There isn't a Popeye's nearby, so imagine my delight when I found myself driving by one while my wife was asking me what we were going to do for dinner. I walked in and was warmly greeted by a nice woman at the counter. The place was clean, organized, and efficient. The chicken was absolutely delicious. I mean amazing. The biscuits were hot and fresh, and the mashed potatoes and gravy were seasoned perfectly. I can't say enough about the friendly staff. I want more!! I love the place. I really need Popeye's near my home, now!!

The service is still disorganized, slow and not very helpful for placing an order. The spicy Chicken and red beans and rice were very good, when I finally got them. I still had to remind the counter person about my red beans and rice after she called me up for my order, after a 35 minute wait. I'm going to go to 2 stars for the food, but the service makes it hard to go back.

I love the taste of the chicken here, but I never go because they ALWAYS screw up my order! ALWAYS!!!! Not one time has been my order correct through the drive through. My last visit I tried to call to speak to a manager, and no one answered the call. No voice mail, nothing. I will tell EVErYONE I know to NOT go here, obviously they do not care about there customers.

After reading Ryan's review, I can see that the customer service has not changed one bit. A friend of mine recently witnessed an argument between a customer and management because the staff was playing some movie that was chock full of cussing and general inappropriateness. The customer asked them to turn it off and the girl at the counter rudely replied that their customers want to see it, then gave all kinds of attitude and remarks about how customers are a pain in the ass. The manager came out, but she was no better. Apparently corporate doesn't pay much attention to this franchise or else everyone working there would have been fired ages ago. Seriously, don't go here.

My wife and I ordered three shrimp tackle boxes, one large marshed potato, and one large cole slaw through the drive thru at 8:30 pm, 2/13/13. When going aprroaching the drive thru window, our bill came to $22.74. I provided 2 twenty dollar bills and $0.75 cents as payment. The lady person working the drive through asks "Do you have two singles?" I reply "No". She asks me again "are you sure?". I reply "I don't have any". The drive thru lady comes back 3 minutes later asking again if we have two singles. My wife then digs through her purse and manages to pull together $2.00. The drive through lady then tells us to pull to the front of the restaurant. This is my first time at this popeyes, and the front of the restaurant had no doors. So I pulled back along an adjacent roadway to be near the door closest to the drive through. We waited for our order. We waited. We waited some more. Then the car behind me gets a grocery bag sized order in the window. The bag is so large that one of the passengers has to physically exit the vehicle in order to get the food. So we are getting upset at this point and my wife goes into the store to see if there was a problem. 5 minutes later she walks out of the store with our order and she explains to me that once she was inside the store, the drive through lady stated from behind the counter that "the food just finshed getting ready". My wife also said that some tall lady (who looked like a manager) was glaring at her when my wife was explaining the problem. We get home and there are zero condiments or napkins. Nearly $23.00 of food with nothing else. That Popeye's is on a rocket sled to being out of business with this total lack of any customer service. The employees were totally rude and acted like they were doing us a favor just to get the order together.

I love Popeyes Chicken. However this place never learn about people skills. They consistently work with a nasty attitude And act like the chicken Was slaughtered from their children. Please do not eat here for your own safety. God bless america!

First off, after having gone through the reviews for this restaurant, I think that it is hardly fair that some reviewers posted reviews for locations other than this one under this location's reviews. That is hardly fair to the restaurant, and it is hardly fair to potential customers. Now, on to my review of this restaurant. Sure, I could have gone through the drive through line to get my order, but I chose to go inside to pick up a take out order. That way I could enjoy the music and watch my food get made. And due to the spicy chicken being out, my order had to be made fresh. But the wait was not very long at all. That manager on duty was expediting the orders with a great deal of efficiency. She was communicating with her brigade of cooks, and they were responding with quick, efficient service. She and her brigade is to be commended for getting everything out in a timely manner. We ordered their Bahama special which consisted of 10 pieces of chicken, two large sides and 5 buttermilk biscuits. The biscuits were nice and warm with a flaky, crisp outer layer and soft tender inside. The red beans and rice was tasty. The mashed potatoes and gravy was good. The chicken was spicy without being overpowering. The chicken was good enough that Greed was telling me to eat the whole thing, but Prudence was telling me to save some for lunch tomorrow or I'd be hurting from overeating. Prudence is such a spoilsport. With one competitor becoming infamous for their workers battering and frying up stuff that isn't supposed to be eaten, and another competitor retreating from its Southern roots by changing its name to initials and reducing its menu by eliminating a lot of what drew customers to it in the first place, Popeyes is one of the places where you can still get Southern fried chicken done right in the area. And it isn't just any kind of Southern fired chicken. It is Southern fired chicken with a slight kick.

It literally takes 15-20 minutes for every order no matter how many times I frequent this place. On top of that you can't even understand half of the staff. Can you say Ghetto? Who runs this place?

If I could give it a minus on stars than this would be the place that needed it. Help here is very much lacking in customer service. They care less about keeping care of the customer. Seems they are lazy and do not want to work but just collect a pay check. This place opens late all the time. They may or may not tell you why. They may come and say they will be open in 5 minutes but it could be an hour later. If this had happened once I would get over it but after 3 out of 4 times that I stopped I will not get over it or ever drive there again. If the owner is reading this PLEASE get with the program and treat the customer like you at least care some what. The chicken here I thought was not good and would give it two stars. The slaw I would give 3 stars. The red beans and rice I would give 4 stars. That's all I have tried. Prices were about the same as other fast food places. The way they treat customers makes me wonder how they care for the kitchen and this really bugs me so guess I best find another place I can enjoy. Best you do the same!

I don't know if the older reviews have been written by disgruntled ex employees or what but I've been going here since they opened and have never had an order screwed up. A long wait in the drive thru yes, but my foods always been flavorful and fresh. I can't comment on the dining rooms atmosphere as I've never stepped foot inside. But this is not uncommon for me at any restaurant. If they have a drive thru I use it. What boggles my mind is the need for the turnstile at the pickup window. This is Taylor, not Detroit. But even restaurants in Detroit like Burger King and McDonalds don't use the turnstile security Popeyes does. Like they're sending a certain type of message to their customers, "You know what kind of place this is and our 'specific' clientele". Bulls#%t! Anyway, I just wish they'd bring back the jambalaya.

I'm a fan of Popeye's. On the occasion that I do go to Popeye's, I usually have a good experience. But not at this location. When I came into the place, first time by the way, I was greeted by a cashier who seemed like she was bothered by my presence. After I placed my order and waited, I couldn't help but hear the workers in the back obnoxiously yelling at each other about something, which made me a bit uncomfortable while standing there waiting for my food. About a third of the tables were dirty with garbage and pieces of food on the floor. Food trays scattered both on tables and unevenly stacked on the garbage can. Now to the food. Nothing like what I have come to know about Popeye's Chicken. The breast was the size of a thigh, if that, and was bone dry. there was literally about a bites worth of meat on it and the rest was breading. The meat was terrible. Like it sat under the heat lamp for hours. Not to mention that its sort of a maze to get into. This hasn't deterred me from eating Popeye's, I just will not, by an means, eat at THIS Popeye's. EVER again. If you are in the area and need a Popeye's fix, drive about 10 minutes to the Southgate location. They seem to have it down. I really hope management reads this.

This is the absolute worst customer service fast food place I have ever been to. It's almost like a parody or like they're trying to do a bad job. I've given this place multiple chances because of how close it is to me. I've even tried "jinxing" it before I pull up by predicting how bad the service will be. Nothing works it never fails. You can bet that whenever you go here there will be a wait. Like even late night when there's no other cars in the drive through! Also expect attitude from the person taking your order and for them to act like they are annoyed by you. More than once they have cut me off in the middle of my order with a total like I was finished. They always forget at least one condiment but at that point you're almost not even mad it's kind of sad. Other than that the food is pretty good.

Horrible service... seriously! How can a company hire such SLOW workers? It takes them like 5-8 minutes every time we go for them to TAKE OUR ORDER. The people running the register are completely ignorant in the cash position. You constantly have to repeat yourself because they either can't hear you, aren't paying attention to you or can't find the button on the register. The space is kinda gross and there's never anyone in there, trash is never taken out and tables aren't wiped down. (I'm not even sure why I come here, honestly. ) Besides all that, I'll quote Little Nicky "Popeye's chicken is the shiznit!"

This is the worst Popeye's, seriously. We live down the street and no matter how many times I give this place a try, it sucks. The line is forever long, at all times. It sucks to get out of because the entrance/exit is also the one to Walmart. Our order has never been right, not once. Last week, I went to pick up food for a work potluck. I ordered about $40 worth of food and the cashier owed me $2.98 in change. She told me she didn't have any coin change and then just looked at me. I asked her what she meant and she said she didn't have any, asked if I had $0.02 (which I didn't), then asked all of her co-workers if they did. Then, she just blankly stared at me and told me she didn't have it. I told her just to keep the $0.98, since it was obvious she wasn't going to offer me $1 back instead. She told the next three people in line the same thing (I saw her drawer, there was no change in it, at all...but where's the manager? no change on a Friday night?) and expected people to just be okay with not getting any coin change back. Anyways, after my 15 minute wait for the food, I had to go back in because they had, of course, forgotten two sides. While I was there, I also saw one girl take back something she had accidentally given to the wrong car (it had gone out the window, the person had circled back around to return it), dump the chicken back into the tray, and saw another girl box up the chicken the previous girl had just dumped back in for the next customer. Yummy.

This is THE WORST PLACE ON EARTH for customer satisfaction. I went through the drive thru and had to repeat myself FOUR TIMES! The person on the other end couldn't hear me because he was busy having a good time with this friends he invited up there or something. When I got up to the window there were several guys in "street wear" hanging out in the back laughing having a good time. I sat there for 10 minutes before anyone even came to the window. Get this, there was actually someone, dancing in there. I mean, I wouldn't call it dancing but I guess they would. Finally a girl came to the window and asked us "what flavor drinks you order?" Which I interpreted to mean, what soda's had we requested. Coke and orange fanta. 5 minutes later she throws 2 soda's into the turn style and walks away. One was an orange fanta, the other was sprite. We waited another 5 minutes and some guy we could NOT understand whatsoever walks up and looked at us like we were crazy because we had not taken the other drink. We told him it was supposed to be coke. ANOTHER 5 minutes and he puts the drink and our food up and walked away. We needed honey mustard. Waiting a while longer, he came up to the window and actually said "What!?". Whoa I thought, perhaps I should come inside and ask him directly, no no no, cool heads prevailed. "I need some honey mustard" I said, he walked away and came back with 4 sauces. I grab them, BBQ sauce. I was done.. Never again will I allow the lowly members of our society service my expedient culinary requests. You're better off going up to Telegraph & Plymouth if you want some popeye's chicken. As it will most likely take less time than a sit down restaurant.
