Very Disappointed. Wrong flavor and dry cake. I ordered a very simple birthday cake for myself about two weeks in advance with a phone order. Many of our friends have ordered cakes here before and have had great cakes. The person who took my order repeated it twice on the phone with the pickup date and time. The cake was ready when I went to get it, but after telling my guests the kind of cake and the bakery I used, we were all disappointed when the cake filling was the wrong flavor the the cakes itself was very dry. This was a simple order, so I'm not sure if it was lower on the priority list for the bakery, but it was a very disappointing experience.

This bake shop is wonderful!!! My sister ordered my son's first birthday cake here. It was adorable and very moist. We also ordered a baby shower cake which turned out great! We got so many complements on how the cakes looked and tasted. We showed the owner a picture of something we liked on pintrist, and she made her own version of it. Both times the cakes were beautiful! They are very reasonably priced too. I'll definitely be back. (I posted pictures - so cute!)

I purchased a white chocolate mousse cake from here for my sister's baby shower. The cake not only looked amazing but tasted outstanding too. I had several people ask where the cake was from. Lu had emailed a picture of what I was looking for to the owner and with her suggestions she came up with exactly what I was looking for.

Tried them for the first time this week for some special event cakes & was so happy. Both cakes were beautiful, exactly what I asked for, and really delicious! So many party guests were raving about the cakes.

Both times I have purchased cupcakes they have tasted dry and stale. I really wanted to give this local establishment a higher rating but I just can't.

I've been driving by this place for the past 4 months and finally decided to stop in for a treat after lunch. I noticed that there were two people in the back when I walked in and stood at the counter for a while, waiting patiently, wondering why no one would come out to greet the one customer in their shop. Finally someone came out to help me and it took another five minutes to be rung up for one cupcake. I asked for coffee, and yes, they had a freshly brewed pot, but it was not for customers -- even though it was sitting on the counter behind the cupcake case (?). The cupcake I had was o.k; their version of Death By Chocolate is not the same as mine. I was expecting chocolate overload. Frosting was good, but cake was so-so. The thing that REALLY irked me was the fact that absolutely no one thanked me for my purchase. There were two people behind the counter helping me (one was in training). You'd think that at least one of them would've said "thanks", but no. They didn't even hand me the box, it was just set up high on the display case and I had to reach for it. If the service wasn't so lousy I might be tempted to stop in again, especially since their prices are so reasonable ($1.75 for a fancy cupcake is cheap compared to other cupcake places). Too bad, because I like to support local/regional businesses. Next time I want a treat I will go over to the Coffee Beanery where I can get myself a much better cupcake AND a coffee in the same place...and feel like a valued customer!

Rhonda is Amazing !! I used Buttercream Bakery for my bridal shower. Almost every single woman there made a comment about how delicious and beautiful the mini desserts were. It s unusual to find a bakery where the pastries are not only pretty to look at, but yummy as well. This is the place !!

Best bakery! I had ordered some chocolate raspberry cupcakes with buttercream frosting for a party, and all guests were impressed! They were delicious! Cute little bake shop in the heart of Wixom.

Flavor- Delicious. They really do not skimp on the buttercream. Presentation- it was ok, a cute cake, but it was kind of blobby/melty looking. Price- This is where I run into a problem and I probably won't be ordering a cake from here again. A SIX (6) inch white cake/vanilla buttercream was...$25! I was hoping the cake would be so darn amazing that it wouldn't matter, but for me, it really wasn't worth the price.

Buttercream Bakeshop is the BEST bakery in the greater Detroit area in my opinion! They created a beautiful cake for my Mother-in-law's retirement party that was far beyond anything I could of dreamed of. We also has them create a whimsical cake for my daughter's 3rd birthday party based on the invitations. It was PERFECT. They are so professional and nice. You really can not go wrong with this bakery!!

After a long, hard workout, I decided I wanted a cupcake. (Go figure). I've driven by the Buttercream Bakeshop a few times, so I decided to give it a try. The shop has a really cute storefront in downtown Wixom (which is currently growing and being developed, kind of nice actually). Upon entering, I was a bit surprised by the lack of decor. White walls with a few pictures of decorated cakes. Not a problem, since what really matters is the service and taste of the cupcake. The girl at the counter was very nice, no qualms there. I ordered a jumbo vanilla cupcake at a very attractive price ($2.25) which is a cupcake price unheard of these days in the age of the three dollar cupcake. I excitedly hopped into the car and made my way home to eat my cupcake. While driving, I sampled a bit of the frosting and was a bit put off. It was very, very sugary and tasted like it had been refrigerated. However, it grew on me as I cleaned off the top of the cupcake. Once I got home, I finally tasted the cake part of the cupcake. To be honest, I wasn't too impressed. It was pretty dry, more like a muffin than a light fluffy cupcake. Altogether it tasted like the average supermarket cupcake I could purchase for 50 cents each. HOWEVER! I would be willing to try this place again. They had a variety of flavors and it's very possible that my one dry cupcake was a fluke and that their cupcakes are normally out of this world.

I was referred to Marsha by my husbands Aunt. The cake we had for his 50th over the hill party was delicious and looked great! My new husband and I automatically decided to check into Buttercream Bake Shop for our wedding on 9/19. Marsha helped make our vision come true, has all cakes delivered on time, they looked even more beautiful then we expected and EVERYONE raved about how tasty they were. I've been to the Mexican restaurant next to this bakery a couple of times, and a friend and I decided to go in and buy some cup cakes for dessert. The cupcakes were tasty, but expensive for what we got. None of them had any fillings, which I thought they should have. I wouldn't go back in a hurry, but I wouldn't be opposed to buying from there again.
