Went here with some friends for the all you can eat Friday Night Whitefish and Chips. Excellent Whitefish!. Service was very good too for a party of nine. Cant wait to go back. Love the stuffed animals around the place.

I'll start by admitting that two stars is high but if you're at pictured rocks, this is really the only place to eat for at least 20 miles (a genius would put a Chipotle here, but anyway). It's true that the sign saying pasties is misleading given that there is only one on the menu- one pound of ground beef I believe it said. No sign of a cocktail menu either though their sign advertises that. IF you decide you must go for the novelty, as we did I guess, know that: 1. probably nothing is fresh and most things are either a fried or a burger- 2 there is a lot if taxidermy and skins on the walls (good or bad depending on your mood/desire to pet a beaver and/or bear) 3 if you're a vegetarian- hahaha- you can't really act like you expected options. It's divey- a better term would be backwoods tavern-y, it's weird, and the food did not appear to be much good though you gotta eat right? So get some chicken fingers and stop crying.

We got a warm meal here that was nice after camping for 3 days and hiking in the rain all day. We were excited about the pasties but they weren't anything special. Probably just warmed up in the microwave since it took less than 5 minutes to get them. Service was good and prompt. But don't go when there are only locals hanging out. There were about 8 locals at the bar when we went and we felt ostracized. They kept saying loudly "we can't, we actually have guests" and other comments. One person sitting at the bar actually went behind the bar (must have been an employee) and started clipping her nails less than 5 feet from us while we were eating!! It was hard to maintain an appetite after that. Overall, the food wasn't terrible but I don't think I'd go back again.

A solid good meal. Everything was good and the service was prompt and friendly. I had a pasty that was great and my husband had the western burger which was great too. My daughter's chicken tenders were really good. The service was very friendly. Worth the little extra drive out of Munising.

Awesome place Up here for vacation and parents took us here- Decor is great and very fitting for the area and name of place Fun setting and fun menu Food was tasteful and very well priced Only complaint is the amount of gravy they served on the hot hamburger- but I can totally understand having that much on in the middle of winter so it's cool Very friendly staff, fun atmosphere and good food makes this a must stop

Service was terribly slow. It took over 60 minutes to get all of our food and then when it came piece by piece. My dinner came 30 minutes before the rest of my family's. The waitress was friendly but then tried to tell us that my daughters meal didn't come with fries. Mine was just from the appetizer section for some reason so it didn't come with anything else either. My wife had the philly and it was mostly vegetables.

Great bar food. Don't be fooled by the Pasties sign, they were out when we got there and we're told they get them frozen. Super cold beer, like Rocky's cold (however served in a can). I had the mushroom Swiss burger - delish. Husband had the Wisconsin sausage patty burger, said it was great. Service was fast & friendly. It's a little divey, but clean & big menu.

Quintessential northwoods experience. Almost like they are trying too hard to be 'up nort.' Other than that, we had great service in what was easily the quietest restaurant we have ever eaten (even though it was kid friendly for our 2 and 5 year olds). My impressions of the tastyness of this food are colored by the fact that we had been camping for three days straight so anything that we didn't have to cook over the fire or stove was going to be amazing. Wife had the Pasty - liked it though it was a bit salty I had the brat burgers - tasty and not over-cooked My boys loved the chicken fingers with what looked like boxed mac -n- cheese.

This is our go to place for Friday Night Fish Fry. My favorite is the Haddock, the batter is perfect and it is so yummy!

Went here a couple times during a camping trip up to Beaver Lake. I thought the food was great and the service was good. Super in the middle of nowhere, but that makes it even more special that it's a place worth eating at!

We stopped in on our way to ride H-58. Both of us had their pasty's and ordered a side a gravy. Food and service was very good. Atmosphere is standard up north decorations. The only thing to really gripe about is that they didn't have A/C. With temps hovering in the upper 80's to low 90's, the fan in the window just didn't work. Understandably A/C is not something that is normally needed this far north and near Lake Superior.

Good Burger, we did not have a long wait as Scott did. The food was good and hot, the staff was friendly.

Stopped with group snowmobiling on feb 18 2011. Waited over an hour to be served mostly burgers. Server didnt say boo for 45 mins after we ordered. Even though it was busy, needless to say, we will not be back.

Stopped in on a trek from Munising to Tequamenon. The decor was great. Loved all the animals ALL over the walls, I wanted to grow a beard and become a hunter. The Pastie was great. Service was very polite, but slow and it wasn't too busy. If I was in the area I would stop in again. I can only imagine the fun on a busy weekend or snowy night.

Stopped to get a pasty to go to split. Nice bartender. Pasty was ok. Definitely not as good as my moms or Roy's in Houghton, MI. But we were starving so it hit the spot.

I spend a week camping with my family every summer in Pictured Rocks and always make time to stop at the Bear Trap at least once! The burgers are great and everything I order is always tasty. We also had the perch and It was very good. I saw a table near us get a burrito and it was huge!!! Great service and great food.

We were there last weekend, twice. Once for dinner and once for breakfast. Pasties are awesome! Omlets are huge and also good. Wish they had a better selection of beer, but can't expect much in that area.

Stopped here for breakfast on the second day of our camping trip and had a great experience. Kelly was alone, serving & cooking all by her lonesome with 3 tables there and was still prompt in getting to us and letting us know of the situation. We were happy to be patient, but service was still awesome and had very reasonable timing! After a long first day and sleepless night of torrential rain, a hot and delicious breakfast was so comforting and appreciated. We decided to stop back for lunch on another day between moving campsites and we were not disappointed, yet again. My hubs got a burger which was actually impressive and delicious, and I got the clam strips basket, which hit the spot. Kelly, again, gave us remarkable service and even gave me 2 eggs when I asked if I could purchase a couple from their kitchen. Prices are more than fair, food is better than I'd expected, especially given the surroundings. We had a bite and drink some miles West, in Munising, off the boat pier, and food and service were pretty terrible there, so this was a really nice surprise. This is a little gem hidden (or not) in a large park with not much else in terms of dining options. We had an amazing experience camping at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, and Bear Trap Inn was one of the very many highlights. We are so excited to come back next year for an even longer camping trip and will be visiting BTI again!

I've been here a few times because I have relatives who live just down the road. I ought to bring my camera next time, because the decor is really what makes the "Up North" experience - as you might expect from the name, stuffed bears everywhere! I hear good things about the Friday fish fries but can't comment. I really adore that they have a couple of veggie options and a salad bar. The salad bar isn't expansive, but what's in it is good and kept fresh. I liked the veggie burger I had here as well. Prices are reasonable, and the wait staff is usually very friendly and attentive, though that could be because we're always there with our relatives who are regulars.
