I started going to Gabriel's about two years ago and haven't stopped since. I've been around to many different cheesesteak joints across the state, and I've even had the pleasure of eating the best cheesesteaks Philadelphia has to offer (Pat's, Tony Luke's, etc.), and while this hoagie isn't quite the same, it's one heck of a fill-in for the real thing. Some complain the bread is not fresh-baked, but it is still tasty and frankly, it keeps the cost down (it's not even 7 bucks for a full sandwich including all toppings). I would definitely recommend getting extra cheese as well as the cherry peppers on the side. My favorite sandwich. An absolute must if you are in the Saline/Ypsilanti area!!

I grew up eating Gabriels cheese steaks. It's new to Salime but an old favorite from those in the ypsi area. We don't get carryout often but we've had the Saline Gabriel's a couple times and they've both been good. Fast service, friendly cashiers and good food.

I stumbled across a review for the Ypsi location and decided to try the Saline one. I never would have noticed that it's in the "new" mall in town if not for Yelp. Finally got a chance to grab lunch there today. The place was busy. The two young ladies at the register were very polite and efficient at the same time. My sandwich was made very quickly. There are a few tables--from the counter right up to the door. That might be cold in the winter! Because of the tight quarters, this place would only be good for a group of up to 4, unless you are able to push two tables together. I ordered the steak and cheese hoagie with mushrooms and peppers. If you like a little spice, definitely get the peppers. They also have the peppers for sale by the jar. The sandwich comes wrapped in several layers of paper. Good thing, because it's juicy. Good value for the price. Next time I'll bring the hubby and split a salad, too.

Searching for food at a place I've never tried, so I thought I give this a try. I wasn't dissapointed. If you want a good cheap hoagie, stop here. very fast service too.

My disclaimer is that I learned about hoagies and cheese steaks in Philly. Leaving was tough because I know about the lack of such food in the Midwest. So when friends told me how great Gabriels was I was excited. I am no longer excited. No better than if you made it from ingredients found at a grocery store. The bread was the biggest disappointment. I won't go back.

No frills menu - cheese steak is excellent! I always get provolone and hot peppers on my steak but skip the mushrooms. Hidden gem on the menu is the lunch meat special.

I just had Gabriel's for the first time a couple months ago & then had it again a few days later because their cheesesteaks are amazing! Super fast & very friendly service. When we ate in with our two young children, the woman at the counter brought my son crayons & coloring sheets & brought our food out to us. The cherry peppers are beyond amazing & I advise buying a jar to take home because they are good on just about everything... I even just ate them on tortilla chips like salsa once lol! Great price too so if you're looking to get fast food in Saline but don't want basic "fast food" then this place is the best! Kind of wish they had French fries but that's my only complaint!

Came here after driving past one day on my way back to work from the post office. Did a little research and found that if you go to Gabriel's website, they have a coupon for free chips and drink with purchase for awhile longer. Went in and decor was plain... was about 1:30, only one in there, so probably was done with lunch rush. Got the Steak Hoagie (only like, 3 sandwich choices or a sald, and that's it). Got it with mushrooms and red pepper relish on the side, along with Lay's and a fountain pepsi. It was a pretty good sandwich overall... filling was definitely the best part as the steak and mushrooms were tender and juicy. If you more of a cheese fan, get extra cheese as the regular serving kind of got lost. The bread was kind of "eh," nothing special... not much crunch or taste at all. Dibella's has much fresher, more crusty and substantial bread. Overall, I would come here more often if the bread was more substantive and definitely with the combo coupon... with the coupon and adding mushrooms, it ended up being under 7 bucks for a full meal, which is a pretty good deal. I'll probably come again when work is a drag and I want to get out and get some beefy goodness. Definitely recommend more than the nearby Jets or McD's or Wendy's.

The new spot in Saline is every bit as tasty as the original! Either call or ahead or plan to wait a few minutes as the sandwiches are made when you order and they've been busy. Have to get the hot peppers! Grew up on the east cast near Sandtown, DE where the original San-Del Packing company started making those peppers. Get extra napkins 'cuz you're going to wipe some juice! They follow the old adage of "do one thing and do it well."
