We live in Arizona but my family's from Trenton originally so we aren't particularly regulars here, but we make it back to Michigan a couple times a year and when we do we make it a necessity to eat breakfast at George's at least once. And we like it here a lot...like, my-dad-once-videotaped-our-breakfast-to-my-sister-and-I's-embarrassment, a lot. There's not really too much to say though...this is a simple, friendly mom and pop restaurant that's not big or fancy but gets the job done. The food in itself is wonderful, it's a hearty meal no matter how you slice it and the wait staff makes you feel like they've known you since childhood. If you get coffee, they are steadfast in keeping your mug full. It gets busy on weekend mornings so get there before you're super hungry, although somehow the wait is never too long even if you see a bunch of people and think you'll be waiting forever.

The food was pretty good. We had ham, meatloaf and some sides with it. But they serve FROZEN pierogis which is a total turn off. The waitress told me to steer clear of them. Makes you wonder what else is made from frozen product. Also, the cleanliness was not horrible, but it definitely was not a priority.

This is a great family diner with friendly, personable staff. We ordered a western omelet, broccoli and cheese omelet, two eggs with sausage, and hot cakes. Food service took longer than expected but not a terrible amount of time. Coffee was filled after seemingly every sip, which can sometimes be annoying if you just want to sip and enjoy the family. As for tasty breakfast, you get it here. I do wish breakfast joints would use a little seasoning in hashbrowns. I always want to like them.

I haven't had any other meal there besides breakfast so I can't comment beyond that as far as food goes, but's it's good. And a good value. Like everyone is saying. I often order take-out and the gals who take my order over the phone call me, "hun" and "sweetheart", which I kinda like. Makes me feel like I'm in an Andy Griffith throw-back TV show. Be home soon, Aunt Bea!

I come here when I visit my parents. The prices are awesome, and the wait people are so, so kind. Great place for homestyle food.

A Sunday breakfast favorite! I love the staff--everyone works together and takes care of all of the tables like they're their own! The food is delicious every time! And the prices are fantastic. Love George's!

if you live Downriver and haven't eaten at Georges, you are definitely missing out. George's is a small family restaurant located at the southeast corner of West Road and Fort Street. It is essentially a coney with a more diverse menu, and the only alcohol available is on each table in the form of a large bottle of hand sanitizer. George's only has about 12 or so booths and about the same in single seats at the counter. There are no tables, so your larger group may feel out of sorts here. There is no music playing, no televisions to clutter up your enjoyment of the food. The breakfast selections are inexpensive and range from bacon and eggs to spinach and cheese omelettes. If you cannot find something to eat for breakfast here, you are not trying! The menu is large and definitely more than merely nods to the dietary needs of a mature palate--egg beaters and turkey sausage are available as well as a special senior citizens dinner menu featuring several Italian items, baked meatloaf and breaded veal. There is also a kids menu with the usual fare. On our visit, I enjoyed the #4 breakfast special--two eggs, breakfast meat and hash browns. The other side of the table had the Home Run--two eggs, pancakes, bacon and sausage. The food came out quickly, and hot. We tucked in and I have to say it was one of the best breakfasts I have had in quite a while. If there were any complaints, it would be that the hash browns were only browned on the outside and not all the way through. The other side of the table made rapturous faces as he ate his pancakes. That is always a good sign from him. The bill came and we were both pleasantly surprised at how inexpensive our meal was. One word of note: George's does not take credit or debit cards, they are cash only. So, to sum up: The waitstaff is quick and friendly, the food is excellent, and you won't leave with an empty wallet.

JOP this place is cheap! And good! And full to the rafters with retirees. Mom and I stopped in around 10:30am on a Tuesday and had to wait for a table to be cleared. Packed! We've done breakfast here a number of times, and we leave full, with a carry out for my Dad, for well under $20. My favorite of their specials is two eggs, two pancakes, meat (Dearborn ham, hello), and toast for less than $4. This time, I subbed a biscuit for the toast and added a side of sausage gravy for $1.25, for the perfect breakfast (I swear). Mom went with the French Toast (3 slices for normal meal, 2 for the special), which was fluffy and vanilla-y. Great and plentiful coffee. Nice waitresses. CASH ONLY!

Great Waitress.... When your crowd has a significant senior citizen contingent, successful waitstaff must be above average in people skills. Our server WAS!! Very attentive, polite, and consistently was there. In an age where waitstaff fall in love with texting and other activities besides work...our server was superb. The food was slightly under seasoned but we expected that because of the crowd this place caters too. A dash of salt and this comfort food hits home. The one star hit was for the canned mixed vegetables...other than that all thumbs up.

Stopped here for breakfast on our way into Trenton one weekend and were very impressed. We all got breakfast, which was very good. Food was fresh, good portions, and good price. I got the western omelet, which was great. We then stopped for lunch on our way out of Trenton, which was just okay. I got a coney dog (Dearborn dog with chili and onions), and it was good, but not great. Club sandwich and chicken tenders were also good, not great. If you're going to go, I'd stick with breakfast. But for breakfast, they do a pretty good job. Quick, delicious, and cheap.

My family and I love this place. The food is easily above average, the people that work there are super nice and efficient, and the prices for the quantity are unbeatable. We frequent the place often. This place is perfect for breakfast, great for lunch, and very good for dinner.

My husband and I have been going here for years for breakfast. It may not look like much from the outside, but the service, food, and value are exceptional. We went yesterday and it was amazing as usual. The waitresses are pleasant and add character with a quick quip or comment. The food is fast, hot, fresh, and plentiful. If you want onions in your hashbrowns or your bacon crispy, they do it free with a smile. We normally get the "Homerun" breakfast that comes with eggs, hashbrowns, toast, ham steak, bacon, and sausage. The price? A mere $4.35!!! My husband and I can both eat well for under $10. It is an excellent value for the money. I highly recommend this place.

You need cash here and not much of it. When ya go you may have to wait a bit, but it is worth it.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
