Very friendly service. I had the 5 whole wings and Fries for $6.99. The chicken was well seasoned and cooked perfectly. It would've been better if you could get two sides for the price but the quality made up for the cost.

I'm gonna go with 3 stars on this one. I've heard this place is good and have wanted to try it. I'm not a huge fried chicken fan but my boy loves it. So today I picked up my boys and of couse they're starving to death and neither ones palates is agreeing. The ten year old wanted Bk( ugggh) thirteen year old kfc ( ugggh) sooo in our course of direction Bk and Chickenman in the same stretch of road. So we tried it the teen got a 4 piece fried chicken dinner with double mashed taters. He liked it chicken tasted fresh ( I had a nibble) not processed more like homemade pretty good the mashed were totaly instants. Came with a roll. My son devoured it no surprise there, the human vacuum, but not really wanting to go back anytime soon. I got the mostaccioli with meatballs ehhh it was okay meatballs of the frozen variety.. not liking that, sauce just okay. I more then likely won't return. They do offer catering and as stated in my tip now offering tacos which intrigues me somewhat.. ehhh will see.

I happened to be in Taylor doing some charity work and not being familiar with surrounding eateries I went to Yelp and found The Chicken Man, Maybe I just had higher expectations given all of the 4 and 5 star reviews, but this place didn't wow me. I couldn't find any menus online so I couldn't order ahead as recommended. When I walked in I expected to perhaps see some lunch combos, but there was only representation for dinner meals. I asked about lunch and was provided a sheet that was kept behind the counter. She said to me, "I'll give you a minute to look at it and be right back", and walked into the back room and started cooking an order. After waiting for some time without her returning, I asked another gentleman in the store if this was the norm. He said it was, but also told me it was worth the wait. So, I waited. It took at least 10 minutes for her to return and take my order, and I think they only reason she came out was that another customer walked in and activated the door buzzer. I noticed on the menu that there were sides available such as slaw, potato salad, etc.. However the cooler that was supposed to house these items was completely empty. Oh well. I ordered the 4 piece tender and fries meal. Glad I had cash because there is a surcharge to use credit. Surprisingly there is a surcharge for debit too. The food came out hot and fresh. The fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and the chicken was crunchy and not greasy, however the tenders were pretty small. Ever buy the little tenders in the frozen food section at the grocery store? That's what they looked like - almost as if it were a 1/2 tender. There are no dipping sauce options that I'm aware of. I had to ask for ketchup for the fries and then was given exactly 2 packets. It's not as though this place is bad. It just wasn't awesome. I would choose it over KFC, but I've been spoiled with Lee's Chicken in Plymouth which is near to my home. The Chicken Man isn't even close to on par with that joint.

I love this place the chicken is always good and it is hard to find fried chicken in a to go place around this area, prices are not too high. I do call ahead as they are busy every time I did not call ahead it took about 20 minutes but it is worth the wait.

A fair warning to the Chicken Man patrons- Order earlier than you think you need to. Their 15-20 minutes has not been the case for me both times I've visited the place. They appear to fry everything fresh to order, and there's just one woman working in the back, so the order takes a while. The food was delicious (again) and I like this a lot better than KFC!

This place was delicious. Take out only. And I'd definitely recommend calling ahead. We didn't place our order until we arrived and it took a good 30-40 mins for it to be ready (7 meals total needed to be made). The fried chicken was the star of the meal, the cole slaw was pretty good and the mashed potatoes were decent. They had a special for 6pc meal on Thursdays, so it was only $8-9 if I recall. Worth every penny.
