I took my boyfriend here for Valentines Day(except we celebrated on Sunday night instead of Saturday) and we were not disappointed. I chose the Crooked Goose after browsing restaurants on here on yelp and discovered they had a burger made of 50% ground beef and 50% bacon which I thought my boyfriend would love. We ordered the Crooked Loaf, a soda for me, and a draft beer for him as soon as our server came. The Crooked Loaf is seriously something sent from above. He ordered the lumberjack burger but with the 50/50 patty and I ordered the regular 50/50 burger. We couldn't finish our fries and had to skip dessert. They were scrumptious. Before tip our bill was $33 which was lower than expected. I believe our servers name was Alex and she really helped our experience. She was able to recommend beer and food, extremely knowledgable. We will definitely be going back to try more and potentially fit in dessert.

Seemingly it's "Sweet Ones Day." I've never heard of it, but my wife knows about it. Mum-In-Law offers to babysit and suddenly we find ourselves with a free evening! Where to eat. We've visited the Twisted Rooster and my wife wants to visit their sister restaurant, the Crooked Goose. Somewhere new! Lets go! It's a bit of a journey from where we are. When we get there we're seated immediately. The interior is very nice, kind of greys and very similar to the Twisted Rooster. You would know it's the same owner. There are booths by the window and either side of a divide, one where we're seated. Our waiter is very nice and gives us a thorough run-thru of the menu, mentioning which are the popular dishes as well as his favorites. It all looks and sounds good. We decide to do an appetizer platter called to Golden Goose, so we get a selection of some tasty sounding appetizers. We also go for the crab and cheese dip, one of my wife's favorite appetizers and one recommended by our waiter, "more crab than cheese" he says proudly. We also order the Ultimate Cheese Dog to share. I'm sure the "lots of crab meat" crab dip sounded like a wonderful idea, the problem with it unfortunately, I'm ashamed to say, was there was too much crab. It was practically all crab and no cheese. And crab alone and chips don't make a great combination. My wife was missing the creaminess of a crab dip. And without a bit more cheese, it's very dry. The Golden Goose arrives. The Flash Fried Pretzel is delicious, as are the Volcano straws, fried thin battered onions with an ancho-mayo. The boneless wings I like, but the buffalo sauce is a little too hot of wife, though perfect for me. The hand battered chicken tenders look promising, and the batter is good and there's a fine chunk of chicken in them, but they're soggy. Unfortunate! The hot-dog arrives. Possibly the biggest hot dog I've ever seen. But there's too much going on. It's again too hot for wife and it's so messy you can't pick it up, which is always a shame when it comes to hot dogs. There's too many things on it that you can't decipher one thing from another, so it just looks and tastes a mess. We really wanted to try one of desserts, in particular the deep fried chocolate chip cookie dough, which is also recommended to us by the waiter, but we're just too full. We both leave weighed down with bloated tummys, neither of us feeling wonderful. The Twisted Rooster does your run of the mill food with a twist, something the Crooked Goose doesn't pull off as successfully. It was hit and miss, and not the meal or the experience we we're hoping for on our night off. It was good but not great, promise but with no delivery. The best thing going for it is the venue itself, which is nice and atmospheric and clean. For my money, Rooster beats Goose.

Crooked Goose is still pretty new (7/12) so the wait was a little long. It was worth it! We got the Gator Tail appetizer, recommened by a few fellow yelpers and a neighor who spoke highly. It was fantastic. The sauce served with it was just the right spice. Menu description "tender wicked better fried spiced alligator tail with ancho aloli sauce". My dinner entree was a hard decision as it was my first visit. People have been talking up their specialty grilled cheeses, but in the end I was sold on the Red Hot Honey Chicken Club - "grilled chicken breast smothered in red hot-honey sauce, chopped bacon, caramelized sweet onion, cheddar cheese, lettuce and tomato on a sesame seed bun". It was awesome! If you like a little sweet heat, this is for you. I'm not a huge bacon fan so next time I will get without. Speaking of huge, the sandwiches are HUGE!! No way I could eat it all. Took half the sandwich and fries home. Could split with a friend next time :) Tons of Steak fries and good season to them. My husband got the Wild Fire Chicken Sandwich - "Cajun and chipotle spiced chicken breast with garlic-bacon cream cheese, crisp onion straws, smoked gouda cheese and ancho-aloli sauce on a sesame seed bun" He said it was fantastic. This one was huge too, and he didn't finish it either. The garlic-bacon cream cheese was a little rich for him so he took some off, otherwise it was great. Tons of local Michigan ingredients all over the menu including some great craft beers on tap and in bottle. Happy hour specials during the week include half off appetizers and drafts 3-6pm. Wednesdays are 49c drafts and 49c wings 5-8pm! Too many things on the menu sounding great, we'll be back for sure.

Coming from NY I have visited a few bars, pubs and sport bars here in the Midwest. Visiting this little town "standale". I have to say this is the first time someone gave me a thimble of beer. By that I mean, I asked for a sample of the beer (I was unfamiliar to this beer before hand); the manger told me, her bar does not allow samples. So, she reluctantly offered me a sample of beer. When I received the sample it mostly consisted of head (foam) and was poured into a "thimble" sized glass. Not a even an actual shot glass. Needless to say I was. Very disappointed and taken back. Bare in mind this was a strip mall bar(or sports bar).

The good: fast seating even on 49 cent beer night because we beat the crowd. Very nice waitress. The wings. The bread. The beer. The ok: They forgot to sauce my chicken sandwich. I was too hungry to complain. My hubby thought the fish itself was great but too heavily battered. My son liked his nuggets. Verdict: We will go back. It wasn't horrible and I see potential in it.

I love the atmosphere in this place, and I also seriously enjoy the food. My husband was not a huge fan of what he ordered, (thus the four out of five stars). I had the mushroom grilled cheese, which was absolutely delicious on bread that was soft and warm. Our waitress (unfortunately I cannot remember her name) was super avid on making sure our drinks were always refilled when we were running low. I would go back to this restaurant, and order their food again. I thought it was excellent!

Went for a Sunday lunch with my husband. Can't complain, his burger and my chicken sandwich were huge and pretty tasty. This was our 2nd attempt to eat here. It's a small pub and the wait was overly long the first time. Seems pretty popular.

Happy hour here is my new favorite spot! Beers are $2.00 and appetizers are half off before 6pm Mon-Fri. A friend and I each had a 20oz of Huma Lupa and a order of their nachos, all for under $10. You can not beat that anywhere. The nachos have been the best thing I have ordered so far. Fresh jalapenos, black beans, good chips and a good but not overwhelming amount of cheese with the perfect amount of burnt crisp to the cheese was the highlight of this very cheap evening out. Finally this place really excites me!

Terrible. Can't believe this place has any association with Twisted Rooster, which actually does have pretty good food and great service. Went to try this out thinking it would be a fun, good place near my girlfriends apartment for dinner. We had an appetizer that was LOADED with grease and overcooked, I ordered a burger that was just okay - very salty, and she had their grilled cheese. The grilled cheese was about half butter and was supposed to come with jalapenos. There was no jalapeno on it...but there was quite a bit of garlic. I took one bite and about puked. There was more garlic than I've ever seen in a kitchen at one time, let alone on a single sandwich. Just gross. Absolutely disgusting. Server was uninterested and just generally not good. Didn't bring things we asked for (sides, drinks, etc), gave us one water...to split I guess. And when we told her the food was not that great, her first solution was to try to bring us more food, which we turned down. Could hear the kitchen staff from across the restaurant cursing us out for complaining about the pile of garlic. Their "local" beers one third as much down the street. Paid about $7 for a Founder's Pale Ale. I'm not stingy, but that's an insane amount of money to pay for a beer that's made just a few miles from there and usually sells for $3 or $4, less in the stores and less at the brewery. I really hope they get their act together, because Twisted Rooster is a great restaurant and I'm told they're owned by the same group. Unfortunately, you couldn't drag me back into this s***hole. There are MUCH better options in Grand Rapids. I would urge you to drive right past this place.

4*'s because the drinks, aptmosphere, Great service & Awesome Steak Fries. The burger was not very tasty. Not bad, just not pod either, very disappointing. Wife had the chicken fingers they were great. And the steak fries were fantastic, and the MI microbrew selection is fantastic. Check this place out but pass on the burgers.

Went here for lunch with my husband on a Thursday afternoon. Service was great, food came quick, and everything was delicious. He ordered a sweet and savory burger with haystack onions, bbq sauce, and bacon, which was amazing!! I ordered the chipolte chicken sandwich that came with haystack onions and bacon cream cheese. It sounded a little overloaded, but the flavors all came together so well. Steak fries came with both meals and were cooked perfectly crisp. Their menu is smaller than other restaurants, but the variety makes up for that. Highly recommend.

And out to a late lunch with my wife and youngest. The food was great, but if you have kids it's probably best to leave them at home, the atmosphere was a little noisy for her. I ended up choosing the roo 2.0 and added bambam sauce. The wait staff was very attentive to our needs and kept the waters always full and when we did run into an issue my drink not being delivered to the table) Tyler was quick to remedy the situation. The burger I ordered came out with cheese on it, I didn't ask for cheese, but it was a mistake that I enjoyed. The meat itself wasn't the most tasty that I've had, but was far from the worst. The bun was nice and simple. It was nice to take a bite and not be overwhelmed by 2 inches of dough. The fries were a simple steak cut and lightly seasoned. I added a little extra pepper, because that's how I roll. My drink of choice today was the loaded root beer. I consider myself to be a root beer aficionado and so I figured why not add some whipped vodka to it. It was a great choice! It calmed served in the bottle and had a nice lite flavor to it. The only improvement I would make is to get a longer straw. Overall I give this place a solid 4 star rating, this is based upon one visit.... And I plan on coming back again, I'm gonna try me a pizza next time around

Good, not great. I went in really wanting to like everything about the Crooked Goose. Walked out thinking it was just okay. I wouldn't discourage someone from going, but definitely not telling people it is a "must" visit. First, the service definitely left something to be desired. We had a group of 4 adults and 3 kids. We decided to wait on beers until we decided what to eat. We started with 6 waters and a chocolate milk. Pretty simple, but she forgot the chocolate milk. Took quite a while for her to come back and take our food order. Once the food came, she checked on us right in the beginning, but we didn't see much more of her. We ordered alligator tail and cheese bread as appetizers. We were happy with both. The food was average. The kids pizzas and personal pizzas had little toppings and lots of crust. The pizza sauce was very sweet. The Lumberjack burgers were a little over done, but had decent taste. The mushroom grilled cheese received the best review from our group. We had a few beers. All pretty good depending on your taste preference. We also ordered a loaded root beer. Probably wouldn't order that again.

Any place that has a Maurice Salad on the menu is good in my book! The former JL Hudson's restaurant classic is prepared exactly as I remembered it at the Crooked Goose. We've been twice: once on a Friday evening where we waited for about 1/2 hour and once on a Sunday for lunch, seated immediately. I would avoid CG during high traffic times; there is nowhere 'good' to wait and you end up crowded by the door without designated seating, often in the way of the waitstaff trying to round that corner. No bueno. But once you get your table or booth, prepare for a good, solid pub and grub experience. Crooked Goose's menu is simple and limited. I love that! Standout items include the aforementioned Maurice Salad, the chicken wings, and the Mushroom Grilled Cheese. Nearly every item on the menu, specialty drinks included, has a Michigan-made component. I applaud their commitment to local, and they pull it off just as well as, if not better than, other GR restaurants with the same goal. The decor is gastropub casual with a good balance of chic elegance (the pendulum lights over the bar and the turn of the century style back-bar) with lighthearted whimsy (the painted murals and animal mounts). It's the perfect gathering place for GVSU co-eds, friends on a night out, or even small families. The last time we were in, there was an 8-top of in-uniform US Soldiers. Eclectic, welcoming, down-to-earth, and delicious, with good service to boot.

First time here- ordered Nachos for appetizer. Very sub par for $10. Dry, very little cheese -definitely would not order again. Wait time for dinner was surprisingly long. Really expected the same level of service as Twisted Rooster.

Our waitress was great. More healthy Vegetarian options would be nice. The sauces with the pretzel app were tasty as were the pretzels. I would have preferred a classic grilled cheese on sour dough.

I miss the Crooked Goose. It's a great funky foodie bar. Comfort food that you can't really make at home. The desserts are necessary, fried cookie dough and the crooked brownie are both beyond delicious. I go for the dough when I need salty and I have driven the brownie over state lines to have it at the new home. The grilled cheeses are fine. The ratios or pairings of bread and cheese are off for me, depending on which one you get. The pizzas are GOOD! Be prepared for spicy sauce though. A no spice companion in my group couldn't even handle the mild option. My favorite is the chicken pot pie. The crust is like a phyllo dough so it's flaky and gets in every bite, just comforting warmth of yumminess. My other favorite is the wings, I get them with three sauces and scarf them down. The drinks are good too, the loaded faygos are perfect for a non beer drinker like myself and also a good pairing for bar food. Go and eat! Don't forget to take advantage of those awesome specials!

I went there when they first opened and the service was absolutely terrible. The food was subpar and my wife and I got sick literally right away. Maybe things have changed since then but I will never go back which sucks because being a local boy I loved the idea of having a farm to table type restaurant/bar that I can walk to.

I was a little nervous going after reading some of the reviews, but I was *very* pleasantly surprised! My sister and I split the wild mushroom grilled cheese and a burger and both were very delicious. I ordered some sort of "adult Faygo" drink and it was to.die.for. We will definitely go back and I can't wait to try it's sister restaurant, the Twisted Rooster!

My husband and I just went here for the first time. He ordered the lumberjack burger and he said it was great. The meat was flavorful and tender. The steak fries were delicious as well. I had the red hot chicken club with Parmesan mashed potatoes. The pmp were awesome! I loved the flavor of the sandwich. It was our first visit, so they brought us a complimentary crooked loaf. Amazing! We will be back!

Stopped in for a quick snack. My wife a Vegetarian & got a simple house salad and I got the DJ's chicken tenders. Salad is what you'd expect for a salad nothing to brag about, the chicken tenders were well above average. Great flavor and moist with a nice crispy batter.

UPDATE: Went back this afternoon to give the Goose another try, but to no avail. Once again the appetizer was pretty good. Not great. I had the gator tail. Tasted like chicken with a little more chew to it and had a subtle fishy taste. The Buffalo Chicken grilled cheese was barley edible. Surprising since the grilled cheese is the house specialty. The bread looked good, but was so thick and dry. There was hardly any shredded chicken, and it had no kick to it. Also, the blue cheese was terribly overwhelming. I tried the Waikiki burger as well. While the lumberjack burger was overly sweet and gross, the sweetness of the pineapple on the Waikiki is the only thing that ALMOST saves you from the overly salted and charred flavor of the burger. Not charred in a good way either. While there is more on the menu i'd like to give a try, i've come to the conclusion that the Goose is only good for half off munchies. The food was really weak. Everything is over salted and any sweet elements are completely overpowering. The Lumberjack burger sounded great in theory, but the maple bourbon sauce eliminated every savory aspect and rendered the bun too soggy. I ate half of it, which is a first for me and burgers. It was also covered in an absurd amount of fried onion strings. I've seen a lot of people raving about this burger, including the fifteen managers that approached my table to ask me about it. I don't see how anyone could stomach the whole thing. The steak fries were good, but covered in way too much salt. My lady friend had the pot pie which had a really funky taste to it. It's pretty hard to screw up a pot pie, but mission accomplished. Overall, this place has great potential, but the executive chef really needs to tweak his recipes. There are great ideas on the menu, but certain elements of each dish are complete overkill.

My fiancé and I stopped here for the first time for dinner on a Monday evening. Rachel was awesome and so helpful with our questions. He had the lumberjack burger and he loved it. Steak fries were great and not too soft or too crispy. I had a chicken sandwich and it was so tasty. The chili was HOT and SPICY! Definitely perfect in my opinion because I love heat in my chili but definitely not for someone who prefers mild. I didn't love the cornbread croutons in it though, but next time ill just ask for it without. Definitely stop in. Service and food was awesome.

Enjoyed the small details such as the goose emblem everywhere to reinforce the identity of the Crooked Goose. They could have put in a better ceiling to match the atmosphere they were going for. Disliked the placement of the TVs...better for a place like this to just have two TVs by the bar and that's all. Go for the pub feel than a sports bar. Service was excellent. Lots of staff available and all eager to help. Love that they carry so many Michigan beers & was informed they will seasonally rotate them out which is a big plus. Ordered the Waikaki burger with potato salad (made in-house) which was good, but the burger is so juicy that it ruins the bun. A toasted bun or better quality bread is needed to stand up to the juicy burger. Definitely a good place for a quick pit stop to get out of the summer heat while running errands.

We ventured out into another Michigan blizzard and trekked all the way across town during rush hour only to have an extremely underwhelming experience at the Twisted Rooster's red-headed step-brother of a restaurant, the Crooked Goose. We were seated promptly and were happily anticipating the experience. The atmosphere in this little sports-bar-meets-gastropub was nice and that is the only thing that saved them a star. Our server was aloof and forgot requests multiple times. She forgot to put in out food order and had to come back to our table to ask us what we ordered. The ticket ran for about 45 min and then she let the food die in the window. I ordered the Fish'n'Chips, Eva had the Michigan Melt. Her bread was soggy and my fish was over cooked from the heat lamps. Over all it was just a bummer. I give the Crooked Goose 2/5 stars.

We had a great meal here. The burgers are absolutely amazing. I can't remember the name of mine, but it was stacked with bacon, cheese, onion straws and BBQ sauce. It was cooked just right and went down nice and greasy. It was a true half pounder which I couldn't finish with the awesome steak fries it came with. My wife enjoyed her chicken pot pie, but the serving was pretty small. Seemed more like an appetizer than a main course. Great beer selection and prices. I was sooo happy to find Hopslam on tap here having missed the release in SE Michigan. Oh, and the deep fried cookie dough bites are CRACK!

Sad service! 10+ minutes before a waitress came to our table, another 10 or so until our drinks came, our food sat in front of us for at least 5 minutes while we waited for silverware, watched our waitress flirt with some guy in the corner while we waited for our check.... I know! I'm usually not so brutal but jeez!!!! My salad ( Maurice) was good, my dinner partner had a chicken sandwich, it was soggy and cold . We will give it another try, I really like their Maurice salad and they have good burgers. Their "sister" restaurant in GR (twisted rooster) is better.

Went to crooked goose about two years ago with the family. My young son got sick there (fast moving stomach flu that was going round). Manager made us feel like Sh**. Mess was left in front of us and other guests for 15+ minutes. Manager spoke derogatory towards my wife. I didn't find this out till we got to the car. I went back in and said what I should have said before to the manager. He followed me out the door like he was planning on fighting me! This was two years ago. I finally decided to go back. What can I say...I'm a sucker for local. Anyhow...food...ok. service still sucks. If you can't bring food out all at once don't bring it out at all. Plus, design wise, the restaurant sucks. The booths are devided by a high wall making it impossible for you to see half of an already small restaurant.

Wanted to like it and was excited to go there. Service was great, food was disappointing. My friend ordered a salad "mixed greens" and added chicken to it, Good thing she did because otherwise it would have just been a giant bowl of lettuce - not mixed greens. I got the buffalo sandwich and the bread was great, but I swear it was microwaved square cheese with not much chicken :( steak fries were very tasty. Overall not impressed and will not be going back.

This is definitely my favorite restaurant in Grand Rapids right now. The service is friendly, the pub style food is dead on, and the beer selection is great. The location is safe and clean. I highly recommend this place, especially on weeknights when the wait to get in is zero. My go-to for this place is the El Conquistador burger, which is avocado nachos on a burger.

Came for lunch and waited a long time for service, food, etc. they were understaffed. They also ran out of knives. Seems odd given the place wasn't full of people. All in all, disappointed.

Went to this restaurant for lunch during the week. Just like at twisted rooster, the menu items are different and focus on many michigan ingredients. The food was really good, except for the steak fries which were totally not worth the calories. The only reason I took one star off was the staff. The hostess sounded very ditzy and didn't make any sense when she say us. Our waitress wasn't very attentive, but she was nice when she did come around. All in all, we would go back.

The atmosphere was great, the food was awesome. My co-workers and I tried the nachos with chicken, they were great, despite the fact that we ordered them WITHOUT jalepenos but they came with them on the nachos anyway. It was really no biggie, we picked them off. I ordered the chicken quesadilla, the jalepeno cream sauce was great! I was worried, because I despise anything spicy, but it was really flavorful and not much heat.

Everything was way over spiced, gator tail was over salted, chili dog tasted like cumin straight out of a jar. Even the pizza was so spicy that my date could not shake the taste for an hour. I mean wtf. The only good thing was that service was fast so the pain went over quickly. The staff was friendly.

Love the food, love the atmosphere. Good location from my work as well. Nice place to grab a drink on your date or nice place to take family and enjoy the very cool menu of different items! Pizza is great. Grill cheese is great! Haven't had a bad dish yet.

After some good marketing on Facebook, and already being a fan of Twisted Rooster, my family and I had to try the Grand Opening of Crooked Goose. Having seen a few pictures on facebook, I knew this was going to be a tough order. My husband and I went back and fourth and decide to try the pizza, The Wilson St. This pizza promises a kick with Piri Piri sauce (chili pepper based sauce) with spicy Andouille Sausage and red and yellow tomatoes with goat cheese tucked under the mozzarella. This was a SMASH. Cooked perfect and just the right level of spice and sweet. We attempted to order pizza for the kids but were informed that the red sauce was also spicy and odds were the kids wouldn't like it (odd it was listed on the kids menu but they insist they are working to cool the sauce down for the kids) A nice waiter (not ours) stopped by to clear our table and of course shamelessly plugged dessert in front of my 2 and 4yr old. It was hard to say no to both them and the waiters description Crooked Brownie seemed like the no brainer, but in this case less would be more. Neither one of my kids cared for the brownie (loaded with just about everything on top but could have done without the huge chunks of dried out cookie dough and stale rice krispys on top) All and all, we will go back for sure and try almost everything on the menu (I don't think I will try the Gator tail) Oh and friends, 5-8pm on Wednesdays $.49 PBR beer and wings. Yes BEER and WINGS for less than fifty cents each. For a Grand opening this place ran like a well oiled machine

First time in today! This place rocks! The menu is a perfect combination of mainstream dishes and outside the box entrees! I had the fried pretzels and pot pie. Both were delicious. Autumn the bartender had an amazing personality coupled with great knowledge of the menu. She is EXACTLY what every bartender SHOULD represent. The restaurant features a heavy infusion of Michigan from the beers on tap to the ingredients in the food. A breath of fresh air from any corporate restaurant. As an AGM of a family restaurant, I can promise this place is a win-win!

Awesome happy hour specials! $2 16oz drafts, half off apps! The 5 cheese bread was pretty good. I had the jalapeno grilled cheese. It was pretty good. I think they went overboard on the cheese and it could have used more jalapenos. Overall, pretty good. I'd probably go back again...especially for happy hour.

well this is somehow connected 2 one of my fave restaurants the twisted rooster but pales by comparision the food portions were small i had the chicken pot pie which was totally reworked and not really to my liking prices are a little high $9.50 for a bologna sandwich reminded me of the $5.00 milkshake in 'pulp fiction"!

We got the gator tail for an appetizer-- really tasty and loved the sauce. I got the Jalapeno grilled cheese (added bacon to it) and fries-- AMAZING and my husband had the Lumberjack burger (I think that was what it was called) and loved it. We have no reason to go to Applebee's again. We were really impressed with what they did with the decor. Didn't feel like we were in a strip mall at all. This will definitely be a regular spot for us.

I give them the benefit of the doubt considering it is opening day, but at 2:45 on a Monday, it's about as slow as your restaurant is going to get. And, upon walking in, there were no other customers in the restaurant. We were greeted warmly by the hostess who seated us promptly at a location of our choosing (booth). She told us our waitress' name and that she would be with us shortly. She then left us to the menu. She came back to tell us her name and some other piece of information, but did not offer to grab us drinks. We then had another waitress, NOT the one who was to be serving us for the duration of our meal, stop by with drink napkins and take our drink order (2 waters). She returned shortly after with the waters and assured us that the waitress would be along shortly. Our waitress finally showed up to the table and apologized for taking so long as she "had stuff to do and couldn't just walk away". The utensils came out in a drink cup, a bit tacky for my taste, but perhaps the silverware expo equipment isn't in yet. The waitress directed us toward the left side of the menu, starting with the "Munchies" and pointing out the house favorites for all areas of the menu, listing the Crooked Loaf and soft pretzels for favorite appetizers, and raved about the Lumberjack burger and the Grilled cheeses. We had the Crooked Loaf for an appetizer, which came out very very hot after about 12 minutes. The bread was pretty good, but after a few pieces, it became too salty. My date ordered the East Side Pie and I had the popular Lumberjack burger. When asked how I wanted that cooked, I said Medium. After the appetizer was gone, our main came within 5 minutes or so. My medium burger was far over cooked, coming out well done. I sent it back and requested a re-cook and the waitress apologized and assured me it would be taken care of. 8-9 minutes later my remake came out at the hand of a manager. I cut into the burger and again it was well done. I decided to eat this one since my date was already done eating. When the manager came by to inquire about the temperature, I informed him that it was overcooked. He didn't handle the news well and stuttered when finding words to deal with the situation. He landed on "I'll make a note of that." After another 10 minutes or so they offered us a free dessert, which is unfortunate as I was already full. Regardless, we chose a dessert (the slutty brownie and vanilla icecream) which came out a few minutes later. Sad to say, the bowl that it was in had caramel caked all over the side, most unappetizing. Overall, the service from the waitress was ok, save for the fact that it took her a while to get to the table. However, the food service and the service from the management staff was less than satisfactory. I will return soon to give a second chance.

They have a fantastic, unique take on pub food. The Lumberjack Burger is a must!! Great pub atmosphere!

Went here for happy hour (2-6pm during weekdays) and was pleasantly surprised the amount of craft beers on tap. They had brews from Founder's, Bells, Shorts, Brewery Vivant, etc. The waitress was helpful and attentive and even sprinted across the restaurant to get our beer order in a 5:59pm. Our waters were refilled promptly. The atmosphere is okay - quite loud and there is not a lot of room between tables. The food is decent. I had the buffalo chicken grilled cheese. Although I appreciated the flavor of the sandwich, the bread was very thick and overpowering. Overall, a nice restaurant with good happy hour deals.

The Crooked Goose has a wonderfully "Michigan" menu and offers a variety of options, from standards to unique dishes. Their lumberjack burger is one of the best burgers I have had, definitely recommend. Their Faygo options and desserts that incorporate Michigan products, fudge included, make them a worthwhile dining destination.

Very mediocre was the opinion of all four adults. Quesadillas lacked flavor, crab dip was fishy, nachos were average, and the wing sauces were above average. Waitresses were sweet and nice ambiance. Can't believe this restaurant is from the same people who gave us the awesome Twisted Rooster.

Drinks here were really expensive. Ended up drinking soda. UGH! Anyway, ordered with friends so we could try a variety of items from the menu and loved the onion rings/straws. Very spicy and delicious. Also tried pretzel bread with the two dipping sauces. Runny sauce not very flavorful. Thick sauce, spicy mustard was awesome. Fresh baked loaf of bread was pretty decent too. While I enjoyed the food, the cost of the drinks was just really out of line with other businesses in the area. I also had to say our server was just amazing. She was all over the place keeping my glass filled and making sure we had everything we needed. She was fantastic.

Greasy, greasy, greasy. Got their version of chicken fingers because I was really craving Ms. Dog's mustard and UGH so greasy that the breading kept falling right off the chicken! Nasty. The spices in the breading weren't very good either. The caesar salad had powdered parmesan cheese on it, which was just...really unsatisfying. It sounds like they have good deals on drinks, but I'd probably skip the food if I were you.

So we tried Crooked Goose again tonight as we were nearby and hungry. The happy hour drink specials were great....$2 well drinks!! Can't go wrong with that. But that was pretty much all that went well. We ordered 2 appetizers which came staggered, and then promptly followed by our entrees. I appreciate the quick service but it was much too fast to enjoy appetizers and drinks before the rest of the food came. Our waitress was friendly enough and fairly efficient. The food was just...meh. The grilled cheese barely had any cheese, and the potato salad lacked potatoes. It didn't help that we asked what vegetarian options they had (both of us being veggies) and the first thing out of our waitresses mouth was "well, not much." Oh well.

Loved the atmosphere and beer/drink selection. We tried the alligator appetizer. Unique on the menu but no better/different than popcorn chicken. My wife had the jalapeño grilled cheese and loved it. I had the lumberjack burger and the taste was great. One complaint is it needs a better bun that can stand up to the juiciness. Being picky because I know its new but we don't need literally 7 different people asking us how it tastes while we are eating. It is a welcome new restaurant on the Walker/Standale scene.
