    I've heard mixed reviews about this restaurant but I made a reservation for my dad's birthday for 4 of us and we had a wonderful time. We were one of only 3 tables though so I'm not sure if we were getting such great service because of how slow it was or if this is how they always are. Our server was extremely attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. He answered all our questions efficiently and didn't make us feel like we were bothering him with all our questions :) Anyway they start off the meal with freshly baked onion bread and butter. It is crack!!! So fluffy and delicious. My dad got a really good salad I'm not sure what it's called but it had blue cheese,eggs, bacon, etc. Highly recommend that. My husband got a beet and goat cheese salad which was also great. My dad ordered the bone in ribeye (22 oz., $55) he loved it. My mom ordered the salmon ($28) which she loved also. My husband and I both got ribeyes (16 oz., $49) they were cooked perfectly and very tender. For the sides we shared parmesan truffle fries (good but left a funny taste in your mouth), bacon and onion mac and cheese (creamy and delicious), Brussels sprouts (cooked very nicely) and wild mushrooms (delicious variety of mushrooms and parmesan). They also gave my dad a free soufle for his birthday and took a really nice group photo of us that they printed and framed for us. With 3 glasses of wine we spent a little more than $300 with tip and it was a great experience. I'd highly recommend it for a nice or romantic night out. I took away one star because I feel like the wine is extremely overpriced.. $13 for a house cabarnet.. but still a great experience nonetheless :)

    Had the best service ever here! It was our first time at the restaurant on Thursday night and Jordan was our server. She did a awesome job!! She gave us great recommendations and made our experience wonderful!! Big shout out to her! Our food and drinks were amazing as well. I got the truffle butter on the side with my steak and it was to die for! Everything was so good. I will definitely be revisiting Morton's Steakhouse in Troy soon!

    Okay, I am going to share my vast knowledge of...happy hour at Morton's. Yes, they have happy hour and it is delish! Honestly, this is the only way I can afford to go there. From 4:45 p.m. (when they open) to 6:30 they offer drink specials and also food specials that are at least half off their regular prices such as wine, martinis, and those mini burgers. Then from 9:00 p.m. to closing they start up happy hour again. How cool is that?! Most places give you mini burgers on a bun, but not Morton's. They also give you lettuce, tomato and onion - class act. The chicken tenders are moist and just that; tender with a nice crisp to them and they give you a dipping sauce that is also delish. The service is impeccable not to mention they are truly friendly. Friendly waitstaff...now that's a big, BIG plus! Try happy hour but leave a table empty for us! In fact, I want to go RIGHT NOW!

    We went to Morton's for my husband's birthday. They knew it was his birthday so they added some nice touches such as custom menus with "Happy Birthday Chris!" on the top, confetti on the table, took a picture of us before dinner (we didn't even ask), and gave him a free dessert. Overall, it was a great experience with delicious food and wine! I only gave 4 stars though because some of the sides weren't as good as the rest of the food. Would still love to go again!

    This place is way over priced! We went for a birthday. Service was average at best. If I'm paying this kind of money I want great service! We actually requested a different server because ours was so bad. The new server was a little better not by much. The menu is very confusing.

    Food is good but way overpriced. I have been here about 3 times and the steak was good but not close to Ruth's Criss. Service was always great but I don't think I'd be willing to spend the amount of money that it requires to eat here.

    What can you say about Morton's...the food is always excellent and the service impeccable. I ate here last week with a client and it all lived up to its billing. I had the small NY Strip and it was outstanding as usual. Wines by the glass are expensive but it is Morton's after all. Excellent place to bring clients or for a celebration.

    Obviously Morton's is very expensive. However it is still my favorite of all the steak chains. I love the seafood sampler appetizer.

    Bathrooms were Nasty!!!The food was good but portions to big. The staff was super nice. The to large portions showed in the bathroom as the stalls were all nasty. It was obviously to much as some girl vomited in one and in another stall someone exploded. I went in mid meal and it ruined my appetite. The staff should check the bathroom more often.

    Service was good,presentation of cuts of beef for the day tableside was nice,appetizer loaf of bread served was delicous,Steak was good,not the best i've had but very close...overall a very good restaurant,but get ready to get your wallet out...a dinner for 2 with drinks and an appetizer will run you around 180.00-200.00 dollars...in my humble opinion Lellis on Opdyke is a better dining experience and a tad lighter on pocketbook..but nonetheless i will return to Mortons again and surely leave with a smile on my face

    The best steakhouse I have been to in the metro Detroit area! Go when they have the two for $100 dinner special. Cooked to order filet with a starch to split, amazing key lime pie.

    We were headed up to Troy to go to somerset and decided to stop at Mortons for some steak. Having eaten at the Mortons in Cincinnati I was expecting the same level of service. My expectations were surpassed. This Mortons brings out all of their steaks and a live lobster to the table to present them table side. The only advantage to this is that you understand what size steak you will be receiving. The service was impeccable. We were coming from over and hour away and when we arrived 30 minutes early they gave us a table and asked about our drive. The server was very knowledgeable and did a superb job. The salads were huge and the sides were delicious. The steak was cooked to perfection, however, it was nearly flavorless. Fortunately for Mortons they have good quality beef and the marbled fillet was juicy and tender enough for this to be overlooked. We ended with desert, which ended up being the highlight of the meal. My suggestion would be to split a steak and salad and splurge on dessert. Just let them know at the beginning of the meal because they take up to a half hour to make.

    The atmosphere in this place is good. Nice fine dining ambience and but we we're disappointed about the service and the food. My husband likes Ribeyes but was curious about their Porterhouse so the waitress talked him in to it - which by the way she was terrible! She was rushing us to decide what we wanted and spoke very fast we could hardly understand her. So my husband decided to order the Porterhouse and to our disappointment, the NY strip side of the steak was extremely chewy it was like eating rubber. We ordered the side of spinach cream and it too was terrible. We have heard good things about it from friends that's why we went here but our personal experience was very unfortunate. It is not worth the price.

    Good traditional steakhouse. Expensive. Good place to celebrate something...graduation, retirement, that sort of thing. Food was good. Just wasn't anything that stood out. Service is terrific. Our meal was 3 hours but it didn't seem that way. My son had the NY strip. He thought he had better. I had the short ribs. Pedestrian. Scallops that came with it were perfect. Go. Celebrate. Leave behind a car loan. It's all good.

    Excellent food and atmosphere for business meetings, special events, and special dinners. My experience with Morton's is with large business groups and business lunches. I've always had good meals here from world class steaks and wonderful Lobster Bisque. Each side dish I've had was excellent (vegetables, potatoes, etc.). The prices range is a little out of my league for weekly or even monthly personal dinner entertainment. But I would consider Morton's for a special dinner with the someone special. They also have private rooms for larger groups, events, and presentations. This meets the needs of both small, private meals and larger groups while inconveniencing neither.

    Normally out of my price range, but we had a gift card so we were going to splurge anyways. Yes. It is an expensive steakhouse with semi small portions for what you pay. However, everything was fantastic. My girlfriend and I ended up spending about $230 with cocktails, multiple apps, sides, and two surf and turfs. The steaks cut like butter and we the best cooked steaks I've ever had. No complaints about anything. Would I like to spend $3/oyster and $50 for a steak. No. But for a nice night out and a meal my girlfriend and I still talk about weeks later, it was worth it.

    Don't get me wrong, Morton's has really good meat. Very quality food and drinks. I really enjoyed our waiter who was knowledgeable about the menu and pleasant to talk to. I can't give them 5 stars because I felt a little confused. Obviously this place is better than your normal chain restaurant but there isn't a strict dress code. We came wearing dress attire but there were other people in the restaurant wearing jeans and flip flops. I would go back but probably not unless we were going with our parents.

    We went here for the first time on our Anniversary in August, service at the table wasn't great! I know that an odd number of something on a plate is suppose to look pleasing to the eye, but when there are two people sharing an appetizer put an even amount on, especially when 3 bacon wrapped scallops cost $17... the bar area was great. I wrote a review on Open Table, with whom I made the reservation and got an email from the GM. He offered free appetizer and dessert, well considering our meal out of 2 cost well over $200 it just wasn't worth it... So after not responding I go a phone call with the same offer, so I just ignored it. So finally the GM called a again and I answered, he asked me what it would take to get us to come back and give them another shot... I said to comp our meal (not including drinks) and he said yes. So I finally made a reservation in November for my husbands birthday. We had fantastic service, the food was great. My only complaint, the chocolate soufflé was over done and more like cake... but that would be it. For a special night out, I would give them another shot. It's intimate and they take a picture of you at the table for your special occasion to take home which I appreciated! The GM came over multiple times to check on us and I thought that was fantastic. While watching what was going on around the dining room I need to mention, the GM and managers pitched in a hand where needed, from delivering food to tables to helping the bus boys, now that was impressive!!

    While I don't feel Bison's review "Eww, Surf And Turf... No Thanks. I'll Leave My Bib At Home" does Morton's complete justice, I do agree with some of the author's key points. Morton's food, when compared to other similar chain steakhouses is above average, however the atmosphere is terrible. Most patrons were around 95 years old. The decor is from the 1950's (and not in a good way). The wait staff was adequate, but not above average. Given the choices in the area (Capital Grille, Ocean Prime, Big Rock) there is really no reason to go to Morton's here, and I cannot see myself ever going here again, and will in fact, be leaving my bib at home.

    I called for reservations and reserved a spot and everything but when i went into the place they tried to sit me at a table and i told them no i wanted a booth. They said well you can't have a booth we can only sit you at a table you will have to make reservations for the booth. I told the host that i did have reservations and i will refuse to sit at a table. Long story short i walked out and didn't get a booth the host DIDN'T EVEN CARE AT ALL NOT EVEN A LITTLE BIT! Went back to this place agin and was treated a little better ! They only get one extra star from me !

    the food and service are both just ok-service is a little slow and steak was not cooked to medium rare, it was more like medium. the side of brussel sprouts were also undercooked (good steakhouses usually cook it to a fine and crisp golden brown). the limited edition crepe dessert was also not too good as the crepes tasted stale and cold.

    Ok. Let me first say that Morton's would normally get 5 stars. We are frequent guests of this restaurant (Michelle is very attentive and pleasant) as the food is some of the best in Troy. However, tonight was a different story... We had a 5pm reservation so the restaurant was just opening. We sat at the bar until our table was ready. The bartender was not attentive at all and he never asked for out order. The waiter was nonchalant and never reviewed the menu (at the table next to us, the waitress reviewed the ENTIRE menu to her guests). Both filets were severely under cooked as was the baked potato. One of the steaks and the potato were sent back to finish cooking. The spinach and mushroom side dish is more mushroom than spinach. I'm am usually always happy after eating here, so hopefully I can leave a much more positive review soon.

    I wish I could give negative stars because this is exactly what this place deserves. I had a reservation and arrived a couple of minutes early. The hostess pretty much tried to force us to go to the bar for a drink, even though I don't drink alcohol. We reluctantly went to the bar area since there wasn't another place for us to wait. My girlfriend and I waited for about 10 minutes to get seated, a bit annoying given that reservations are strongly suggested, yet not the end of the world. The review gets 1 star because our last interaction with meaningful restaurant personnel was when we were seated. Yes, the water guys and the bread guy were very courteous and made sure our water was filled, but we kept waiting for our waiter (or waitress) to show up. Nothing happened after half an hour, even though people that arrived after us had already been greeted by their server and even got their drinks. At that point I couldn't take the situation any longer and decided to leave. The worst part was hostess saw us leave and didn't even say a word. She seemed more interested in taking pictures of other parties throughout the restaurant in hopes that they would buy them = my guess is nobody buys those anyways. Somebody from the restaurant called me to offer apologies, but the damage was already done and I won't even dare step foot in that place even if offered a free meal. Why would I pick up the phone when nobody acknowledged me when they had a chance? I was already having dinner somewhere else and didn't feel that I had to interrupt my meal. I already had a bad experience with a Morton's in Boston and I'm starting to think that this restaurant chain has serious problems. As for me, I'm officially a Ruth's Chris customer.

    Tender delicious steaks!!! Mouthwatering and cooked with care and attention to the cut and it's needs in order to be perfect !!! The wine selection is vast and can complement anything you are in the mood for! The bar tender (whose name I unfortunately can't recall) was charming and accommodating to things we requested that he was not exactly familiar with making. Share the sides!they are huge

    Best steakhouse I have ever been to!!! My boyfriend and I ordered NY strip steaks along with a decent sized side dish (corn). The steaks were just perfect (seasoning, temp., etc.) and the corn was really good too. The prices are high, but worth it for the quality and service you're getting. The service alone was outstanding.

    First time diner here and I have to say they really go the extra mile to ensure an enjoyable dining experience. I had a gift card for a considerable amount so I figured how often do we get the chance to come here? What the heck. Service was excellent and food was really good as well. I wasn't super impressed with the Baked Five Onion Soup but it was still alright. I ordered the mixed grill with the 6oz filet, 2 bacon wrapped scallops with 3 baked, butterflied shrimp. With my filet I had the bernaise (sp?) sauce. Yummy and rich. Steak was really tender and cooked just right. The wine list is the biggest and most wonderful MENU of wine I have ever seen. Although the wine by the glass list is much shorter its a menu a true wino lives for. Morton's is a very posh and intimate place. If we come here again I'm definitely ordering one of the baked to order desserts! Some sort of upside down apple, ice cream, Carmel concoction that I'll dream about. Til next time, Morton's and I thank you. :)

    Ho-ly Smokes!!! Ok, so yes I am an avid review reader before I go out to experience a new restaurant; Morton's (at that time) had a 5/5 rating and since it was the hubs birthday... I decided.. WHAT THE HECK let's splurge because he's worth it. Let's start from the beginning... I called the Steakhouse a week before our arrival and requested a BOOTH for ample space, and also requested the special birthday dessert for my hubs... to my surprise... NO BOOTH. Instead, we were sat at this very small table (which looked like it could be transformed into a cart which food is served from) by these SNOBBY people whom talked about how much they sold their house for, and how many vacation homes they owned...yada yada yada... The presentation done by the waiter showing the specials for the night, the cut of beef they serve, the veggies, and the seafood selections was surpurb.. but a bit over the top. The app: We shared the bacon wrapped scallops ($21 for three) The meal: (Husband) New York strip with an Idaho Baked potato and broccoli ($80.00 all together) (for me) Sea Bass with garlic whipped potatos ($45.00 all together)... plus a cocktail a piece valued at $11.00 a piece, brought our bill to $168.00 plus tip for our waiter ($25.00) and a tip for valet (another $10.00). The food was o-k. I am not sure if it was worht $200.00. I gave this restaurant three star's because it is by far the priciest, and the food is not that great; as there are other restaurants in the area which serves almost the exact same thing but a little cheaper in price. I do not think we will visit Morton's again.

    Steak...good, appetiser... meh, dessert...meh.., customer service...no good. Honestly, I was so disappointed. I saw so many people gave them 5stars for this restaurant, so I was so excited til I got to the restaurant. I had a reservation, but one of my friend was late, so the hostess told me that I should wait. I waited 45minutes without a chair even though I had a reservation. I'm not kidding it was 45minutes!!!I don't understand even if my friend was late, they were supposed to take me to a table because I made a reservation!!! I was getting thirsty and tired. People who didn't have reservation went to the table faster than me. It was so annoying! I complained to the hostess, but she seemed she didn't care anything.(If the hostess explained or apologized that situation, I felt better than I had.) They should know we're paying for their food and also their SERVICE!! I like The Capital Grille much better than this restaurant. They don't treat like this restaurant, and a decent price!

    Really? I'm the first Yelper to review MORTON'S STEAKHOUSE? Wow. Well, we have always wanted to try Morton's, and since we live practically within spitting distance, now was the time (before we get relocated who knows where). We also wanted to compare it to The Capital Grille, another local steakhouse, which we visited last year about this time ( yelp.com/biz/the-capital… ). The result? It was close, but I would give the slight edge to The Capital Grille. But only because of a few microscopic things (okay, maybe more than microscopic). Read on. The complimentary valet parking was nice, quick, and easy. We were early for our reservation but they seated us immediately (although they did ask if we wanted to start with a drink at the bar--but we were there early enough that there were plenty of tables ready). The real test for me, however, was going to be when we showed our waiter the coupon we had--a special three course for $99 deal. Some waiters will quietly scoff at you or treat you a little differently when they realize you're a "discount" customer, but not here. Not with Jeff. Jeff was WONDERFUL. He joked with us, said we were getting a great deal, and then still proceeded to give us the "real menu" spiel...which was a good thing for him because of course we each decided to upgrade our entree selection. The drink list on the table also suckered me in with a Heavenly Strawberry Mint Margarita. (I would skip it if I were you--it just wasn't worth the money.) The service was impeccable--drinks were kept filled, plates were whisked away, and crumbs were brushed off the table with regularity. The courses came out at decent intervals, although I would have preferred to get our seafood sides (technically part of our second course, but actually appetizers from the "real" menu) ahead of time instead of on our dinner plates, if only to space out the food a bit more. But hubby's crab cake was, according to him, the best he's ever had--and my bacon-wrapped scallops were quite tasty, too. Our steaks--my medium rare double filet and his rare ribeye--were both cooked to perfection, and I especially loved my Bearnaise side, although it did seem to cool a bit quickly for my liking (which means it didn't run smoothly out of the small silver serving boat). The portions were, of course, HUGE. Enough for a family of four, honestly. The steamed broccoli side was two huge heads. I'm not a huge broccoli fan, but it was cooked well, albeit not seasoned enough for me (more salt and pepper would have been great) but the hollandaise was a nice addition. And the hashbrowns (which came recommended to me by a friend) looked amazing--especially with the tableside addition of butter, sour cream, and bacon--except that either the potatoes weren't hot and/or the butter was too cold, so that the butter didn't melt AT ALL on the hashbrowns, which I think was a big loss. They were still yummy, but would have definitely benefited from some melted butter. For dessert, I opted for the Hot Chocolate Cake (think lava cake) and oh wow, was it decadent. There was no way I could even think about finishing it, so hubby helped me after he finished his Creme Brulee. From start to finish the food was very good and the service was incomparable...it's just the little missteps here and there (the timing or plating of the one course, lukewarm hashbrowns and/or cold butter) that are bringing down the rating. (Honestly, had we not been to The Capital Grille and had a perfect meal, I probably would have rated this experience as five stars.) And we were almost rubbing elbows with a senator (not to be named, although we did see his personal wine locker) seated behind us. Let's just say we got to see how REALLY important people are treated... and honestly, other than a bit more chit chat with the employees and attention from the woman in charge of [at least] the wine lockers) we were treated the exact same way. I think that says something about the quality of service. Lastly, I know steak places are mostly all like this, but give me a little less food at a little less price and I would be so much happier. I feel bad if I don't eat everything as it's served (because you KNOW it won't be nearly as good warmed up at home) but it is just SO much food--even with just our three courses--that it almost seems a waste. But we're glad we went, and now we just have to complete the trifecta with a meal at Ruth's Chris. Maybe we'll run into a governor or the president.

    Ok i am a very picky eater, or rather i just have very high standards... If u r not familiar with mortons menu, u can get a bit lost, or just read this review. As far as appetizers go the chilled lump crab is amazing, so fresh and the taste is amazing, u cant even get better crab from the best local seafood restaurants like ocean prime... That also goes for the tuna tower, with avocado and diced tomatoes and some wonton crunchies in there... AMAZING. Other apps r great too, my brother likes the shrimp alexander and my mom always gets the crab cakes, but i will get too full if i order more than 2 appetizers!!! The lobster bisque soup is unreal, it actually has a large amount of fresh lobster in there and unlike many other places this bisque is not too creamy and thick, it actually tastes like lobster. Moving on the the main entrees, i usually always go for the center cut filet, which is offered as 6, 8 or 10 oz portions, and always great and prepared to perfection. But recently one of our favorite waitresses karen suggested i try to cajun ribeye. I have been going to mortons for about 20 years, and for the first time ever i had something different, and i cant believe i waited so long! The cajun ribeye was flavored to perfection, not too overwhelming but just the right amount of spice and flavor. I was really worried about it not being tender since i am an avid filet eater, but really, it was only very slightly less tender, and probly more tender than other restaurants prime filet!! As far as sides go, u have to order the hash browns, they still serve it if its not listed on the menu. Also both kinds of jumbo asparagus are awesome, never over cooked. The truffle fries r great, and so r the mashed potatoes... Really everything... The lava cake is a must, but order it with dinner cuz it takes a long time to make. Their after dinner drinks r great too. As i read through some of the other reviews i was really surprised because i eat at mortons quite often, and especially since they completed their move to troy, the food has been consistently outstanding. I even recommend to friends who call me later to tell me how great it is. Im not sure if maybe the other reviewers just ordered maybe a mediocre appetizer and let that cast a shadow over their entire meal, but lets remember this is a steakhouse so go there thinking to eat meat... Unless u take my word for it and eat what i recommend... I promise u wont be dissapointed!!!! Happy eating!!

    Overall, I think I have to give Mortons a 4/5. Let me quickly break down that rating: -Service, atmosphere, ambiance, wait staff: 5/5 -Entree, appetizer, side dishes: 3/5 -Desserts: 5/5 Mortons was definitely a great experience and I would probably go back, but the food was not as good as I expected. For the price that you pay (meal for two will average around 150$), I expected one of the best meals of my life. Disappointingly, that was not the case. We got the 2 for 109$ deal, and therefore we were able to try a variety of different items off of the menu. We started with our respective salads: Caesar and Chop. They were normal/good salads as far as salads go. So far, par for the course. Then when the meal came, they serve you the appetizer/entree/side dishes all at once, so be prepared for a lot of food. Our layout was as follows: -Appetizers: breaded shrimp & bacon wrapped scallops (3.5/5 - the breaded shrimp was good but the bacon wrapped scallops were too salty for me) -Entree: Filet Mignon (3/5 - I had really high expectations for this steak as the presentation before the meal made it sound so good, whereas it was just average....and mine was actually a little charred on top) -Side dishes: brussel sprouts & mashed potatoes (3/5 - the brussel sprouts being served with bacon didn't seem like a good combo to me, it was too salty. Mixing it with a Balsamic seemed like a more obvious pairing. The mashed potatoes were fine, its hard to have a bad mashed potato.) -Dessert: creme brulee & chocolate cake/ice cream sundae (5/5 - I personally thought the desserts were awesome, not much more to say about them. Give them a try!) Mortons is a great experience overall, but I was a little surprised by the lack of flavor in much of the main course.

    My only experience at Morton's was for a company Christmas Party. There were only about 25 of us there, but the room they gave us was too small, which is odd, because we had reserved for more guests than we ended up with. I arrived slightly late, and was simply pointed in the general direction of the room, luckily it was easy to find. Our waitress was quick to get my boyfriend and I a drink menu, but it took about 20 minutes after ordering to get a martini. That became a trend, and it didn't take long for everyone to start ordering another drink every time the waitress came around (which became less and less frequent) in hopes that a new one would arrive without waiting empty handed for a long time. For appetizers, we had a self-serve seafood spread at the front of the room. It was all good, but plain if you ask me. There was no creativity. Just shrimp with cocktail sauce, lobster with butter, etc. The presentation of the different cuts of meat was over the top in my opinion. The waitress looked like she was doing her best Vanna White impression, and seemed disappointed that we weren't as enthusiastic as she was. Also, it took way too long for her to get through it, repeating herself multiple times, and actually going over the same cuts more than once. The baked onion soup was very good, but nothing spectacular. For dinner, I ordered salmon (I know, I know.... seafood in a steakhouse, what is wrong with me?). Our table chose to order side dishes as a group, since we had been warned about the enourmous portion sizes. THEY WEREN'T KIDDING! Everything is huge! We got a couple of baked potatoes, grilled asparagus, and mashed potatoes. There was a very noticable lack of variety on the menu. Dinner was, once again, very good, but not spectacular. The balsamic on the asparagus was awesome, but that is honestly what stands out in my mind as a highlight of the meal, which is sad. Overall, I have nothing bad to say about the food. The menu could stand to be expanded and have some variety added, but the food they do make is very good. I guess I just expected more for the cost, and better service. If I had been paying, I may have been much less impressed than I was.

    We had dinner on Saturday, February 8, 2014. We arrived early to sit at the bar, around 6:15pm. The host took our coats and was very friendly. We sat at the bar (which was not busy) and we were not greeted. Once the bartender was finally finished with the service bar he came over. He wasn't very friendly and kind of did that I'm walking by but will grab your order type of thing. Just not the service you expect at this caliber of a restaurant. We had 2 drinks and the crab cake appetizer. It was excellent. We moved to our table and once again, the host was great. We ordered steaks, fries,mushrooms, beer and Morton's chocolate cake. All the food was great and the beer was ice cold. I love the loaf of onion bread they leave on your table with whipped butter. The waiter did a good job, except for bussing the table. Numerous times we sat with dirty plates on the table. Literally at one point we had a stack of dishes piled up. That is just not what I expect from a top restaurant.

    The food was delicious, I had the Fillet Oscar and loved it. Just be aware of the up sells, they almost insisted we ordered dessert before we ate (or before we were full). The waitress was slow at refills, overall good service, except when she thanked us and said her children thanked us too. (You wouldn't think she would try to quilt us into a better tip with our bill being over $900.00). Tables are to close together my chair was knocked 5 times but the bathrooms were clean.

    Off the bat I will say I was shocked to see that Morton's had a 5/5 rating. I've never really heard the best things about it. It is interesting that there are only 4 reviews though, anyways I digress. My take on Morton's is as follows...3.5/5 The Pros: Bread, Portions, Service The Shortcomings: Prices, Taste, Creativity (notes: note everything tasted bad, not all portions were heaping, and not all prices were high, but those are generalities across the entire meal) It goes like this...Morton's start you off with a nice onion loaf which I find to be pretty tasty. Looking at the menu I found it to be a bit plain and traditional. Looking at the appetizers, I'm always a bit surprised that they are basically all seafood. I understand it's a steakhouse and you may not want to double up on your meat, but it seems like even the seafood apps are a bit blase. I went with the crab cake, continuing my crab cake kick (say that 3 times fast). I will say this, it surely had the biggest and most hearty serving of lump crab I've had in a crab cake. However, that is probably why you only get 1 and not 2. As far as my steak went, double cut Filet, it was what I want in a Filet. It was a solid 3 inches thick at least and cooked perfectly medium rare. I will say that the Bearnaise sauce was average at best. I'm not an expert but I chose to not have the sauce drizzled on my steak by the waiter, and half way through it had completely hardened in the "gravy boat." Maybe this is typical and was my fault for letting it sit but it basically rendered it useless half way through. In the end I felt like it was somewhat blah. There wasn't a savory corner on the plate of blood and juices emerging from the steak for me to dip in or a perfectly seasoned sear on the outside that came through in every bite. For sides we went with the broccoli and onion rings. Both were top notch. The broccoli is some of the best you will find and goes great with the hollandaise sauce (plus it's really good for you). The onion rings were the bomb. Getting rings at a place like Morton's makes me never want to get them at some low rate restaurant or fast food place ever again. They were free of grease, perfectly crispy, and the Thai cream sauce gave them a good kick. For dessert I went light with the strawberry and raspberry assortment. Nothing to report here, they were fresh and delicious. The last pro was the service. I thought our waiter was on top of things and I liked the helpers making their way around each section refilling water and clearing plates almost immediately. I HATE when I got to a classy place and and looking around for someone to refill my water. The biggest shortcomings I think are the prices. Full disclosure I went with my parents so I wasn't footing the bill, and they had a gift card they received over the Christmas holiday so I'm not sure what the final tally came out to be. I can say this though, if I am going to take my special lady out for a nice meal it won't be to Morton's. I would much rather spend my money at Capital Grille, Flemming's, Cameron's or Ruth's Chris for a high end steak/meal. If I were to come back to Morton's I would have to be for one of their promotions (2 for $100) or special offers. Even then I would be weary that the portions would suffer and I wouldn't really be getting a deal at all. Maybe I will have to check out their happy hour. It looks like if you sit in the bar you can get drinks and off menu apps for a decent price. Overall, solid meal, but a little overpriced in my mind.

    I went to Morton's for the first time on NYE. I left unimpressed. Our server initially was excellent but took way to long to get drinks from the bar. I'm talking about over 15 minutes for each bottled beverage. First off, the bread was excellent and our water glasses were always full. We decided to get the lobster cocktail appetizer, which was alright but contained too much claw meat. Our sides, mushrooms and horseradish mashed potatoes were the best part of the the meal. The button mushrooms were perfectly cooked and not at all soggy or spongy. The horseradish mashed potatoes were very strong but I am a horseradish lover, so I thought it was great. The worst part of the steakhouse? The steak. I had the cajun ribeye which was fatty (obviously was not properly roasted), overcooked, and poorly seasoned. My guest had the filet which was just average. If you want good steak in the area go to Ruth Chris'. The damage? Over $200 for a meal worth a fraction of that on taste and quality.

    LOVE LOVE LOVE!! From the large, succulent steaks, to the amazing oysters Rockefeller, this place was unreal! I am from Chicagoland, and wanted a large steak like I would get in Chicago, so this place surpassed any expectations!! I recommend this formal, romanti place to anyone that wants to have a very nice evening.

    The restaurante atmosphere is nice. It has that stuffy feeling of weathly people flaunting their money. My wife and I came for our anniversary and felt looked down on because we weren't dressed in ultra high class. The food was okay, defiantly let down on the quality for the price. Way over priced for what you get. If you want a good steak I can name plenty of other much less expensive places. Overall it's a decent restaurante. Not sure if I'll ever go back though

    My husband and I have frequented Morton's ever since we were "my boyfriend and I." Morton's is solidified in my mind as the place where we break bread in celebration. We've celebrated each others' birthdays at Morton's; we celebrated our engagement at Morton's; we dined at Morton's after we said, "I do." And each time, we were very warmly received, well catered to and had personalized, printed menus waiting for us at our table. That is just great service. But the service alone isn't my reason for giving Morton's my rarely-designated "5-star Food Snob Stamp of Approval." For that, you have to knock it out the park with service and taste, and Morton's never disappoints. Naturally, they are best known for their steaks, so there is no wrong choice in this regard, but one of my personal favorites on the menu is their braised short ribs. The meat holds together beautifully until you touch it with your fork and it all falls to pieces. So tender. So flavorful. So good. Their fish is pretty delicious as well, but I don't bother with fish at a steakhouse. I go straight to the ribeye. Blackened. And though I never can, I always tell myself to try to save room for the key lime pie. 3rd best I've tasted outside of Key West and Atlanta.

    Mortons is a decent steak house. Don't get me wrong, I like it. There are other better steak houses that offer slightly less expensive (if only by a few dollars) steaks, sides, and options. Our meal was good. Steaks cooked well. Brought my mom for lobster dinner. Lobsters cooked well. $200 meal for 3 should have more pizzaz. Others seem to love this place. I'll go across the street.

    Came here last night for troys restaurant week and couldn't be more impressed with this place! I've been to many upscale steakhouses but I'm going to have to say that Morton's is my new favorite! The ambiance was perfect, food was luscious, and service was great! Our waiter, victor was awesome. He paired our meals with perfect wines and was fun to chat with. The food was great! The onion roll they serve is indeed addictive but nothing was better than their tuna tower! It had mango, avocado, jalapeño, and tuna along with something crunchy as the base. Not sure what it was. It was rather spicy so bare that in mind if you're not into spicy things. We both ordered the jumbo shrimp stuffed with crab. You get five perfectly stuffed enormous shrimps generously stuffed with a crab cake like filling and a side of a creamy pasta that is to die for! As a side, I got the creamed corn. Let me just say I could have honestly ate the corn alone as a meal and would have been perfectly content! Amazing! And lastly, dessert! I ordered the chocolate mousse and he got the keylime cheesecake! Both of which were amazing. It had a layer of keylime curd between the crust and cheesecake and had a great flavor. All of that for $40 a person! It was such an awesome deal! As you can see, one word I keep using to describe everything is amazing - it was just that! From service to food I would HIGHLY recommend trying this place out!

    Go here if you're in the mood for bad food and worse service. Went here for a private event. After the conclusion of the event, I decided to have a drink or two at the bar. Waited 15 minutes for someone to come by and even ask if I wanted anything, bad as that may sound, it was made even worse by the fact that the place wasn't busy. Finished my first drink and waited another 10-15 minutes for someone to bring the second. I had to actually call someone over and ask for a refill before anyone noticed that I was just sitting there waiting. Oh, and the food, inedible. I can't say that I've ever had more disgusting food at an upscale chain restaurant. Had some tenderloin sliders, the tenderloin was not quality meat and the bun was something you could get from the dollar store. Also had burger sliders, and those were worse. Their only saving grace was the carrot cake which is quite good, perhaps they order it from a supplier? Regardless, if you have the cash to pay for Morton's there are definitely better options in the area.

    I went here yesterday for the Restaurant Week gimmick. My wife got the Honey-Chili Glazed Salmon and I got the Filet. Both were delicious. The potato side dishes were good. We got Key Lime Pie and Cheesecake as our desserts. The Key Lime Pie was very flavorful and the cheesecake may have been the best I ever had. This is an expensive restaurant, albiet a good one. The environment was upscale, the service was fantastic. I will note that there is a push to upcharge customers with add-ons. Look, when you walk into a Wendy's, you expect the person at the counter to ask if you want a biggie size. This is a top notch restaurant, let's scale down the sales pitches, and it would be perfect. Other than that (and it wasn't over-the-top), I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

    5/5 stars for service, but 3/5 stars for the food. Went here today for Troy Restaurant Week, I had never been and always wanted to try it. $35/pp 3-course menu. THE GOOD: -The ambiance was great, as was the waitservice. My water glass was never empty, and our waitress was very friendly. -Dinner was leisurely, but not SO leisurely as we were waiting forever for our food. I think we sat down around 6:10pm and left around 8pm. -6 oz. filet mignon steak was delicious, as was the double chocolate mousse for dessert. -THAT ONION ROLL. So good. It comes out hot and fresh, and with a lovely-served butter design. I could eat that all day. THE MEH: -When I walked in, my friend wasn't there yet - I was offered a seat at the bar. I really just wanted to get my table, but didn't want to be rude, so I went and sat over at the bar. -Upselling. I can see being like "would you like a cocktail, how about a [insert drinks here]?" type pitch but we were also asked if we wanted coffee/etc (before dessert) and given like a 3-minute shpiel on the Morton's club you could join ($25 to join but you get a $25 voucher for joining, etc.). Some people might like this (being asked if they want more stuff) but I dislike it. -I had the mashed potatoes as a side, my friend got the broccoli with Panko breadcrumbs and cheese. Both were just okay. I'm a pretty harsh judge of mashed potatoes but I thought the broccoli was just okay too. THE BAD: -For the appetizer, I ordered the house salad. The waitress asked if I wanted the bleu cheese, egg, and anchovies, and I said no, none of those. "So just lettuce?" she asked. I assumed she meant some other standard stuff too (other cheese? tomato? veggies?) so I said yes. Turns out she was correct - it was literally JUST LETTUCE, with some dressing, and I had her add pepper as well. I realize now I probably could have asked for a cheese substitute ... but still, just lettuce?! My friend ordered the caesar salad but I don't like caesar, and the other options were an ahi tuna stack (I don't eat seafood) or baked five onion soup ... perhaps I should have opted for the soup. Overall, I'm glad I got to try Morton's out - you can't beat $35 for a 3-course meal, especially since I saw on the menu that our dessert was normally $13.50, and all the steaks/sides are normally a la carte. However, I kind of wish I tried out Ruth's Chris or a different place ... although I LOVED the ambiance here, the food (other than the steak + the dessert) was just "okay" overall. I may come back for their happy hour at some point (bar only, I believe) but it's not a place I will rush back to. Parking is also valet-only (complimentary) but I am not a huge fan of valet so I parked over near Melting Pot and walked over (about a 1 min. walk).

    My first time here but won't be the last. Beautiful and tastefully decorated. Elegant yet cozy , warm and inviting. The service was excellent and timely with all courses served rite on! Our apps. were so delish. Crab croquettes, seared scallops and a canape bruschetta on points. Next a fresh, crunchy Caesar salad with shaved nutty parmesan cheese. My filet mignon was so full of flavor and only chocolate could melt in your mouth quicker LOL. It was the most tender filet I've ever eaten. Potatoes were served family style. A beurre blanc sauce was offered as an accompaniment to the asparagus spears. Topping off this unbelievable meal was the chocolate mousse adorned with mint and raspberries. Oh, yes,we will be back !!

    Had dinner in the bar before a night out. Exceptional food and service. The Prime Rib Burger was great. French Onion Soup was fantastic but most of all the wait staff made our trip a lot of fun. Outstanding service and interaction. Coming back for Million Dollar Burger in two weeks. This place holds up to its name.

    Well this was my first trip back to Morton's Steakhouse in about 10 years and it is still as good as I remember it being. I was with my father and step mother and it was their first time being there. The setting and atmosphere is how I like my steakhouse's to be but it was a little noisy. We had for a appetizer the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake which was probably the best I have ever had. My only issue and it isn't a big one is that it was a little on the small side but it was full of crab hardly any filler. For dinner I had Five Peppercorn Rubbed Prime Strip Steak which was beyond tender but I probably wouldn't order again because it was almost to much pepper and I love black pepper but I did finish the entire steak. My oter guest both had a filet with shrimp and scallops which they both loved. We all shared the Creamed Corn which had ham in it which was incredible and we also had Garlic Mashed Potatoes which I was kinda so so about. All and all it was a really good dinner but the price of $61 dollars for a 16oz steak, small crab cakes, above averaged garlic mashed and a noisy restaurant I had to give it 4 stars instead of 5.

    Food: The food is excellent here. The appetizers, entrees, desserts, and cocktails are all excellent. The cocktail menu is quite varied and provides many, many choices. Rating: 5 stars Service: The service is very personal and excellent. The staff goes above and beyond what is expected and they make you feel special. My wife and I celebrated an anniversary here and our menu was personalized and we also received a hard copy photo placed inside a nice folder. Rating: 5 stars Atmosphere: The tables and booths are spaced apart for privacy. The atmosphere is warm, comfortable, and inviting. Rating: 5 stars Location: The location is convenient and close to an upscale shopping mall. It is inside an office building, so it is not a standalone building. Rating: 5 stars

    I was very disappointed in the level of service at Morton Steakhouse The level of service and attitude of everyone from the maître d down to the bus boys was poor and below average, it was so bad that I will never go there again. First off I had a 6:30pm reservation for 5 people that was confirmed that day, and when we arrived the hostess said our reservation was for 4 people and we would have to wait for a table since we had 5 not 4. So I patiently waited and waited and after waiting for 50 minutes and asking several times about our table we were finally seated you would think someone would apologize or bought me a drink and appetizer or something. Well after ordering or appetizers and enjoying them it took 15 mins or more for the bus boy to clear the table and not the mention the simple request of asking for my water glass to get filled it never happened. Bad Bad Bad I don't know what happen to Morton's it use to be one of the fine White Table Cloth resturants in the country but looks like it has turned in to Denny's. Jahmal Dokes

    Restaurant atmosphere has taken a slight downturn since new owners. Maitre d' is NOT wearing a tux anymore which seemingly bleeds over to the other clientele?? Almost everyone was wearing something slightly less than business casual. I say almost because there were at least two tables where the people were wearing 'fashionable' ripped jeans - really?? Maybe the new owners don't own suits?? It would be a LOT of fun to have a quarterly MUST DRESS UP night here. At least then we could once in a while get back to the way the place used to be?? Food = fabulous; staff = attentive and friendly, Overall experience was very good. We had a server named Stacie. She made the night that much more enjoyable. She was knowledgeable, ever-present but not annoying, never seemingly rushed and had a wonderful personality. I'll be back; I'm asking for Stacie when I return.

    Loved my meal here. The attentive wait staff, the attention to detail. It was great. The server was very friendly and made an effort to not only work with our requests but to inform us on what we'd like more. The bill was expensive, but we definably made a night of it. Loved the experience and will go back soon.

    Actually, 2.5 stars. Way over-priced, under-tasty food. I ordered a 24 oz porterhouse because I was starving, and I am positive it was at MOST 14-16 ounces. And it was $54 not including any sides or salads, and it didn't taste like anything special. I've had better tasting steaks at Texas Roadhouse, and that's saying something. Just zero flavor, clearly frozen cryovac meat. The house salad I ordered was excellent though, and worth the $14 it cost. Oh, the mandatory valet parking is really stupid too. Stay away from this place unless you are one of those people who could care less about how tasty your food is, but you do care about how "rich" you look to everybody else, spending $100/person ish for a meal.

    Awesome awesome food. Pretty good service. They are really on the ball there about refills and making sure you get everything you need and you're happy with your meal. I really appreciated being able to sit in a romantic half moon booth next to my husband. I had the 6 oz filet, jumbo shrimp and bacon wrapped salmon combo. All pretty excellent. My only complaint is that I asked for medium and the steak was medium rare. No biggie I guess. The other think was that the shrimp still had the black gunk in it and I expected different for that high quality of a restaurant, but my husband ate it gladly. My husband got the New York and enjoyed it. The asparagus was awesome. The truffle fries weren't something we really wanted but the server insisted we get them. We tried them but they weren't all that. The server messed up our dessert and put in for the soufflé for one instead of two so I had to eat Creme brûlée. It was cold and not awesome. The soufflé didn't have raspberries like we asked for and just tasted like scrambled eggs. Meh.

    Mortons, for me, is just ok. There's nothing really "special" about the place. It looks sort of like a cafeteria on the "formal" side of the restaurant, so I generally eat at the bar. I have been going here for years, and I was somewhat of a "regular," but it's more due to the convenience of the location than anything. I am in real estate and my broker lives in Oakland Twp, so it was a convenient place to meet off of I-75 to exchange docs, have a meal, and get paid. The food is very mediocre, and doesn't justify the price. The steaks are average (I would rather eat at Capital Grill, Big Rock Chophouse, Cameran's, Ruth's Chis, Roast, or Coach Insignia), the salads, appetizers and sides are nothing special as well. I'm surprised this place has the draw it has... Maybe it's just the location?
