This amazing ! While visiting Potoskey we look for a nice place that would be more of a healthy option. When we arrived we found a small but popping restaurant. When you enter go all the way to the back to order, and when you see a free table, grab it while you can. The food was amazing and so reasonably priced. They offered a half sandwhich (that seemed more like a whole one) and a cup of soup under $10. I recommend the tomato basil soup it was the best I have ever had. Higley recommend this place, stop looking and go!

Excellent choice for lunch! I couldn't get enough of this place and visited them twice during my stay in Harbor Springs. Fast, fresh and friendly service. The soups are homemade and offer a variety of fun sandwiches.

If you're looking for a place with creative and fresh tasting sandwiches this is the place. The bread is fresh and delicious and the sun dried tomato additions are great. My husband had the California club with sun dried tomatoes and was deeply impressed - he's hard to please! I had the Gotta Try This and I liked the sun dried tomato mayo addition.

Club sandwich? I'm joining! The club was made to perfection, with locally sourced ingredients. Tomato basil soup was awesome as well. The atmosphere in this place is great. I highly recommend it.

Had an excellent chicken salad sandwich. Menu had lots of really yummy choices. Staff was very friendly. And I loved the decor, like an old fashioned diner. Try it. You will love it'

It's difficult to find unique and delicious soup and sandwich shops. This is one not to miss. Everything is fresh and their own recipes. Hearty grainy bread options or basic wheat or white for picky eaters. I had the #1 California Turkey Club. Fabulous crunchy, grainy bread with turkey, crisp high quality bacon, avocado, sundried tomato mayo, and roasted tomatoes...oh my!!

A great place for lunch! The breads with which they make their sandwiches are fabulous (and apparently come from Crooked Tree Bakery). However, this is not the place to come if you're in a great hurry -- they take their time in making these sandwiches. My mom had the brie/ham sandwich, which was toasted and all gooey and warm and absolutely delicious. I had the turkey and avocado, which was good, but not all that flavorful.

A beautiful, fresh and inviting place. However, seating can be an issue- this place is wonderfully busy so be sure to get a seat- there is also seating outside round the corner. As for the food it was great flavor and for great price

Great place to stop in for lunch. I had the number 1 California turkey club and it was amazing the bread was great, the meat was on point and the tomato mayo was to die for. Also had the tomato basil soup since the place has tomato in the name. That was amazing too. All in all great little place!!! Must stop for lunch when in our driving through Petosky.

Best sandwiches in petoskey. You gotta try #11: turkey, avacado, sprouts, and sun dried tomato mayo. Yum yum yum. Can't replicate that one at home, it's worth the $8.50 at julienne tomatoes. Also, the lemon raspberry tarts are what dreams are made of.

As good as advertised! Excellent sandwiches with fresh ingredients, I wish I could try every sandwich on the menu! I had the Hamill's Ham...great warm sandwich with melted cheese and perfect amount of honey mustard for a little zip. Friendly service and warm decor and atmosphere. My kids spilled their drink on the floor and the staff came to quickly clean it up without complaint. Prices also reasonable...Will definitely come back!

Incredible food and outstanding service. The Cheddar Ale soup with Buffalo pretzels was killer. For a deli style restaurant, the service rivaled that of many sit down restaurants. The food offerings makes me want to come back to try something else. The service and staff will ensure that I do.

Great food. Excellent customer service and a a super friendly environment. Julienne Tomatoes seems to attract the best of the community. It never fails that you run into someone you know, or meet a new friend there. The sandwiches are excellent and the environment is as cozy and inviting as it gets. One of the best spots to enjoy lunch in Petoskey.

Excellent! I frequent this place a couple times of week for lunch and it is fantastic. Great sandwiches, organized behind the counter, always a lunch crowd, and friendly staff. I was impressed when I met the owner and then a few days later she recalled my name - and every time I come back they remember my name. The staff is knowledgeable, has their act together, and manages to be both friendly and expedient. Good memories aside, the food is tasty!

Everything we've had here has been delicious. The gazpacho is to die for! Great sandwiches, great baked goods; you can't go wrong with anything really! The Gotta Try This sandwich is amazing! Only complaint...prices are a little high. For a sandwich and bowl of soup it runs about $16.

Love this place. Could not get in the first time we tried during a driving rainstorm so we settled for Jimmy Johns, never again, First we did not understand that seating is communal so there was room and we discovered it is worth the wait. I had the "It's all Greek to me". It was the perfect blend of greek flavors and a large amount of food. My wife ordered a great quiche. We split the tomato basil soup, quite tasty. We will return, rain or shine.

We had a wonderful lunch! The staff is very welcoming, courteous, and attentive. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. My husband ordered the cabbage soup and California club. His expectations were exceeded, as he thoroughly enjoyed both selections. I ordered Drew's Delight, and was equally happy! The artichokes were great and the grilled parm bread was delicious. All ingredients were fresh and everything was very well-made. You get the feeling that this place is truly a labor of love. All in all, a great place. We'll definitely come back for more! YUM!!! :)

Visited recently with my bride, agree with other posts regarding the seating, ordered the California turkey club, very good, very healthy!

Very cool place with tremendous atmosphere. Highly recommend the #11 toasted or the chicken salad on cranberry pecan bread (the chicken can be a bit dry, but the flavor is really good). Top it off with a ginormous cookie. You deserve it.

We enjoyed our sandwiches. The place was busy while we were there - around noon time on a Saturday.

My husband & I were passing through during our wonderful vacation in Mackinaw City after hearing of this charming and beautiful town. We checked yelp to find a place for lunch and we're directed here. What a charming restraunt! The staff were pleasant, the food was great and the restraunt was clean and cozy! Suggestion: find a flag with a tomato on it or something similar so you are easier to see from main business area;) I hope to visit again someday!

Lunch here today. Coffee was perfect. The people who work here are always pleasant and helpful. Food is always fresh. Great sandwiches and a good variety. Interesting specials like the turkey sandwich on zucchini bread today. Tasty.

Great lunch a bit off the beaten path in Petosky but so worth the stroll. The service is a 10, the smiles and kindness surpass the service. Thanks Cally for your kind words and of course the treat!!

What an amazing place! It was clear to one of the employees we were first timers here so she quickly welcomed us. She explained to us how we needed to order at the counter and quickly made some menu recommendations. Apparently the Saturday breakfast menu is special and THE day to get breakfast here. I had cherry pecan French toast and my wife had eggs and potato pancakes which were both great. Bacon was amazing! Great coffee choices and the friendly employee even gave us to go cups. Will definitely go again- maybe even for lunch today. Great food and great service.

Really great food . Space is limited so it can get crowded . They are well staffed and turn / clean tables quickly .

This is a bright spot in downtown Petoskey. The service is always very friendly and you can tell the owners care about their customers and their community. The food is good, the atmosphere is casual and homey. Great spot for coffee or lunch.

This is just great food in a funky setting with wonderful people to take care of you. This place is fun, tasty and innovative with their food. Cafeteria style with chalk boards filled with great items to choose from. The soups are awesome. Great coffee! Don't miss this place for a jump off the tourist train.

We were in MIchigan for a week in August and stopped at Julienne Tomatoes twice for lunch. The food was spectacular, and fairly priced. My one complaint is with the woman who takes your orders and money. She has quite the attitude and lack of personality. I guess you might contribute this to "having a bad day" but we went twice, and experienced her lovely attitude twice. This minor annoyance would not prevent me from going again for their yummy food.

Clean dining tables, chairs, kitchen, lavatory . . . Staff very pleasant and attentive, food flavorful and well prepared. My wife and I ate lunch their twice in our week long stay in Petoskey. After the initial lunch of a cup of gazpacho soup & half a grilled ham, brie, romain, with cranberry sauce on a multi grain bread (man was it good a good sandwich, and THE BEST gazpacho ever, and I've tried a lot of gazpacho!), I had to go back. On the second trip of course I had gazpacho, and a grilled beef brisket sandwich. It was just as good as the first lunch. You order at the counter at the rear, just in front of the kitchen. You get a plastic tray, with your soup, if ordered, and with napkins, knives & forks, and cups to get you own fountain drinks and/water. Then you seat yourself at one of a dozen two or four sweater old white porcelain kitchen tables. Having given you name to the person taking your order, a staff member comes to you table, greets you by name, and presents you with your order. Plenty to look at on the walls. There are plaques about food awards, and community charity giving and of course various tomato motif decorations. I want one in my town! June 2013

We've been coming to the Petoskey area for many years and tried Julienne Tomatoes for the first time this summer. I'm sad we waited this long. Our experience was wonderful. Unlike many places in Petoskey, this restaurant is near a cross street where there are often empty parking places. The casual menu is on a chalkboard and contains a variety of creative selections, all made with incredible homemade bread. I had a ham sandwich with Brie and roasted onions - amazing. Although there was steady traffic, most people were, seated fairly promptly.

A great little place for lunch! We traveled down to Petosky during our stay in Mackinaw and found this little gem, we're so glad we did! The overall atmosphere was very welcoming lots of little things to look at on the walls. The sandwiches were awesome, even the grilled cheese was " the best one", coming from a 4 year old grilled cheese expert, that's saying a lot! We will definitely be visiting again next summer!

Yup it's tasty. Parking on street (you might get lucky with the little lot next door) and limited seating. Don't miss dessert or the tomato soup. Skip the quiche.

Great local breakfast / lunch spot on the edge of downtown Petoskey. We always include a stop here when up north. Good food and friendly service in a nice atmosphere - lively without being loud. The restaurant gets their bread from Crooked Tree Breadworks (a local bakery), it has always been fresh and good on our visits. This visit (a couple of weeks ago), I had the french toast with the cherry pecan bread, served with real maple syrup. YUM - it was delicious without being overly sweet. The coffee was also good. I can't remember the brand, but I think the variety I had was called Moose Drool, believe it or not.

Visiting from Nashville, Tennessee and we feel like we found a lunch gem that we will continue to visit for years to come. Order "You Asked For It" - white meat chicken salad with cranberry and romaine lettuce on cherry pecan bread. This was one of the finest sandwiches I have ever had. The California Turkey Club, Robyn's Reuben and the newest addition to the menu, "Some Like FIsh (Melt) are also highly recommended. The tomato soup with gorganzola was so creamy and totally delicious. They also serve breakfast and are open from 8-4. Don't leave Charlevoix without visiting Julienne's.

I was really disappointed with the food. After reading yelp we thought we had something. My Turkey club was cold and our Brie and ham sandwich was tough to chew.

I love Roast and Toast but it has changed lots since I started eating there. After reading about Julienne Tomatoes I figured I had to go try it out. I love it! It has a home feel and with our 9 month old it felt like we were dinning with our own family. Julie's Dad (grandpa) made faces and noises making Ian laugh and he even shared a sugar cookie with him. I like the eclectic variety of foods and I think their support of local businesses and farms is outstanding. They're also clearly strong supports of the community evidenced by all the thank you notes an awards in the walls. I wish I had a Julienne Tomatoes in my home town. They're a great example of the type of businesses we need. Great Job! We'll be back soon!

Julienne Tomatoes is a great little place in downtown Petoskey. It is a order at the counter and bring the food out to you type of place. The sandwiches and soup that we had there was excellent and everything was fresh. There is something to be said about fresh food. For their deli meats, they use Boars Head meats, which in my opinion are the best deli meats around. My wife and I both had the half sandwich and cup of soup combo. Both the sandwiches and soup did not disappoint. We were visiting from 4 hours away and glad we stopped in. This is a must stop for lunch if you are ever in Petoskey.

This place is an absolute must. Visited from Chicagoland with a couple friends for a long weekend and tried this place for lunch on our first day in town and it was the best place I ate the whole weekend. Ingredients were fresh and everything was made right there. I had their sandwich with ham and brie and cranberries or something that was made hot and it was absolutely phenomenal. Reminded me of one my favorite small deli from back home

Sign on their wall says "If you like our food please tell others. If you don't, please tell us." They mean it, too. Family owned and operated--all about customer service. High quality, often locally sourced food. Boars Head meat with no antibiotics or hormones, homemade cookies, wonderful side options that change often. Big menu with many choices...just a really top-notch breakfast and lunch spot (not open for dinner). Agree with an earlier poster who said the "Gotta Try This Sandwich" is amazing...so true. That pepper parmesan bread is incredible.

This place is SO GOOD. I wish their hours were different, we always seem to miss them. I had a spinach salad that was out of this world, loved it. Their seating is a little scarce, but it's in a small building. The food is excellent, I would advise anyone to go here. Again, just wish the hours were different!

Julienne Tomatos is an awesome place. The atmosphere is relaxing and homey. The staff is warm and friendly and the food is delicious. The soup and bread are both homemade and to due for. I live about an hour from here and make it a point to eat here whenever I'm in town.

I ate here in June 2011 while on vacation and was very pleased! I had the Greek salad with chicken, and all the ingredients were fresh and wonderful. The salad was big and well worth the money. I'd been looking for a local, fast restaurant with good reviews, and this was a great choice. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a good, healthy, fresh meal while supporting a local business at the same time.

Great deli. Wish they were in my town. The food is amazing (try the #12 sandwich...I'm still thinking about it a week later). The staff was friendly. Their desserts are great, too.
