I wanted to update my review as I've gone from a occasional diner to a weekly regular. We go every Tuesday to have live dinner and play live trivia. The food is amazing and the menu is varied enough that you don't get tired of it; they have some amazing homey specials like great beef tips and mac and cheese. I saw some negative comments about it being a "regular's bar"; there are a lot of regulars, and it is great to come in and the waitress can give you a heads up on a new beer that she knows you will like. We've had friends come for the first time and soon they were regulars too. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They have a great Sunday brunch and we had a party in their banquet room after my son's baptism; the food and service was as amazing as what we get in the bar.

This place is within walking distance from our house so it's a great place to walk to on a warm summer night or someplace to stop on our way home for a quick drink. The food is on the greasy side. The pizza is so-so. However, one time we got wings there and those things were great! They were large and had lots of flavor and juice. Also, one time we ordered nachos (I'm not sure if they're still on the menu) and asked for beef on only half and they brought out two orders of nachos to make it easy. It was a great bonus. The service is a bit slow, but if you are prepared for it then you don't mind as much. The service is faster if you sit at the bar, however we've noticed that there's something odd about the height of the bar and we end up with pain in our neck/shoulders if we sit there leaning on the bar for too long. They have a very good beer selection for the area. There's only a couple of places around that could beat them. It includes great craft beers and the selection seems to change from time to time. The one big bummer for me is that I love to go to establishments with outdoor patios. This place has one, but unfortunately it is not smoke free. If I could enjoy a few drinks outside and actually get some fresh air I would be there more often.

Okay the 1st time we went here for lunch (they have $1.00 burgers Tuesday- Thursday) it was understaffed and after an hour we had to take our food to go. The burgers were still really great but fries dont travel well. Decided to give this place a second chance because the burgers were so good and I am so glad we did. I had the Cobb salad that was fresh, delicious and full of chicken, bacon and all the goodies. My co-worker had to pan seared perch and she LOVED it. They are still remodeling the interior but the waitress are great and the food is superb. They got repeat customers for life with us.

OK - so between early 2013 and today this place has come a long way. Service has gotten so much better, the food is the bomb and they have the best beer selection in Taylor. Its the only place we go now. Sometimes a couple of the bartenders get pre-occupied and we have to wait a while to be waited on if sitting at the bar but in general they've done a complete about face. Fish Fry on Friday is great and you MUST try the wings and pizza.

Stopped in for a few drinks before heading to a Superbowl party. Glad we had a part already because they were closing from 4:30-5:30 to set up for party. Even though we already had plans we weren't offered to stay for the game. Ordered a vodka\sprite and it came a LARGE glass. Basically a high ball glass the size of a mug. Way to big for a quality drink. Next drink I ordered a short and it came in a tiny juice glass. Really? Just weird! (picture doesn't to it justice). Waitress was really nice and building has been recently remolded very nicely. It's large inside and would be good for groups. We seen some food come out that look really good but we didn't eat. They have an Internet jukebox and someone played Pink Floyd the entire time we were there. Not only Pink Floyd but B-side really weird stuff that was loud and there were families there. I would like to go back and have dinner and give this place a longer look. I think they are kinda stuck between deciding if they want to be more of a bar or more of a restaurant that serves food. Just my opinion!

Great place for a Bar Burger & Beer! 1/2 # Burgers are charred grilled, and very, very tasty. Probably the best tasting burgers in this area IMO. Beers are always ice cold, draft or bottled. (Big Bonus!) They usually have a "Daily Specials" board, and have a decent menu too. The Lime Chicken nachos are awesome! As are the pizzas too. I haven't had everything they offer, but I haven't been disappointed in anything I've gotten either. Nice covered patio on the side of the building, for enjoying the weather. Not my pick for eating out there, but it's nice to enjoy a drink and have conversations with friends on the patio. Waitress's are usually attentive, and the bartender's are talkative if they aren't to busy. If Tami Jo is working behind the bar, or on the floor, you'll get great service!! She a favorite of mine. That's only reason why I started coming up here! ;) This place does get packed on Fri. & Sat. late afternoons/nights. So go early!

My husband and I came for lunch. We were always curious about this place since they remodeled the outside. We were the only ones there and the service was pretty terrible. The barmaid/waitress literally just dropped our food off and walked away. She didn't bother to ask if we needed anything else and never came back to check on us during our meal. My husband actually had to go up to the bar to ask for refills and pickles. Menu is very limited. We both had the burger and it was pretty basic.

Most nights you get great service, there's always a bad seed somewhere however. The crowd is pretty mixed with old and young, good hang out, great nachos. It's the type of place you can go to for lunch with your parents and come back to for drinks with a date or your buddies. Monday night is dollar beer night, enjoy!

I've been there twice. The food is good. Normal bar menu (burgers, sandwiches and appetizers). The first time, the coffee was terrible. The second time, the long island iced tea was pure tequila. The service was good and fast.

oh goodness, I just don't know about this place. Visited today for lunch, and 2 hours later, my stomach is still angry with me. It's a bar, so you expect the food to be greasy. Well, that's what you'll get, GREASE! Ordered a burger and O'Rings, ate 1/2 the burger and 3 or so rings before my body couldn't handle it anymore. The rings taste like crispy fried batter minus the onion, and the burger grease was dripping down my arm. There were a lot of locals in there, already over-served at 1pm, being loud and cursing (yes, children were present). I think this is a local guy's place as we were the only ones in there the serer didn't know by name. Before we left, a man with birthday gifts came in to secure a table for a group. He asked to sit where they could see the TV to watch the football game, and the server told him no, putting him in the back corner. Mind you, there was plenty of room, only about 5 tables of people in there (the bar rail was full, again all local men known by name). Just got the impression that if you aren't a regular, you don't get very good service. We wont be back.

Had my Daughter's 21st birthday party in the "banquet room" at JP McGuires. This is a nice, neighborhood place and they treated everyone with style. The food was excellent and the service was above & beyond! The bar itself is very well kept with plenty of TV's, music, & games. Drinks are reasonably priced and there are food specials nightly. This is a must stop on your next night out on the town!

I really like this place the drinks are good and are priced fairly. I like the food and the service I am overall happy with the place... I will say it can be a bit loud but I usually sit in the back so the sound does not bother me. it is a locals bar for sure every time I go in there I see usually the same people depending on what time of day it is. I love some of the things the new owners have done with the place they updated the menu, opened the place up a bit, added a patio, and much more. over all it is a good place to check out if you are in town and want to sit and enjoy a meal with some friends.

Been here a few times and the food is great. People that are complaining about the greasy food are funny, if you order a burger and onion rings it is going to be greasy lol. I had a few different things here and it has all been very good, especially the hot wings.
