I called in a carry out. When I arrived for pick up the diner was semi busy but I received a warm sincere greeting. My food was ready a head of time so I paid and left. The carry out was correct and had plastic ware included. The food was tasty. Farmland omelette was good, biscuits and gravy was great. My wife ordered cinnamon raisin French toast and was disappointed she expected more cinnamon flavor and it to taste sweeter. Overall nice diner full of locals including local police, bikers, hunters and families. Very nice small town feel.

Had a wonderful breakfast here on a crisp Saturday morning. I got the farmers skillet and my guest the veggie omelet both were delectable. The coffee was a plenty and the waitress very friendly. They also have the coffee news to keep you entertained whilst you wait, not that it was very long!

The Pinckney Diner is quintessentially Pinckney. While dining on a recent sunny Sunday morning, our group enjoyed most of the diner breakfast staples - pancakes, biscuits and gravy, French toast, hash browns, eggs, etc. - all quite satisfying, but nothing particularly remarkable. In particular, the pancakes, though golden brown and fluffy in appearance, were slightly dry and lacking in flavor. The interior was clean and bright with a pleasant, family-friendly ambience, and the service was prompt, if not particularly personable.

Had their fish and chips today...didn't really care for the fish...smelled fishy and seemed a bit off in flavor. The tartar sauce is not good...well, I didn't like it. Otherwise, my girlfriend had the chicken gyro and it was awesome! So we had mixed reviews this time.

This place amuses me. The food is consistantly mediocre. Never go on Sunday after 12 noon, no help and weak service. Asked for dinner rolls and flat out denied! No desserts either. WTF! Can't anyone make coleslaw anymore? Attend this place only at last resort. AMEN

In the last four years the overall experience at the Pinckney Diner has slipped enormouslyThe service is awful and to multiply that rude stares from the servers ices the cake.Job One in the service industry is get the food to the table while it's hot.To see it sitting on the counter as servers walk by it is unacceptable.Be warned!

I really like the idea of this place, just wish the food was not so non-descript. Coming back from strawberry picking at DeGroot's we were hungry. High noon mid week and the place was packed. Food must me something special or people are getting a 3-day start on the holiday weekend. Not the case - result of power outages so they were much busier than normal. Waiting was okay. Ordered BLT's. When you're hungry things taste better. But wonder bread and a layer of mayo did little to interest my taste buds. Deluxe came with fries and coleslaw. By the time the coleslaw came it was more like dessert. Even adding a quantity of salt & pepper did little to add flavor. Probably had to wait for them to make a new batch or maybe run to the store due to unanticipated business. Fries were forgettable. Has to be a tough market in such a small town where most business is probably seasonal. Wonder about the Bistro place next door...

My husband and I came to the diner with our two year old son when we were in the area looking at a rental home. It wasn't busy but we got seated right away and the ladies who worked there were SUPER nice. My son got milk right away, and he even ordered his own rice (he's 2) which isn't normally a side but they were able to substitute it for his side with his grilled cheese. I have no complaints about the people or the service. The food is what you would expect out of a neighborhood diner, certainly not 5 star cuisine but again, no complaints. Since we'll be renting a house a few minutes away I'm sure we'll be back when we want some good diner food!

We trekked our family to this diner for their Friday all you can eat fish fry. Having three teenage boys that love fried fish, seemed like a perfect choice. The food was good, the server was really nice, but this is the second visit and same story as the first visit last year: slow-ass kitchen. The place was NOT busy, or at least it didn't look busy. All of us got our food while one of the teens had to sit and wait 15 minutes and I am not exaggerating. The waitress kept coming to the table and apologizing. Checking the window, etc, but no food. Nothing was offered in compensation. I fed the kid my dinner to tied him over. We were all starving. The portions were great and this place would be choice all around - if the darn kitchen was better.
