If you are expecting authentic Chinese and Thai restaurant, keep on going. BUT, for the area, they do have pretty good selection and they tasted pretty good. It's a family owned business, and service was friendly. Their beef lomein was good, wonton soup pretty decent. They have good hot chili oil, to spike the food a bit. All in all, good food for the area but do not come expecting really authentic.

Fed up! Not sure what has happened to this place! We have been coming to the resturant for a very long time and this past year the service has gone down hill! So disappointing! Yesterday, we waited 15 minutes to be seated, 30 minutes just to get our soup and another 50 minutes for our meal. A Tuesday night. Not overly busy. 3 waitresses working. This is not the first time this has happened. We decided to give it another try thinking maybe they were just having an off day the last 2 times! Nope. While sitting there waiting, we saw one family, who had already eaten their soup, get up and walk out without even paying. Another older couple were standing at the register waiting to pay...no one came to them, so they walked out. Another man came in to pick up a take out order and was standing and waiting for at least 20 minutes...he also walked out. Tables around us remained dirty the whole time we were there, which was almost 2 hours! It was almost like our waitress was doing the dishes...waiting on people....and cooking the food all by herself. And takeout is a joke. When you call in an order, they tell you it will be ready in 20-25 minutes. You get there and you still have to wait another 20-25 minutes everytime! Ive come to the conclusion that they start making it when you arrive to pick it up. Poor poor service. If you are hungry and in a hurry this is not the place to go! I honestly felt bad for the happy, hungry people walking in. -Sorry, but Never again.

Perhaps the worst Chinese we have ever had, and definitely the worst Thai ever. THE FOOD In desperation we ate in Houghton Lake one night of our trip. We drove around for nearly and hour and settled on this place for take out. The Chicken and Broccoli was the heavily breaded and sauced slop you'd find in any shopping mall food court. But the Thai dishes took the cake....I have never seen the use of corn starch based sauce in Thai food. They have taken bad Thai to a new low. THE SERVICE Very friendly, mostly worked by the children of the owners. THE ATMOSPHERE Set in an old misshapen house...it was quaint, but also very unkept. I really feel sorry for those who have to eat out in Houghton Lake. There are no real choices it seems.

I was here on vacation with my family and took a chance. Very glad we did. Excellent service and the food and portions were very good. Most food is mild. If you want it hot be sure to ask. Highly recommend.

Not bad. Not the best Chinese or Thai menu on earth, but not the worst either. Over the years I have had most of the items on this little establishment's extensive menu. For the most part everything is edible, and if you know what you like, and how they tend to cook, you can get a very good meal here. Everything if ordered without comment tends to be bland and overly sweet. Their brown sauce though is very good, and you can get decent Thai food from this place if you ask for less sweet, more chili. Skip the egg rolls ( taste like they spent the night in the fridge) and the egg drop soup ( gloppy mess) and order something with brown sauce / extra spicy, and you will be happy. Also, do not come here on a schedule, everything takes about 45 minutes to serve whether it is busy or not.

Easily the greatest place to eat on earth! Hands down... I wish this place would deliver to me living in Chicago... But, I have a feeling it would taste bad when it got to my house. Establish a place here in Chicago!!!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
