One of the best coney islands I've been to. Their corned beef hash and corned beef sandwich are delicious. They use real corned beef not the canned stuff. Their southern omelet is delicious. Great prices and breakfast is pretty big sized. The chili for the coney dogs is delicious also, one of the top 5 hot dog chili I've tasted. Normal menu selections for a coney island but everything on there is good, tried everything at least once. Great atmosphere also, come in there every other week or so and everyone there remembers me, my wife and my child. Very friendly servers and cooks, owner also is usually there communicating with customers.

Standard coney island fare, nothing terribly special. My first reuben was undercooked; the second attempt was better, but dry. Not bad if you have to stop, but there are better choices in the area.

I give the staff 5 stars. They are friendly and make you feel welcome. I found the restaurant clean. It's a spare workman-like place. If you're looking for a solid meal and a place for a meeting, it's worth a stop. I've eaten here while meeting on several occasions. There are many coneys in the area, this one's worth a trip for the great treatment by the wait staff and decent food.

I have never had a bad experience here. The food has always been good, and service prompt, and it always seems clean to me. It's pretty much your average we'll run Coney Island style restaurant... No bells, whistles or surprises. Personally I get a bit put out being called "hon" or "sweety" by wait staff, but that's just a personal thing and something you gotta expect from this kind of place. Good, honest, blue collar food, and there's not a thing wrong with that. You'll never be "wowed" but you'll never leave disappointed.

Food and service are great. Been ordering coneys in and around Detroit since the'70's (anybody remember Lips in Detroit?), so I had to try the coney special and fries. Did not disappoint. Men's room could use some attention. Place is otherwise clean and the staff very pleasant and attentive. Thanks!

We absolutly love this place. Its close to home, fast, cheap and the staff is great! the house omlette is a must try. Lately Ive been on a soup/sandwich kick, their soups are tasty and filling. The kids are always happy with what they get too. The coney dogs are also wonderful.

Was in Wayne for the 2nd time in 2 days & was craving a hamburger loose/coney dog special, asked TOM @ Mark Chevrolet & he recommended any L Georges. I got to admit it was a Very Good Coney Special, loaded with meat, chili, onions & lots of mustard! I considered going downtown to Lafayette or American, but can never remember which is best?

The omletes are great! The servers are also very attentive and your coffee is never empty! Probably one of the best coney islands around!

L George's Coney Island has a terrific corned beef hash and their southern omelet is actually my favorite. It's a good breakfast, but the quantity can be a little intimidating. We've been there for breakfast many times and always enjoyed a good meal and attentive, friendly service. My grandson and I have a coney dog there once in a while as well. My wife and I actually have a little bit of history with this spot on Michigan Avenue in Wayne. The site was originally a Burger Chef back in 1969/70 and I worked there alongside her for about $1.35 an hour when were in our teens and we are still together. So maybe it's a little nostalgic as well. Anyway L George's gets a solid 4 stars for good food and service and maybe fond memories.

Do you think you can locate a Coney Island in the Detroit area? Keep looking. This is not the best one, in fact probably the second worst one I have been to. I did not call this meeting. My boss calls me and says let's meet in between offic and plant to do some interviews. HE picks this place. First impressions are everything and this is the dirtiest coney/restaurant I have been in. The coney was cold, and wrinkly(old). Nothing worse than a wrinkly weiner. Chili, no taste. The water had floaties. Don't waist your time at this L George, there is one down the street just past 275 on the same road. Next time I pick the location.

The service sucked, my eggs were undercooked, and the place is filthy. Enough said.

The food is great. The service was great. There are tons of Coney's in Michigan but this one was the cleanest and friendliest in my opinion. And the portions are huge for the price!

Nice staff, okay place. Had clam chowder and steak salad both well done!

We stopped for breakfast this morning and was impressed. Very good food, awesome service and great prices. There are several L. George's Coney Islands in the Detroit area, including one imposter just a couple miles down Hwy 12, called "Z. George's Coney Island." What's up with that? Anywho, my expectation of a Coney Island was more like a fast food place, however L. George is really a diner complete with lunch counter. Like most of the other locally owned family diners in this area, it is owned by a Mediterranean family (Lebanese maybe?) and they have gyros, Greek salads and such on the menu along with all the traditional American diner fare. The breakfasts are friggin ginormous! My wife ordered the #1: 2-eggs, 6 strips of bacon, a huge mound of hash browns and toast for $4.80. That barely paid for all the groceries! I had the Gyro omelet with 4-eggs, gyro meat, onion, green pepper, tomatoes and lots of yummy feta cheese plus toast, all for just $5 and change. It was tasty (and huge). The waitress was fun and very efficient. This is an older location which once was a Hardee's. It still has the old orange booths. It's obvious they put their money in the food rather than fancy facilities. My kind of place!
