Nice locally owned bagel shop. The prices and food are great but the owner/manager is what puts this place over the top. He's very conversational and friendly asking how your day is going and such. Will definitely be bringing my business to this location in the future.

I have working in Southfield for 9 years and I never knew this place existed! My favorite thing to eat for lunch is a Nova Lox sandwich and I wish I would have known about this place sooner because they have the best nova lox. It's a small shop with the best bagels you will ever have. I absolutely mean that when I say the BEST BAGELS you will ever have. The gentleman working is such a sweet guy and really enjoys what he does. He was really excited to have me as a customer and I felt really welcomed. I love nice people and I love good food. They have it all and I would recommend this place to anyone

I wholly back earlier reviews from Claire V., Falon K., Matt B. and other positive reviews that describe NYBBC as an inviting bagel shop that's part of the community and serves delicious bagels. Much better than the chains, and the closest thing to NY bagels you're going to get around here. The everything bagel is EVERYTHING and even has fennel seeds on it. Parmesan onion bagel is to die for and don't get me started on the lox & cream cheese. Their cream cheese has a lovely texture and their flavors are to die for. I don't come here too often but everytime I do, I feel like a regular with their warm and inviting conversation.

they have one great thing here. the hot mozzarella bagel. it comes right out of the oven hot and covered in gooey cheese with garlic. the cheese fills up the bagel hole so well. the other bagels are pretty normal and good when they're fresh. the drug reps bring this all the time and i always eat at least one. being right next door to star deli they also have horrible parking. the workers are much nicer though! love, juston

These are classic bagels - and great. I wish they would expand their menu to egg+bagel sandwiches, etc. That would really make this a stellar place.

No doubt about it. This is the best bagel place in the area. Skip a chain bagel place and come here - you won't regret it. Staff is friendly. Bagels are fresh and the shmear is everything you could hope for and more. Personally, I love an everything bagel toasted, medium plain cream cheese and strips of lox. All of that goodness for only 5 bucks!!!

This is a small shop with maybe over a dozen bagel types to choose from. There is also coffee and a small variety of toppings to choose from. Despite the relatively smaller menu the bagels here are well made and delicious. I had an everything bagel with cream cheese and lox and it was delicious; it wasn't too expensive either. Even with the delicious bagels what puts this place over the top is the friendly service. The store owner was courteous and made conversation. This is obviously a small business and I would definitely show support by going to this place for a quick breakfast on the go if you're in the area.

This is the only place I know that puts green onions in their tuna, like my mother. Ordered it with an everything bagel, It was the BEST tuna sandwich I have ever had. Service is great. We all need to support small businesses like this one. Thank you New York Bagel.

These guys are ALWAYS ready to help and have fresh bagels ALL the time. They are nice and friendly. We usually get the cheese bagels with herb spread. Yum!!!! The New York bagel is also delicious!! We come here at the most random times and every time we are given warm fresh bagels no matter what time of day. This is a REAL bagel shop! Prices are very fair and people are super chill and friendly. Wish they had a bigger place to eat and enjoy a few inside. :-) thanks guys!!

Its a nice little spot - I believe there is one table inside but please note I wouldn't come in with a lot of people because it is tight in there. The guy at the register was really nice - I support small business.

I've been eating their bagels for about 20 years now and they are STILL the best bagels EVER. Always fresh, and amazing ingredients without the big price mark up like those chain bagel places that shall remain unmentioned. The egg bagel is the reason I keep going back. That and the wonderful customer service.

I stopped into New York Bagels the other day because I wanted to support a local business. Tim Horton's has recently moved in next door to the strip mall where NYB is located. I wanted to do my part. The bagels were fresh and warm and the owner even gave me an extra bagel for free! Love this spot! I'll be doing my part to make sure they remain a part of our neighborhood!

I enjoyed the freshest bagel this morning from here! I got an onion bagel with plain cream cheese. It was slightly toasted on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. It was warm enough to to make the cream cheese melt also, making it a perfect bagel. I'm convinced it was because the owner makes everything here with love! He is so friendly and kind; I felt like a valued customer and left with a big smile on my face. It was a bit hard to find, but now that I've found it, there is no other place I'll go for my bagels. It's becoming increasing difficult to find a really good, authentic bagel joints; there are plenty of "generic" Dunkin Donuts and Tim Horton's around. I'm glad to see a small business still open and in the neighborhood, serving us with fresh homemade bagels. If you haven't tried this place, I highly recommend it.

This is the ultimate neighborhood bagel shop! The owners are super nice, old school, down to Earth folks! If you give a top, you can count on an additional bagel or two being added to your order! The bagels are baked fresh daily and I'm pretty sure they don't contain any harmful ingredients; just the basics like flour and yeast.

A nice little unpretentious bagel joint. I had an egg bagel still warm from the oven with veggie cream cheese. It was chewy with a nice crisp crust - an excellent bagel. The service was great and makes me wish I lived closer.

NY bagel hasnt changed much in 30 years, and i hope it stays true for another 30 more. Their classic bagels, egg, poppy, onion, etc. are arguably the best anywhere in the country. They have added a few flavors over the years, but aren't trying to do oversized sandwiches like the chain "gentile bagel" spots. If you want authentic Jewish soulful bagels, go to NY Bagel Co.
