Villa Calma

Reviews:
Villa Calms is the place to stay in Bemidji. It is a very well run B&B where you can relax and feel very much at home. Everything is very clean, the beds are great (I often don't like beds that are not mine) and the breakfasts were delicious and creative. The location is also nice. The lake is right across a quiet street and Bemidji State and town are a minute away. The owners are fantastic and accommodating. I would much rather stay here than the nearby chain hotels.

I rarely write reviews, but the food and staff was so good I feel compelled to share. Great atmosphere and the food was amazing. The quality of their ingredients really shines in the final product. You could also tell the staff cares just as much for their guests as they do for their food. Well done!
Have been here in the past on busyness trips for caffeine boosts. Today I am relaxing and playing with Aaliyah cuz it's raining in the North Land
We had a very nice lunch here. We were lucky and ate outside during a parade. The bakery looked really good and the staff was friendly. I would go back.

This place has a very diverse menu with great food options. We ordered mozzarella sticks -awesome- and the tony burger and the bison burger all really good great beer selection and great service
Best cheese curds in the state, they rival the state fair and you don't have to wait in line for an hour! Great food good service in a warm and cosy location. The only downfall is the lack of space to sit. I highly recommend anyone in the Bemidji area go check out Bar 209.
My husband and I were very happy with the food and friendly service at Bar 209. The walleye sandwich was awesome. The onion rings were the best. And the margaritas were excellent too. very clean old building, and the wait staff was very helpful and attentive . We will defiantly go back when in Bemidji.

Can you please pour the hot espresso over the cold milk and ice (not directly on the ice) for my iced latte? like watching the younger version of myself, same mistakes made. She just didn't know. Thanks for you trying your hardest big apple bagel. You improve with every visit.
This is a pretty good snack shop. Filled with bagels, muffins and more! The staff is friendly and helpful. However the menu isn't huge and is a little highly priced, but other than that this is a great place to grab a bite!
I was glad that I tried this place! The Deep Dish Apple Pie Muffin was great! The Southern Tradition breakfast item was very good! Being from the East Coast where we have multiple choices for bagel sandwiches, I did not find the prices that much different! I will return when I am back in the Bemidji area!

Minnesota Nice Cafe

Reviews:
Visiting Bemidji to see the famed Paul Bunyan statue, I heard about the Minnesota Nice Cafe. I was unsure how to find it but lucky for me, Bemidji isn't that huge so I found this ordinary looking restaurant. Inside, the decor is nicer. Local artwork, such as paintings of wildlife and landscapes, are on display. But how does the food stack up? It stacks up excellently! The selection is varied, even boasting gluten-free offering and iced coffee! I went with the country fried steak which was topped with country gravy and came with eggs, potatoes (I chose hash browns) and toast (wheat). The food was on a small plate, but was more than sufficient for me. Don't pass this place up. Anyone visiting Bemidji needs to eat here!
Oh, breakfast doesn't get much better than the MN Nice Cafe! Come with an empty stomach and be prepared to leave with it full, because you're gonna want to eat everything on your plate. We had a stop over in Bemidji on our way home from a road trip weekend and began tootling around the downtown district when we happened upon the cafe that night. I noticed that it had gotten great reviews from other Yelpers and we decided to head their the next morning. What a homecookin' treat that was! Between the two of us, we had pancakes, sausage, eggs, hash browns, and biscuits and gravy! We tried but couldn't quite eat all of it, but we did give a valiant effort. The eggs were flavorful (which you don't always get at a restaurant unless they're organic or cage-free), pancakes were fluffy, sausage had just the right amount of spices, hash browns were cooked to the perfect blend of crunchy and softness, and the biscuits and graver were out of this world! Moist biscuits and a great gravy that was spicier and had more flavor than you usually get with the dish (almost tasted like they added red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper to it...whatever they did, it works)! The service was great too. It was just nearing the end of the busy morning rush, but still there were many tables of customers and we were never left waiting for an extended amount of time for anything! Impressive! You have to stop here for a satisfying meal. They do have lunch options, but let's be serious...with these breakfast options, why try anything else!
Walleye Chunks Basket - This is delicious! The fries are cooked just right with good seasoning. The only drawback was that I found a few bones in the fish chunks, you just need to be extra careful when eating this tasty, regional treat. The bones wouldn't deter me from ordering again, it was that good.

Wild Hare Bistro

523 Minnesota Ave NW
Bemidji, 56601
Reviews:
I get breakfast here everyday, except Sunday. The closed Sundays are the reason for four instead of five stars. This place really is fabulous. Local from scratch kitchen. And the coffee, let's just say I long for them all day Sunday. I love the fact they also really support local art with monthly changing exhibitions.
I was never impressed with Wild Hare, it's really fairly ordinary. I was never motivated to write a bad review...until one of the more ridiculous serving experiences ever came along. To the replay: Weekend brunch. Restaurant fairly full. Seated at table. Drink orders promptly taken with menus given. Drinks are delivered after a few minutes. "We're ready to order now, too." "Oh, actually the kitchen told me a while back not to take any more orders for another ten minutes or so." o_O So being seated is fine, bringing drinks is okay, but taking a food order can't happen? And it didn't occur to you to say so until drinks were delivered. Pathetic.
I USED TO think that the wild hare was a great restaurant. Until now, everything just seems to be bland. Nothing special nothing bad just bland. The food is good but it is just not as good as it used to be! I do not know what has changed but it's just not the same. The Cabin is way better!

Sparkling Waters

Reviews:
Wonderful. Atmosphere, staff, and cuisine. We are a family of eight and were treated as if we belonged there. Thanks to all and we'll see you next time we're in town. Bemidji has needed a high Quality restaurant.
Sparkling Waters is a refreshing addition to the Bemidji area. It is classier than anything you normally find in the area. I love a good ambiance, and this place has impressed me. The first time I came was for early evening appetizers, drinks, and dessert for a family birthday celebration. Between the four of us we tried all (about 10) the appetizers on the menu and were stuffed. Everything was very good, and everyone has their favorites. The martinis were delicious also, and we had fun trying a variety of new drinks. The service was exceptional, partly because for most of our two and a half hour visit we were the only people there. The owner was very personable and spent a lot of time visiting with us. The bartender and wait staff were fabulous also. I have only eaten at Sparkling Waters since them once for lunch with great service, tasty food, and very nice setting. I'd be there more if I were able to pay a little more for a fine dining experience.
I went here when they first opened. I remember I got a cedar wrapped sea bass and it was actually pretty good. The portion size was smaller which leads to 4/5.
