The food is NOT the same as the Ada location. We were expecting the same quality but it was definitely not the same quality ingredients and very subpar. The gluten free pizza is awful. Like a thin, soggy, bland wafer barely able to hold toppings. The Greek salad was limp and flavorless. Worst was the ultra-Christian, in your face decor... It was like a meal at grandmas house with a shrine to Jesus. I don't worship Jesus, but don't mind if others do, but a pizza joint hardly seems the place to do it. A church? Yes.

Not as good as the Ada or Comstock Park versions, but I know they are all different. One weird thing is they serve spegetti meat sauce with their breadsticks. My big breadstick eating daughters did not care for that. But it was quick and service was good.

I have eating their deluxe sub for 25 plus years. I always add mushrooms and sausage. Wow this is great.

Have eaten there for 30 + years and love it for what it is ....an old, small town hotel converted to restaurant that does a great job of providing good food at very reasonable price with great help serving it. As a local, I look at it as a treasure not to be confused with chain locations trying to make the same taste in NY and CA.

Quick review here of lunch I just had. Salad - good portion and taste good dressing. 3 Spaghetti with sausage - bland and watery. Not enough sauce. Just plain. So unfortunate. 1 Garlic bread - definitely tasty 5 Service - 5 attentive and helpful and fast. The main dish ruins it

I read some of the other reviews for Vitale's in downtown Rockford and am surprised at how many of them are negative. Our family of five eats here almost every Friday or Saturday night and we love it. Yes, its located in an old house and is far from being new, however its locally owned and certainy has more character than Pizza Hut or some of the other chain places putting out commercialized, cardboard like pizza with imitation cheese. We love Vitale's made from scratch crust, made from scratch sauce, and the fresh toppings, many of which are sourced locally. In our opinion it's some of the best pizza in metro GR and better than some of the other area Vitale's locations. Service is great, its never overly crowded, is economical, and has a great "small town pizzeria" feel. We strongly recommend Vitale's in downtown Rockford.

Horrible! Worst place i ever ate at my whole life! please stop recommending this place! There is no way in hell it should ha e this good a rating, if you wanna know look at google for more accurate comments. An ex bf took me here 4 years ago. It is like grandmas broken down durty house. It looks like they never clean and scary thing is that was what you can see. If this place was in ny it would have been shut down. Mix and match chairs. The lady that took our order was an old crab i think she may have been the owner. We were the only ones there at lunch. I ordered lasagna thinking it can only be so bad, my bf at the time ordered a burrito or something idk why they also had Mexican food on the menu. SO GROSS! Stoffers makes a better lasagna! It had over cooked noodles, was like a soggy mooshy pile of cheese. No meat inside looked like a store bought can of meat sauce was dumped on top. Nasty! When i said i didn't like it the lady got mad, and i had to tell her it was mushy (like something made in a way for a person with no teeth could eat.) She refused to take it back, and it just sat there. then she put it on the bill anyway I told my bf not to pay for it. But he did anyway. I have been to a ton of restaurant my whole life. This was the worst place i have ever been! Like right out of Kitchen Nightmares bad. Like the extra bad kitchen nightmares episodes.

So Yea. I went to this place thinking..." The Vitale's in Grand Rapids is pretty good and nothing else is open, so I'll eat here." OMFG was I wrong. The food was TERRIBLE. Not to mention if you don't accept Jesus as your personal lord and savior then you are in the wrong place. There were so many crosses on the wall I thought there may have been a vampire outside. I ordered a the pasta primavera and it tasted like freezer burn mixed with watered down tomato juice. I have never put so much salt, pepper and parmesan on anything in my life to get it to come to life and it didn't work! The restaurant looks, smells and feels like an old retirement home. What the hell happened? This can't be the same Vitale's as the one on Leonard Street? Can it?

Pizza was fine. But the Italian dishes are not good. Sauce has no flavor and very watery.

So the pizza is good yes and the breadsticks seem like they could be very addicting so you should just try them and get over with it. 3 stars because the food was good but I do have some issues that might not bring me back. We are a family of 4 soon and while the small town house style restaurant is charming to some I felt cramped and uncomfortable. No booze was kind of a bummer but I could do without it for a night out wit the family. Unfortunately the one thing I'll remember about this place will always be the bathroom. We joked about it the whole ride home. I stood in the middle and could have touched all four walls at the same time. I could have sat on the toilet and washed my hands at the same time. Think airplane bathroom but with a picture of Jesus on the wall instead of a warning message. You've been warned...go before you go.

I LOVE the sauce for the breadsticks at this location! It is the best ever. The breadsticks are fantastic and cheap. They have half-off pizza deals certain days of the week

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
