At first glance it is a cute little diner, after you sit down you start to notice how dirty the soup warmers and the floors are. Broken cabinet doors at the waitress stand. As for the food.... I thought it was wierd that my wife and daughters food came out 5 minutes before my son's and mine. The chili dogs came out cold and the cheese was not even melted (maybe thats just the way I do them). My burger bun was BURNT on the bottom and at first i thought it was no big deal but then I thought to myself that these buns were toasted on the grill, So the cooks had definitely ignored the fact that it was inedible. Prices were not bad for the amount of food you got.

I loved this little place! Some of the reviews were really bad, but I took a chance anyway and was so happy that I did! My service was excellent, my food was a party in my mouth and the restaurant was very clean (yes, the bathroom, too). I had the stuffed hashbrowns with homemade rye toast. It was enough food for three meals for me, so I'm having some more this morning at home. The homemade bread was so delicious that I bought a loaf (a real bargain at $3.00) to bring home. It is December, so not high tourist season. I was on a little pre-holiday getaway so I imagine most of the diners were locals. I liked that. It felt homey and welcoming.

Place is dirty. Bathrooms are gross! Breakfast was excellent and waitress was super nice and efficient. Coffee was strong and flavorful. Tabasco sauce was on the table. I had the stuffed hash browns. They were perfect!

This is a great local place. Lots of local regulars which always means it's good. The decor is in a diving theme. We had breakfast both times. First time I had an omelet and it was cooked just right. The hash browns are cooked to just the right amount of crispy. Somebody with me got the stuffed hash browns. They reported they were excellent. They have a small bakery area as well with lots of goodies. If only I could eat one of the donuts I'm sure they'd be good. Thankfully they did have a couple of gluten free baked goods. The berry cake was very good, but the coarse sugar on top didn't like the humidity after I bought it so the top got a little mushy. Second time I got the yogurt and fruit bar. The vanilla yogurt was great with lots of different kinds of fruit. Oatmeal on the bar as well which they said was gluten free. I had some without any side effects. I've recommended this to several others heading to the area. I'd encourage anyone reading this to try it!

Don't go here if you're hungry or in a hurry. If you think you'll be hungry in an hour, go get a table and enjoy some coffee while the cooks figure out how to prepare what you ordered fifteen minutes after you got here and asked for menus because no one came to your table to serve you after ten minutes. The only redemptive quality was the food. I was so close to leaving a few bucks for the coffee and going to get some crappy fast food when the waitress came to the table and said our table's food was next. I'm glad it didn't come to that because the cinnamon swirl French toast was good, although barely warm, and the omelette and rye toast was wonderful. If I were a waitress, I would not want to work here. The owners need to figure out how a proper breakfast kitchen is run.

A friend and I stopped here on our way downstate and it was a great choice! We each had an omelette with homemade cinnamon raisin swirl bread. The homemade bread is worth every penny. Our omelette's were perfect, not to thick, not over cheesed, just right. For all you meat lovers out there, "the corned beef hash and sausage were absolutely excellent". Excellent prices and service! Thank you!

I feel as if some of the reviews for the Dive are somewhat unfair, and felt compelled to post our experience there today. We had a party of 10 people, and were promptly seated with some maneuvering of tables and chairs. The waitress was very friendly, attentive, and accommodating to our large party. Some of the past reviews claimed the food to be greasy and unhealthy. I found there to be a variety of healthy options, including an oatmeal, yogurt, and fruit bar (all you can eat). The homemade bread was great. One of our orders got messed up, and our friendly waitress had the kitchen fix the order ASAP. She kept our coffee cups filled throughout the entire meal. The prices were reasonable.

I had some time to kill in Whitehall and this was one of two restaurants open. It took me a minute to realize the theme of this restaurant was diving. The Dive lived up to small town diner standards. All the tables were locals chatting with each other, food was overly greasy and my coffee was always full. The baked goods in the display looked amazing and the talk in my section was how great the cinnamon rolls tasted. I ordered hash browns mixed with bacon, mushrooms and tomatoes. The over buttered hash browns and lack of ingredients was a little disappointing, but it cured my hangover. Not sure I'll ever be back in Whitehall, but I do recommend the dive for a good greasy breakfast.

Pretty good for what it tries to be. A nice spot for breakfast or lunch. Homemade bread. Coffee not the best quality but made strong enough. They can cook eggs proper and everyone was satisfied.

Absolutely incredible! BEST omelet I have ever eaten (the Dive Omelet). And I have had my share of omelets. All homemade bread, sliced and perfectly toasted. Cinnamon rolls to die for. Highly recommended. Daughter ordered the daily special "stuffed French toast". If you have a sweet-tooth, this will send you soaring! Two pieces of homemade bread Stuffed with a sweetened cream cheese mixture and covered with a generous portion of sweetened fresh raspberries. Just stumbled upon this gem after picking our daughter up from the National Leadership Conference at Camp Miniwanca. She was craving a homemade chocolate chip cookie and they didn't disappoint. Very friendly staff. Sundays are breakfast only and they know what they're doing! Fantastic!!

One of our family's favorite places where the owner is there to greet every guest. The Dive is a great restaurant for a home cooked meal by people who care about making good food. The prices are beyond reasonable and include rare things like fresh baked bread with breakfast specials starting under $4 and handmade burgers. All round great option for a local diner and bakery.
