I really enjoyed my visit here. Service is as others say - excellent. When I asked the waitress (Megan) for recommendations another employee (Tony) who was nearby overheard me and enthusiastically jumped in. He made many wonderful recommendations one of which was their steak hoagie which he said was not made with strips of steak but rather a cut up N.Y. Strip steak. He said to hold the onions and get it with what he calls "Tony's Secret Sauce" - a blend of mayo, bbq sauce and hot sauce. Needless to say my curiousity got the best of me and I'm so happy it did. His sauce was phenomenal! It wasn't too spicy at all but provided just the right amount of zing to go with the hoagie. It was also great for dipping fries into. I just wish it was on the menu because more people should know about and try his sauce. My girlfriend wound up getting the spaghetti and meatballs and this also did not disappoint. The sauce was yummy - clearly homemade and came with several large homemade meatballs. The noodles were also of a good consistency and texture. We'll definitely be going back.

Came for a early lunch on Saturday. It was ok.. Nothing great except for the service. They do have an extensive menu which was nice, because I wasn't sure what I wanted.... They have breakfast items, burgers, gyro's, salads, soup, pasta, lamb shanks, goulash, sandwiches, appetizers, etc. I wasn't sure what I wanted, so I ended up with a cup of chili and a side salad. In regards to the chili, I think it is what you consider "coney island chili". It was bland. I can see where it may improve a hot dog, but it's not something I would want to eat on it's own. The side salad was ok. It's hard to mess up a salad. There was a lot of fresh, crisp lettuce, a couple of tomato wedges, and some croutons. The quantity was great, the only downside was the dressing. I had the blue cheese, but there wasn't really any blue cheese. It tasted like I was putting mayo on my salad. It turned me off, quickly. The waitress was very friendly and kind and I appreciated her being so attentive, but I wasn't pleased with my meal. Despite that, it does have a lot of great reviewss and I will be sure to try for breakfast!

Chicken was flavorful yet slightly burnt, the service was nice considering every seat was full, our waitress was good she suggested good things. The owner was very nice, and made sure to greet all the customers, the food us very affordable and for a coney island you really cannot ask for more. Even in the movies rocky lost his first fight, but that doesn't mean he couldn't come back to win it all!

Good food at cheap prices. Good service too. Every time we've been there, weekend breakfast only so far, it's been packed. I'm a sucker for sausage gravy on my omelette, and their Country Omelette did not disappoint. Cheesy too. I get it every time I'm there. Ken tried their hash, based on our waitress' recommendation, and he thoroughly enjoyed the large platter. He's since tried their French toast, with similar results. My only complaint is I wish it was closer!

I went there this morning for breakfast and i really enjoyed it. The service was good and the food was good too. I like the way the wait staff all work together to get the job done. I ended up not having breakfast but I order the chicken gyro dinner with mashed potatoes and gravy. I loved it! I would have given this 5 stars but the only reason I didn't because they didn't grill the Pita in butter and garlic. Everything else is absolutely great.

OK, we recently returned to Rocky's to see if the food & service quality were a fluke, or if they are actually representative of day-to-day service here. Verdict. 5-Stars! We even brought a particularly picky coworker who generally complains about everywhere we eat. He complained here too, don't get me wrong. His complaint? "They gave me too much food so I'm full!". I switched up to the Country Omelet this time, with hash browns inside and sausage gravy on top. The gravy was surprisingly good, and I may get biscuits and gravy next time. I generally hate restaurant gravy! Service was super again, and all in all this one stays on our "regular" list!

What can I say about Rocky's that hasn't already been said?!?!? This place is off the chain!!! I started going to Rocky's this year and can't believe I didn't give them a chance before. The food is inexpensive, great and good sized portions. They're now my favorite breakfast spot on Saturday mornings with my friends! The 3 egg special is $5.99 which includes: Hash Browns, 2 slices of ham, 3 pieces of bacon, 2 links of sausage and toast! You can't find it any cheaper then that. Best yet, they know how to cook the eggs! Over easy comes out over easy, not undercooked and runny, but perfect!!! The Hash Brown always taste fresh, and don't have the greasy, I sat in a warmer for 3 hours taste! LOL However, I think the most special part of this diner is the staff!!! The waitresses/waiters always make sure your drink is filled and that's a huge plus in my book!!! Best yet, the staff are the friendliest that I've came across and the owner walks around and greets the customers. Westland has been very blessed by having Rocky's Coney & Grill make its home here!!!

Been coming to Rocky's for years and love it! I usually get fish and chips or Rocky's pita. The price is good and portion size is large. They are known for their breakfast, but I rarely ever order it.

I like this place a lot! It's right around the corner from my house. They're super quick and efficient. The staff is very friendly, they often check up on you and make sure you never run out of water. They always have chicken noodle which is my favorite

I hate to be this guy. The guy who breaks the 5 star streak for the local business. I'm not saying it's not good. The service was fantastic, but the Coney's were just average. I'm guessing I missed the boat by not getting a breakfast dish. I would not discourage anyone from coming here, but I just can't give it a 5 star review. I WOULD recommend stopping in though.

I'd heard from friends how great this place was but hadn't gotten around to trying it out until this morning. Great experience, will definitely go back! I came in with some out of town friends, had a table of five, and even though they were busy we were seated instantly. The staff was friendly, and attentive. Our waitress was Jessie, who chatted up our table making us laugh and smile, never letting our glasses get empty. She was awesome, and the food was both delicious and affordable. I'm so happy I found this hidden treasure in my neighborhood!

Good food! Can't beat the $1.99 breakfast special of 2 eggs, sausage, hash towns, and toast

  • Bruce F.

Rocky's is one of my favorite breakfast spots and I particularly like their $1.99 and/or $2.99 breakfast special. Eggs are always perfect and the hash browns just the way we like them. They also have the best grits this side of Atlanta, a nice big bowl instead of/or with the hash browns. The waitress kind of pushes the $2.99 special over the little $1.99 special, but the only difference seems to be one sausage or one piece of bacon. I've only had dinner once or twice some time ago and as I remember was happy with my meal. Good food, good service... I'll be back on a regular basis. They do things right!

I tried this place because I heard rave reviews. I ordered the meatloaf dinner. The mystery meat would have gagged a maggot! The 2 cups of gravy that was dripping off the plate, was undoubtedly, to disguise the taste. It didn't work. I scraped the gravy from the mashed potatoes and found them to be lumpy and bland. The vegetables were dehydrated hospital-food vegetables. Canned vegetables would have been better. I could not eat this. A year later, a friend convinced me to go back and try their coney dogs. Yuck. Cheap hot dog wieners. Stale cold bun. Chili sauce, average, at best. Thumbs down! Rocky cannot cook!

We were visiting from out of town and our family steered us here and it was awesome. I had the Greek Chicken Salad and it was delicious and huge. The pita bread on the side was FRESH and amazing. I'd eat chicken all of the time if it tasted like that. Our server was super attentive. When we're in the area, we'll go here again.

Had the tilapia lunch special. It was just okay.

This is a great little Coney! Service is beyond excellent and the food is inexpensive with large portions. Not low quality food, but real good tasting dishes. I had their Chicken Stir Fry. The chicken was slightly blackened and the vegetables were not overly cooked. It came with a choice of soup are salad and I chose the cabbage soup. Their cabbage soup was really good as well, with a sweet taste that set the stage for the stir fry. I am definitely coming back for seconds!

When Rocky's first opened a couple years ago my first thought was, this is a horrible time to open a new restaurant, they'll be out of business in 6 months! Well Rocky's has proved me wrong. Every time I go in they are busy. No doubt this is do to their great food and super friendly staff. If you are looking for the traditional coney island/ diner fair this is the place to go. I have tried nearly everything on their menu and its all been great. They have great soups and the fish and chips is a cut above all year-round. Other standouts are spinach pie, pancakes, chicken ceaser salad and the ruben on an onion roll. As far as I can tell the owner is there 24/7 and always very friendly, as is the entire staff. On top of all that the prices are moderate! There have been weeks where my friends and I have eaten at Rocky's multiple times! You can't beat a good dinner for two at under $15.
