Wonderful, warm service...and the magic ends there. I had the lake perch that was less than appetizing...too much breading on the perch. The dessert was a lemon pie that was also just passable. What I will say though is that our server was very friendly, accommodating to our large group of rained-out campers and made us feel right at home. My husband had the ribs, which he said were ok. And there was a big Blackhawks contingent cheering on their team, which made for a loud, but fun atmosphere. I would go back to have a beer and possibly bar food...

Excellent food, friendly staff !!! I've never had a bad meal there. Tuesday night special is fabulous - a delicious 1/4 lb cheeseburger for only $ 0.99 !!!

Three stars might be a bit generous, however, the fact that it my family and I went there for my farewell dinner and I was happy to see them might be influencing the extra star. The server was pleasant enough but older and hard of hearing. Pair that with my great grandparents who are both practically deaf and it made for one interesting ordering experience. The food was subpar which made the price a bit high for your run of the mill tavern food. Part of an order was messed up - normal French fries instead of curly fries, however, the time it took for our food to be served discouraged us from even mentioning it to our waitress. I know it's a hard economy and older folks need to continue working longer than they used to, but I think this place could use a middle/high school aged food runner to help the older server with the trays of heavy plates to tables.

Had the lake perch, it was excellent as usual. The owner is very involved and always buzzing about. The wait staff is pleasant and knowledgeable and very competent. Great place to eat have never had a bad meal there.

We loved it! The four of us all ordered completely different meals and were completely satisfied. The quality of the food was great, as was the service. Nice atmosphere and reasonable prices. The owner was very nice and gave us plenty of personal attention. We are new to the area and have found our "go to" place! The ribs are exceptional!

Small town place with big time food. Barbecue beef is phenomenal; the sauce is thick and smoky and just damn tasty. Lots of options, none bad. Ribs looked good, steak and shrimp looked great too - everyone cleaned their plate in record time. I'll definitely be back, not that it's a hard choice to make given the 25 second walk door to door!
