I really love this place. It's tough to find Mexican tacos in the northern Metro Detroit that are both authentic, and good quality. I have been to all of the Mexican restaurants in Pontiac, Waterford, etc, and was disappointed by all of them for one reason or another. This is the only one that I really can't say one bad thing about. The food is fresh. I have had many tacos here, as well as the patron fries (really cool concept, I'd recommend trying them!), flautas and chimichangas. All were delicious. And the price is fair. The restaurant itself is very clean, and the employees are always friendly. They also have a little side bar where you can take all the salsa, radishes, or other garnishes your heart desires. And their menu has pictures of every item for those that are not as familiar with Mexican dishes. For those that might be worried about the safety of the location, don't worry! This is in a nice part of Pontiac. And the private lot is a nice plus. My only wish is that they had a Taco Tuesday deal, or something similar.

We did not stay to eat, although it was clean, bright, and the staff were friendly...this is a cafeteria style, (Subway or Qdoba style) restaurant. Not what we were looking for to sit & visit with friends we haven't seen in years. Too bad. Wish we had known this before making the drive. We did not notice anything posted about the style of restaurant. I still give it 4 stars due to all we did see about the place & all the customers looked happy.

We kind of got lost on our way to DTE. So glad we did...because we found this place. I got on my Yelp app and saw that we were close to this place, but didn't want to be late for our concert so I called to see if there would be a wait. The lady who answered the phone didn't understand what I was talking about, when we arrived and I saw that it was cafeteria style I could see why she was confused by my question. The manager (owner?) was very friendly and even gave us an order of chips so we could try all of their amazing salsa...fyi, the creamy green medium spice one was the best. At our table was a good variety of tacos, a taco salad and a steak quesadilla. All very fresh and authentic. It was served quickly and we made it to the concert with time to spare!

Hey First time here, but impressive! The tastes and flavors of the chicken cheese and beef is awesome. My daughter had the chicken quesidilla and it was really tasty and delicious. We will have to try this place again with potentially upgrading our rating. It was not greasy at all. The tacos were amazing and flavorful. Service, food came out quickly. Yea, a hole in the wall and not a sit down server waitresses, but the prices were right on inexpensive. So fantastic!

Nice food, great prices. Lovely horchata. Had the #10 with shredded chicken and corn tortillas. The medium hot sauce was my favorite.

All I can say is wow. Best shrimp tacos I have ever had, the shrimp were crisp and fresh with a lime and cilantro kicked topped with a rope avocado slice, pure deliciousness. I've tried most of the other meats here on my tacos and they are all five star worthy! This place has bizarre foods like cow head and pork parts, if you're into the whole Andrew Zimmern thing. This place is a hole in the wall gem!

Very very good! I had the 3 soft meal with the marinated pork, beans and rice. I love authentic Mexican food and this place is as authentic as they get. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful when it came to helping make my choice. I love the salsa bar where you can mix different salsas together. It was excellent and I'll be back.

Authentico! I've eaten here a bunch so time to write the review. Good: Tacos, Burritos, Sopes. All the protein options are good. My faves are Asada and Adobada. The salsa bar is solid and they have pickled jalapeños and carrots too! Flash your work badge and you get a discount at lunch. OK: Chile Relleno, Fish Taco and Cerviche. All tasted good and are a little more challenging as far as Mexican food goes. I wouldn't usually risk it but this place was good enough to try them. Not the best I've ever had but so far the best in MI.

This place has the best of everything that's all I can say. The chimi is heaven in your mouth I usually get it with shredded beef. Tamales are delicious and fresh too. Quesadillas are awesome too. My co workers loves their chicken tacos but I haven't tried it yet. If you haven't ate hear you need too. They have reasonable prices too

First timer. Nothing fancy, but very clean. A lot of choices on menu, but not like a large Restsurant. It's an order off the wall then pick up or will bring order to your table. I had the 3 red enchiladas (pork) with rice and beans. The pork was over cooked and very dry, would not order again. They had a nice salsa selection at their salsa bar. Not a place to go out of your way for. I probably will not return. At least not for the enchilada.

If you are looking for Mexican, This is the place. Yum! I give 5 star rating based on the quality of the food and the fact that I will go back for more. But the atmosphere is merely adequate. Not to say it is a 'hole in the wall' but it 'environmentally' it does not compete with the likes of Miguel's or Rojo. We stopped in based on the reviews, especially that of Valentina V. Definitely good food! The place is clean. The staff are friendly. Prices are fair. Soft Tacos were fresh and flavor packed. 'Thought I was back in Silao... ' Can't find anything negative to write about this authentic Mex place. It is all about the food here.

This place is great fresh authentic Mexican food, not trying to be foo foo trendy or upscale. You order at the window, get a number and take a seat, and while you wait get yourself some fresh salsa or hot sauce from the salsa bar. There's plenty of seating and they can get pretty busy. They were busy at lunch when I stopped by, but they keep the food moving. You can call in your order so if your in a hurry try that. The food is great and you cant go wrong if your looking for the real thing.

Location is a little out of the way. But this place is worth it! Can't go wrong with anything there. I got combo #1 with steak, pork belly and beef tongue which came with a side of rice and beans. You get a bottled drink - pineapple jarritos all the way. Try the fried shells on the tacos - they are extra fresh. Patron fries ask for them extra crispy!

Real Mexican food, clean really clean with nice environment, good for kids. Food tastes awesome. Only down side is they don't sell beer. They do take all major credit cards, located in a safe place with parking lot. Inexpensive.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
