This place is probably the definition of a hole-in-the-wall restaurant. The wallpaper is falling off the walls, the one-person multi-gender bathroom looks like it is right out of the late 70's and the tables are old and rickety. They even have place mats on the tables that are covered in local businesses. My friends and I got a kick out of the "Weed Gator" ad that was positioned next to our coffee mugs. But make no mistake: the food here is excellent. After a long camping weekend and prior to a 2-hour drive back to metro Detroit, the three of us stopped here per one of our friends' recommendations. I'm really glad we did because not only did the food fill me up, it also put me in a coma on the ride home. I ordered the Western Omelet (with bacon rather than ham) and it was HUGE. They give you a ton of hash browns on the side, along with good toast and jelly. The only issue I had was that for some reason my omelet contained mushrooms, which I hate. I just picked them out from inside, not a big deal. It was so filling... My friends ordered similar meals, with one getting the special of the day: a Polish sausage breakfast meal. It was basically a bunch of peppers, eggs, Polish sausage, etc in a big bowl. It looked really good! The best part about smaller diners like this is that the food isn't even that much. A coffee and the big breakfast was less than $9. The service was great; my coffee probably got refilled three times in 15 minutes. Stop in if you're in the area and spoil yourself. CASH ONLY $$$
Lots of food, tasty. Not expensive. The portions are large. It is dirty. I hate restaurants with crusty carpet... and the bathroom is super small. No changing table. Good place for breakfast, not sure about lunch.
Awesome! Read reviews on yelp and this fit the bill for a good breakfast stop. Service is fast and sweet. Waitress was singing to the music on the classic rock radio station. Decent cup of coffee, always quick to refill your cup. Food was out in like 10 minutes. I had the northern breakfast, a scramble of hash browns, bacon , onion & eggs topped with cheese....and a biscuit. My wife has scrambled eggs, hash browns & toast. Portions were huge and neither of us finished. Food was very edible but the highlight was the biscuit & toast, both were homemade and very tasty. Oh, and homemade jam too. I felt at home in a room full of people I have never met adding to the overall experience and enjoyment. Don't change a thing!!! a place like this treasure to find.

Tony’s Tacos

This place rocks. Authentic roadside Mexican in a concession trailer. Food was great, presentation on paper plates and picnic tables in a steel carport was great. Nice ice cold Mexican Coke in glass bottles with lunch. Food was really clean and really authentic. Loved it. Looking forward to going back soon. Prices are a bit high for roadside food, but flavor, authentic atmosphere, and kind service made the price with it. Not the absolute best I have ever had, but authentic in so many ways that it doesn't matter. The flavor and quality is all there
Nothing against Tony and his tacos but there is much left to be desired. I grew up around road side stands and taco trucks and I've had 10x better food for less $$. The food isn't bad but it's nothing above average. Their salsa is closer to a pico de gallo and the lack of meat options made me miss more authentic fare. I'm a big rice fan so I'm glad to say that the rice is good and you can tell pretty much everything on the menu is hand prepped. But again, main reason for the 2 star rating is that this place is far from good of you've ever spent some time in another part of the country where they serve down home quality Mexican food.
Tony's is a small food truck off the side of the road, but don't let that stop you. The food is great. Very fresh and oh so tasty. My only issue is the salsa can be watery, so its best to order your salsa on the side. I have tried many of the menu items and all of them have been good.

I was 'that guy' that walked in 10 mins before close a few nights back. Despite that, the girls were very polite and didn't make us feel rushed to leave. It's Subway so there's only so much you can say about the food. 4 stars for them being sweet and not questioning my crazy gross looking sub.

I do not care for Wheelers. I know it is for sale, and for good reason. The salad bar is stale and the atmosphere is depressed. The food from the kitchen is not good either. I agree with no chains, but this one isn't great...
Small towns have great places to eat if you get off the expressways and lust look around. WHEELER'S in Standish is one of these places. Good food and good people is what it's all about. The charm of this place alone beat any chain into the ground. It has a history you can not make up. Remember to eat well and to live well, and please NO CHAINS!
Breakfast was unimpressive. I expected much more for the prices we paid. I won't be returning.

Burger King

Very quick, even during the lunchtime rush. We stopped on our way north with 4 kids under the age of 5. Staff was super helpful when we needed an extra set of hands getting our food to the table for us without even asking. No complaints here! Adding: they were even super nice after my son dropped his almost full soda on the floor. WHOOPS! :-/
Ive been to so many burger king locations and this one is my least favorite. It is silly to have to ask my onion rings to be well done so they can be cooked throughly. As everytime I have to come here they dont cook it long enough as onion rings are so soggy and bending sideways lol. Its amusing but sad that its the only burger king for many miles around in a small town in middle of no where. Today I sent a relative to pick up to take out and I asked for onion rings well done it was perfectly cooked just done right no it wasnt even over crispy just right crunch like other BK locations...relative complained how long she had to wait for the rings to be cooked....really? If they did it right all of the time it wouldnt be an issue. I got a whopper... disgusting mess. Mayo covering most edges of the bun, mayo slathered on not the normal amount like other BK locations and I had to literally use 5 paper towels to wipe off the mayo. Too bad I didnt think to take a picture but anyhow. McDonalds and Taco bell is other restaurants in town and they are on my permanently banned list of places to eat due to inconsisent horrible services nationwide. This BK location is the only BK ive been to that is always messing up food and nearly getting only this location banned I will be going to spend more money on bar food or other places. Maybe I wont eat from this location again and no more headaches. Ill just wait til I am back in Chicago area for a BK fix now and then.

A classic restaurant. Seat your self type! Order your meal via a phone. Very classic! Ordered milk shakes, cheeseburgers and A&W root beer! Had other classics like coney dogs, chicken sandwiches, chicken tenders and classic root beer floats. Kids menu has hamburgers, chicken, hot dogs and more.
We have stopped here annually for years on our way to camping... BUT never again. The prices are outrageous for a fast food joint. Of course the kids love the phones to call in hour order. The service was extremely slow. The food was mediocre at best.

Nothing like a clean restroom, coffee and a breakfast burrito to lift your spirits after drinking a 30 rack and ripping shots of Private Stock in the middle of the woods the entire day before.

Little Sicily Pizzeria

227 N Main
Standish, 48658
Reviews:
You have a 50/50 chance of getting a decent pizza. Either way it will be too expensive for what you get. The small area for "dining in" is dirty and everything is covered with grease. Their specialty pizzas can be pretty tasty, and so I've given them quite a few chances. You can see into the back portion of the building at the counter where the register is. Staff look dirty and unkempt. The kitchen is very dirty and the pizza boxes are stored ON THE DIRTY FLOOR leaning against a table leg. I tried to overlook this because the pizza is amazing 50% of the time. We could see a worker take our pie out of the oven and begin to cut it. He paused for a moment, quit cutting and had a strange expression on his face. He then proceeded to cut it. I now know why he paused... No more chances any longer. We ordered a Primo Italiano pizza, take out. Upon arriving home and opening the box we discovered there was no cheese on the pizza. I called Little Sicily to let them know. I was informed the cheese goes under the sauce and toppings on square pizzas. I said that I realized that and we had inspected the entire pizza looking for cheese and found none. The man on the whole informed me they wouldn't let a pizza leave with no cheese on it. I reiterated that there was no cheese. He told me they use "a whole cup" of cheese on large pizzas. I repeated (for the 3rd time) that there was NO CHEESE ON THE PIZZA! I was told again the pizza had cheese on it. I started getting irritated at the guys righteous and pompous attitude. I said, "okay so you are telling me there is, in fact, cheese on this pizza?" Yep. I gave up and we threw the pizza away. We will never patronize Little Sicily again, and I will be letting our friends in the area know how our last experience went. We are done. Never again. We will get our pizzas from Fergie's exclusively from now on. Little Sicily- maybe get some customer service training for employees and owners. While you are at it, clean your hovel of a business and learn to make pizza... It has cheese on it...
