Wow! Absolutely delicious sandwiches and salads and quality coffee. And it's cheap, too! It's a super cozy dining room in an 1858 brick house near downtown.... it's easy to drive right past it, but don't! We just wish they were open longer hours. Their hours are 10-4 Tuesdays through Fridays.

I love Papa Murphy's Take and Bake pizzas. Their Chicken Herb Mediterranean delight is...well, a delight! Their Classic Italian pizza is also delicious. If you love black olives, then you will love the Cowboy pizza. Be sure to use your booster bucks!

An exciting and unique new restaurant and bar where seafood (not "Americanized" burritos) are the heart of the menu. Their fish and shrimp dishes are delicious - I am an especially big fan of the Pescado a la Veracruzana and the shrimp tacos. If you're a meat-and-potatoes kind of guy who's looking for something more "traditional" - look no further than their Tabla de Chuleta ... this is more or less a pork fajita but better than any other joint around. Be sure to order their fresh guac with your complimentary chips (they make it fresh every day and it's wonderful) and don't be afraid to let your server make a recommendation for a speciality cocktail. Finally, just enjoy the atmosphere and decor of the place. It's unique and classy but very casual. Don't miss it!
This place is great. I've only been here a few times but have to say that the fish tacos are insanely good for the Midwest. Best place to eat in Austin.
Excellent find! Amazing armosphere and great food! Cool and fun for grown ups, and my kids loved it as well!

Kenny’s Oak Grill

An amazing local place that offers great food and good service! They offer breakfast all day and have good homemade specials each day of the week. The food is reasonably priced and has decent portions. It is a smaller place so seating is somewhat limited so there might be a wait during busy meal times (specifically Sunday post-church time). Their parking situation is less than desirable but is tolerable. The food I recommend the most would be the 'Cluckers' with hashbrowns and cheese. They are AMAZING! ENJOY!
Kennys is a true mainstay in Austin. The food is great and the service is awesome. You won't find a better bowl of soup anywhere! My favorite sandwich is the McMushroom. I travel All over the country and am always looking for hashbrowns that are better than kenny's...I haven't found anything even close. A must to visit whenever I'm in Austin!
One of the best diners I have been to. Their hash browns, Belgian waffles with fruit, and hot chocolate are awesome.

I recently moved to Austin and quickly discovered this local gem. This is a real sandwich shop that prepares your meal with pride and detail, and serves it up in butcher paper and masking tape. Careful when you open the paper, there is a small handful of Gardetto's snack mix as a garnish. This place is also CHEAP. The sandwiches and subs are all $5 or less as far as I can tell. Traditional staples like deli roast beef and turkey, as well as outstanding egg salad. Everyone says their caramel bars are to-die-for but I found that I actually prefer the O'Henry Bar. And don't even get me started on the Carrot Cake... HEAVENLY! They are only open from 11-3 weekdays and Saturdays so plan accordingly. The line moves SLOWLY and many people call in their order so be prepared to wait during the lunch rush... Or call ahead yourself and have the sandwich ready when you arrive. Bonus: outdoor seating! Drawback: no credit or debit cards accepted, but they do take personal checks!
Not the fanciest place you'll go. But your kids will eat a great meal on REALLY good, homemade bread. CASH ONLY which is a tiny bit of a hold up but don't let it stop you. On a hot, Minnesota day? This place is a WONDERFUL option!!
Great local sandwich shop! Went today for the first time and got the grinder. Was a little concerned because I'm a turkey on wheat girl and I don't step outside that box often, but I'm glad I did. The sandwich was flavorful but not spicy. Also had a dessert bar which was amazing! Just under 16.00 for two people.

Perfect as always really great burgers
Enjoyed a tasty Spam burger and Oreo concrete mixer after building up my appetite at the nearby Spam Museum. The burger was flavorful and very good. The fries were okay, I've never been impressed by Culver's fries. Good meal all and all.
So you just visited the SPAM Museum in town, and now you're craving that canned meat. Come to this Culver's. We were told by the woman at the museum's front desk that this is the only Culver's that offers SPAM burgers/sandwiches. They're not advertised, so you have to ask for them. They offer a SPAMburger (cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onions, and pickle), SPAM BLT, SPAM and Swiss, and SPAM Melt. We got the classic SPAMburger, and it hit the spot!

Reviews:
I'm a local, and this is the best dinning in town. The best prime rib around, and I eat a lot if prime rib.
This is a family favorite for celebrations. My wife and I ate there in July with my parents (to celebrate my retirement). It definitely met expectations. I had prime rib which I ordered medium rare. The piece I was served was probably a little more done than medium rare, but still tender, juicy, delicious ... and huge. I didn't need that much beef. But what the heck, I was celebrating. My wife and my mom had shrimp scampi, and it was excellent. My dad had walleye, also excellent. (If I hadn't ordered beef, I would have gotten the walleye. Your entrée comes with soup or house salad and choice of potato, wild rice, or vegetable. The service is casual and friendly. The view is terrific; if you can get a window seat as we did, so much the better.
This is the classiest place to eat in Austin. Those passing through or visiting from a large city might not qualify this as five stars (to those who frequent upscale establishments, this place is probably just "average") but for "SPAMtown," this is pretty impressive. Dress nicely and enjoy a whole evening at the Old Mill... I loved the fact that you're not rushed... they really do understand the whole concept of fine dining, at least in terms of time frame... you'll want to plan to be here at least 90 minutes, maybe more. First off, the location - just a little bit out of the way - is quaint and beautiful (when you make reservations, request a table with a view of the river). There are a couple intimate dining rooms and a charming little bar with some really excellent imports on tap (and always changing). Nice selection of wines, as well. Regarding the regular menu, this is more of a steakhouse... their claim to fame is prime rib and it might be the best prime rib I've had in my entire life. Amazing. My dining companion on a recent night was also able to find an amazing gluten-free entree. One drawback (alluded to in a previous review) is that many of the appetizers, and even some of the entrees, are deep fried. A place as charming and classy as this could definitely do without the fried foods we find everywhere else. But I quickly forgot about this when they brought out the dessert tray (why don't more places utilize a dessert tray anymore!?) ... all of the desserts are homemade (and delicious) and you can enjoy them with a wide variety of cocktails or fancy coffees. This is as fancy as it gets in Austin. And while it may not be as classy as a joint in Manhattan, it's pretty reliably solid, and deserving of five stars for this region. Reservations are suggested, especially on weekends or if you want a view of the river.

Steve’s Pizza

421 N Main St
Austin, 55912
Reviews:
Best pizza in Austin! Tried a mama Mia and a pep, mushroom, green olive and I can't say enough at how fantastic they were. Costs run about $20 for a large pie but it's well worth it. I'll be back the next time I'm in Austin.
When friends come to visit Austin, I almost always bring them to Steve's for dinner or late-night dining. It's inevitable that, months later, I always hear the question, "Hey, what was the name of that great pizza place in Austin?" Steve's is clearly memorable, for it's bright, upbeat atmosphere and of course, those tasty pies. Previous reviewers have mentioned the Mama Mia (get it thick-crust, you'll thank me!), but they also offer SPAM as a topping, which is always great if you're giving your friends the "true" tour of Austin. But I think it's important to let everyone know how delicious the Greek Chicken pizza is (thin-crust is the way to go) and do not overlook the pasta options or their absolutely delicious gyros. Steve's is also the only legitimate "late-night" eatery in Austin. So after a night at the bar, this is the place to get tasty grub. Downtown Austin is lucky to have them!
Pizza was amazing like every time. The garlic cheese bread too. The 50 minute wait was not so great. But expected, I guess with a group of 27. They brought all of our pizza out at the same time. Kudos to our ONE waiter. She worked her butt off.
