This place is tucked away in the basement of an office building, and is surprisingly decent. My orders are usually pretty standard: cheeseburgers, grilled cheeses with fries, or Greek salads with chicken. Everything is cooked well, tasty, and super cheap.

The line of ticket-carrying alternative school students queued up at the side walk-up of this underground office building cafe look disgruntled for the long wait and the window that gets slammed shut between orders. On the other side of the counter, the wallet-carrying nurses, social workers, etc. queued up at the inside counter, tend to look pretty gruntled. That's because they get served the excellent fare at Bally's first. Details? The club sandwich at $5.99 on fresh-baked "momma's bread" is delightful, though if you tell them to keep the mayonization in check, you have a better shot at living to eat here again. On my second visit I got a chicken gyro and a gargantuan "medium" salad dressed w/ fresh lemon and olive oil, which was quite tasty and so voluminous that I'd have to say it's the closest thing to a mountain I've seen in this flat stretch of Midwestern prairie. With no competitors within walking distance and a captive office buildingful of workers, this place would be perfectly free to suck and still cover its rent. But it gets the job done, so well that if I worked in the building I'd stop by a couple times per week.
