limited , but did include Surly Furious and Guinness. I had a roast beef sandwich which was quite tasty. It could have been bigger but at $9 with waffle fries on the side, it wasn't bad. I would like to see a king size option for maybe $12 or so. My wife's walleye was tasty too. She went for the tater tots. We saved room for dessert which was cheesecake with strawberry and mango slices. Nice tasting. Washed down with a tasty Surly Furious it made from some nice peaceful patio dining. Our server was friendly and attentive during our visit. So overall I would say that Irish Pub is vastly improved :)

I LOVE ROADHOUSES !!! AND ROADTRIPS.... Or anyplace with the word "roadhouse" in it. My first time here, and I thought it was quite artfully decorated. Nicely done. A goodly number of tvs for the sports enthusiast. Nice and spacious. The menu is Nice. The layout is Nice. The servers were Nice. The hostesses were Nice. Our meals were Nice. I'll bet Clive is Nice too. There is a turkey burger on the menu, yum yum. It was a standard frozen preformed burger, but the addition of juicy guacamole really made it NICE. Seriously. Other than the fact that the bun was cold and the burger and tater tots ( yes I had tater tots) were luke warm, I liked it. According to the menu the beef burgers were never frozen, I will be back to try them. Hand pattied too I hope. Food= Good and Nice. And fast too. Staff was VERY young, a little inexperienced but upbeat and positive. I can see why the guy reviewers liked the service! All the girls were darling and attentive. Not 1 single gal looked like she had been ridden hard and put away wet. Unusual for a sports bar. Really cute staff. The place was pretty clean, except for the ladies room. In dire need of a deep cleaning. But...lo and behold....the ladies room has hooks to hang your purse on while you wash your hands...BOOM, no soggy purse.!! NICE N I C E DID I MENTION IT WAS N I C E HERE ??

The first time we tried this place we weren't impressed with the food. I had a Cajun dish and there wasn't any flavor to it. We gave it another chance though and the second time was much better. I would not get a Cajun dish there but everything else has been good.

Definitely worth the drive. My manager at work knows one of the people working here. Manager decided to take us all out for lunch as a reward. And rewarding it was! Grilled Meatloaf was very tasty. Also, folks in my group had the stuffed grilled meatloaf, jambalaya and chicken fried chicken. All were delicious. Definitely have to drag some friends and family out for food here.

I have been to Clives twice now. Read the yelp reviews and decided to give it a chance knowing it could be bad but to my surprise, the first visit was perfect. We were seated right away, out server came to our table quickly, was nice, the food was hot and tasty. A decent dining experience. The second time how ever, was really bad in my opinion. It was lunch and the sign said please seat yourself, so that's what we did. We sat near the back, but still very visable to all staff. We even saw that some of the staff saw we were there, but nobody came to our table. We sat there for a few more minutes feeling a little irritated that nobody wanted to come to us so we decided to leave. As we were leaving, a male server, in a very rude tone with a smirk said to us as we're leaving "you guys alright? " I said yeah, thanks for acknowledging us. Not really too happy with that. There food is alright but after that, we won't be back.

Will not grace this place with another cent of my money or a minute of my time. I place no fault on out server Haley(sp) who was pleasant and attentive. (Although inexperienced) The fault lay mainly at the watery martini ordered dirty but came without a hint of olive juice, the flat and sour draft Guiness beer and the rudeness of the support staff. Oh did I mention the entirely bland BBQ ribs? Not one hint of smoke, spice or flavor. The culmination of the experience was when I was using my vaporizer at the table and was told by the food runner, quote; "you better not let my manager see you using that!" Chiding me as if I was a misbehaving child. I really wanted to respond with "or what?" Instead I asked for the manager. Unfortunately, the manager did not introduce himself, nor did I ask. But he immediately attempted to stare me down and attempt to act intimidating. I related to him the level of rudeness of his food runner regarding the vaporizer. His response was they don't allow smoking. I told him it was not against any state or local ordinance and asked him where the restaurant had posted the do not allow vaping or ecigs. He became even more aggressive and replied that they didn't have to post it, he would take my issues with the bad drinks and bland food up with the staff and told me to have a good day and walked away. Hey Clive's, the restaurant business is based on hospitality, try showing some!

The only reason I give it two stars is for the amazing bar service and our waitress. My food came out ice cold along with my boyfriend's steak was rare when he ordered medium. The tacos, by the way, did not come with sour cream, and if you want some, fork over $.75. After I received the sour cream and added it to my tacos, our waitress came over to explain we would be charged for the sour cream. We then explained our meals were not warm/what we ordered (we ate them because one, we are stereotypical Minnesotans who are polite, and the flavor was there, just cold) and our waitress talked to the manager. I don't want to be mean, but talk about spineless. He kept asking us what he can do for us instead of stepping up and taking care of us. We didn't want to decide what he should do for us because we don't know what he can do and again stereotypical Minnesotans. A manager needs to show leadership and didn't bat an eye when we said we would just pay for our meal and wouldn't be back. John Taffer would be very disappointed in the management. Oh and we were still charged for the sour cream even though we said it would have been something the manager could "do for us."

Great experience last night! Tasty walleye that was a more than ample serving and cooked to perfection. Our group of 6 was served quickly. I look forward to going back the next time we are in the area.

A roadhouse with comfort food. There's something on the menu for everyone. Porkchops, prime rib and hot roast beef sandwich were all great. I was disappointed to not find a single photo of Patrick Swayze though. I'll be visiting again soon.

Great food. Good variety. Fun atmosphere. The service could be better. Spent the night feeling "forgotten". One of the dishes was dropped and had to be re-cooked. Wait was even longer. Maybe they had an "off" night.

I came here because it was right next to the hotel I was staying at. I arrived at 10:30 PM and all they had for food was a "late night menu" consisting of a few burgers, a few sandwiches and some starters. The server was very friendly and suggested a sandwich called the 'Three Little Pigs.' I took her recommendation and was blown away at how delicious it was! I will definitely be coming back next time I'm in town!

Went to the restaurant again last night and had the same server as last time, Luke. He was training another server named Brian. Once again the service was fast and excellent. We enjoyed ourselves and will go back again.

Yet another restaurant in this spot. I hope this one makes it. We went to Clive's late on a Thursday night. I was a little wary of the place, as I had to walk through a cloud of cigarette smoke to get to the front door. The place is large and rather noisy. The menu had lots of items for carnivores and lovers of fried food. Our burgers were tasty and done properly. Services was prompt. It was all decent, but nothing to write home about.

Have seen multiple restaurants ot this sit in the last few years. These guys might do well. My wife and I went on a Saturday, just before noon. We were seated immediately, and our server was right there, and she was on top of things. We started with a cup of the black and white bean chicken chili. Very tasty! We also had the steak bites. These both came promptly, and the bites were done perfectly. I do have add that the quality of the meat was very good, not a single chunk of gristle as we have encountered at several other establishments with a similar appetizer. My wife went with the hot roast beef sandwich (one of her favorites, so she has a large number of places to compare to) I ordered the grilled meatloaf. Both had excellent potatos and gravy. ...The roast beef was nice and tender, and again, no hint of gristle. My meatloaf was moist, yet very tender and had an excellent crust from the grilling. The veggies were done just right, still a bit crunchy ans seasoned with a deft hand. Overall, we were quite pleased and will be back.
