This isn't your ordinary cider mill. I can't review it for its cider or its donuts (honestly haven't tried it yet) like every cider mill you go to, but this place actually sells real food. They have a large menu considering its a cider mill. I can't speak for all the items they have because I haven't tried it. What I have tried is their BBQ. One of the best I have tried. On the very far left menu is the items that are made with their smoker, a real one and not gas heated one. I think if you're gonna spend the time to smoke meats I'd rather have it the old fashioned way in a real wood fired smoker. I've tried their pulled pork sandwich and their brisket sandwich so far and it's been awesome. It's my new go to place for my BBQ fix locally. The people are honestly friendly and its a great pit stop for all the people traveling paint creek trail (runners, walkers, bikers, etc.). They've got a good selection of food, got cider and donuts (obviously), ice cream and its variations (malts, root beer floats, sundaes, etc.), homemade sodas on tap, and even some other things like jams and honeys. I only recently found out when stopping for a break there while biking that they sold real food when I saw them adding wood to the smoker while I was resting. The next time I stopped by I brought my wallet and my appetite. Today, I did the same but brought some friends to enjoy the food as well. Awesome!

I stopped off once again for lunch during a long bike ride. Due to the nearby bridge being out, the place was empty. I was the only customer at 12:30PM on a Sunday. This time I ordered a Apple Bacon Grilled Cheese Sandwich. Are you kidding me? Stop it! This guy is off the hook with his cooking! Now I can't ever eat another kind of grilled cheese ever again. Thick, grill bread with melted cheese, thick bacon and slices of apple touched off with a little Dijon mustard. OMG! It was the best sandwich I remember eating in my lifetime. Run, don't walk to order some lunch! Keep this place in business. Please!

Great selection of fall treats from Apple Carmel bread pudding to flavored Michigan honey. The pulled pork sandwich was fantastic! Their home made bread was great too. Very close to the paint creak trail. I would recommend this over Yates any time. No crowds just great donuts, cider, sandwiches, ice cream and more.

Yesterday I stopped in and ordered a meatball sub. It was served on a very tough roll with sauce, that tasted like Prego, 3 meatballs and cheese. The meatballs were very dry and flavorless. They were awful. The owner said everything is made from scratch. I really question his truthiness.

"Meh, I've experienced better" is a perfect discription of this cider mill. Growing up in the area, I've had the pleasure of frequenting many of the cider mills in the burbs of detroit. This one just doesn't compare as well as the others. When you drive up, the building looks pretty cool, so they've got that going for them. But once you get inside, your experience begins to decline. What kind of cider mill sells sandwiches? I want cider and dounts. And maybe some pies and sweets. But sandwiches? Is this a restaurant? I just don't know. Anyway, I walked in and ordered my typical family order- dozen cinammon dounts and a 1/2 gallon of cider. The cider was priced on par with other cider mills, and was pretty good. The dounts were sadly not warm when I received them, and tasted a little stale. And they didn't have the same texture as other cider mill dounts I've had in the past. Frankly, my donut experience was a let down- one that will keep me from coming back to this cider mill. One cool thing they did have though- a bike repair station. This mill is located on the paint creek trail (duh) they have free air and a tire fixing station. Pretty cool I must say.

I absolutely love this place! Most of the reviews below talk about their ice cream and cider.. But their food is AWESOME, and I find myself craving their pierogies and French fries pretty often. The soups are great, too! Everything I've had from here I've been more than pleased with; & I'm pretty sure they make everything from scratch. The owner even has his own root beer recipe! He seems passionate about what he does and the food he prepares. Pretty cool. Plus, I like the vibe of the inside, as well- and have experienced great service! :)

This is a great location to get away from downtown and enjoy donuts and cider, and good food! We like stopping by and enjoying their sandwiches like the pulled pork and reuben, both are good. Their burgers are also good. They also make their own soda with sugar cane, give it a try.

We just ordered our first pizzas from Paint Creek tonight. I will start with the pros: Excellent service. My kids were in the car and since PC doesn't deliver, I asked if someone could bring my order to the car when I pulled up and they said yes! She even came out with a smile. The pizzas smelled amazing. Amazing! The cheese was nice and golden, not overdone, and the toppings were a good quality. Now the cons: The crust wasn't that great. It was more like white bread dough than pizza dough and may have been overworked. The sauce had a very sweet flavor, like canned pasta sauce. If I liked sauce from a jar, I might like this more. I gave a four star rating because of the service. Overall, the pizza was ok. We will probably give them another try to see if the crust is better next time.

This is one of my favorite places for bbq. Their pulled pork and brisket sandwiches are amazing! My husband and I love coming here for a pit stop while biking on paint creek trails. The bbq is smoked from the smoker outside so you can really taste the smokiness in the meats. Their portions are pretty generous especially since they don't skimp on the meat! This is now my favorite BBQ place and cider mill. We brought our friend and his girlfriend and she said the vegetarian wrap is really good!! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone! :D

This cider mill is convenient for a quick stop! They have different flavors of cider. I like all of them. So yummy. We usually go for pumpkins and acorn squash too. They have reasonable prices for this farm fresh fare. The outside is decorated like a farm and the inside feels like stepping into an old barn. It's usually really cool inside.

They charge a sur charge to use credit card, place is dirty, and simply a convenience store with store bought apples, and cider. Put in a slury machine and a hot dog rotissorie, sell cigarettes and be done with it

CASH ONLY!!!! I like going to this place! Cider and donuts are good! Unfortanantly the dont make thier own cider... it gets shipped in but it is still good! They also have a little lunch menu.... Hot dogs are good! Love the Fact that it right off of the paint creek trail! Dogs are allowed on the patio!

This place is as much a cider mill as Farmer Jack. They dont even have a press anymore, it was sold when the mill changed hands years back. All of their cider is purchased from another mill. The cider is pasteurized so it is not true cider. Big dissapointment. The water wheel is fake, it powers nothing, but looks nice.

I am not a donut person, but this place has the BEST donuts ever!!!! Came here on a Saturday afternoon, ordered a gallon of cider and a dozen donuts, both were amazing!! Donuts come out hot and fresh, and cider is some of the best I've had. I would highly recommend this place for a cool, fall afternoon, or even a warm day--as they also have a wide variety of ice cream. Another cool feature--it's right along the paint creek trail, so you can easily ride your bike, walk, or jog here.

Sept 2010-We parked by the cider mill and went for a lovely 10 mike bike ride. Finished with a cone of blue moon ice cream. Great new place-great prices!

This review is for the mill only. Hands down the best sugar donuts in the state are produced here. Hot and fresh, paired with the best cider in the state. Growing up we used to ride our bikes here every weekend in the fall. The scenery is beautiful with the river running along side. God I miss this place!
