We could not have asked for a better experience. The room was beautifully decorated, clean, and well-maintained while we were there. The hostesses, Sherry and Lisa, are both so friendly and happy to share information about things to do around town and even give personal suggestions (which worked out very well). This place is right at downtown Saugatuck. We were able to walk practically everywhere we wanted to visit. The parking is easy and spacious. And the FOOD...wow! I was delighted with every breakfast we were served. We're talking gourmet-quality dishes. Great coffee, too! You can eat at the dining table, on the covered porch (our favorite), or on the back patio. Plenty of room for all the guests. They have coffee, tea, hot cocoa, ice water, microwave popcorn, and even complimentary amaretto available 24/7. I think we had the smallest room, or one of the smallest, and it was still spacious. And don't worry about staying cool in the summer; there is central air as well as in-room air conditioner. Oh, and free Wi-fi. We already have an inquiry about booking next summer. We plan to return every year, if we can. I also want to mention that our hostesses went above and beyond to accommodate food allergies. They were wonderful about it, and still made very delicious and memorable dishes.

THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE BUNGALOW. It was our third time staying at the Bungalow. We were excited to head back to share it with our 5 month old. While we enjoyed our first two visits, the third left a sour taste in our mouth. The owner nickel and dimed us on the security deposit and did not reimburse us the full amount. One of his arguments was we left a phone book on the floor. I emailed him several times and did not get a response. Needless to say, we will not be returning to the Bungalow.

I have to second the first review. This was a great little bed and breakfast just off the main drags of Saugatuck. The food every morning was great and we took full advantage of the free use of some bikes that they provided!

I had the pleasure of staying at Twin Oaks Inn during a three-day "Girls' Getaway" trip to Saugatuck. Within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants, art galleries, and the waterfront, Twin Oaks was an ideally located home base for us during our visit to this charming town. The innkeepers, Sherry and Lisa, recently bought the inn and spent most of the winter remodeling and redecorating it, and they took obvious pleasure in showing us around and pointing out the upgrades they have made. Fortunately, they were careful to retain the stained glass windows, original flooring, and decorative woodwork that give this historic house so much character, while updating bathrooms, replacing furniture, and decorating with color and artwork. The result is a cozy retreat for guests to return to after a day of sightseeing and shopping. My group enjoyed gathering in the great room in the evening for cards and conversation. One especially nice feature of that room that I have not encountered at other B&Bs was a coffee bar, featuring a single-cup coffee maker, microwave, and ice maker for the use of guests. Those of us who are early risers appreciated being able to have coffee on the screened-in porch adjacent to the great room before breakfast. My room, which was located on the first floor, was spacious, attractively furnished and decorated, quiet, and impeccably clean. A large built-in unit on one wall held a wardrobe, desk, flat-screen TV, and mini fridge. There was also an electric fireplace (obviously for colder weather). The king-size bed was very comfortable and loaded with plump pillows, and the newly-renovated bathroom had a wonderful jetted bathtub. No review of a B&B would be complete without mention of the food. Each morning at Twin Oaks brought a unique and delicious breakfast entrée, including several tasty egg dishes and a scrumptious French toast casserole. Each was accompanied by fresh fruit, homemade breads and muffins, and a choice of beverages. Special, gluten-free breakfasts were even prepared each day for one member of our party. Portions served were so generous that most of us were able to skip lunch! Sherry and Lisa know the area well and graciously provided us with information on restaurants, shopping, and local activities. They are both very warm and friendly people and made us feel as if we were their personal guests. We will certainly stay at Twin Oaks again the next time we visit Saugatuck.

My partner and I decided to take a quick getaway for my birthday, and there were very few options that had the dates we wanted - Saturday check-in and Monday check-out. We had never stayed in Saugatuck before and were looking for a queer friendly place. We are very fortunate to have found Twin Oaks Inn by luck. The place has new owners Sherry and Lisa, and they clearly revamped the whole B&B. It's wonderfully redecorated. Because of our last minute booking, we stayed in a room that appeared smaller than the others but reasonably priced. The room was a lot bigger than we had imagined and we were pleased with our choice. While the place was completely booked, it didn't feel crowded at all. Breakfast worked like clockwork with a wide selection of beverages and a friendly smile when you came down the stairs. The people staying were a wide range of people -different races, couples (straight and queer), and even a family with a small boy. Since we were the only ones hanging out on Monday morning, Sherry encouraged us to check out the other rooms. They were all unique and beautiful with their own character and private baths. Each room was worth trying out once, and we are tempted to do just that! Sherry & Lisa were wonderful and hospitable. They knew the area and offered great insight on places to try out. The breakfast was wonderful. My partner is a vegan and they made sure to accommodate her needs. One morning, they made a solely vegan breakfast for us and accommodated me with a side of sausages. I was completely won over. We spent our evenings drinking wine on their enclosed porch. One night, Lisa spotted us and offered to dim the lights and create a more private ambiance - which was sweet. Despite being downtown and close to everything, it felt like a quaint and quiet area because the building is still further back from the main street. We would definitely come again!

My wife and I have been coming here for 3 years, and plan on coming back for another 3. Originally, we chose Twin Oaks because of their close proximity to the town. The parking around town is extremely scarce and can cost you a few extra dollars. However, during our first stay we found many other wonderful features. The rooms are very cozy and affordable. Willa, the Inn Keeper, is very sweet and ready to answer any questions you have. Her breakfasts are always delicious and creative. The french toast casserole on Sunday mornings is not to be missed (we finally got the recipe). If you want a wonderful experience, good meals and the ability to leave your car parked for the entire weekend (if you desire), then choose Twin Oaks.

A charming bed and breakfast run by genuinely lovely people, who manage to be attentive yet unobtrusive. For car-less visitors, innkeeper offers complimentary pick up/drop off service from/to the nearest Amtrak station (located in the town of Holland, some 12 miles away). In our case, that meant an early morning drive in a developing snow storm, much appreciated! Thank you Willa and Sean (sp?), we enjoyed meeting you both.

Just went here for a weekend getaway with my husband. We had such a delightful stay! Not only was this bed and breakfast a stone's throw away from downtown Saugatuck (quick walk but away from foot traffic), but it also provided very comfortable accommodations given the reasonable rate. Our whole room was pretty spacious, especially the bathroom. It was decorated in a Victorian theme, and was very cozy. The room we were in even had an electric fireplace that provided warmth! It also had robes and slippers, which were perfect for lounging in. In the mornings, we received an amazing homemade breakfast prepared by the innkeeper, Willa. During our stay, we sampled homemade french toast, coffeecakes, quiche, sausage, and muffins, as well as coffee and juices. It was served on a long table in an elegant dining room. The inn has some nice features, including an outdoor hot tub, beach towels you can borrow for the beach, and a covered porch with regular chairs and rocking chairs for relaxing. It also offers free parking in a private lot, wifi internet access, and access to a mini-fridge where you can store a few beverages if you need to refrigerate anything. A few minor drawbacks: we heard that the inn had some bikes you could borrow. The woman's bike that was available had a flat tire at the time, so we weren't able to bike ride together. Also, there were only a few drawers for clothing in the room we were in, so it might not be enough for 2 people's clothing for an extended stay, unless you hang some in the closet. Lastly, we noticed that the TV was a bit small (12 inches?), so if you came here intending to see one of the movies that is part of the inn's very large movie collection, the screen is kind of small. However, we found these to be so minor when compared to an otherwise excellent stay. Overall, we were very pleased with the kindness of the innkeeper, the comfort of the room, and the amenities that came with the room and with the inn. We really enjoyed our time here, and would definitely consider staying here in the future!! Willa is delightful, and her breakfasts are scrumptious!

This is a great place to stay. Affordable rates and right in the heart of Saugatuck. The house has everything you need, and the woman who runs it is very kind and allows you access to everything, such as dishes, towels, etc. The breakfast is hearty and delicious. There is a beach nearby with great views and hiking trails/dunes along the beach of Lake Michigan. We rode our bikes there and it only took about 20 minutes. It is a very clean and comfortable place to stay, with a welcoming and cozy atmosphere.

Really pleasant Bed and Breakfast run by a really nice person. I have stayed there several times, always with a group of other people occupying several rooms, so I've seen all of them. UPDATE 7/30/10 -- spent a night there and it's as good as ever, and the town is now improved by a new bike path that's also wonderful.) GOOD FEATURES: -Easy walking distance to downtown shops, restaurants, the waterfront and the unique chain ferry. UPDATE: AND easy access to the new bike path. -Parking for guests so you don't have to cruise around and find a space. -Nicely decorated rooms with private baths, one with a jaccuzi. -Convenient living/dining room, outdoor hot tub, and porches where guests can sit and talk.

My husband and I stayed here for our Anniversary. It was by far the best B&B we have stayed in. From the moment we walked in, we were nothing but impressed. Everything was beautiful, clean and well thought out. It was the perfect location, close enough to the shops and restaurants but tucked away in a peaceful setting. Sherry makes the most amazing breakfast that you could ever want. I can't say enough about this beautiful B&B; stay here, you will not be disappointed.

This was our first B&B experience and it happened to be our honeymoon. Sherry was extraordinary and went out of her way to make sure we had the best time. The rooms are wonderful, bathrooms and beautiful and clean, and the breakfast is the best part. Also, the proximity to downtown and the boardwalk doesn't get any better. We will be recommending this place to all our friends and hope to return someday.
