Best pizza in Austin! Tried a mama Mia and a pep, mushroom, green olive and I can't say enough at how fantastic they were. Costs run about $20 for a large pie but it's well worth it. I'll be back the next time I'm in Austin.

When friends come to visit Austin, I almost always bring them to Steve's for dinner or late-night dining. It's inevitable that, months later, I always hear the question, "Hey, what was the name of that great pizza place in Austin?" Steve's is clearly memorable, for it's bright, upbeat atmosphere and of course, those tasty pies. Previous reviewers have mentioned the Mama Mia (get it thick-crust, you'll thank me!), but they also offer SPAM as a topping, which is always great if you're giving your friends the "true" tour of Austin. But I think it's important to let everyone know how delicious the Greek Chicken pizza is (thin-crust is the way to go) and do not overlook the pasta options or their absolutely delicious gyros. Steve's is also the only legitimate "late-night" eatery in Austin. So after a night at the bar, this is the place to get tasty grub. Downtown Austin is lucky to have them!

Pizza was amazing like every time. The garlic cheese bread too. The 50 minute wait was not so great. But expected, I guess with a group of 27. They brought all of our pizza out at the same time. Kudos to our ONE waiter. She worked her butt off.

The cheeseburger pizza is the best! Staff is always accommodating and food is always amazing. Best pizza place in town.

This place was great. A highlight of our visit to Austin. And it almost didn't happen, because we were dicks and came in and then left right after to go someplace else. That was a poor idea. I'm glad we came back. Great pizza, and everyone (especially the owner, Tracy, and our waitress Kayla) were sooooo nice.

Here I am chillin' in a booth 50 minutes after sitting down. We ordered immediately after arriving... and haven't heard from our server since she threw our appetizer down and stormed off. The restaurant has cleared out and I can't help but wonder why I don't have a pizza in front of me, considering the 7 burn outs dicking around in the kitchen. As for atmosphere, the owner/manager lady is harshly bitching out the new kid (who is the only one who HAS checked on us) directly behind me, and has been chewing him out all over the restaurant all night... uncomfortable! Unprofessional! Forget it, Steve's... my business is headed to George's.

I used to really like Steve's but tonight I had a delivery to my home. They sent me out the grossest brownest lettuce i have ever seen. I mean nasty. Then the Greek wings (which everyone has raved about) were burned and totally disgusting. Next on to the Chicken Parmesan, No flavor in the sauce to much breading on the chicken (last time it came grilled, which i thought I was getting ) and super watery. Again gross. The only thing that was good was my sons hot ham and cheese sandwich (hard to mess that one up) overall yet again i am far from impressed with Steve's Pizza

Great thin-crust pizza and very friendly staff. Kim B is awesome and has memorized my order. Get the Bacon Cheeseburger or the Mama Mia pizza. They also have lasagna and pasta items. Kids will enjoy the game room upstairs, but it can get VERY loud in there when it it is full. Place can get packed on the weekends so plan carefully. They are down the street from the Paramount so enjoy a show then walk down for pizza!

I travel weekly all over the country for work. My wife's family is from this area and I have to say they have some of the best pizza I have ever had. Better than a deep dish in Chicago, and better than Pizza Margarita in Venice Italy. Absolutely love it!

My oldest and dearest restaurant, before and after the move. Pizza is delicious. From their most popular pizza, (the 'Mama Mia' and I add mushrooms) to any you may create yourself, you will be reminded why such locally owned pizza places are superior to any franchise, and they deliver! There square cut pizza isn't the only wonderful thing about this Austin icon; their inexpensive, there is a game room, they offer beer, wine, coke products, and coffee, and they offer pasta, chicken, fish, and other delicious options.

Pretty solid pizza stick to that the pasta is not great severely under cooked but the pizza is worth a trip.

Well, I can't comment on the establishment because I had my Pizza delivered to a Holiday Inn. They delivered it hot, it arrived crispy (usually delivered pizza's get soggy) Not Steves...I got a nice crispy thin crust House special and added green olives. I am in love with this pizza.

Okay pizza. Their "thick crust" is just their regular thin crust with an edge. Not impressed. I like sausage pizza, but one huge chunk of sausage per square slice doesn't count as sausage pizza. I keep going back thinking that if I try enough of them that I'll find the right one, but every time I end up disappointed. Their cheesy bread is pretty good. And delivery options until 2am is a huge plus when starving on the night shift--I can bear the pizza when I've got nothing else.

I am 8 months pregnant and I live in California. My entire pregnancy I have been craving Angie's Special pizza which is a delicious pizza with mushrooms, pepperoni and yes, the meatiest spaghetti sauce on a thin crust. Luckily we made the trip out this week and I was able to get my fill! Other family favorites include the Mama Mia, my husband's favorite. I highly recommend it as the best pizza coast to coast!!!!!!!

Best pizza in Austin, hands down, with the Mama Mia being my particular favorite on he menu. You'll definitely pay for the experience: it's not cheap to eat here for a family of 4, but its well worth it. Since it moved from it' previous location it seems to have lost a bit of charm, but the pizza and other items never disappoint. Also try the Greek Wings.

Steve's is a local pizza place that is extremely popular with the locals as well as visitors. It has an upbeat atmosphere wtih fairly good service (on one ocassion the service was horrible but otherwise it's been good). The pizza is really good and for me it's the second best place in town. My recommendation would be the 'Mama Mia' on thick crust! It's GREAT!

Best local pizza joint. Great area for kids to play upstairs. Angie is one of the owners and this place has true home town friendliness. They get very busy on Weekend nights, but it's worth the wait. We like the Mama Mia with mushrooms added.

The best pizza in Austin and because it is in Austin, you know the pork is very fresh.

If you are driving on Interstate 90 and reading this, pull off the exit and eat here I live in NYC and have eaten lots of slices. I've been to Chicago countless times and tried lots of pies. I lived in Brazil for many years and tried every style of pizza imaginable (little known fact: São Paulo has the best pizza on Earth, look it up). Well, I can tell you that Steve's has some if the best pizza I've ever had. Steve's Pizza is a gem. A huge win. Austinites don't realize what they've got there. I know I sure took their quality, taste, service, and family atmosphere for granted while I was growing up in Austin. If I had to make a change it would be to give the current location the hole-in-the-wall, blue-collar, post-little-league-baseball-game-reward feeling that it had before they had to relocate due to construction of a new municipal jail. But don't let that deter you. This pizza is the real thing and only amazing people could ever make that happen.

Great Pizza, lived in MN 20 years ago and Steve's is still the best. Momma Mia, pepperoni, sausage@ cheese is the bomb!

It is hard to beat a "Momma Mia', it is my favorite in the joint. Sometimes I will add pepperoncini peppers to it and that is great. If you love cheese, it is the pizza to try.

Good selection of food and specialty pizzas. Atmosphere nice, clean, and friendly. Only issue was lunch service was slow for ordering a small cheese pizza and two salads.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
