The was my best find yet in Northern Michigan. The DLB has great food, I have yet to find something I didn't like. The Ribeye is amazing, the Salmon is awesome, if you love Carrot cake, you have to try theirs. It is the best I've had. Just don't wait too late to go. Th kitchen closes around 9 or 10 depending on the day of the week.
The "Lenny" is delicious. The service is average. Both steaks were ordered medium and they brought them rare - poor execution likely due to the popularity of this place on summer weekends. They don't have to pay attention to detail. $135 for two should yield steaks the way they're ordered. We won't be back.
This out of the way 'log cabin' restaurant is definitely worth the drive. Located on the lake with unobstructed views from the verandah, lends itself to a lovely evening. My husband and I have taken many out of town guests to dine here this summer '15 and we have never been disappointed. The seafood and steaks are very popular and the serving size is large. I had the wedge salad last night and was a little disappointed with the lack of tomatoes and bacon accompanying my half wedge (which was way too big). Other than that small complaint everything was wonderful. The staff are very accommodating and knowledgeable. Reservations are strongly recommended during the summer and if possible, request to sit out on the verandah. Bon Appetite!
