With my car in the shop just across 14 Mile, I was stranded to entertain myself for a few hours. Thankfully situated right across the street from the car place was my land of opportunity in a shopping plaza. Being Thursday, what better way to rekindle the flame with the [sadly] lapsed tradition of Fancy Breakfast Thursday. Kerby's is the only restaurant on the strip. Having visited other branches of the Kerby's clan, I knew I could accept a decent meal. Kerby's features a large number of booths and tables and oversized photographs of Metro Detroit landmarks. I was greeted promptly by a younger waitress who was right on top of the coffee, which colored her amazing in my book. I quickly decided to order the Mushroom and Swiss omelet with French fries (instead of hash browns) and wheat toast. While waiting for my breakfast, I took a gander at the rest of the menu. Kerby's has a baseball theme variety of options with their chili, offering it as a single (bowl of chili), a double (with meat and onions), a triple (meat, onions, and cheese) or the homerun (the previous with sour cream). They basically have all the other options you would expect from any Coney Island, though their dessert menu intrigued me. They had a baklava sundae, which I really wanted, but hesitated since it was only ten o'clock. Also tempting were the "Greek Honey Puffs" served with chocolate sauce, strawberry sauce, or other delightful variants. When my plate arrived I was pleased with the presentation. The omelet had cheese inside and out, though, just to warn Valerie, the mushrooms were canned, which wasn't a problem for me. The shoestring fries were perfectly cooked. The ketchup on the table was in a generic red plastic bottle. I can only pray it was Heinz. The jam/jelly caddy thankfully was full of Smuckers. Everything was hot and pretty standard. Nothing too fancy, but perfectly fine for breakfast. I would gladly return to Kerby's--hopefully not while waiting for more car repairs, I'm not a fan of those.

Won't be going back. Matt's food came out before bringing mine out.. He was 1/4 way through his chili when she brought out my gyro. The fries were hot but gyro meat was cold. She didn't come back to check on us until we done eating. 5 employees loitering in back talking, 3 tables seated...

Props to the good people at Kerby. While I have tried a very limited sample of their menu (Coney Dogs, Greek Salad, Lemon Rice Soup, Fries), all that I have had has been good, fast and fresh. While I am not a fan of the greek salad as it is prepared with iceberg, there was nothing wrong with it otherwise. Service is efficient and informal and it has a family atmosphere. Credit card reader was broken the last time I was here, so they let me go without paying and without a hassle. (I caught up to them shortly hereafter with cash). Coneys: 4 stars, Soup and Salad: 3 stars. A good value!

I will not be eating here again. The quality of food was not at all what I expected compared to the price and the server was not very knowledgeable of the menu. I do not recommend this place.

I have visited this place a few times, and the first couple were not so bad, at least food wise. The establishment has a lot to be considered. The place is dirty, and looks like it hasn't been updated or cleaned since the day it opened. But the food was good before. This trip, however, was my last. When you walk in the door there is a sign that says "Please Wait to Be Seated". But this time, like every, one of the employees yells out from the back of the restaurant to sit anywhere... why not change the sign to "Please seat yourself" and save us some time. I went to sit, and literally the first three tables I almost sat at were dirty. Now I am thinking, maybe you should seat me, so I you can direct me to the table you actually washed. I waited a bit long to order, but was finally able to order, but then after waiting forever, the food was awful. Normally a bowl of chili comes out first and your sandwich and fries after... I even asked for it that way to be sure, but instead, everything hit the table at the same time. I knew it was going to because it was nearly 20 minutes between order and any food. When I mentioned to the server that I did not want this happen, he said "Oh well, that's the way it came out!" So now, I either have to eat really fast, or eat cold food... thanks for a great choice. I ended up leaving an entire order of fries and half a sandwich on the table because it was terrible. When I left, the manager asked how everything was, I told her it was not that great today, and I was disappointed, she could not have cared less... she even told me she recognized me, but offered no apology, and did nothing for my check, except ask me how much tip I wanted to leave the server! Needless to say... this will be my last trip here. It's never busy, so I imagine it won't be around much longer, and something better can come take it's place. Quite frankly, Sonic, right across the parking lot, serves a better meal!!

Sorry but this place has much to fix. Dirty!!! Booths all beat up. Soup appeared to not be fresh. Place is just beat up period. Employees socializing in back. This place won't be in business much longer.

Came at a slower time to relax from a long day at my job. I was the only person in the restaurant. Thought this is a perfect place to relax. Only to listen to the 3 servers stand around and complain from having to work that day, to speeding tickets, to boy friend problems. Ate my food as fast as I could to get out of the hen house. Food was pretty good, but the servers were annoying!!!
