Met some friends here today to celebrate a birthday. Service was great. Food was really good. I had the french dip and both companions had the maui wowee-grilled chicken with pineapple/ham. Two of us asked for deletions from the menu description. The orders came out in a timely manner, everything just as ordered. We sat to chat for a while, waitress kept checking on us, assured us it was ok to stay as long as we liked. After a while we ordered a dessert to pass around the table. Homemade cheesecake with a blueberry compote. Everything was delicious, we had a good time and will probably be back as it is a good location for us all to meet.

Mediocre service, okay food. Last time I patronized Buds we were accosted by a "local drunk" the staff stood by but never stepped in to help. I'll never go back to Bud's.

So, we went back to Buds recently to give them 1 more chance. This time the food was delicious! Their French onion soup was once again fantastic! Everyone I was with enjoyed their food also! I don't know what happened since our last visit but, welcome back Buds!! We'll be back! :)

Thought this was "just a bar," but what a pleasant surprise! Best Reuben I've had in a long while (with "house brined" real corned beef)!!! Ample portions too. From the looks of the burgers, it might not be a bad idea to split them between two people. A HUGE beer selection. That wonderful "old bar" atmosphere too. Innovative menu selections beyond the "small town"bar fare. We didn't have room for dessert, but they actually have a decent selection! We'll be coming back!!!

So what do we compare Bud's to in Schoolcraft?? Wendy's? Some diner up the street?? Nope...point is there's nothing really in the area to compare it to. But since I'm willing to travel for good food, I'm also comparing it to Portage restaurants. Verdict: Food: Above average, seems to be mostly homemade. Price: Below Average. For what you get, definitely will have me coming back. Ambiance: Dive bar / small town pub. Makes you feel part of the community. Service: We went on Patty's day and it was slow, borderline annoying slow. However, I was paying attention to the other tables and it appeared the problem was my server. Kid Friendly: Absolutely, except after 8 or so. There was a band or karaoke going one night which made it tough for a 2 year old. As for Gayle's review, I really hate to ding Bud's on this. Yeah it might be one of the only watering holes in Schoolcraft and yes, it's the bartenders job to kick people out in his condition, but I wouldn't be so easy to jump to conclusions about an establishment because of one Jack Ass.

A couple of us joined a single friend at a table. We were visiting them or would have left. Was there over an hour and NEVER acknowledged by staff. I even approached three staff: completely ignored by two, one said they were doing the best they could. I wanted to order food, we all wanted drinks....NEVER received ANY service

My friend and I came for lunch on Wednesday, 12/4, on a recommendation about their great burgers. I got the BBQ bacon burger and my friend got the Bud's burger (I recall it had pepper jack cheese and green olives). Bottom line, the burgers FAR exceeded our expectations. My friend ordered his medium rare, and that's exactly how it came. My 'medium' was cooked perfectly as well. The burgers tasted very fresh and were served on what appeared to be fresh brioche buns. The bacon on my burger was crispy and delicious - - I state this because I find that bacon on burgers to be very hit and miss as many times it can be undercooked and fatty...and I end up taking it off. Fries were also very good; hot and crispy. In short, well done!!

One of the best burgers I've ever had the pleasure to eat. Truly exceptional. They have interesting combinations of toppings. Great bar. Lots of friendly locals. Terrific service. The warm artichoke dip made me groan...in a very good way. :)

The food would probably be good if it was warm when it came out. After an hour of waiting for bar food, we started getting a bit upset. The waitress told us that the problem was that the computer wasn't working so they had to write out the orders by hand. But when she took our orders they were written down on a pad with a carbon copy . . . We did finally get our food, but it was cold so we didn't really eat it. The biggest problem is that four years earlier, we had sworn off ever eating there because we had basically the same experience. The manager told us that there was a problem with "getting food expedited." To be fair, we only paid for drinks and the manager gave us a $20 gift card, so they attempted to put it right. We have friends who eat here all the time and seem to like it. So I will recognize that other experiences exist. And the menu is good and I have no doubt that the food is good when it's warm. So I'll be generous and give two stars. Hopefully the problem will be solved soon. If other people have better experiences, I hope they write about it here so I'll know when it's safe to try again.

I recently ate at Bud's Food & Drink and really enjoyed it! The food was great, the service was friendly and the prices were very reasonable. I am certain that this will be a regular place for me to dine in the future!

I ate at Bud's Food and Drink last weekend. I love that each day they have different specials. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. The service is good and the atmosphere is fun and friendly. It is a really great place compared to other restaurants in this area. It reminds me of Cheers which was a popular TV show. Great place to meet friends.
