I am really impressed that this awesome coffee shop exists here in Saginaw. The location is cool, right in downtown Saginaw close to trendy restaurants and bars and unique shops. The ambiance makes me feel like I'm in a hip coffee shop on the west coast. The coffee shop music played also adds to the good vibes. And the COFFEE! The coffee is some of the best I've ever tasted. I tried the S'more and the Oatmeal Cookie. Both had unique, distinct flavors. Forget Starbucks, they got nothing on Red Eye, my new coffee shop stop.

Love it! Love it, love it, love it! Love the ambiance, love the brand of coffee they use, love the pricing... serious, what's not to love!? I've never been big into buying coffee... but this will change now that the Red Eye is just down the street!

If you want a quaint, cozy place. The red eye is your home town coffe shop. The baristas are awesome. They have such a variety of coffees, you are bound tonfind sonething that will please ur palette. There are usually a few sweets available also. Dont forget a bagel with the most delicious veggie cream cheese. Prices start at $1.50 up to $4.50.

I wasn't really impressed. My mom and I stopped in on a Monday afternoon and there was one couple there, no barista to be found. Once we got to the counter the lady sitting got up to help us. She wasn't overly friendly. Perhaps we were interrupting her break. We ordered a couple lattes and I was grossed out that she didn't wipe off the steaming wand (the was a film of milk leftover from the last drink) before she made our drinks. The cafe was super cute though with all mix match furniture and my mocha tasted alright. Seems like it could have potential.

They have every coffee flavor I can think of, and what I like best is they have a great array of sugar free flavors as well. The coffee is always fresh and their waitstaff friendly. I'd like to see them expand into a bit bigger of a place, but that's a good thing. :)

If you want to avoid the sort of high pressure, high dollar airheads of other coffee places, pick the Red Eye. Nice, relaxed, really awesome staff.

Whimsical decor, friendly staff, but best of all was the menu! Highly recommend checking it out.

A brown brick interior with colorful art greets you as you walk into this room of a coffee house. The feel I get is 90's post grunge and sort of matches the characters that sit inside here at the present. You know you're in an eclectic place when your barista is wearing a boy scout shirt and a caffeine molecule necklace. She made my drink to order and I tried the most unsweetened version of the Oatmeal latte. It was good, reminiscent of Oatmeal but not in your face sweet. The only problem is that they only take green, cash only.

Only place in Saginaw for an eclectic setting and a good cup of coffee. The patrons are as diverse as the selection of drinks and, although at times sketchy, I have never felt unsafe as others suggest I should. The brick walls, decorated ceiling, and curious art on the walls is enough to keep anyone busy. The service was mediocre and the girl behind the counter was not friendly at all... I wouldn't have minded but she also took forever to make the drinks so to say the least, I wasn't very impressed with the service. As I sat there for the next few hours, other employees came and went and they were seemingly more friendly so maybe it was just an off day. The drink quality is good. Some of the drinks are way too sweet so choose wisely and order to your own preference if you're worried, I'm sure they won't mind. Free Wi-Fi is a plus for the college crowd looking to get some work done. It got loud at some times, so if you need peace and quiet then this might not be the place you're looking for. There is a back room though, which seems considerably more quiet. Overall I was happy with the experience, but then again... I don't have much of a choice seeing that the next best coffee house in the area is Starbucks. I will go back when I need to get off campus and get some work done and if someone asks, I'll suggest it. But nothing to rave about...

Another trip for me down memory lane. I used to go to this place when I was visiting Saginaw. Sometimes If I wanted to read (pre-WIFI days - yes they did exist at one time) I would grab a book and make the 25 minute drive just to come here and read it. I would sometimes take people here and one time I even met a girl here for a date that turned out VERY well. This coffee-shop belongs to the same family as Cafe du Marquis in Royal Oak. They are both equally cool if different, and yet they both have the antique random chair thing happening so maybe they are separated at birth brother and sister. The atmosphere is very nice. The walls are like that cool brickwork you see at some places and they have artwork from local artists displayed on the walls, usually for sale. The entrance is guarded by gargoyles, as you can see in the pic of the singing guy. One of the most interesting aspects of this place is the men's bathroom. I dunno if it's still like this but when I used to go the walls were painted white with black pokadots of different sizes. I always wondered what it would be like if I were tripping on acid (never have - no seriously!) or something and was in there. It was already trippy when I was completely sober. Meanwhile the coffee was always good, and yes - it was smoker friendly!! During the warmer times they put a couple of tables with chairs out in front. It's always got people in it. Usually it's busy, but not too busy. They are open until midnight and when it gets dark they put tea-lights on the table to create a cool vibe. Oh ya - good selection of tea both bagged and loose-leaf! There are bars right next door so if you wanted to go have drinks then finish with a coffee -at least until midnight - you could do just that. I just really like this place. If I ever, for whatever reason, decide to go to Saginaw in the future I will almost certainly make it a point to stop here for coffee. I was actually a little surprised this place hadn't been reviewed yet. If you check it out, let me know what ya think. This place holds some memories for me from another lifetime.
