Diabetics at TGI Friday

If you're a diabetic, then you must be extra careful while dining at TGI Friday. Try the salad menu at TGI Friday to keep your sugar and sodium intake in check. Soups are great to keep you full and satisfied without munching on the unhealthy greased meat-based dishes on TGI Friday menu.

Foods to Avoid at TGI Friday for Diabetics:

Sugar and sodium intake are crucial if you have diabetes. While the salads are the best option for you at TGI Friday, it is recommended to avoid the Pecan-Crusted Chicken Salad containing over 1000 calories and 1,650mg sodium. Also, skip Warm Pretzels with Craft Beer-Cheese dipping sauce as it contains more than 3000mg sodium. It is wise to skip the dessert for diabetics, especially the Brownie Obsession topped with Vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, and pecans.

This place is a hidden gem. We used to get lunch catered from there and I would be ridiculously excited when we did. Breads, cookies, and pastries are baked fresh daily, and I always see a ton of catering baskets going out early in the morning. I love the way they do their chicken salad and I absolutely crave the veggie Greek sandwich - for catering trays, it usually comes on a half of a croissant. Sooo yummy. Their salads are also delicious - I love the poppyseed dressing. Don't get me started on the cookies and muffins! Prices are reasonable and the cafe is clean and cute, with a few outdoor tables. I only wish it weren't located in a strip mall but rather on Washington or perhaps Lafayette in Royal Oak.

So, I don't think this place would have ever come to my knowledge if I hadn't worked next door for a few months. this place is easy to miss and easy to fall in love with once you sample some of the fantastic treats Troy's Ridley's has to offer. Located on Rochester Road at 17 Mile Rd (Wattles), Ridley's offers awesome sandwiches, tasty bake goods, catering and gift baskets, so essential they've almost got it all. The Greek vegetarian sandwich with feta, spinach, and a yogurt dill sauce that will leaving you licking your lips, is a must. The spinach and cheese croissant is buttery and sweet all at once. The staff at Ridley's is friendly, the service quick. Whenever I ventured in for a little lunch I always notice how clean the joint is even during a lunch rush. Great food in a clean, welcoming environment, I say heck ya!

I'm so glad I gave this a try. Based on other reviews, I was expecting excellence, and Ridley's did NOT disappoint! Sometimes people bring in their muffins, scones and cookies to work which have all been very tasty. I just had never eaten lunch there. What a gem. The ladies at the counter were friendly and helpful. I was going to get one of the lunch muffins, but the lady helping me suggested the stuffed croissant. Who doesn't love a buttery croissant, and stuffed with goodies like meat & cheese? I chose the feta, spinach, tomato croissant, which was all kinds of deliciousness. I got a combo meal with cookie & pop. The combo came with a small side of cole slaw (nice flavor), a 1/4 cookie (lemon- chewy, yum-yum), plus a full cookie of my choice. I don't remember the name of it but it had a little of everything, oats, raisins, chocolate, coconut, etc. Had to share with my lunch date it was so big and rich. Now I want to try one of everything. I'll be back! Frequently!!

After finishing a fasting blood test one morning, I decided that carry-out breakfast was in order and tried this place that I had meant to visit for a long time. The first good sign: a full parking lot. The second: the smell of fresh baked goods that enveloped me with each step from my car. Once inside, I saw a bright room and whirr of activity. I immediately went to the muffin case. There were so many different kinds. Most of them had oat bran in them. All were huge, with volcanically overflowing tops. I chose a mixture of apple and cherry ones. I also bought a loaf of fat-free eight-grain bread, the densest one according to the staff. From the first bite, I knew that these muffins were incredibly good. They had a perfect texture, at the ideal point in the gooey to dry continuum. They had a similar just right sweetness (present but not overwhelming). When added to the aforementioned size, the result was muffin bliss. The bread, although not on the level of the muffins (what could be?), was also very good. It was appropriately meaty. It did not have the strength or taste balance of the multigrain loaf from Breadsmith in Grosse Pointe Woods but was definitely better than average. In summary, Ridley's is heaven for the muffin maven. I will be back for not only breakfast but lunch, which has lots of appealing, healthy choices for vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike. It's great to see a local establishment committed not only to food that's good for you but food that tastes good.

This is one of the best delis in Troy! They have a great variety of sandwiches, soups and salads. They always have special sandwiches and wraps each day as well. They also have the best muffins I have ever had. They are huge but extremely tasty. It is a great lunch location!

This place is a little out of my way, but well worth the detour if you're seeking a fresh and speedy lunch served with a smile. You order your sandwiches and baked goods a you walk in and, buy the time you get to the end of the counter to cash out, they often have your sandwich made and ready to go. When you order a sandwich here, you get a full box lunch with a small container of cole slaw, potato or pasta salad, along with a bite of dessert (a quarter of a large cookie, or half of a brownie). It makes a take-out lunch seem a little more like an occasion than just lugging a bit of meat between two slabs of bread back to home or work. I'm a big fan of the tuna salad sandwiches and marble rye bread here, but everything I've ever tasted has always been fresh and delicious. Great deli meats and salads, with a menu light on red meats and heavy on fresh deli meats and salads. Lots of fresh veggies on your sandwiches as well (Tuna features slices of tomato, cucumber and lettuce). This used to be a tiny, tiny place until they expanded a couple of years ago to make a little more room for the in-store dining area...but it still has a cozy feel with scads of locals and regulars supporting this local biz. Be sure to pick up one of the loyalty cards at the cash register on your way out. You'll get a free sandwich or loaf of bread for every 10 times you visit and get your card checked off.

After numerous positive reviews, I visited Ridley's. I ordered a sandwich and was informed that I got two sides. When I asked what my choices were, the cashier replied you don't have any. I was shocked! I asked what they were because I have severe food allergies. Apparently I am the only person on the Earth with this problem because the cashier informed me that it is not her responsibility to deal with food allergies. She is not responsible for my safety and knowledge of the ingredients in the sides. Also, there is not a nutritional/allergen menu present. Therefore, it is not my responsibility to ingest the food served at Ridley's. It is my responsibility to let everyone know what awful, irresponsible, insensitive people are being trained to work at this establishment.

Just had my 1st Ridely's experience and have to say I will definitely be making it one of my usual lunch spots. The place was packed, but my order came up really quickly and we were still able to find seating for 3. Like Panera you order at the counter, but the food is much better and fresher. The menu has a lot of options (many healthy choices) and basically includes homemade soups, bakery items, sandwiches, wraps and salads. I got the chicken salad sandwich on 8-grain bread. The chicken salad was delicious and contained dried cranberry's. The bread is made fresh. I also got a cup of the chicken chilli, which was low fat and equally delicious. The sandwich portions are large and I ended up taking home half the sandwich. So next time I would either split or order half a sandwich. The meal also comes with a small "sweet treat" of the day and a small cup of either potato or pasta salad. Yum! I am all about non-packaged, non-processed, quality food and Ridley's delivered. Side Note: This would not be an ideal place for a large group since the largest table fits about 4 people, but you can always get the lunch to go. They do catering as well.

For lunch, Ridley's can't be beat. Why would you got to Panera, when you can get a fresh, local lunch at a place like this. I can't recommend the Chicken Club with Turkey Bacon enough. I love it with the 8-grain bread. I also love that they give you just a little sample cold salad and a taste of something sweet with you order. Just the right amount of other flavors to make your meal feel complete. Not a ton of seating but they have added more since they've remodeled. I do as many lunch meetings here as I can. I've introduced quite a few friends to this place as well and none have been disappointed.

Every review was dead on! This will be a regualr place for me to go for lunch. The 8-grain bread is awesome! I have been looking for a good local sandwhich shop and this is it. If you like Panera this place makes it look like Subway.

I am so bummed that I have driven by this place a thousand times and never stopped there until this week. I feel like I have been missing out for a long time. But, in my defense, this place is in a strip mall, tucked into the corner of the mall - it is not terribly noticeable! Reviewers who say it is like Panera but better have it correct, but this place is so much more than a Panera. Really. Panera uses a lot of pre-packaged items here and no, their soup is not homemade. Ridley's soups are clearly made there. The breads are excellent and the menu is interesting, there is something for everyone. My daughter loved that she could actually see the employees mixing the dough for the breads. You won't find that at most places. Sandwiches are great. Service is very good and the employees are friendly. The added sweet treat to our sandwiches gets a huge thumbs up.

My wife and I stopped in here because she knew the baked goods are quite delicious. I also saw a picture of one of their gigantic cookies and wanted to try one. We decided to get a mixed bag of stuff to give as gifts for some friends that recently did a favor for us. While we were picking out some items, I went with the "Loaded with Blueberries" muffin along with a massive sugar cookie that was sprinkled with sugar. I broke out the sugar cookie first and it was amazing. Nice and crisp on the outside and it was oh-so-soft and gooey on the inside. Next up was the muffin. I love blueberries and this muffin did not disappoint. The muffin was incredibly heavy. It was absolutely loaded with blueberries. I loved it. I will definitely be back to try some of their other items. The inside of this place made me feel comfortable. It was like a cool neighborhood cafe that had indoor/outdoor seating. They also serve up sandwiches and soups and stuff for everything your little heart may desire.

I discovered Ridley's about 2 years ago. I was out in the Troy area with an hour or so to spare before meetings, so I decided to grab some lunch. I remember seeing the "People Love us on Yelp " sticker when I walked up, and my expectations were raised a little higher. Luckily - not only were my expectations met... they were exceeded. Let's see, what do I love about Ridleys. Um.... pretty much everything. Fat free tuna salad is the big tuna. I mean, this blows Star Deli's FF tuna out of the water!! It is delicious- made with a lot of dill (which I love). Every bite, bit, or brownie of a baked good I've noshed on here has also been absolutely fab. I remember stopping in while I was pregnant once and getting a cookie to go for my daughter. The cookie did not make it home...,oops. I also love their selection of Ice Teas. Its the little extra's about Ridleys that make this a fabulous place for a lunch, or an impressive spread to cater in to an office meeting or luncheon.

When I moved to Troy, I was bummed about food- I was under the mistaken impression that the food scene was soulless and institutional. It was up to me to correct that initial worry, and when I found Ridley's it was step #1. Ridley's is a family owned NON chain restaurant that hooked me (and many, many other Troybians) as a regular right away. Homemade bread, muffins, scones, desserts, quiche, and fresh salads and sandwiches... let's not forget the practically famous chicken and rice soup! The best combo holds a TON of food. It includes a sandwich, cup of soup, HUGE muffin, small coleslaw and drink for less than $10. So while the menu might seem like your regular 'expensive sandwich' shop, the combos are where its at. If you have to pick up treats for coworkers or make a basket for a gift, this is your place- along with any breakfast or lunch friend date. They have a talent for baking and passion for freshly prepared deliciousness. You won't be disappointed.

Everything at Ridley's looks good. I usually eat with eyes first, and on that note I'm never disappointed. I've been getting muffins from this place most of my life. Growing up, and still living only a few miles away I frequent them weekly. I've never had anything other than their fresh bread for meals, and the muffins. I love the muffins full of that liquid joy in the middle. For $2 you can't go wrong, it's on the 'huge' side. Berry this, peaches and cream that. Muffin of the month, and seasonal options always add to Ridley's 'yum' factor. The muffin top is so good, and overall they are super moist. Ridley's does simple well. They excel at what they are, and take a lot of pride in it. This is just one of those places you have to try! ~Matt

When I am on the road on Saturdays I usually go to LaMarsa or Zumba, this week I decided to see what the Yelpers were Yelping about. I called ahead & ordered a Panini Grilled New Yorker - Lean roast beef, roasted turkey breast, Applewood smoked bacon, cheddar & asiago cheese, red onion, grilled on homemade bread $6.25 A+ It was very good & had some awesome grill marks, loads of flavor , plus they included a sampling of our Salad Of The Day and A Sweet Treat which was a good cole slaw B & a 1 inch by 1 inch brownie A I also wanted to try their chicken chili A Plus I wandered and browsed the 'Flamboyant' bakery goodies WOW! but I did not indulge . . . .this time The staff was very efficient on the phone and at the counter/ register

This place is pretty awesome. It looks like a Panera, but less corporatey and more soul. The baked goods are phenomenal and reasonably priced. Everything I've tried was great (Including the little mini muffin thing I got with my sandwich!). The chicken chili was tasty. The bread that my sandwich came on was perfect. The sandwich as a whole was mehh... I knew I made a poor choice when I saw the painted on faux grill marks of the chicken. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't cooked fresh. The sandwich was some sort of Mediterranean Chicken with a Pesto Mayo. It was served cold... but probably would've been much better hot or panini style (was this an option?). All in all, a great little shop. I got a Sandwich, Cup of Soup, Mini Muffin, and a Molasses Cookie for just over $10. Pretty good deal. This place is a must try.... and with the proper sandwich selection next time, I foresee an upgrade to 5 stars.

Best of everything. Paninis, soups, pastries, coffee, fresh smoothies, juices, great teas, breads, muffins. Everything is so tasty and well made. Highly recommended for quick stop for lunch or coffee break. They also have some seating outiside in the summer.

Had the muffins and, honestly, had a hard time choosing with the great selection. I was pleasantly surprised to pay only $2 for a giant, freshly made bakery item. Looked like Ridley's had a constant stream of regulars who keep coming back for more, giving it a friendly, warm, neighborhood vibe. I'll be visiting again and again, ready to try the coffee cakes, cookies, and other bakery items. This bakery is amazing!

I am so happy I stumbled across this great lunch spot! I am over the Panera breads that give you absolutely nothing for your money. I have tried this place twice now and I am blown away by how fresh everything tastes! I always get the sand which, soup and cookie combo which runs about $10. There are more affordable options but this is my favorite combo. The chicken wild rice soup is to die for and I am obsessed with their lemon white chocolate chip cookie! I feel so full and satisfied and never feel like I wasted my money on just an ok lunch. It's always delicious and always wonderful. This is a must go! You won't be disappointed!

I have been going here for years. I have never been disappointed. This is always my go to place to take people for lunch. It's one of those little gems more people need to know about. The sandwiches are great. Lots of choices for the non-meat eating crowd. Baked goods are always delicious. The lemon white chocolate cookie is AMAZING. The fresh brewed Iced tea is wonderful. They never disappoint. If you haven't been here yet you have to give it a try.

I love this place a lot! I have gotten several of their muffins, cookies, and stuffed croissants and all have been very good. There are not many tables, so the place fills up fast at lunch and can be kind of hectic, but it is worth it. I have not been able to try the soup, but after reading the reviews I can't wait to! The muffins and other bakery goods are absolutly delicious. They have really good flavor and texture. I was able to get one of my hard core dieting friends to break her diet and eat a whole cookie (their cookies are very big)! The stuffed croissants and lunch muffins are very good too, I recommend warming both up, they taste better. All in all it's a great little bakery that you should just look for.

I'm a big fan of Ridley's. Was visiting Troy and hit this place up twice before leaving. Their cream cheese croissant (more of a danish if you ask me) was so sweet and yummy. They also have more savory breakfast items should you be in the mood for bacon or sausage. This place was the first to have coffee that didn't taste like it was old or burnt, A+! They have lots of muffin options as well as a low-fat muffin options. Not gonna lie though, I went for the full-fat regular ones :)

Think Panera except, local, larger and more interesting selection and the food is 2-3x better. The muffins live up to the their reputation - fresh, lots of interesting options and great tasting. Croissants are a little different - lots of filling compared to to croissant bread. The feta and spinach is excellent the meat filled ones have a little too much meat to bread - felt more like a sandwich than a croissant. The service is very good, feels like a family run operation (probably is) with thoughtful attentive service, better than the large chain delis / sandwich shops.

Three words to describe this place: Carb-lovers heaven! With a multifarious selection of sweet and savory muffins, bread, pastries, cookies, etc., one could carbo-load for a marathon by eating through the display cases. As soon as I walked through the door, I smelled the scent of fresh baked, doughy goods and couldn't believe my eyes when I even spotted homemade dog biscuits. The service- During a recent lunch date with some gal pals to break up the work day, we seemed to have had the same idea as everyone else in Troy at that moment. The interior and exterior tables were all practically full and it was extremely confusing as to where to even give my order. Some employees seemed to be writing down orders behind the display cases and others were taking orders at the cash registers. It would help to have a clearly delineated spot or a more organized line for customers during the rush. At any rate, we were still able to get our food quickly and grab an open table. The food- I LOVED all the choices and combo options for lunch meals. I went with the half-size of chicken Florentine in spinach-flavored lavash wrap (already made and in the display case) along with tomato Florentine soup and hot tea. The wrap was sooooooooooooooooo fresh and a great healthy/low-carb option, even though it was made earlier in the day. Filled with tons of crisp, bright veggies such as asparagus, olives, mushrooms, etc. and chunks of chicken - I only wished it was bigger. Even for a half-size, it was tiny. I finished it in a couple bites. As for the soup, the juicy chunks of tomato with sweet onion broth complemented the wrap well. (Beware of pasta shells though if you're watching the carb/cal count.) There were even numerous choices of tea bags (more than 10!). The cashier provided the cup so that I could fill it with hot water and steep my tea bag to my liking. I chose the black currant tea, extremely flavorful and unique. I wasn't a fan of the free sides that came with the meal - only because I didn't have any choice with them on the plate: I'm not a coleslaw lover and I would have preferred the mini-chocolate chip cookie for dessert (that another friend got) instead of the cinnamon bread chunk. In the end, I highly recommend this place over Panera or Corner Bakery for a quick and healthy lunch!

Decadent baked goods, amazing/extensive lunch options. Efficient staff, owner is frequently present. Also, GlutenFree options. I usually get the garden vegetable soup and a half a sandwich with a brownie or bran muffin for dessert. yum.

My mom taught me a bad habit. Every time I'm around Long Lake and Rochester Rd, I stop at Ridleys. Sometimes twice a day. For under $4 you get a huge, fresh, delicious muffin and a coffee. There are an entire case of choices. If you don't like muffins there are scones, cookies, etc. My recent win was a cherry cobbler oat bran muffin perfectly paired with a cup of hazelnut coffee. For lunch (which you can also grab during breakfast if you have a long day on the road) I usually get a wrap of many varieties that comes with a side of the daily salad (potato, coleslaw) and 1/4 of a cookie (just enough).

There is no good reason it's taken us 1.5 years to get here when we live less than a mile away and pass it on 85% of our trips away from home. I am ashamed it actually took an Entertainment Book coupon to get us in the door and try some of their food! Through construction, even! (They were very thankful, and commented that they appreciated us braving the construction!) We got two sandwiches and a coconut macaroon for take-out. We shared the Grilled Turkey Reuben and the Grilled Applewood Bacon & Cheese paninis. The reuben was okay, but would have benefited from a bigger dollop of 1000 Island dressing. The bacon and cheese panini will definitely be ordered again. Both came with a small side (tiny cup) of slaw and a tiny two-bite muffin (I imagine they change with the day--from what we guessed, we had banana chocolate chip). Both the slaw and the muffin were tasty. Hubby also got a coconut macaroon from the bakery. And wow. Just, wow. This is THE coconut macaroon we've been dying to find--and here it was, all the time, right down the damn street. And we've been trying them all over the city! GRRRR....but YAY since we found them and it's close to home. But GRRRR because it's too close to home and I anticipate stopping there too many times for a little coconut pick-me-up. As a bonus, hubby was also going to get a chocolate chip cookie, and it broke while she was getting it...so she just gave it to him. I guess maybe it helped we were there towards the end of the day! Another great thing about Ridley's? [From their website, verbatim:] "At the end of each day we pack our unsold muffins, scones, cookies, mini muffins & breads to donate to St. Vincent de Paul volunteers. They are then distributed around the southeast Detroit area to those who normally couldn't visit our Bakery Café. We start completely from scratch every single day to offer our valued customers only the freshest baked goods." Awesome! We will definitely be going back on a more regular basis after this experience, and I highly recommend you do the same.

My mom told me about this place. She loved her lunch muffin. She said it was so filling that she only ate half. Only ate half? My mother?! I had to see these muffins that my mom claimed are so filling and satisfying. I stopped in here before dropping my pooch off at the groomer's nearby. The space is really cute and welcoming. They had lots of yummy looking baked goods on display. Lots. I had to get the spinach and feta lunch muffin to see what my mom was raving about. They are jumbo-sized. They are priced accordingly too ($4.50 a pop). Are they worth it? Yes! You really can make a meal out of one, even one half! I took mine home and heated it up later for lunch. It was as good as Mom said. I bought her a bran muffin with raisins which was regular-sized, but very heavy. She liked it, but she still prefers Tim Horton's version. Even with all the road construction at this intersection Ridley's is worth the trip. I'll be back. Thanks Mom for your sage advice.

I'm very disappointed in myself that I didn't try Ridley's a long time ago. Unfortunately, slightly odd hours and the fact I rarely lunch on the weekends forced me never to enter. Plus, constant construction in the John R/Wattles area doesn't help matters either. I've really been missing out. Maybe I'm biased because I'm preggers, but the bakery section alone makes it worth the trip. Amazingly HUGE cookies in every variety (love the lemon), scones and muffins adorn the case and make me think I've died and gone to heaven. Everything is baked fresh daily and you can tell it has that homemade touch. I've tried the chicken salad, which was delish on marble rye. Chicken salad is NOT an easy thing to master, so I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome. I also had the roast beef/cheddar/horseradish on a Lavash wrap and that was wonderful as well. Each sandwich comes with a small side of coleslaw and the treat of the day, which just so happened to be a bite-size (and amazingly delish) brownie each time. Coke products on tap but they also have a great selection of teas, coffees and bottled drinks. Very reasonable prices too, considering the quality of food you receive. I was impressed. As Henry B. notes, there is a small amount of tables and no wi-fi, but if you go during an off-time, you will have no problem nabbing a spot. It's clean, decorated adorably (love the sunshine and tree painted on the wall) and just one of those homegrown places that make you feel like you're really supporting a local business. Don't let the construction blues get to you - give this place a try.

Should be the next Starbucks. I need one on every corner (and sometimes 2 per intersection where foot traffic mandates). The muffins drew me in to the magic of this Bakery Cafe. They are huge, moist, scrumptious and only $1.89. You will want to buy 3 and get one free. I swear you won't need to give away or freeze any. You'll eat all four within 48 hours of purchase - guaranteed. After coming here time and time again for the muffins, I finally tried a sandwich. Also amazingly delicious. Thick, fresh baked bread. Fresh, hardy meat. Cheese. Juicy vegetation. I now visit time and time again to choose from the array of sandwich options and stock up on those muffins! They also offer paninis, soups and salads which I have no doubt are also quality. The ingredients here are fresh and partnered with care. They serve coffee drinks, but the unsweetened black currant iced tea is where its at. If I felt the calling to own a food establishment, I'd be begging Ridley's to franchise their magic out to me. Alas, I am simply a consumer, so I will visit every chance I get!

Healthy food + good ingredients + decent pricing definitely leaves this yelper happy. :) They recently expanded the size of the seating area, so now there are plenty of areas to sit and enjoy a cup of soup or sandwich. :)

The three stars don't mean i don't like this place. We've been here about 3 or 4 times now, and have enjoyed it every time. I just haven't had anything extremely memorable or amazing. I guess this is more of a tentative 3.5 stars. The other day I had chicken chili. It was very good, perfect temperature, nice flavor. It just wasn't spicy at all, which I would've preferred. The fresh sqeezed orange juice is very good. The coffee is very good. I've had a couple different sandwiches (panini), which were both good. They are, i guess, first and foremost a bakery, and i've only had the muffins, which are delicious, while stopping in for a quick breakfast, and bread. I probably need to try some of their other baked goods to see how it affects the rating. Service is quick and friendly. We'll definitely be back from time to time when we are in the area. Right now it's a pain because rochester road is torn to pieces, so we are avoiding wattles and rochester altogether. You can still get in to Ridley's, you just have to plan accordingly.

I come here once a week for lunch and stop in on weekends when running errands. I love this place. Great food and good service and it's NOT a chain! Love giving my money to my neighbors who are keeping their money in the community... The bakery is amazing!

Went for lunch this week. Had the chicken caesar sandwich on sour dough bread because they ran out of the bread it ordinarily is served on. The chicken is real breast meat! Yeay! It was nicely grilled and was served with a small side of slaw. All in all a good choice. The disappointment came when I ordered cappuccino-it is served in a plasticized paper cup that does not allow the foam to merge with the expresso. It is virtually impossible to get good flavor from a plasticized cup. I saw small expresso ceramic cups but no cups for cappuccino. So, avoid the cappuccino until they have a proper cup to serve it in.

Wow, excellent deli. The Panini Grilled New Yorker was very tasty but the bacon seemed a bit lost and overwhelmed by the spread they put on it. The Grilled Chicken & Turkey Bacon Club was even better and was a perfect match for the 9-grain bread. The muffins were excellent without being oily. The cinnamon muffin had a sweet cluster of cinnamon and oats in the middle that was too rich for me to eat but the chocolate one was good. The bakery case was filled with a bunch of other things like chocolate scones and cherry chocolate chip cookies.

I eat at Ridley's for lunch once a week and have never been dissappointed. The salads are nice sized and made fresh, plus its all mixed greens and fresh fruit. The cookies and different breads are fantastic.

I'm only giving it a 4 star because I've never actually eaten here, I'm just reviewing based on service. After trying to decide with my long-distance sister what to send to our grieving family who had lost a father and grandfather, we decided on a gift basket of food to help them get through a long afternoon at the funeral home. We went back and forth on where to order and at around 6:30 p.m. on a Friday evening, I found Ridley's website. Everything looked delicious and reasonable, so I crossed my fingers that they'd still be opened (the website stated that they close at 6:00 p.m.) and called. Thankfully, I got someone and placed an order for the Goody Tray. She warned me that, due to my last minute order, it might not be delivered until later in the afternoon. I was desperate so I went ahead with the order. At 9:30 a.m. the next morning, I received a confirmation call that the platter had been delivered. Did I mention that delivery was free? Although I didn't get a chance to sample the "goodies", I heard nothing but rave reviews from those that did. Now, after reading the Yelp reviews, I must make it a point to try it out myself. Thank you Ridley's! Excellent service!

This is my favorite lunch spot hands down. The sandwiches are all incredible, the chicken salad is beyond scrumptious and the soups are AWESOME! They usually have about 8 selections for breads, 4 different soups and lots of other unique items like their lunch muffins. The cafe fare is definitely reasonably priced and you get a lot for your money. I get a sandwich and it comes with a cookie and a small side (like cole slaw or their fab potato salad) and it's enough for two lunches for me. Try their brownies. You will not be disappointed!

The bakery came to my attention via a recommendation from a recent tweetup [meeting of Twitter users]. The reason this was such a talkable business is they have paczkis in the muffin style. Had never seen or heard of those before. Baked not fried that is the difference as I was told and they are in muffin baking cups. The bakery is in a strip mall and has a huge assortment of baked goods in large display cases. They taste as good as they look. The paczkis were moist and had a wonderful sweetness without being over the top. The employees were friendly and willing to engage in a bit of conversation. The price was reasonable as well. [2 paczkis and 1 large coffee for less than $5] Considering that it is more than 20 miles from where I live it is a bit far to travel. If someone wants to meet there for baked goods and coffee I'll be there. It's worth the trip. What say you?

  • Henry B.

Heyo! I went here to meet up with fellow Yelpers David D. and Alpesh S. I had the cafe latte and ordered 2 of their custard filled paczki muffins. The paczki muffins are baked instead of fried like a normal paczki. This makes them healthier I guess. At least that's what I told myself when I wolfed one down. Tip #1: Don't come during lunchtime. It gets really busy. Tip #2: Don't come with more than 4 people. Most of the tables are made for 2. Tip #3: Don't bring a laptop to this joint. There's no wifi. I docked it a point for no wifi and slower than usual service. Not a bad place though.

Love this place! Granted, I always stick to my favorite: the Strawberry Chicken Salad Sandwich on Cherry Pecan bread. I love that they're family owned and been a part of the community for so long. Fresh baked daily. Absolutely delicious. Perfect place to grab lunch & go without feeling guilty!

This place is great!! I've been here a number of times for sandwiches, all of them have been fresh and great tasting (Greek, Chicken Pesto, Beef and Cheddar, Grilled Chicken Cesar, etc.). The best part is it comes with a small salad of the day and even a bit of a sweet treat! This place thinks of everything!! I have also enjoyed their stuffed croissants. I would totally give this place 5 stars, if it was just based on the food. But it can be a little confusing when there are a few customers at the same time, since there is no real place to line up to give your order. Also when a sandwich is made you need to wait for your name to be called and then reach over the high counter to get it and juggle balancing your bag/drink to get the sandwich in your bag. While this is totally minor and would never stop me from going here it is kind of annoying. Again, great food and haven't had a sandwich from here that I didn't LOVE!!!

I was looking for a place to meet an old friend and Yelp helped me out once again. And man, I had no idea this gem had been in SE Michigan for over 25 years. Got here at 11am and it was bustling. Large display case of sweet baked goods, than another case with savory - very important to this eater :) (ever notice that Asian bakeries will often have a few savory buns? Yeah) They also make sandwiches as well. I ordered an egg quiche with feta and spinach. I'll be the weirdo to say that I like how functional it was. Tasted good, but could also take it on the go and eat it with my hands if I needed to. I ate it there, though, and they served it with a tiny fruit cup and a bit of tea cake. Nice touches for a casual order at the counter kind of place. On the move, but friendly staff. Lots of small tables for twos and fours, and window counter seating. My friend enjoyed her vegetable stromboli which also had zucchini and cheese. She called it an inside out pizza. Overall, very pleased and will definitely recommend to others visitng this area.

Holy crap. This is WELL worth the not-too-far drive from Berkley for lunch. Like, as often as possible. You can pretty much order any lunch food you can imagine. (Breakfast foods too, but I'm especially impressed with lunchtime stuff here.) And every time you order a sandwich, it comes with a baked good of the day, which is a really nice touch and always delicious! I highly recommend everything. I've tried sandwiches, the breakfast wrap (berries granola in a wrap! yum), breakfast pastries, and muffins, and everything is just the best. I cannot rave enough about Ridley's. If you haven't been here yet, go now!

I was all psyched for chicken chili and then it was served as like...a solid? It was just meaty, tomatoey paste and it tasted kind of like Chef Boyardee made it. My salad was good though and they have a sizable gluten free treats section. Everything else in their giant baked goods/salads cases looked fresh and beautiful.

Can't believe I've lived in Troy for 4 years and haven't discovered this cute bakery! I imagined the place to be tiny, but they have a good amount of seating. I got the breakfast stuffed croissant, the garden vegetable lunch muffin, and the Gals cinnamon muffin. The stuffed croissant was to-die-for, and the garden vegetable muffin definitely hit the spot. The Gals cinnamon muffin (which is one of their most popular muffins) was stuffed with pecans and walnuts - YUM! It was a bit too sweet for my taste, but I imagine it would satisfy most people. Definitely going back to this place to try more!

The cookies and muffins are outstanding. Today I went for molasses cookies, they were out of this flavor, but the server offered to have a batch made within 1.5h. Outstanding service in my opinion, how many bakeries would do this?

The panini grilled New Yorker on ciabatta bread was pretty good the cinnamon bread that comes with it is also very tasty! The setting of the cafe if nice. I would say this is a great place to try.

This place is like Panera times 100. Fresh baked goods, fresh juices, amazing soups, salads and sandwiches. They have all of the typical muffins, cookies and scones but they also unique items like savory lunch muffins, quiches and stuffed croissants. They have unique flavor combinations in their muffin and cookie of the month offerings. With their variety of sandwich, soups and salads they are JUST as good for lunch as they are for breakfast. They even have healthy options like egg-white quiches and low fat soups. While we're on their soups I have to call them out on something. They call their chicken chili low-fat??? Seriously? There is NO way in the world something that delicious can be low-fat! LOL... The chicken chili is really really good. Has really deep flavors and there is nothing low-fat tasting about it. I've also had the creamy chicken and wild rice soup which was very good as well (but not as good as that chili). Awesome job Ridley's!

Bread was rather excellent and in a very good price. This would be my preferred location for any baked goods. Sugar cookies were fresh and well made, its a good way to measure the company's quality as those are stale or hardened quite everywhere else you go. I'm guessing that their products are never made of frozen dough and that's why they taste so well. If you have doubts about this place, I can assure you that you wont be disappointed

I hate to do it, but am pushing this place back to a 4 after my latest visit. I tried a stromboli, which looked fabulous, but it was flat out raw dough in the middle. I discretely went up to owner and advised him of the situation and he was properly apologetic, and offered me another item in replacement, which I declined. However, I was a little surprised that after I declined, he did not offer to refund my money. I walked away with the offending stromboli waiting for him to come by and take it away but he never did. So once there was no line at the register, I asked for a refund, which they did do. On a better note, i did have stuffed croissant, which was excellent as usual. This decrease is also due to my most recent visit to Portland, OR where I went to Grand Central Baking Company, which I feel does the same things that Ridley's does but on a higher level. Overall, i still love this place, but it is not a 5.

Woa. Whats wrong with me, why haven't I been eating here until now? That wonderful establishment doesn't need another review but man, go here. Fresh, amazing everthing. The bread is like a tasty pillow of your dreams. The sourdough- my God. I've had sourdough from a very famous place in San Francisco I thought was amazing. I can't believe I went all the way there when this place is in my backyard. The soup- delicious. Wild rice, creamy, chicken chunks any pot pie pines for. The sandwich, cradled in that sourdough. Amaz. Artichokes galore with a dollop of pesto freshness and chicken galore. The lemon poppyseed tea cake that was free with my meal? Sugar sprinkled Angels made it. The aroma was so alluring that as you ate it, your mouth watered. I can barely contain my joy. Then the giant chocolate cappuccino cookie. I mean get out. This meal was my lunch and dinner plus some. Tops my list of pure gluttonous enjoyment. Everything, gals and guys. Try it all. The muffins are going to be my next feast. The LUNCH muffins. I'm so happy....

I only grabbed a couple cookies while I was in the area so I need to try them again on a grander scale but their White Chocolate Lemon cookie was one of the better cookies I've had recently. Their Cappuccino (Mocha?) Chocolate Chip were pretty solid to but not as sweet as expected. Both of them were tender and just a little chewy around the edges which is just the way I love them. I should mention that they were both enormous too. Sadly, it looked as though I may have come a little late since their displays were pretty limited on sandwiches. I was hoping to grab a loaf of bread but they were out of a lot of their choices. When I'm in the vicinity again I'll drop in for a coffee, a wrap and a loaf of bread. That said the staff was friendly but a little awkward for some reason. I just need to give this place another try...for now they're pretty A-OK.

We have ordered from here before for work meetings and everything has always been good so I decided to stop in and grab lunch. First off I was instantly greeted with a smile and a hello. The lady asked if I had any questions and as I had already looked over the menu online I knew what I was planning on getting. I opted to get a Tuna Melt, cup of Chicken Chili and a Cinnamon Chip Scone. The Tuna Melt is by far one of the best I have ever had and the Chili was flavorful and low fat which is an added bonus. My Scone was very good too, but not as good as the ones I remember my Grandma making, but hey I am allowed to be biased when it comes to her. After eating here I probably will never go back to Panera Bread, but I still will partake in some Breakaway because let's face it, that place is awesome too. Ridley's though will for sure be in my top rotation for when to comes to Sandwich/Bakery places.

What a great out of mind out of body experience I had earlier today while dining on an awesome panini. U2's Sunday Bloody Sunday was playing softly in the background but loud enough to hear. Within 20 minutes, I got to experience the two best in their respective businesses.
